Although this tour doesn't technically enter the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), it does take you right up to the edge along the Jogang river, which forms part of the DMZ near Aegibong. Here you can see the best possible unobstructed views of North Korea, unmatched anywhere else. As we pass by, you can enjoy not just the sights of North Korea but also the abundant, undisturbed nature and wildlife in the restricted no-man's zones.
This is a brief stop so your guide can receive your entrance tickets. It is also a checkpoint where you will need to show your passport in order to pass through the security area, as it is still a sensitive geopolitical area being so close to North Korea.
Salute heroes at this stirring site, where 15,000 Marines battled in the Korean War. Feel the sacrifice as the DMZ views ignite history's pulse!
Explore this unique DMZ-facing park, blending lush trails and war relics. Korea's only eco-peace hub stuns with North Korean vistas.
Wander vibrant themed gardens to the Sky Forest canopy. Spot 80+ rare bird species and gaze at North Korea from a different perspective.
Cross this 150m thrill-ride for heart-pounding North Korea views. A thrill-seeker's dream, it's also the place to snap some epic border shots of North Korea!
Take some rest at the outdoor seating area of the performance stage, where you may also catch some modern or traditional cultural performances if your timing is right. Enjoy the views over Jogang River and gaze upon the DMZ from a unique angle.
Ring this iconic bell, echoing hopes of peace across the DMZ. Cast in 2000, it symbolizes hope for reunification. A must-do ritual!
Reflect at this altar and honor the dreams for unity, with North Korea in sight. Built in 2018, it's a beacon of hope.
Sip a latte at the world’s closest Starbucks to North Korea. Enjoy clear views across the border while enjoying a coffee with a side of geopolitics!
Get the ultimate, unobstructed view of North Korea from Korea's closest observatory to the DMZ. Binoculars reveal villages just 1.4km away!
Drop-off location: Our tour bus will drop you off in Hongdae, a central location in downtown Seoul, and an ideal transportation hub from where you can continue with your day. Hongdae itself is also a vibrant, youthful area with trendy cafes, street performances, and unique shops. This artistic neighborhood offers live K-pop performances by wannabe next-generation youth, quirky arcades, and delicious street food, perfect for immersing yourself in Seoul's creative culture.

Great Experience! Ivy was our guide who was super helpful and knowledgeable about DMZ and all of the history involved. She was extremely accommodating and took the time to explain and share.
Ivy was a great tour guide very informative Her english was very good .
The experience was great. Just long enough, made so much better by our professional informative guide Eva
Brief but very good introduction and view of the DMZ, including photography opportunities of the propaganda village and guard posts. Especially pleased at how this experience did not occupy the whole day so we could still make plans.
Eva was an awesome guide, very kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Alex was a great guide. Speaks well, informative, humourous! Highly recommend!
Alex’ s explanation about the relationship between South korea and North korea and other historical backgrounds is wonderful. He is a very good tour guide!!
Alex was an amazing guide! Would definitely recommend!
It’s an excellent experience with Tour guide Ivy 😊
Great tour, Ivy explained everything about the history, the monuments and what we would see really well. She adjusted when we had to wait because of military requirements and tried so hard (Mike the driver did too) when we needed to leave early for a flight. They went out of their way to work with us and she was helpful looking around the park and showed us different areas through the binoculars. Can’t recommend them enough!
Our guide, Ivy is one of the best we ever encountered. She is effective and provide good explanation. The itinerary is also good.
Great half day tour with Ivy. Highly recommend booking a guide as military regulations change which can change timings slightly. Ivy made sure we knew pick up times and had great knowledge and photography skills at the view point. Great experience to see North Korea and enjoy a Starbucks.
Great views from Aegibong! Our tour guide, Ivy, was very good and we learned a lot from this tour and her
The tour with Eva is absolutely not to be missed. Great explanation during the way. Plenty of times to see North Korea from Starbucks observatory place. Fascinating experience. Thanks Eva !
Eva was the greatest tour guide happy and friendly very informative and easy to understand 5 star quality will request next time.
Very interesting! It’s a place that’s hard for tourists to find on their own, but Hana was also very friendly, making it a really fun experience.
Crystal is a nice tour guide. Pick up and drop off is at a convenient location. Explained the history in details
Amazing and very educational
Overall, it was nice experience and opportunity. Tour guide, Alex’s clear explanation and attitude towards to all gears are very nice all times.
convenient and good experience
Fascinating experience with our guide Alex who was very knowledgeable and had perfect English. The atmosphere at the DMZ was slightly uneasy but Alex made it all very interesting and reassuring. A fascinating piece of history everyone should experience
Alex was an excellent guide and host. Very cool & informative tour, highly recommend!
What a unique experience. Make sure to bring your passport as they check all IDs before entering. It's quite a walk but everything is newly built, including the long bridge. I ordered an ice americano at Starbucks which is on the top floor and then you are able to zoom in outside for a close up view of the propaganda town. You can see empty buildings, people farming, trucks going by, and a man riding a bike.
Amazing experience with Jack as a guide. Very good knowledge about the Korean history and very engaging, easy and also funny. He gave us important perspective on a still ongoing conflict and everyone that visits Korea should do this tour - it’s important for perspective. Trip itself, location and Starbucks was great but Jack as a guide made it 11/10.
Very good, respective and intelligent guide Jack. Quick tour for those who don't have much time for the sightseeing
Really good tour for kids. Good information on the way and then a two hour stop at the DMZ with free time to explore the site and enjoy the Starbucks. Perfect for with young kids (5 and 3) who would not have the energy or patience for longer full day tour with museums and could not do the tunnel. Jack in particular was a very good guide and helped with photos.
Very interesting tour with Alex, an excellent and knowledgeably guide.
Very interesting and informative experience. I would highly recommend Alex at VIP Tours as a tour guide.
It's an experience, I like so much history and Alex explained easily and told us the history behind the DMZ, I think I repit but the tour all day.I recommend the guide
Great and smooth experience. Alex kept us engaged the entire time with the stories and anecdotes about the N. And S. Korean relationship. Definitely worth it if you want a quick trip to the DMZ with great views.
We had a great trip with Alex visiting the Starbucks in Echo Park and looking over at North Korea. Worth it if you don’t have time to do one of the longer day trips.
Alex is the best tour guide ! He is very informative and entertaining as well!! 5 stars !!!!
Tour guide, GoGo did a great job of explaining the Korean history and was very kind whenever anyone had questions. I learned a lot and am very happy I came !
Had a great time on the Aegibong Tour. The pickup for the tour was very well coordinated and punctual. Also appreciate our guide Rose for giving the context and history behind the DMZ and explaining the significance of the observatory. The observatory in itself is a very surreal experience and has sufficient opportunities to peer in North Korean landscape and villages using free to use binoculars. All in all, I am glad to have chosen VIP Travel for the tour and would happily recommend to anyone planning to visit.
Rose was so helpful and knowledgeable, we have a great time 🥰
This tour is amazing. Our tour guide Rose, is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the history of the peninsula.
Rosi was our host and she did a fantastic job throughout the trip explaining the history of south korea,
Unfortunately the JSA is closed to civilians since 2023, so this the closest you can get. Overall the tour was informative and moved along at a good pace.
Great tour and our guide Jack was very friendly and knowledgeable. We booked the tour the day before and the company was very quick and communicative
The tour was an amazing experience! I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw N. Korea. The tour was a blast and Gogo made it amazing! Really friendly and welcoming tour guide making sure we got to see everything! Highly recommended especially with gogo!
Gogo was a brilliant tour guide. The experience is extremely interesting and a must-do for anyone visiting Seoul. I went on Monday so the tour was restricted compared to Tuesday - Sunday but it’s still great.
Gogo was amazing!! Great tour, very informative and friendly! Definitely worth the trip! Coffee and history all in one!
Excellent tour. Plenty of time to explore the peace park and view the North Korean side. Our guude Gogo was very informative and kept things moving along nicely 👌
Gogo was really good. He gave us a great insight into the history and culture of Korea.
Ivy was an excellent guide! She took the time to answer all our questions and was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the tour. Her English was very good, and her explanations were clear, detailed, and easy to understand. She made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended — thank you, Ivy!
An excellent tour, with Ivy as our guide. The pickup at Hongik university was on time, the bus was modern and comfortable. We did the 4-5 hour tour. Fascinating history, beautiful setting and scenery.
Had a very pleasant time with our guide Eva. She was very clear and informative about where we were going. She made the time a relaxing tour and a bit fun.
Perfect amount of time. Interesting background on the DMZ. Guide (Crystal) was very interesting. Easy pickup.
I had an amazing experience on the DMZ North Korea tour, and I really want to say a big thank you to our guide, Gogo. Gogo was absolutely amazing. He explained everything so clearly and told us many interesting stories about North Korea and South Korea. He didn’t just tell us the history — he helped us understand what happened and why the two countries are still divided today. My girlfriend and I are both deaf, and Gogo was very supportive and deaf-friendly. He took the time to help us communicate and even helped translate by writing things down for us. He made sure we understood everything and never made us feel left out. I really appreciated how patient, kind and helpful he was throughout the whole tour. His knowledge and the way he explained the history made the experience much more meaningful for us. Thank you so much, Gogo, for making our DMZ tour so special. We will remember this experience for a long time. I would definitely recommend Gogo and this tour to anyone visiting South Korea, especially deaf visitors who want a guide who is understanding and supportive
