Aegibong is famous for the place where displaced people often visit. After the Korean War, many displaced people missed their homes and visited Aegibong to see their hometown. Also, famous for the Starbucks cafe on the observatory now. The old observatory was established in 1978, but was demolished and it was renewed by the name of Jogang observatory where you can see the northern land from the closest distance. Used to known with a huge Christmas tree, but Christmas lights were too bright to N. Korea and it caused conflict due to lack of electricity in N. Korea. The tree was removed, but Aegibong Peace Ecopark workers built the bridges in shape of the tree. This Ecopark is a symbolic place representing peace and harmony.
Nara was very knowledgeable about our tour. She did a great job teaching us about Korea. I learned a lot. She made history come alive for me. She was also great about answering all my questions. The views were spectacular and the area is beautiful.
Tour fee itself is reasonable, but most of all, the value is with the time efficiency. Early morning departure from Honde and back by noontime to Myondong is very comfortable. The other point I want to emphasize is, the guide. Extremely informative and attentive. Ask any question casually and she will explain with a friendly enthusiasm. Lovely experience. We were with guide Sonyong.

Our guide Dragon was top notch, very personable, knowledgeable and articulate. I learned so much about Korea, the Korean War and DMZ and overall it was a great experience/value and one you definitely should not miss.
It was a very interesting experience to visit the observatory and I learned a lot from our guide Dragon. He had prepared slides to show us history of Korea and it was very helpful to understand with the visual information.
Dragon was a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable, nice, and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. I really appreciated how he told us what to expect and used an iPad for illustration. He made sure everyone was happy and took great photos of us individually and as a group!

Overall, a fantastic experience with Nicole, our tour guide. Very informative, easy to understand and a lot you get to experience for a very reasonable price. The tour lasted from roughly 9am till 2pm (more or less), so great for if you want to make plans for the rest of the day. Would hugely recommend.
Great tour and it was easy to see North Korea with the good binoculars. It was approximately 50 minutes from Seoul by bus and the tour guide Dragon was knowledgeable.

Our guide, Dragon, was amazing, very informative and enthusiastic . He went above and beyond to help us take pictures and even waited in line for us at the famous Starbucks and saved a table for us since it was very crowded . This half-day excursion was perfect for us , my husband and I brought his mother and our 10 year old son. The hour long bus ride was very comfortable and the walking required was moderate and easy to navigate for everyone in our party . This was such a cool experience to be this close to North Korea. If you are in Seoul I highly recommend it !
Thomas was a great tour guide for the DMZ experience. He was very informative and kind and answered our questions about Korea. He even helped with pronunciation with basic greetings in Korean. The tour group had about 40 people and the bus seats were comfortable enough to sleep in on the way back.

The tour to the Aegibong observatory was great; Dragon gave us a good overview of Korean history on the way there and let us walk around by ourselves for a bit at the observatory. The views of North Korea and the surrounding area were spectacular and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants value for their money!

I had an amazing time on this tour! The observatory offers an unforgettable view toward North Korea, and the suspension bridge was a fun bonus with beautiful scenery. The whole experience was well organized, ran on time, and struck a great balance between history, nature, and sightseeing. A huge thank you to our guide, Nara! She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history easy to understand while keeping the tour engaging and fun. She answered everyone’s questions, kept everything running smoothly, and made sure the group had a great experience from start to finish. Dragon (our tour guide) was great! We had a good time, although it did take us an hour and 45 minutes to get to the DMZ due to traffic. But overall, it was worth it and I would recommend! Dragon tools LOTS of photos of us and was so so nice. One thing though, we shared a bus with a Japanese tour and their tour guide talked on a loud microphone that went throughout the entire bus THE ENTIRE TRIP.
