Imjingak Park, originally established as a place of solace for refugees from North Korea during the Korean War, features several symbolic monuments such as the Freedom Bridge, the Soldiers’ Memorial, and the Peace Bell. Adjacent to it, Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park offers visitors a chance to reflect on Korea’s history, the ongoing tensions, and hopes for peace. With monuments like the Mangbaedan, a war-damaged steam locomotive, and open spaces dedicated to remembrance and harmony, the area holds strong potential to be designated as an international peace park.
[North Korea Experience Hall] The North Korea Experience Hall is a newly popular attraction in the DMZ tour, offering a deeper and more educational way to satisfy curiosity about North Korea. Beyond a simple exhibition of the division, it provides an immersive experience that presents North Korea, a mysterious space, in a fact-based educational manner. The hall features fact-driven content, including real testimonies from defectors and audiovisual documentaries, to help visitors gain a serious understanding of North Korea. This attraction creates a strong synergy with the DMZ tour by offering Q&A sessions with defectors, allowing visitors to experience content that naturally leads to a deeper understanding of North Korean society.
[Visit on Tuesday ~ Sunday] This tunnel, located 52 kilometers from Seoul in a straight line, was discovered in 1978. It was built for the purpose of invading the South Korea. Measuring 1,635 meters in length, 2 meters in height, and 2 meters in width, it has the capacity to move an entire division per hour. Interestingly, when the tunnel was discovered, North Korea claimed that the South Korea had built it for a surprise attack. However, the evidence strongly suggests otherwise.
[Visit on Tuesday ~ Sunday] Theater & Exhibition Hall: At the DMZ Theater, you can watch an 8-minute short film about the Korean conflict. This video presents South Korea’s perspective on the Korean War, the origins of the DMZ, and the current situation. It also provides background information on the infiltration tunnels dug by North Korea. Right next to the theater is the DMZ Exhibition Hall, where you can gain a deeper understanding of Korea’s painful history. The exhibition features key artifacts, including photographs, documents, and historical relics. Walking through the displays offers a more profound and visual insight into the conflict.
[Visit on Monday, National Holidays, in case the 3rd Tunnel is closed only] The Imjin River carries the sorrow of division while symbolizing hope for reunification. It is home to Korea’s first and only gondola system that crosses the Imjin River, spanning 850 meters and connecting Camp Greaves, located within the Civilian Control Line (CCL) area. Starting from the lower station at Imjingak, the gondola takes you across the Imjin River to the upper station, where you’ll find small observatories. From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Jangdan Peninsula, Freedom Bridge, Dokgae Bridge, and Imjingak all at once.
[Visit on Tuesday ~ Sunday] Perched atop Dorasan Mountain, Dorasan Observatory is the perfect spot to gaze across the border. As the northernmost point on the western front, it offers a panoramic view of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex and Songhaksan Mountain in a single glance. For a closer look, use the telescopes at the observatory to see the details up close.
[Visit on Monday, National Holidays, and when the 3rd Tunnel is closed only] Jangsan Natural Observatory, located along the Best Course of Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil in Paju, offers a stunning panoramic view, stretching from the Imjin River to various mountain ranges in North Korea. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Gaeseong, North Korea. Originally a military protection area off-limits to the public, access has recently been granted. The observatory is located about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. If the visit is not possible due to weather conditions, we will visit the Odusan Unification Observatory instead.
[Visit on Tuesday ~ Sunday] Tongilchon Village is a settlement located within the Civilian Control Zone (CCZ) on the western front of the DMZ and is not shown on most maps. The Jangdan soybeans grown here, nurtured by the fertile soil of the DMZ border region, are renowned for their exceptional quality, thanks to the clean waters of the Imjin River and the ideal growing conditions. The village is also self-sufficient, supporting itself by producing and selling various processed specialties.
[Visit on Monday, National Holiday & in case the 3rd tunnel is closed only] The British Army Seolmari Battle Memorial Park was built at the Seolmari site to honor the soldiers of the British Army Gloucester Regiment who died during the Battle of Imjin River in Seolmari, Jeokseong-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, from April 22 to 25, 1951. This battle was one of the fiercest during the Korean War. The sacrifices made by the British Army were immense. In particular, the Gloucester Battalion held out until the end, even though they were completely surrounded by 42,000 soldiers from three divisions of the Chinese Army. Out of 652 soldiers, only 67 survived and managed to escape. This earned them the title of the "Glorious Gloucester." The British government also visited the site in November 1992, when Prince Charles (now King Charles III) visited, and in April 1999, when Queen Elizabeth II visited. [If the visit is not possible due to weather, we will visit War Memorial of Korea instead.]
[Visit on Monday, National Holidays, in case the 3rd Tunnel is closed only] At the time of its construction, this was Korea’s longest suspension bridge and a fierce battlefield during the Korean War. It is the first stop on your short hiking course, requiring a 15-minute uphill walk. After this brief hike, you’ll reach a breathtaking viewpoint on Gamaksan Mountain. The Hero's Suspension Bridge spans 220 meters and offers stunning views of Silmari Valley. Opened in 2016, it has become a popular attraction for its scenic beauty and thrilling experience, enhancing the hike up Gamaksan Mountain. Designed with safety as a priority, the bridge offers breathtaking panoramic views that are truly one of a kind. Visitors often describe it as the highlight of their trip, praising its picturesque scenery. Bring your camera to capture stunning photos that will leave your friends and family in awe! If a visit is not possible due to weather, we will visit the War Memorial of Korea instead.
Due to large events, gatherings, and traffic congestion around City Hall Station on the day of the tour, if entry to City Hall becomes difficult, the tour will conclude at Hongik Univ. Station(Hongdae). Please remember to gather all personal belongings when exiting the vehicle.

Excellent tour guide with Sook-hee
Sook-hee was the tour guide and she was absolutely amazing. The tour was wonderful and I enjoyed it immensely. I would highly recommend the tour.
Tour guide was really kind and explained everything about the Korean war. Im glad to get the tour with her.
An incredible experience thanks to Sookhee! She was an outstanding tour guide—friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and the border with North Korea. She shared so many fascinating facts and stories we had never heard before, making the visit even more interesting and memorable. You can really tell how passionate she is about her work, and her enthusiasm is truly contagious. The tour is absolutely worth it, not only for everything you learn but also for the unique opportunity to explore a place with such a rich and fascinating history. I highly recommend both the tour and Sookhee as a guide! Definitely an unforgettable experience. 🇰🇷✨
Great day with Sook-hee. DMZ sites and history covered comprehensively. 👌
Great guide and tour. Sooki is very friendly !
Fantastic tour with a great guide
Sook-Hee was our guide. She was knowledgeable and provided a great experience.
Eddie was an excellent guide and showed us everything. Helped with photos and questions and made it a pleasant and educational experience!
Sook-hee was incredibly accommodating. When another tour company cancelled at the last minute Sook-hee was gracious enough to let me join her tour.
Sook-hee was an amazing guide.
We had a really great full day with our guide Sook-hee who was very helpful and backed up with great historical content
The experience was fun, we did this tour in elections day so the itinerary changed a little bit. We went to Odusan observation deck instead of Dora and the third tunel. The views from Odusan observation deck were really impressive, we even saw some farmers working in the North Korean side. Our tour guide, Sook-hee, made the trip very interesting telling us real stories and explained clearly what we were doing in every stop. If you’re visiting Seoul this kind of experiences are highly recommended. You learn a lot from the recent Korean history.
Sook-hee was relaxed, friendly and knowledgeable on this smaller tour. She took great care of us and we learned a lot about Korea, it's history and the DMZ. Highly recommended.
An excellent experience thanks to our travel guide Mrs. Sook-hee, who explained everything thoroughly, she had a lot of stories to tell, she was very helpful, very understanding, kind and superb in her job!!! Thank you Sook-hee!!!
Soon-Key tour guide very good. Enjoyable tour, especially the early arrival at the observation centre.
Sook-hee was a great guide, very fun experience.
Today on Monday 25th of May we started the tour with Suki, she was very interesting, intelligent and very enthusiastic about not just her job but making sure we got to experience everything fully. I really enjoyed myself with her as my guide definitely earned her 5 stars. Overall a very peaceful fun experience.
Great experience! Our guide soo kee was very sweet and knowledgeable. A great full day experience!
Excellent tour of the DMZ. Our guide Sook-Hee was very knowledgeable about north and south Korean history and relations. Great tour even on a bank holiday monday
Sook-hee was a great tour guide with fantastic stories. Showed us all the great spots and kept it interesting the whole time.
Great tour, very informative!! The Monday tour was truly great, accommodated for a large group (15ppl) at short notice. Sook-hee was an excellent tour guide with plenty of incredible extra information and stories for the group to enjoy. I would highly recommend this for anyone wishing to get the full DMZ experience!
Sookhee was a wonderful guide! She was engaging, knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about the history of Korea, and the DMZ Monday Tour is very well thought out with plenty to engage tourists even with the closure of the traditional DMZ sites. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested, and would definitely say Sookhee is the guide to choose if you can.
Sook-Hee was a great host throughout the tour which was very interesting and varied. All ran smoothly and on time! Many thanks Sook-Hee
Evan the tour guide was very nice. the tour was very informational and insightful with a good mix of indoor and outdoor activities. really enjoyed the tour.
Unique experience. Professional guide Sook Hee. Due to national holiday on May 5, we didn’t go to DMZ park. But the tour was still great. The itinerary was well organized and included Imjingak Peace Park, the DMZ Peace Gondola into the Civilian Control Zone, Camp Greaves, and Odusan Unification Observatory. Our guide explained the history clearly and made the trip easy to follow. It was a meaningful visit to a historically important and sensitive area. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Korean history and current affairs.
Hee-Soo was the best tour guide I have ever had in my life! She was funny, engaged and had so many good stories and extra details. For organisation she was brilliant as well, always checking that everyone was on the bus. Kept really wall with time efficiency also. 10/10 service from Hee-Soo! She made it such a brilliant experience from start to finish! Thank you Hee-Soo!
A fun day out I would highly recommend if you are interested in the Korea War and if you want to learn about North Korea from a defector! Hee-Soo is an enthusiastic tour guide who made sure the day ran smoothly.
Hee-soo was the sweetest, most enthusiastic and informative tour guide ever! The tour was so extensive, with a full exploration of the DMZ, trip on the gondola to the zone lines, including observation deck and war memorials. The highlight though was the talk from a North Korean defector - hearing the story of her bravery was so moving and we got to ask lots of questions. A truly amazing and unforgettable day. Shoutout to our driver and Hee-soo for elevating it even more. Would recommend this tour a thousand times over!
Hee-Soo was a great guide, patient and very friendly
Amazing trip, we had the wonderful Hee-soo as our tour guide today and she was very helpful, informative and so much fun for the full trip. Definitely worth doing!
This tour was exceptional! Hee-soo did a wonderful job leading our group and giving us a great experience. Would highly recommend
Hee-soo was so fun and amazing! What an amazing tour guide
Had one day in Seoul and booked this tour. Unfortunately it was a Monday and some popular places were closed but Sook-hee made the best of it. She had some interesting stories, took us to a few places that seemed under the radar, and was fun. Thanks Sook-hee!
Eddie was open friendly and knowledgeable
We loved Sook hee, she was a fantastic guide :)
We did the Special DMZ and Gloster Hill tour on a lovely spring day in April. The scenery was stunning and Sook- hee was very charming and informative. Highly recommended!
I had a really great time on this tour. Ms. Sookhee and Mr. Eddie were not only knowledgeable but also made everything feel so easy and interesting. It was the perfect balance between enjoyment and information. Highly recommend!
Sook-hee & Eddie were wonderful tour guides! It was an incredible experience from beginning to end! We enjoyed it so much & Will never forget this DMZ tour.
Amazing experience. BK was an amazing guide and was so insightful. Would definitely recommend!! Had a great time.
I really enjoyed the tour! I went on a Monday so a lot of stores and things were closed and even the tunnel. So keep that in mind. But not to worry, we still went to see the valley and DMZ/Border. Our guide Sookhee was excellent and very knowledgable. I would recommend this tour and guide. She even took photos for people and made sure they enjoyed their time.
Very informative tour with SooKee……shame about the weather…..too much rain.
Sooki provided an excellent overview of the history and the creation of the DMZ zone.
Excellent informative trip to a highly controversial border area Sookee was an excellent guide
It was very interesting with a lot of informations and a very good guide. A very good activity to do if you are in Korea.
The Monday DMZ tour was a very interesting and worthwhile experience with comfortable transport (modern minivan) and a fantastic guide in the form of Sookhoe- full of knowledge and passion on what is a difficult history. The choice of multiple pick up points was great as I only had to walk 5 minutes for the 7.20am pick up, then we went to a few alternative sites to the norm (on Monday the third tunnel and Dorasan park is closed I think?) Be warned you won’t get close to looking into North Korea if that’s what you want as even on the clear day we were lucky to have, we could just see some sites and the famous tall flag pole through binoculars. However the monuments, small museum and video, viewpoint, gondola ride, British battle tribute and suspension bridge and temple meant there was a varied range of sights to see. Our small tour group of 5 was dropped off at around 3.30pm at the town hall. Would definitely recommend and thanks again to Sookhoe (guide) and Gilbert (driver) for their manner and professionalism.
Sook Hee was the best tour guide. We had a wonderful time. Especially loved the suspension bridge and the temple that was a short hike from there. So peaceful. Recommend this tour for all.
Overall, this was an excellent and well-run tour from start to finish. Sookhoe was an outstanding tour guide with impressive knowledge and a very accommodating approach. Even though the weather impacted some of the views, the depth and quality of the information she shared more than made up for it. Despite many locations being closed on Monday, the alternate stops she selected were just as effective and still made the tour highly worthwhile. Highly recommended.
Sookhoe was a great tour guide , she has a wealth of knowledge and very accomadating. She has a personal approach to welcoming guests and encouraging questions . She enjoys her job and highlighting the South Korean history.
