Imjingak Park, located 7 km from the Military Demarcation Line, is well known for its related to the Korean War. Imjingak was built in 1972 with the hope that someday unification would be possible. The three-storied Imjingak is surrounded by several monuments, Unification Park and North Korea Center.
Mangbaedan is a place where people who left their families in north visits on New years day.
The Bridge of Freedom at Imjingak is a historic railroad bridge used by prisoners of war returning from the North after the Korean War.
From this Dora Observatory, you can overlook North Korea and various locations including Gaeseong, Songaksan, Kim Il-Sung Statue, and Cooperation Farm (Geumamgol).
The 3rd Tunnel was discovered by South Korea in 1978. It spans over 1,635m in length, 2m in width, and 2m in height and is located 52km from Seoul. It is estimated that approximately 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel per hour.
(Optional) Gamaksan Chulleong Bridge, a suspension bridge has 150m length and 1.5m width locates in Solma-ri where Battle of Solma-ri, aka Battle of Gloster Hill held in 1951. The battle of Solma-ri is one of the representative battles fought by UN forces in the Korean War and has important meaning as it is recorded as a representative battle of isolation defense. During the battle, about 650 British troops sacrifice themselves against 25,000 Chinese troops for three days and it allows the UN forces to redeploy their troops to stop the Chinese invasion of Seoul.

Chose to visit the DMZ - the 3rd tunnel - and the suspension bridge tour based on trip.coms recommendation. From the beginning our experience was set apart by our tour guide kenny. His extensive knowledge of the local history, combined with genuine friendliness brought an extra layer of enjoyment to our experience. His explanations at each stop made the journey seamless and memorable. If you are considering this trip, make sure to wear comfortable shoes as there is plenty of walking involved. With Kenny's guidance, this quickly became the highlight of our trip to Seoul. Would highly recommend. 10/10

Kenny was a wonderful, hospitable guide who made our DMZ tour memorable and easy to follow. He clearly knew his history and the conflicts surrounding the DMZ, and his use of real-world events, humor, and personal anecdotes helped my family and me better understand the significance of the places we visited. He also made great use of the TV on the tour bus during the drive, turning the journey into an engaging presentation which, as a college student, I could definitely appreciate at 8 in the morning lol He was friendly, thoughtful, and a true gentleman even offering to take pictures of us throughout the tour without anyone having to ask. Kenny gets 10 out of 5 stars! If I took this tour again, I’d want him as our guide. We couldn’t have asked for better company on the road to Korea’s DMZ.

Experience: This tour was awesome. The process of gathering the group together was easy, as Winnie was already waiting for us. The bus was also already waiting for us, so we had no any second delay. The tour is planned Herz thoughtful- every stop had enough time planned. The group had a normal size with approx. 32 persons, so that the tour was understandable., it wasn’t like an ocean of people. The stops are: -the observatory -DMZ -Suspension bridge -3. Tunnel The admission fee was appropriate since the tour took 7 hours. We had the possibility to buy lunch by ourself- these weren’t inclusive. The personal experience from Winnie was worth gold. She gave also a presentation in the bus about North Korea and the similarities between both countries. Also her experience with North Koreans is something you cannot read on the internet.

I love these tours because it really puts into perspective how good life is in a non fascist country.
