The Stay Classic Hotel Myeongdong

Upon arrival the receptionist was nice and friendly, both of the gentlemen. I arrived early and was allowed to check in early. Although this is the first hotel I have come across that charges for luggage storage which I found odd. The room itself wasn't too special and wasn't terrible. The location of the sofa and the TV was terrible. I couldn't sit on the sofa and watch TV as the middle partition was blocking. The only way to sit was on the bed and watch which killed my back. The other issue i had was only 1 mug, 1 coffee packet 1 spoon and 1 sugar. I few glasses would f been nice to have. I was given no washing up liquid to be able to reuse the mug. I had to go to the shops to buy plastic cup and they didn't give any detergent for washing machine. There was a LG styler in the room. I had never seen one before and It doesn't dry clothes nor does it steam. However there is a dryer and a iron located inside the basement. The LG styler is a waste. The other issue I had was the balcony doors not fully closing. There was 3 and it had one net. How can you have 3 doors but not a single one closed properly. As a result I had a sore throat and felt unwell because of this. The bed was okay to sleep on but the lights were distracting. The toilet and the bathroom was clean. The lady came and cleaned everything and gave clean towers and new sheets. No complaints with housekeeping. The WiFi was really fast and worked well. There is no password for WiFi. The hotel is located in Myeongdong. The closest metro station is city hall which is about 6 or 7 mins walk away and I think its the blue line. But you do have myeongdong station which is a longer walk and you have another station south as well. Both are within 15mins walk. Its a good hotel and value for money if you are solo. I spent 6 days here and worth the money.

We booked a Family Room, and the overall stay exceeded our expectations. 1. Excellent location for exploring Seoul: This was by far the hotel's biggest advantage. - Airport Bus 6015 stops directly across the street from the hotel. However, there is no direct crosswalk, so you will need to walk about 200 meters with your luggage or use the underground pedestrian passage. - The hotel is located right opposite Namdaemun Market. It takes only 1–2 minutes to reach the market through the underground passage. If you go early in the morning, you can easily buy the famous hotteok at the market entrance without having to wait in the long queues that usually form later in the day. - The hotel is situated on the same main road as Lotte Department Store and Myeongdong, making it only one bus stop away from Myeongdong Night Market. - There is a direct bus to Eunpyeong Hanok Village from the bus stop right in front of the hotel. - Sungnyemun Gate (Namdaemun), one of Korea's National Treasures, is only about a 3-minute walk away. From there, you can also catch a bus to N Seoul Tower or visit the charming Haebangchon neighborhood. - City Hall and Deoksugung Palace are within walking distance as well. 2. Comfortable and well-equipped room The room was not particularly large, but it was thoughtfully designed, modern, and very functional. The bed and bedding were comfortable, providing a good night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. Having a washing machine in the room was a huge plus, especially for families or longer stays. A standout feature was the LG Styler with five hangers, which was incredibly useful and not something you often find in hotels at this price point. We stayed in a corner room with a balcony overlooking Namdaemun-ro, offering a beautiful view of Sungnyemun Gate, especially at night. 3. Service and facilities The hotel informed guests in advance that toothpaste is not provided, so be sure to bring your own. Towels were replenished and replaced daily. Early check-in is available for an additional fee of KRW 11,000 per hour, which I found quite reasonable. The hotel does not offer complimentary luggage storage, but lockers are available for rent at around KRW 10,000 for 4 hours. An international power adapter was provided in the room, which was very convenient for international travelers. Both check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient. I booked through Agoda and was not required to pay a security deposit. 4. Value for money Room rates vary depending on the season and booking period. We booked about three months in advance and found the price very reasonable considering the location, facilities, and overall quality of the stay. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a convenient base in central Seoul. Its excellent location, easy access to public transportation, proximity to major attractions, and family-friendly amenities make it a great choice for both short and extended stays.

My family and I (2A2C) stayed in the royal twin (1 double/2 singles) for 6 nights. The location is perfect, walking distance to 3 train stations and right opposite Namdaemun Market and those popular pharmacies. Service was very good, house keeper was good and front desk was friendly and fluent in English. The room is quite squeezy but I really love the available of washer in the room :) The mattress can be better, and toilet’s water don’t seems to flow towards the drainage. Otherwise it’s perfect :) Overall, we do enjoy our stay there :)

The staff were polite and friendly, and the room was clean, comfortable, and filled with natural light. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe staying here. The location is excellent, right across from Namdaemun Market, making it easy to explore the area. There’s also a candy and snack store directly opposite the hotel, which was perfect for picking up some last-minute souvenirs before heading home. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seoul.
