We loved our stay here at JW Marriott Dongdaemun. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. Although our family size exceeded the number of guests included in our reservation, the staff made every effort to accommodate us and ensure that we were comfortable throughout our stay. Despite being Marriott Bonvoy Gold members, we were pleasantly surprised by several complimentary services and thoughtful gestures. What impressed us most was not simply the benefits we received, but the team's sincere commitment to anticipating and fulfilling their guests' needs whenever possible. We would especially like to express our sincere appreciation to Concierge Manager Oliver Park, whose attentiveness and genuine care made our stay even more memorable. His professionalism and thoughtful assistance reflected the exceptional level of hospitality that this hotel consistently delivers. The following morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, and it exceeded our expectations. Prior to staying here, we had spent several nights at Signiel Busan (Haeundae) and had also experienced their breakfast. However, the breakfast at JW Marriott Dongdaemun was superior overall. The selection was more extensive, and each dish was prepared with remarkable attention to quality and flavor. While Gangnam region offers many excellent hotel options, accommodations north of the Han River are often concentrated around Namsan and Myeong-dong. But if your plans take you to Dongdaemun or the northern part of Seoul, I believe this hotel can be an outstanding choice. The view of Dongdaemun Gate from the guest rooms adds a unique sense of Seoul's history and traditional charm, making the stay even more special. Overall, our experience far exceeded our expectations. The outstanding service, exceptional breakfast, and genuine hospitality made this a truly memorable stay. We highly recommend JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul and would gladly return on our next visit to Seoul.

Breakfast at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Tavolo 24 costs 60,500 KRW (equivalent to RMB 268). While the buffet is split into various food stations, none of the dishes stand out, and the ice cream lacks a rich, creamy texture. The restaurant’s overall service is mediocre and fails to meet the meticulous service standards expected of an international JW Marriott property. That said, two staff members delivered truly exceptional service and greatly elevated my stay experience. The gentleman preparing made-to-order Vietnamese pho was attentive and professional, and I would also like to highly commend doorman David. David is consistently welcoming, thoughtful and always wears a warm smile; his friendly, caring attitude made every arrival and departure pleasant.
This hotel deserves more than 5 stars! My family stayed here at the end of May. Our room was spacious for our family of 3 and it was so sweet to have slippers and a robe for our 5 year old. Also they had special soap for young children which was so thoughtful and made us feel welcomed to the hotel while staying as a family. The breakfast at the hotel was so good. I still think about the broccoli and fruit juice, the grilled zucchini and the perfectly cooked eggs. I also ate so many steamed sweet potatoes. It was healthy and a nourishing breakfast to start the day. The location was perfect for subway access and the areas we wanted to visit. It is in walking distance to DDP which was perfect because we love taking our son to Diki Diki! The best part of this hotel however, and without a doubt is the staff. Every single interaction you have with staff is just lovely. Every night after walking 20 thousand plus steps, it felt like coming home to rest, not just another hotel room. The room was impeccably cleaned and I never had any issues. I will always choose the JW Marriot Dongdaemun as our hotel when we visit. We stayed in other hotels during our stay to be closer to different attractions and we agreed we would rather spend more time on transit to visit other locations than stay anywhere else. This is my forever hotel now!
JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul offered a quiet luxury experience in this very busy area. This was the second time we visited this hotel, and I booked the Sky View Room this time instead of the standard room. I think it was well worth it. Compared to the standard room, the sofa by the window offered more flexible space for two people and the room had a darker, more Zen-like design. The shower temperature was more stable this time as well. We were expecting a bit more from the turndown service. At JW Marriott Tokyo, they offered pillow mist and music playlist recommendations. The gym at Club 501 was 11 out of 10! It is simply the best gym we have ever seen. We loved the layout, the beautiful interior design, and how quiet it was. Most importantly, it was fully equipped, which made it stand out from other hotel gyms that look fancy but offer only limited equipment. We also visited the sauna and it was nice as well. We visited Tavolo 24 for breakfast and dinner. The manager and the staff were very professional and warm. It was a pity that I didn’t discover that abalone porridge was available for breakfast until the last day of our stay. The staff showed me how much sauce to add, and the porridge tasted amazing. I had two bowls of it. As for dinner, the staff prepared a welcome card written in Mandarin for us, which was a very sweet gesture. The food was good overall, and I especially liked the halibut sashimi and the grilled lobster. All the staff were very nice and professional. Our messages and requests were responded to promptly. KIM DOYEON (Daeny) and Ben at the front desk made perfect arrangements and provided great assistance. Oliver was on leave, so we didn’t see him this time. In terms of transportation, the hotel is exceptionally well located and extremely convenient. The subway entrance is directly accessible from the hotel’s B1 level through the bakery. From the hotel, you can reach almost anywhere in Seoul within 20–30 minutes by car, bus, or subway. Overall, although the room was slightly smaller than my usual preference (ideally at least 40 square meters), the impeccable gym, excellent dining, outstanding service, and convenient location gave us every reason to return.
Everything about this hotel was first rate. The service was impeccable. Roy Oh from guest services provided us with exceptional customer experience. This was our second time staying at this hotel and we will come back in next year. We really appreciate the way the staff goes the extra yard to make our stay more enjoyable.
