A rough week spent at the Grand Hyatt and I will share why. I did my homework read multiple reviews watched youtube videos and there is some truth on the issues that have been noted. This was definitely not my first choice but was was available. Booked with with points I had 2 twin rooms booked with club access. I also had two guest of honor certificates ( that ended up getting wasted as I got no perks of globalist) Starting with location YES it is as bad as they say! Up on a hill in the middle of now where. In a city with such great tpublic transportation you are no where near a subway line. So if you want to be near the action of Seoul immediately take this off your list. Check in- Lobby is very noisy and crowded. No dedicated line for Globalist nor are any globalist perks offered. No Suite or room up grades so the Guest of honor certificate I had was totally wasted and used for nothing! SO if you are hoping to get some perks for your loyalty and status do not stay here! Elevator situation is ridiculous. Two elevators for floors 1-12 and two for 14-20! Crowds and wait time for an elevator took up to 15 minutes! Pool situation at check in we were told you are only allowed to use the pool once per day and you had to have a reservation! Its July 85 degree and you cannot use the pool when you wanted! The crazy part was that the pool never had more than 15 people in it and could have fit 150! Bad location, service and access to amenities! Definate;y do not stay here fi you are hoping for a great experience!

the room bathroom is sooo squeezy! i think aesthetic wise it didn’t help that they insert a huge wall painting thinking it might create a lengthened vision but NOPE. balmain amenities is the only console. we also appreciate this is one of the only hotel we’ve had so far with water dispenser in the room - great for late night instant noodle supper! my room faced the namsan tower which was lovely against the sunset backdrop it offers. i do find the room design to be dated. it probably needs a rejuvenation. lobby was luxurious and grand, and breakfast was decent.
We stayed here for 14 nights and it was absolutely incredible! The hotel was beautiful, the amenities were great, club access was convenient, all of the restaurants and in-room dining options were delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a suite with a beautiful view overlooking Seoul and it truly felt like a home-away-from-home during our stay. I cannot say enough good things about the ladies working the help and club desks! They were incredibly friendly, often gave us “off the map” food and site suggestions for our visit, and they even helped save the day when we had a last minute flight cancellation to Jeju Island that could’ve ruined the rest of our trip before heading to Japan. They sat on the phone for hours, calling airlines and confirming luggage allowances in Korean to make sure that our trip went smoothly. The bellhops were also very helpful in using their hotel cameras to track down a missing food delivery order that was misplaced by our delivery driver on one occasion. The staff went above and beyond in every instance we requested or needed them! 10/10 service! This stay was over a year ago, but the memories just popped up on my phone and made me realize that I never left a review. We had such a great stay that I had to came back to leave a review. I would love to stay here again when I return to South Korea! Highly recommend to everyone! Absolutely loved it here!
I have stayed at Grand Hyatt Seoul many times, but this recent visit was truly my best experience yet. While I frequently stay at other 5-star hotels in Gangnam for convenience, they simply cannot compare to the authentic and heartfelt hospitality here, which is free of any pretentiousness. The hotel facilities and rooms are impeccably maintained and spotless. A highlight of my stay was the Namsan walking trail recommended by the staff; it was absolutely wonderful and allowed me to enjoy a healthy, rejuvenating rest. I would like to personally recognize two outstanding staff members: Ash (Front Desk): Ash provided incredibly detailed and attentive guidance, explaining the facilities so thoroughly that it truly enhanced my stay. Mrs. Jung (Deli/Cafe): She was so thoughtful in explaining how to store my pastries and packaged them with such elegance and care. Thanks to her, I was able to give beautiful and elegant gifts to my friends in Seoul. They absolutely LOVED it! The breakfast was good, though I missed the previous seating with the better view. I was a bit surprised to be told window seats were full despite seeing vacancies, and I hope the team can double-check availability more carefully next time. Even after many visits, the genuine kindness of the staff continues to exceed my expectations. This is why I keep coming back. Here I am sharing some photos of views from my room and the trail connected to the hotel.
We had an excellent stay at the Grand Hyatt Seoul. The hotel feels very clean and modern, and from the moment we arrived the service was top notch. Our room was comfortable with beautiful views of Namsan Mountain, which made the stay feel especially peaceful. One thing that really stood out was the food. The room service was fantastic, and the club lounge was easily the best lounge food we’ve had across all of our Hyatt stays. The variety and quality were impressive, and the staff there were incredibly attentive. The service throughout the hotel was exceptional. We had sent a compliment to the hotel manager about the housekeeping team, and not only did he send us a personal note in return, he also insisted on meeting us during our stay and even gave us a small gift of appreciation. That level of hospitality really left an impression. The hotel is a little removed from the busiest tourist areas, but we actually loved that. It felt tranquil and relaxing, and you only had to walk down the hill to find plenty of great local restaurants and spots to explore. The area was also very foreigner friendly, which made everything easy. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would absolutely stay here again.
