Arirang Hill Hotel Dongdaemun is conveniently located near the metro station, making it easy to travel around Seoul and explore the surrounding areas.
We visited during winter, when the hotel’s centralised air-conditioning system was likely operating in heating mode. Unfortunately, our room became quite warm and stuffy during the night, and we were unable to adjust it to a comfortable temperature. However, the receptionist responded promptly and kindly provided us with an additional fan, which helped improve the situation.
Other than this issue, everything about our stay was pleasant. The room was comfortable, the location was convenient and the staff were helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a good experience at the hotel.
Excellent rooms (peaceful, good beds, perfect climatization), very good value for money. Breakfast a bit lacking on the sweet side, but good otherwise. Internal restaurant not tested. Desk service a bit slow.
This hotel was in the best location!! Just a short walk from the bus stop for drop off and pickup from the airport. Bus 6011. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel too. Less than a minute walk from blue line exit 6 that connects you to all the major tourist spots Namdaemun market, Myeongdong, DDP, Gwanjang market, etc
There is a small Cafe inside the lobby of the hotel. Staff were nice and you can leave your luggage until checkin or after checkout. We were able to do an early checkin from 11am at a low cost which was a plus. We had a double room with a view. Room was clean, not overly big but served its purpose well. Amenities like body wash are available. It's directly opposite an Olive young and just steps from different bakeries, restaurants and pharmacies. Also about 2 train stops from Dongdaemun plaza where there are a ton of malls that open until 4/5am. Honestly, on my next trip I will definitely stay here again since the loaction is perfect
Check-in is at 3:00 pm, but for approximately £3, you can request early room cleaning to gain access sooner. The fire safety measures are excellent—each room is equipped with a fire extinguisher and sprinkler system, while every floor has a fire hose. There is also a CPR machine available on the ground floor for emergencies. 3 pin British sockets are available in the rooms.
Overall, the service is good. The location is highly convenient, just 30 seconds from the station entrance, with plenty of good restaurants nearby. Breakfast is mostly for Koreans. Bacon and eggs added to the open buffet but not much European options like cheese, jam or meat options. Limited tea and bread selection. Avoid the breakfast if you are looking something similar to English or Mediterranean Breakfast.
Staying here was honestly one of the best decisions we made. The location is very convenient — bus stops are just a few minutes away by foot, and it’s also close to the train station, so getting around was really easy.
There are a lot of food places nearby, and the room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was comfy, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning the room every day, replacing towels, and making sure all the bathroom supplies were always complete.
The staff were very helpful and kind throughout our stay. Water pressure was good too. You can’t control the room temperature, but since it was winter, the room temperature was fine. It could get a bit warm sometimes, but it didn’t really bother me.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place. Would stay here again!
