This was our best day in Sardinia! Our guide was Maggie. She was fantastic! The tour was well paced. We learned so much about Sardinia and its history. Maggie provided background information and facts in an interesting and engaging manner. She was open to discussions and we learned so much on our journey between sites. Crawling and climbing through the the Nuraxi is an experience I’ll never forget. The trip to the museum to see the artifacts from Barumini and seeing the current excavation of the nuraxi under the museum was fascinating. We also enjoyed the tour of different highlights of Cagliari. Having access to a knowledgeable guide for 6 hours was priceless for us!

There was 4 of us in a very small car. The backseat had to fit 3 of us. I sat on the hump in the middle. The car never really cooled down. At one point it was 30. Too hot and too crowded.
Excellent small group tour - just us and another couple, so lots of opportunities to talk and ask questions. Saw a domus de janas as well as the amazing nuraghe - one of the best preserved and extensive of the many on Sardinia. A must-see. The guide does this tour several times a week, but you wouldn't guess it - he was fresh and informative, and drove safely.
The tour was amazing! Maggie/Maggy was a brilliant guide! She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and very funny! We were very impressed with the sites we were shown and the information that was relayed! As a small group we found the dedication was tailored to us perfectly. We had as much time as we wanted at the three sites, we didn’t feel rushed and we could investigate and take in as much as we wanted to. I would thoroughly recommend the tour to people of all ages, although some of the access to some of the ruins were tight, low or steep. But you don’t have to go in them to enjoy them and the stories and secrets (that are still being discovered) gave a real flavour to the mysteries of Sardinia! Maggie/Maggy was brilliant!!
Andrea was our guide for a small group tour of Su Nuraxi of Barumini and nearby sites. Barumini is amazing and the tour was fascinating. Andrea is very personable and knowledgable. He pointed out interesting things on the drive north from Cagliari to Barumini, including beautiful murals in a town along the way. He explained what life was like for the peoples of Barumini. I learned there were many invasions and conquests. However, the cultures merged over time. Andrea also identified a number of trees in the area, a particular interest of mine. Overall, it was an excellent day!
We visited three incredibly interesting sites with Maggie. She was fun, knowledgeable and made our visit so enriching. Ancient ruins that are still standing strong seem unreal, but these places were built to last. We had a marvelous time and the Drive to the sites was entertaining because our guide figured out early what most interests us and provided a customized tour. Thank you very much.
This tour is absolutely worth going to. The sites we visited were spectacular. Francesca is very knowledgeable and explained many details that would not have been obvious to a casual observer. And having the travelling included was a big plus - we did not have to make any arrangements, apart from the fact that she is a very careful driver. Totally recommended.
I highly recommend this tour with this operator! It was so exciting to be in antic town, to be inside and to get so deep knowledge about the history of this place. We were in the museum also. I very appreciate our guide for time with me and answering all my questions.
Absolutely loved our trip. Our guide, Maggie, was really fun, friendly and very knowledgable - she made the experience special. This is such a unique trip, there is nothing like it anywhere else in the world. I definitely recommend anybody, who stays in Cagliari, to experience this amazing site.
Our tour guide Maggie was wonderful. Her willingness to give us a taste of this unique part of Sardinia was unmatched. She was informative, entertaining, interesting, and patient! This was my 9-year-old son's favorite part of our whole trip to Sardinia. This fun adventure had it all for him and for us! Note that Su Nuraxi is not easy to navigate if you have physical limitations. There were a lot of steps in the archeological site. Part of the tour involved sitting on your butt to slide down four steep stairs in a narrow path. Wear sneakers and pants/shorts you don't mind getting a little dirty!
Great tour with an amazing host! Very informative with an easy pace and ample space for questions and exploration.
Tour was great. Guide Francesca was extremely knowledgeable and friendly ! Highly recommended tour !
Totally worth it. I don’t take tours generally but wanted some expert help with the Nuraghe, and our guide Francesca was wonderful. Totally worth doing.
Andrea was a great, informative and friendly guide and an excellent driver! He answered all our many questions with a smile! Visiting and exploring the Nuraghe archeological site was a memorable and amazing experience and thoroughly to be recommended.
We had a very knowledgeable, friendly and communicative guide. In addition the car was very clean, almost new and the driver very good! When we wanted to stop for food they made sure to arrange that.
Wonderful Francesca guided us through history, gave us a ride, and entertained us with history and humor. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. Thanks, Francesca! M&C from New York City
It looks like this tour is the best and the cheapest. Francesca was a fantastic tour guide and told us lots of history we did not know. She was punctual and picked us up at our hotel. There were only two of us so we went in a comfortable car and she told us about the island as we drove through villages and the countryside. The site itself is not to be missed and most impressive. We realised, because of the bus times from Cagliati (afternoons) it would have been impossible to get there and back in a day and hard to reach. Francesca was like a friend showing us round and a lovely intelligent young woman. Do not miss!
We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Francesca, picked us up on time and took us to the sites. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Su Nuraxi is larger than expected and fascinating. The general area is very scenic and beautiful too. There's a small cafe near the site where you can enjoy a quick coffee/beer. Also toilets near the site were immaculate. We were returned to the city area of our choice and recommend further places to visit. We highly recommend this day trip
Two of us took this tour. There were a total of four people along with our wonderful guide, Francesca, who picked us up conveniently near our room in the Old City of Cagliari. The ride to Barumini was comfortable and Francesca, a native Sardinian who can speak Italian, Sardinian and very good English, shared a lot of information about Sardinia. The tour of the nuraghe was very informative and interesting, albeit a little treacherous climbing down into the center of the stones. The added tour of the nearby museum and estate was also informative and interesting, and the total amount of time (half day) was just right. Francesca dropped us off at the location of our choice back in Cagliari. And then she came running after us to return my cell phone which I had left in the backseat of her vehicle. Wonderful!
We did a small-group tour, about six of us, with a driver 'Francesco' and a tour guide 'Francesca', which was comfortable and the tour informative. Francesca was able to answer all our questions easily and took us through the site at a comfortable pace. It's a fascinating site to visit and well worth it and not expensive.
A very informative tour. Francesca dud a wonderful job of guiding us through the countryside to Barumini. Although it was a very hot day we managed to navigate the paths up and into the nuraghe.we also did a tour of the museum and this was excellent as it is built over the foundations of some nuraghe. I would recommend others to do, however, a word of caution only with regard to very narrow and steep passageways.
Excellent tour gives a comprehensive insight in the nuranghe culture. Very much enjoyed also the Museum. Highly recommended and Francesca answers all the questions.
During our visit to the UNESCO site of Barumini we were deeply impressed by the extraordinary beauty and complexity of the Nuraghe Su Nuraxi, an architectural masterpiece of the Nuragic civilization. The visit was made even more special thanks to our guide Susanna, a passionate and incredibly prepared professional, who accompanied us on a real journey through time. With great clarity and enthusiasm, Susanna explained not only the structure of the nuraghe and its defensive, residential and symbolic functions, but also transmitted to us the soul of a fascinating and still partly mysterious people. Every detail, every stone came to life through his story: an engaging experience that made us feel part of the story. The visit continued to Casa Zapata, a modern and well-prepared museum, built over the remains of another nuraghe, the Nuraxi ’e Cresia. Here too we were accompanied by a trained guide who was able to guide us competently through archaeological finds, multimedia installations and historical testimonies, offering us a complete and suggestive view of the territory. Barumini is a unique place, but it is thanks to people like Susanna that cultural heritage becomes accessible, understandable and above all exciting. We highly recommend this visit to anyone who wants to discover the deepest roots of Sardinia.
Extensive and detailed explanations of the Guide both during the trip and during the visit to the nuraghe and the museum. Adherence to the planned schedule
Incredible conservation of such an ancient artifact. In the setting of the plateau that hosts it, this monument leads to an in-depth study of a historical period that is as ancient as it is little investigated and known. The visits are all guided and this makes them safe for tourists and full of news that fuels curiosity. Well maintained site, easily accessible even in the narrowest sections. Not to be missed.
Excellent visit, very well organized! The groups are well demarcated according to languages. We were lucky to have a guide who spoke Italian and French. She did everything to make our visit extraordinary. To advice
Very interesting experience. The Su Nuraxi is something unique. Sergio is an excellent guide, very experienced and friendly. The trip is worth it and is highly recommended,
Beautiful organized tour, we went from cagliari to barumini to posta to see about nuraxi and I must say we were not disappointed. You can breathe the history of ancient Sardinia, all expertly described and told by our guide. There is also a bar to cool off and a bathroom. The site is well maintained and clean
A wonderful archaeological site not to be missed if you pass in that area, you find the guides very prepared, there is only to make compliments, compliments, congratulations
Beautiful place, accompanied by Hadrian who told us perfectly the story of this wonderful archaeological site and who lent himself to answer all our questions. 7 euro very low price to be a guided tour.
Guides prepared, available. Exciting historical finds. Museum and house Zapata not to be missed! 🌞 our guys were curious about everything, it is a cultural treasure that we did not expect
Giornata metereologicamente ideale. Siamo stati condotti in automobile al sito archeologico. Durante il trasferimento e la visita siamo stati piacevolmente intrattenuti dalla guida su argomenti storici, geografici e di costume dei luoghi visitati e dell'intera Sardegna. Esperienza consigliatissima !
Captivating guide. The explanations on the route allowed us to understand the visit of the ruins and introduce us to Sardinian culture. Very good way to visit su nuraxi!
On October 9th I shared this experience with a Japanese friend, an English gentleman and Fabio, our precious guide, who and provided us with an excellent Service, both in Italian and English. Mr. Fabio, really prepared, during the journey to Barumini explained the characteristics of the landscape, conveying enthusiasm for his land and made unforgettable both the imposing Su Nuraxi, with surrounding archaeological area, and Casa Zapata where you can walk on the remains of another authentic nuraghe! I recommend this trip that I hope to repeat with all my family.
The excursion is well organized, the guide Francesca very prepared. The place is beautiful and includes surprises compared only to the nuraghe.
Valeria has sufficient historical knowledge of its island, Sardinia. Ready, kind, very pleasant in your explanations. I recommend it as a tour guide. Eloísa and Carlos.
First of all, the guide Fabio is an excellent professional who knows how to adapt to the needs of the visitor for the circumstances they are. He is fluent in Spanish and English. And of course, Barumini is unparalleled and a must-see.
The visit to Barumini was a unique experience. The site is very impressive and we managed to get there early before it is difficult to climb the tower. The guide was very professional and knew all about archaeology. I recommend this dive into the unique and mysterious history of Sardinia.
