My family did the pasta cooking class with Sardinia To Do. Valerio picked us up in Cagliari drove us to Sinnai. We truly enjoyed the pasta making process and learning about Sardinian forms of pasta. It's enjoyable making the pasta from flour, mixing it, rolling it out, preparing the filling, etc. The entire crew were warm and very helpful. My daughter ended up having an unrelated medical emergency. Valerio and Dani were extremely kind by accompanying and driving us to the Cagliari hospital and staying with us for many hours helping to translate and offer us company which was extremely helpful with our limited ability to speak Italian. This reduced our stress levels significantly. My daughter ended up being ok. I would highly recommend Sardinia To Do to everyone for any service because they are knowledgeable and very kind and considerate and will care for you and show you Sardinia as if you were a family friend.

This is an experience for animal lovers in a familiar environment. Located near Cagliari, Sardinia’s capital city, Sinnai is a small town where you can still see the typical Campidanese-style houses, with their mud-brick walls and wooden roofs, in its historic centre. One of these houses is the stage where Isabella and Valerio will teach you how to make two different types of local traditional pasta: malloreddus (also known as Sardinian gnocchi) and culurgiones (ravioli closed in a peculiar way). Two cats and a dog live in the house. (Only for lunch option) Later, we will cook our pasta and eat together, with a glass of lovely local wine and other typical products.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time taking the fun and instructional Homemade fresh pasta cooking class. We very much look forward to taking our new knowledge and a part of Sardinian tradition back to NYC and making some Culurgiones and Malloreddus. 😋 The experience was lovely being in their personal home and they even came to Cagliari to pick us up and drop us back. Beautiful and kind. Thank you!! Highly, highly recommended.
We signed up for the past cooking class, and this experience exceeded our expectations! The 2 of us and 4 more people were met at the cruise ship port by the owner. Valerio drove us through the countryside and told us about his homeland. We arrived at his private house with a full-size kitchen and backyard garden. The pasta making from scratch was educational and fun. We made the pasta, then pinched, and pushed together the culurgiones. Next week made hand rolled malloreddus. While the pasta was cooking, the six of us were invited to have wine and appetizers on the patio garden. Valerio and his assistant Roberta were friendly and happy. We laughed and enjoyed the afternoon together. By the way, the food was delicious 😋 Highly recommend for an amazing experience!
Roberta and Valerio are such wonderful hosts and teachers! This experience was exceptional, authentic, fun and delicious! Our hosts were very generous and personable and speak very good English! This is a must-do if you come to Sardinia!
I booked this cooking class a month in advance and was really looking forward to it. On the day, I was waiting to be picked up as arranged — but nobody turned up. When I contacted the operator, they immediately cancelled, saying it was a “2 person minimum” and that they thought they had cancelled my booking earlier (they hadn’t). This left me stranded on the roadside, upset, and with my whole day ruined. I hadn’t budgeted for another activity at short notice, and now I have to wait several days for my refund. This experience was extremely disappointing and shows how unorganised and unreliable the operator is. If you are a solo traveler, I would strongly advise booking with a more reliable company that values communication and doesn’t leave customers waiting with no notice.
Fantastic cooking class hosted by Isabella and Valerio! They welcomed us into their home, taught us how to make two kinds of delicious Sardinian pasta, and then we all shared a lovely meal with appetizers, our homemade treats, and excellent wine and desserts. We learned a lot about Sardinian culture and felt like part of the family by the time we left. Highly recommend!
Fabulous class! Isabella and Valerio were wonderful hosts and excellent chef instructors. They welcomed us into their home for the class and made us feel very welcome. We made traditional Sardinian pastas—culurgiones and malloreddus—which we thoroughly enjoyed at lunch along with tasty local appertivos and wine. This was a really great way to spend my birthday. Highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to explore regional cooking. Enjoyed spending a little time with their family, Frieda and Bella, too!
This was NOT a cooking class. This was cooking with friends and having an AMAZING experience. Of course, we learned pasta making, a little of Sardinian history, and the night was a great introduction to Sardinia. More than anything, we had an amazing experience and made new friends. If you’re on the fence BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE. My wife loved it, my impossible to please teenage daughters loved it. Stop reading!! Just book! And for Gods sake…no mushrooms on the carbonara!!
We really enjoyed our experience with Valerio and Isa, which was so much more than a cooking class into pasta making! They welcomed us into their home, were very patient with my 9 year old daughter and they made the learning of making traditional pasta a lot of fun! They were very organised and clear in communication, easy to find from Cagliari and very easy going. The antipasti, the wine and the pasta we've made together was absolutely delicious! We even got to take home the leftover pasta, which made for a great meal the next day. Highly recommended!
Delicious fun! My husband and I booked this experience in hopes of learning a bit more about making homemade pasta and the Sardinian way of life. We learned a lot and enjoyed the hands-on aspect of making our own pastas. We got to bring home the recipes and definitely plan to make them again. At the end of our class, we enjoyed a complete lunch that included both of the pastas that we made. It was special to us in that we got to meet the family in their own home with a limited number of people. Excellent!
Fantastic teachers, a beautiful traditional Sardinian home, and a delicious meal in great company. We absolutely loved our experience with Valerio and Isa. They were patient, careful teachers who made a joy out of learning new pasta skills. We will definitely be back to learn more. Though we've made our own pasta for years, we learned A TON about traditional methods and the differences between flour types. We took a lot of notes and are happily making pasta at home. The location was convenient to Cagliari and very easy to find. The class lasted multiple hours and ended with a lovely meal of antipasti, the pasta we made, and delicious local wines.
Valerio and Isabelle were not only wonderful instructors but wonderful hosts. The most memorable part will be having our home cooked meal in their company.
The most authentic experience of our trip to Sardinia. Isabelle and Valerio welcomed us into their beautiful home and were excellent teachers to teach us how to make two traditional pasta types. They shared the recipes as well as prepared a beautiful lunch but they were also so knowledgeable about Sardinia itself. A fun activity with our adult children.
What a wonderful experience! Isabella and Valerio were great fun hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make traditional Sardinian culurgiones and gnocchi! Loved the weaving of the culurgiones and can’t wait to try them at home. There were four of us from the US and three more from Germany - delightful classmates! Would absolutely highly recommend our experience. Thank you Isabella and Valerio, individually you are marvelous, together you are a fabulous team! Bravo! Grazie mille! Gina
What a wonderful experience with this lovely family. We enjoyed learning about Sardagna and the local village, as well as, learning how to make the pastas. Finished with a full meal of antipasto, the pasta 🍝 we created in their delicious sauce and coffee ☕️. Unable to add my photos to this site 🤷♀️ Definitely worth it!!
It was such a lovely time spent with the ladies, making Culurgiones and Malloreddus! They were very friendly, and it was a very relaxing experience! They gave us recipe for the pasta, and then after the lesson we had antipasto with the group. After they took us to their home and cooked both pastas for us. It was very nice to be inside a traditional Sardinian home and having a chat with the locals at the dining table, really recommended!
This was such an amazing class. Isabella and her family were so gracious and welcoming. The food we prepared was amazing and we had great conversation and cultural exchange over lunch. My son and I would definitely book again on our next trip to Cagliari.
This was an excellent pasta making experience, and the hostess and her husband were absolutely wonderful. They welcomed us into their home with such hospitality and warmth, and taught us traditional Sardinian pasta. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would strongly recommend that anyone visiting Sardinia to do this class!
I was visiting Sardinia with my girlfriend and we booked this cooking course to get an authentic expereince of Sardinian food and culture. A real highlight of our trip, a fantastic expereince. We were made to feel so welcome and I could not recommend this course enough. Isabella and Valerio were brilliant hosts and we had so much fun and enjoyment in making some amazing pasta.
The hosts are lovely and the whole experience really nice! They welcome you in their beautiful home and the pasta is fun to make and super delicious. I would certainly recommend it!
A brilliant experience and one of the highlights of our trip! Thank you to Isabella, Valerio, Rosanna and the rest of the family for hosting us in your beautiful home - We truly felt welcomed as friends. We had so much fun learning about Sardinian culture and making traditional culurgiones and malloreddus. We enjoyed coffee, breads, cold cuts and cheeses with honey, and our pasta with wine and profiteroles for dessert. We couldn't have asked for a more authentic experience. We also followed Isabella and Valerio's recommendations for Osteria Kobuta and Baccu Cardu, which were amazing. Highly, highly recommend! (We'd love to come again!)
We’ve spent spontaneously a weekend in Sardinia and decided to do this cooking class in order to catch as much as possible from the culture, the living, the food and the people there. We had so much fun with Isabella and Valerio and they were really patient with us 😅. We’ve spent a lot of time there which felt like we were friends from the past. The culurgiones were simply amazing and the best noodles we’ve ever eaten. Even though we were only two persons they did not cancel the class and still spent their time with us. Thank you so so much Isabella and Valerio!
We had the BEST time with Valerio, Isabella and Rosanna in their beautiful home. We learned to make malloreddus, culurgiones, and they were kind enough to show us how to make seadas for dessert. We enjoyed coffee, tea, wine and a selection of cheeses and salami, and of course the pasta we made. Everything was delicious. It was truly an authentic Sardinian experience, a highlight of our trip, and we hope to be back someday to learn more from them (maybe bread!). Can't recommend this experience enough.
This experience was so much better than going to a cooking school. Here we were in a family kitchen using their well-loved cooking items and picking herbs outside the kitchen door. Afterwards we sat down with the extended family to enjoy our efforts.
A fantastic day! We learned to make traditional pasta shapes in a quaint Sardinian home, using fresh herbs from the garden. A nice couple taught my girlfriend, her sister and I to make Culurgiones, Malloredus, Mezza Luna ravioli and tagliatelle (plus a few other shapes as we had some time). The grandma joined and added her expertise and knowledge of the traditions. After cooking, we sat down to eat a big banquet with them, their family and local wine. They also told us about the best vinyards to do wine tasting. Unbelievable value and really made us feel like we were at a home away from home. A great family - we wish them the best and will for sure recommend to friends! Va bene! Leo, Amber and Maya
It was a fantastic experience in great company. Thank you very much for teaching us how to make culurgiones and malloreddus, which we remade at home as soon as we got back from vacation. Now we have a recipe for pasta that works perfectly 🥰 the explanation as the organization and the half day spent together, made our holidays even more beautiful.
After a friendly welcome by Isabella and Valerio we got to know the 5 other participants of the "course". Preparing the pasta was very instructive, but it was always a lot of fun and there was a lot to laugh about. In addition, we learned a lot about Sardinia. At the end we could enjoy an aperitif and our pasta, including delicious wine and everything else that goes with it. It was just awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. Whether cooking for pasta or for the great acquaintances and stories. Isabella e Valerio, mille grazie per tutto. È stato sensazionale! :-)
This was an exceptionally great experience and definitely made our holiday in Sardinia unforgettable. Isabelle and Valerio are super friendly and warm hosts, they welcomed us into their home and we immediately felt like we were old friends. We would definitely come back!
The cooking class was sensational. Isabella and Valerio are very warm and taught us with a lot of patience and humor the Sardinian raviolis and colored gnocchis. The apartment is very cozy and in the kitchen a fire burned in the fireplace. The food was super delicious and we were allowed to take the rest of the pasta with us. We booked very spontaneously on Sunday morning for Monday morning. Everything worked smoothly.
I received this experience as a gift. A few days before the meeting, Valerio took the trouble to ask if there were any foods that we did not like. Being a vegetarian, he proposed an aperitif (very good and very original) completely vegetarian. Valerio and Isabella taught us how to prepare pasta step by step, giving us valuable advice, answering our questions, helping us when necessary. We have prepared culurgiones and malloreddus (multi-colored). The dinner was delicious and definitely filling, 5 star experience for us.
It is certainly an unbeatable activity for the start of a trip in Sardinia and begin to know not only in a fun and dynamic way the traditional Sardinian gastronomy but also to introduce you to its general culture and value of the family making you feel for a few hours as part of it. In our case we made it as a final cap to a wonderful trip and a lunch that culminated exceptionally with an also exceptional company.
If you are thinking about doing the course, we highly recommend it. They teach you everything there is to know and on top of that they treat you as if you are family and they know you all your life. Thank you very much to Isa, Valerio, Isa and Rosanna, who with their experience went perfectly. It is a great pleasure to have met you and enjoyed an unforgettable experience.
We attended the pasta cooking class as a couple. Place of the event was the house of the two hosts Isabella and Valerio who and very warmly received. The course itself (we were only 2 guests, which gave us a very personal experience) consisted of making 3 different types of pasta, under the supervision of Isabella's "mama" who actively supported us. We were able to do all the steps of the recipes ourselves after very good instructions in English, which was a lot of fun in the friendly Mood. The highlight was the subsequent lunch of the cooked, delicious pasta with the family in the small courtyard/garden of the house. With delicious wine, appetizers, main course and homemade cake we could learn a lot about life in Sardinia. The course is highly recommended, even if you have arrived like us about an hour by car. It's worth it!
