Itinerary
The Palazzo Civico is the seat of the Municipality of Cagliari and is located in the lower part of the Stampace district, along Via Roma.
The bastion of Saint Remy, one of the most iconic monumental structures in Cagliari, connects the Villanova district with the fortified Castello district, in the heart of the historic center. It takes its name from the Baron of Saint Remy, the first Piedmontese viceroy.
The Elephant Tower, built in 1307, is one of the symbols of medieval Cagliari and marks the entrance to the Castello district. One of its distinctive features is the sculpture of a small elephant on the south side, from which the name derives.
The Cathedral of Santa Maria is one of the most famous places of worship on the island. Let's discover the story of this beautiful building and some curiosities!
The Chapel of Santa Restituta is located in the church of the same name and is one of the oldest places of worship in the city. Let's discover its story!
Completed in 1305, the Tower of San Pancrazio, with its sturdy limestone walls, narrow loopholes and heavy portcullis, protected the northern side of the Castle. Situated about one hundred metres above sea level and developed on four floors, it reached a height of over thirty-six metres, representing an excellent observation point against possible attacks both from the sea and from the hinterland.
The San Benedetto Civic Market in Cagliari is one of the largest covered markets in Italy and a point of reference for the city. Are you looking for typical products of the city? That's your place!
The Roman amphitheatre of Cagliari, probably dating back to the end of the 2nd century AD, is located in a natural valley at the foot of the Buon Cammino hill. Let's discover the story of this impressive building!

An easy to follow trip and being able to change destinations and come back to other places was good.
Good experience over all. It should tell you at the beginning the closing times of various things and to check current status. By the time we got to the market it was closed so we'll have to go another day. Amphitheatre also closed for refurb. Church was closed despite your guide saying it opened every day. Apart from that, it was informative and interesting. We ended up going down then back up the stairs to get to the Amphitheatre and wondered why the route would make us do that. Then looking at the map I see you above going a different way, though you would need to go back to the beginning to see that. The link to take you to next activity just opens Google Maps to route you.
I listened / read the guide a day before my trip and really felt it was a good overview of the city, history and monuments to see.
The guide is easy to follow, however, a few of the places were closed due to exhibition or just simply shut. We didn’t finish the whole route as it was a hot day. But it is flexible enough that we can skip part of the stops and go to the end.
An affordable and interesting audio guide. Easy to install and play. For any reason, we have not found the Passegiatta Coperta though. It's really appreciated to be able to take the tour at your own pace.
Very steep walking but awesome sights, only did half the tour due to fatique.
The concept is great and the information was great. Execution was to difficult to use and we abandoned it after the first stop. Being web based instead of app based made the process hard. If there is a table of contents and a list of stops, we couldn't find it. The link to Google worked for walking on the first stop, but switched to a car on the second. Consider changing to an app based tour and I will be more interested.
I love this! The audio guide is very thorough and easy to follow. No trying to keep up with a group, trying to hear or understand someone and moving place to place against a clock. Go at your own speed, stop along the way as much as you want and you can even continue the following day. Worth it!
This was a total waste of time. Layers of security codes with links that don’t work on an iPhone. Forced downloads of Aps, and more security codes to open and use so onerous that I gave up on it and never succeeded in getting anything other than the bill. Completely SUCKS!
Great idea. Loads of information on numerous interesting places. Easy to follow but worth spending a few minutes checking it out beforehand. Saw parts of Cagliari we would never have seen if it wasnt for this tour. The market is closed though so check this out before setting off. Hope these catch on in all cities. Well worth the money.
This was a great way to spend my first evening in Cagliari. I split the tour in two, half in the evening, half the next morning. It was lovely to see the sights at different times of day. The info was very good, though there were a few sights that were either closed for construction, or relocated (the public market) and it required me to use my problem solving skills to reroute myself. All in all, it’s a fantastic product if you enjoy getting yourself around at your own pace, but with a guide in your ear to educate you as you arrive to the destinations.
We enjoyed very much Walking Cap. Easy to use, a good audio and text on with important sites. It would be great to have included information on updates on big renovations that do not allow you to come in.
Our tour guide, Maggie, was very informative and knowledgeable. My husband and I learned so much of Cagliari history on this tour! I highly recommend!!
This tour takes you to Cagliari's most important sights. Along the way, you'll hear and read interesting facts about the places. It's great that you can follow the tour at your own pace.
Funny experience and nice Itinerary for one day in Cagliari. You will use your phone (you won't meet with Walkingcap) but is going to be really simple. Will use again in future.
Great walking tour! Easy to follow! Make sure your phone has service or the tour is set up before leaving wifi.
This was a good, easy to use and value for money self guide of the city. We finished up having a lovely lunch in one of the traditional restaurant recommendations that we would have never found ourselves.
It was easy to use the guide. And, once you opened it, you could revisit unlimited times over 4 days. This enabled doing small portions at a time which I liked. The information given was good but could have been a little more detailed.
Every stop was amazing and we loved that we could continue on our own pace. We also really enjoyed all the facts and history. Would highly recommend!
Enjoyable day in Cagliari. Since I found no other options I booked this self guided tour and it was better then expected. I walked by myself and enjoyed the freedom of wandering in Cagliari. The content is good in terms of quantity (not too many info but for me it was perfect).
Great experience with this digital guide to Cagliari! You receive a link and password via email and can start visiting right away with your smartphone. The itinerary touches on the main monuments of the city and there is just the right amount of information about each attraction with some fun trivia. We also followed the restaurant recommendations and had a great experience. Recommended!
When we went to the meeting point for this tour, there was no one there who knew anything at all about this walking tour that I purchased. The staff at the location listed for the meeting point confirmed we were at the correct address listed on our tickets, but knew nothing of the tour. After about 45 minutes of trying to locate the starting point and obtain the map & audio guide, we gave up and realized we wasted our money on this tour. Very disappointing!
The tour is enough to see Cagliari in one morning and see the main sights step by step.
Very informative. It worked perfectly.
It is easy to handle, you get a lot of input, the routes are well described and most importantly, I can organize the city tour at my own pace.
Practical, precise, and gives you the freedom to adapt it to your schedule by being able to split up the visit.
The audio guide does not work and the paper guide is in English when I bought it in Spanish
The map could not be enlarged, we did not use the guidebook. That was an experience, we will never do that again
Formidable. You go at your own pace. We were missing the headphones but with the speaker we had enough. 5 stars
Great experience, guide perfectly done, clear, detailed.... The best for a very affordable price!
The tour was well explained and very detailed, done at our own pace. Excellent value for money.
Informative, interesting tour that can be individually adjusted with breaks. All other providers do not have offers for solo travelers.
Well-explained visit and very interesting.
Very good tour. No tedious planning required beforehand.
They did not explain the dynamics to me well. After I understood, I was able to enter, but the guide was about Como and not Cagliari. I could not change it.
Nice route, good description and audio guide
This autonomous guide is very good. You can go at your own pace and the information is good. Has a wide variety of languages The only downside is that it looks messy, so you have to go up and down the hill several times.
Initially not easy to update the booking Beforehand, check that all locations are open. Gone may be a detour sometimes.
The audio wasn't working. I started with the writing, but I have no opinion because I should have suspended because of a particular problem.
It's a great invention! I had never tasted it and this time, that I also travel alone, has been quite a discovery. Being able to go at your own pace is greatly appreciated. Although there have been some places I have not been able to visit because of the heat, my favorite stop has been the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Stendhal Syndrome has invaded me and I cried when I saw the interior, what an absolute beauty! I found this new concept of walking tours very comfortable and I have to admit that Matteo has worked a lot. Everything works perfectly. Hopefully this project will go ahead because it is very useful for traveling alone!
Attractive and educational tour. Should be done in the early morning or late evening (maybe not go on holiday to Italy in August. - This is my fault ;-) )
Comments and information about the sites visited are really interesting and relevant. All allowing you to do it at your own pace and in the order you want. Quality / very interesting price. Will definitely look at the other cities that this airline offers for my future trips/holidays.
Good tour of the main attractions with interesting comments. Maybe see more sites to not retrace your steps and some sites to added that we pass but for which there is no explanation that could add to the experience.
Beautiful city to discover. Do not hesitate to get lost in the streets of the marina district. Disappointed 😞 by the Roman theater which is not highlighted. Making the National Archaeological Museum is a good introduction to future visits to nuraghic sites Be careful to visit the city in the morning because with the summer heat you are quickly suffocated
Excellent digital guide, simple and convenient to use independently. The main attractions are described with the necessary information for a complete tour of the city. We will also use it for other cities.
Great driving! Complete and exhaustive and pleasant listening... I recommend the purchase! Clear in detail and very interesting!
This guide has allowed us to know the most iconic places of the city, the itinerary can be customized, it is not necessary to follow the sequence, we found it very useful Matteo, the author will describe the monuments and tell you their story with audio, very pleasant to listen to and with the written part with photos and insights. So do not hesitate to buy this guide at such a special price! Bravo Matteo! Lorena
