Cagliari, Old Town Walking Tour

This is probably the worst place I have ever been and I have travelled North South America Asia Europe I have never been treated so badly as I have been in Sardinia Italy I would never recommend this place beautiful but treatment is terrible of tourists

The tour was so interesting. There is a lot of history packed into the city of Cagliari. And Francesca shared it with us. She is a fantastic guide. I would highly recommend to everyone that they take this tour with her.

We recommend booking this tour near the beginning of your stay so you can visit the tour guides favorite spots to eat and drink for the rest of your vacation! No recommendation on trip advisor, Google, or social media will beat advice given to you from a local. Please do yourself a favor and book this!!! You will see so many beautiful hidden gems around the city!!

Francesca was excellent. Knew a lot of history was very thorough very kind and we really enjoyed being with her.

Two hours was plenty, the guides heavy accent was not easy to understand and we missed the majority of landmark information. It was however an easy way to see the sites.

I don't think if you tried to do this tour on your own you would get to see as much as this tour offers. The information shared the places you visit far exceeded our expectations.

We had a very informative tour with Silvia, who was super kind, our dog was with us and it wasn’t a problem. We got to learn a lot about the history of the city, but she was also happy to anwser questions about the everday life of locals today and even gave us a tip on where to spot flamingos nearby.

Enjoyable and informative tour of the Old Town in Cagliari - a good orientation at the start of our stay. The guide coped well with some participants joining late part-way through the tour. Recommended.

Great walking tour to see to see the historical landmarks. Our tour guide was amazing speaking perfectly English and Italian.

Sylvia was an excellent tour guide, showing us the highlights or old town Cagliari with knowledge and humor. One note: Although it was advertised as an English tour, it was actually in both Italian and English. So we ended up standing at each stop for some extra time which Sylvia translated her comments. It wasn’t a problem but not quite what we expected. Overall, worthwhile!

I strongly recommend this tour.. the old town of Cagliari is beautiful! The tour is a great way to visit the old town if you do not have a lot of time to browse around. The tour guide was really nice and knowledgeable.

We had an enjoyable and informative tour. Our guide Valentina was excellent at explaining the history of Cagliari and the architectural features of the Castello district. She answered a range of questions on culture, language, travel etc from the group. The walking was at a relaxed pace on a hot day. Although we booked a tour in English, the tour was in both English and Italian. We didn’t mind as it felt more authentic in a way and I used the time to consult AI on google for additional details while Valentina spoke Italian. The information provided by Tripadvisor was confusing though and needs to be made more specific. When I clicked Meeting Point on the booking confirmation, two meeting points were listed. We went to the first one and it took us a while to work out that it was for the subterranean tour. We eventually got pointed the direction to the right (second) meeting point. Valentina did helpfully call when we were late. So I would highly recommended the tour to those who don’t have a lot of time to explore on their own but be aware that the right meeting point is Largo Carlo Felice.

Very nice and informative walk. Definitely recommend. Hilly but doable. Lots of stops to have a view of the city. Glad we did it.

Our amazing guide walked us through the citie’s most important sights always with a very practical and informative talk! 2 hours imersed in the history of Cagliari and I totally recommend this tour for anyone visiting the city!

Our tour guide Francesca was very accommodating and relaxing, even while giving us a very thorough tour of the old city. Given that we had some physical limitations, she recommended stopping for tea after a steep climb, which was lovely. It was very low stress and somehow she kept us on track timewise. She knew so much about Cagliari and answered our hundreds of questions with ease - including personal ones about her family who lived locally for generations. We most enjoyed seeing the fortress towers and the Villanova section of town with plants and flowers lining the narrow streets. Great tour!

Francesca was outstanding and knew much about her homeland,even dating back to B.C times. She answered every question we through at her, and gave an immense amount of information about Cagliari, even some of her personal viewpoints. She was punctual and courteous as well of an extreme pride for her country!

Be swept away in the rich history of this ancient city dating back to the Neolithic to its current modern day charm. Our guide Anna was as insightful as she was animated while guiding us though narrow pathways to spectacular vista views. History mixed with folklore made this tour extra special! Thank-you Anna!

Our tour of Cagliari was the highlight of our holiday. Our excellent guide Anna gave us a real sense of the history of the city and the island. Her enthusiasm and knowledge made it all come alive.

We were on the walking tour with Francesca. Overall the tour showed a good variety of the old city. The tour guide was very patient with the young child and very knowledgeable about the city’s history. Sometimes it would have been nice to have more recent facts or fun facts. Would recommend this tour.

We had an amazing time in the double Old Cagliari and Underground City tours with Francesca, who was very nice and helpful. It really helped us understand the history of the city and appreciate Sardinia in a new level. For a great price we had a very complete experience that wouldn't have been enjoyed without a guide.

Anna again let her passion for the city's unique history set the tone for this tour. The cathedral and its crypt is definitely a highlight, and lived up to the billing as Anna's favorite place. The best tour to get to know Cagliari.

My husband and I arrived in Cagliari around noon and called around to get a city tour. Most places were booked or in the process of tours already. One company we spoke to suggested calling Sardinia Magic Experience and I’m glad we did. Valeria, a sweet, knowledgeable, intelligent woman met us and proceeded with the tour for just my husband and myself. She told us of all the countries who had influenced Sardinia’s history with the focus on Cagliari. She walked with us around the old part of the city taking us to different vantage points that highlighted historical facts. Our tour was enjoyable and informative! Thanks Valeria!

I really found this tour to be an incredible deal - it was informative, interesting, and the guide was really wonderful and lovely. I had a great time and highly recommend it! Also, they were incredibly kind and professional. I was solo so they made special efforts to find a group I could latch on to - and I really appreciated this!

Maggie was a great tour guide, and has been able to tell us a lot about the city. Since we had 2 small children with us, it often did not go so fast, but thanks to Maggie was no problem at all. Thank you for two interesting hours and the nice travel companion!

Very outstanding old town, especially the citadel and churches ayf the high plateau unique. Wonderful views of the entire city from there. There is an elevator there, free of charge.

Vanessa, the guide, was able to tell the city of Cagliari conveying curiosity and interest by providing information and anecdotes, also suggested how to enrich our stay with other itineraries of cultural and natural interest.
