Our guided trip from Sapa into the local villages was a great way to spend a day. Our guide, Tùng was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We did not have the best weather to start so he was able to reroute our trek to one that fit the day better. It was a bit steep getting down from Sapa to the first village but once you're they're the rest of the trip is pretty flat and very simple trekking. Definitely recommend hiking boots/shoes over sneakers. The lunch stop halfway through gives you a lot of food so don't worry about working up a hunger. Have a light breakfast and you'll be fine. There is a cafe/bar stop as well. The scenery is stunning and the small villages are all interesting and unique. You will most likely have a local follow your group for a bit of the trip, seems like it's how it goes there. They'll help you with the trek and then will try to sell you some of the same handmade goods you'll see in Sapa. Lucky for us we wanted to try the Red Dao herbal baths and this trek ended in a village that offered them everywhere. Our guide took us to a lovely spa and we had a great, relaxing herbal bath to end the day. Hotel pick up to start the trek and a car is hired for you to return back to town. Thank you Tùng!
The guide wasn’t the best explaining things along the way. Make sure to bring your own trekking boots as we rented ours and when we got back the place was closed.
A highly enjoyable experience and a great way to discover the beauty of Sapa and learn about the local culture. The tour was well organized and enjoyable from start to finish. Special thanks to our guide, Pen, for her kindness, professionalism, and attentive support throughout the day. Highly recommended!
Rewarding trek, beautiful scenery. Lucas was a great guide. He was super helpful and friendly. Lunch was wonderful.
Amazing hike - Great way to see Sapa away from the busyness. The views are spectacular. (Bonus: the lunch was lovely and the family that made it were very friendly!) Our guide Nhu was very informative and made us feel at ease. We really enjoyed having her as our guide. FYI - Slightly more tiring than we were expecting 😅. Make sure you have good footwear and have something to cover your arms and legs (as it can get a bit scratchy in the corn field).
Our trek was ruined by heavy rain which is just bad luck for us Numy did a really good job of making the most of it and we learned a lot about the the villages Excellent lunch
We had a great hike today up Dragon mountain with Nhu! It ended up just being us which we really liked! The weather wasn’t perfect but it was still an amazing time with great views. Walking through the bamboo forest is quite an experience! Nhu gave great information throughout the hike and was very kind. We stopped for lunch which was very good as well. Definitely recommend!
Our local guid, Nhu was fantastic! Her knowledge of all of the area and villages was great, and we enjoyed not only the walking and culture, but the yummy food at the lunch restaurant. Really really happy with our trek, and our guide! Dave

Absolutely amazing experience. Sinh was an excellent guide who gave us cultural information along the way. The trails were beautiful and the views were breathtaking. Lunch was included and was plentiful. I am vegetarian and catered for with no issues.
We had a fantastic time with Nhu. She is very knowledgeable about her region. We walked through 3 villages, all very different, stopping on the way for rests, toilet and drinks. The lunch stop was excellent, lovely traditional food. Some of the terrain is a little tricky, as I have an old leg injury, but Nhu was kind enough to help me, and constantly checked in with us. I would fully recommend Nhu and this tour.
Amazing tour with Nhu. She was so friendly and told us so many interesting facts. We kept away from the big groups so walking through the mountains and rice fields was serene. Fantastic tour and very well run, highly recommend.
We had a fabulous trek with our guide Nhu. We were the only ones on the tour and asked her to take us off the beaten track which she did. We enjoyed seeing the rice fields, hearing about her way of life, exploring smaller villages and ended the day at the once a year Nes Year festival which was something to experience! Nhu is an excellent guide - knowledgeable, kind and worked hard to ensure we had a great, safe experience. Thank you Nhu!
My better half booked it on Viator, which now doesn’t allow to post a review for some weird reason. Too bad, I trust this was a great day to spend despite the uncooperative winter weather… It was a group tour, but our group ended up being the only people on this tour on this day, so it was a private one, if fact, where we could feel more freedom to deviate from the set itinerary. We thoroughly enjoyed the trek through the mountains and valley with our Black Hmong guide Sinh who was telling us everything we wanted to know about the nature, landscape, people and life in Sapa and area, mountains and valleys, and a lot of other fun facts in good English. He led us through the picturesque views and showed vantage points to take the best pictures, including from his drone (this was a pleasant surprise) following us, told us about his family, showed his house, took our photos, and waited patiently for us on steep slopes. We were lucky with the weather, but most of it was due to his knowledge of weather and wind patterns: we merely followed his advice in choosing the details of our itinerary, which was a bit customized based on our preferences, stamina and time limitations. This was especially valuable for us, since the day before we faced blistering cold and disappointing zero visibility at Fansipan. Though some 'traditional houses' we planned to visit in the village were closed for some reason, Sinh managed to show us several other sites, with samples of traditional activities back in time and nowadays. Lunch was abundant, local tea including, and the lunch place was in a picturesque location. In a hindsight, we should have bought something there in the village, as prices were probably better, but the assortment looked the same as everywhere in Sapa, and we didn't have a lot of extra room and were rather tired after a full day of hiking. Definitely and highly recommended.
A wonderful walk and great way to learn about Local Vietnamese culture - you definitely need walking shoes it was very muddy and slippery in places however there are plenty of local village women to give you a helping hand
My wife and I had the pleasure of going on a tour of the mountains around Sapa, rice terraces, and into some of the local villages with Nhu as our guide. She was happy and bubbly throughout our whole hike. She’s part of the local Hmong tribe and gave us a good understanding of what it’s like to live in her village and of the local nature throughout the mountains. She’s truly a lovely person and it was a beautiful clear day for our hike along some gorgeous views. I’d highly recommend requesting Nhu as your guide. She’s still learning to expand her English speaking skills, but she’s only learned from tours and talking with tourists as she grew up, no professional training. It was amazing how well she could communicate with us knowing that. She made our Sapa visit all the more special. My wife’s knee really started bothering her on the way down and Nhu was very patient and attentive to her needs.
Tons of great views and great points to take pictures! This is a whole day of hiking step inclines and uneven surfaces. Approximately 6-7 hours of straight hiking. There are stops along the way but make sure you are in good shape physically or there’s no way you will be able to do this tour! The rice fields at the end were very Beutuful from the mountain above! That was worth it in itself. This was at the end of the tour on the way down the mountain. The Lunch was amazing and plenty of food!
My wife and I did the trek with Nhu as our guide. We had a great hike. Nhu provided a lot of good information for us on the hike. We are a couple in our 50s. Nhu was happy to slow down or take a break when she could tell we needed one. Lunch was at a small restaurant in a mountain village. The food was good and the portions were big. I highly recommend the hike. It was challenging, scenic and educational.
Excellent trail, beautiful nature, incredible views, and our guide Nhu, a local H'Mong guide, told us about life there and about her family. We were able to try traditional food, which was delicious, including rice from the Sapa terraces. Thank you so much for a great day.
Nhu was our lovely guide, she took us to her village and was very knowledgeable despite her young age. She took us to a non touristy trek which was very nice and shared a lot of her family and community life with us. The experience was very unique and beautiful. Thanks Nhu
Nhu was a wonderful guide, she explained really well her culture, their life in Sapa, the different regions and food. She was very kind and helpful all the time. Thank you!
It was extremely beautiful, the food was great, got a really cool view of the mountains, valley, bamboo forest, and rice paddies. Nhu was the perfect tour guide.
We had an amazing time with Nhu, who showed us around the towns and answered all questions. A great personality as well, I’d recommend to anyone!
My family of six had an amazing trek day with Toa. Incredible views! Great local lunch and plenty too! He shared many interesting things about his life and the Hmong culture. It can be a bit challenging to climb and descend into Muong Hoa Valley. But, overall, my family and I had such a great experience with Toa. He is a funny guide and took great care of us as we trekked through the mountains. I definitely recommend this hike.
We have a wonderful trekking lead by Nhu, the terrain is challenging yet we enjoyed the day. This is the activity for those who know how to appreciate Sapa's natural beauty and local culture
Had a great time hiking with Nhu. She took us up a beautiful mountain, for a nice lunch, through bamboo forests and rice paddies, telling us about the H'mong along the way. Would highly recommend!
Great experience. Very friendly guide with stunning scenery or mountains, rice fields and bamboo forests! Would recommend to anyone. Thanks Nhu!
What a beautiful trek!!! Toa a beautiful soul was so kind and took good care of me. I really thanks him for his patience and to do everything to make me feel comfortable and make me discover his mountains. I highly recommend this hike, the views are incredible, he even took me by the bamboo forest. Beautiful experience!!!
Was a lovely day seeing all the villages and views across Sa Pa. Would really recommend. Our tour guide was really amazing. Had the best time.
Was a great experience with Mhu! She was an awesome guide. Very insightful and a great day out altogether. Would definitely recommend.
This was an amazing hike and great experience! Great tour guide, super knowledgeable about sapa, very helpful and accomodating. The local food at lunch was amazing.
Excellent hike! Beautiful views. Nhu was a great guide and very helpful. The local lunch was very good.
It was such a great full days hike. We were a group of 6 and got plenty of breaks, photos and delicious lunch included. Our guide Nhu was amazing!!
Nhu was an amazing guide. Highly recommend the tour!! Such a great way to see sapa and learnt a lot about surrounding villages and life
The tour was perfect, our guide Nhu picked us up at our hotel and we took of on a trek from Sapa to the mountains. The views were amazing, so was the weather and we got a nice local lunch. We learned many interesting facts about the life and traditions of local people. Would 100% recommend that you take this tour if you find yourself in Sapa!
Tour was really great. I can definitely recomend. Our tour guide was super, take care of us. If you are in Sapa really do this tour. We were also lucky and had the best weather.
Nhu was great guide. Beautiful scenery and the best local food for lunch. Trail was nice, not too many other tourists. Thank you!
We booked a treking trip around villages on Sapa region. Treking was really nice. A bit hard to do a whole 4 villages trail (13 km walk). However, the guide adapt a speed of walk to ours needs. The views where amazing. After a trek we were invited for a diner to our guide house. It was an amazing experience of autenthic live in this region. Every thing was fresh ( we bought vegetables and near at a market before diner). Then everything was cooked on front of us. At the end we have a family diner with a family of our host. It was delicious and one of a time experience.
Great hike, beautiful views and our guide Nhu was helpful and patient. Would definitely recommend. If can start a bit earlier before gets too warm later in the afternoon would be ideal.
Very good hike through the rice fields! My guide was Nhu :) We had a lot of fun and she helped me throughout the whole tour. The food was also really nice.
Our tour with Nhu in Sapa was simply incredible! She guided us through three local villages, giving us a real and authentic look into daily life in the mountains. Nothing felt touristy — everything was genuine and heartfelt. Nhu is an outstanding guide, full of warmth, knowledge, and passion for her culture. She shared fascinating stories and made us feel welcome every step of the way. This day with Nhu was one of the highlights of our Vietnam trip and something we’ll always remember. If you want to experience the true spirit of Sapa, go with Nhu — she’s absolutely amazing! 🙏
We loved this experience - it was so great to trek in beautiful Sapa. Our tour guide Nhu was excellent, her English was great and she taught us so many things about the local people and local area. We would definitely recommend.
Nhu was AMAZING! So informative about the sight and culture. We had such an amazing time and would recommend her and this outing to anyone visiting Sapa! We felt so blessed to have her as our tour guide.
Our family had an amazing trekking experience with Sapa Odyssey Tour. The service was excellent, and the guide was extremely friendly and professional. We were truly satisfied and would definitely recommend them to others.
The tour was very great, Nhu, the tour guide, was so cute, funny and very professional…she was very special…thanks a lot Nhu!!!🙏🏻❤️
We had a wonderful day of trekking with Sinh. The scenery is amazing, but what we loved the most was his sharing cultural insights with us so we can learn about real life in Vietnam Sapa area.
Did a short 4 hour hike this morning with Tru. She was an excellent guide, so friendly and informative and her English was excellent. She took lots of photos for us in great spots. She was patient and kind. A well organized private hike. Highly recommend
Great experience with Mhu. The scenery is fabulous. Lunch was Great also. Very experienced guide who knew a lot about the area and local culture.
We had the most wonderful day of our 2 week holiday trekking over the mountain with Nhu!! She was just fabulous telling us about the Black Hmong people, their culture, unique language and the mountain. It started out uphill from our hotel in Sapa. She was extremely considerate about hiking ability. It is definitely for relatively fit and active people but doable for most. The countryside, views and local animals together with the Black Hmong people were a treat! We saw countless chickens, ducks, buffalo and horses. It only got better and better. We hiked over the top and through farms of cabbage, flowers, tomato and greens of all descriptions. We then went on to the restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch featuring village food with local produce. It was delicious!! The best part was yet to come. We traversed down towards the villages below passing through the bamboo forest, the Black Hmong people tending to their crops and harvesting corn for the animals for winter. They treasure their culture and traditions and haven’t compromised them in any way. We went on to the rice terraces filled with acres of rice nearing maturity and fields of corn. A dream come true for me. Thank you so much Nhu. It was beyond perfect!!!
