The trek was absolutely amazing, an experience for the whole life. Before starting, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to cope, but Tom and his assistants were kind and attentive, allowing me to walk at a pace that was comfortable for me.

Fun hiking tour up fansipan; Mr Cho was our guide and he is very friendly and patient with us. We also had an amazing home-cooked vietnamese-style dinner on the first night and this was easily the highlight of the trip. There are restrooms at the rest stops, albeit it being just bare minimum but at least the flush works - nothing to complain about on a hike. (Facilities are standard across the different tour groups if I understand correctly.) Highly recommended!
Trip was amazing. We did the 2 day Fansipan tour with an additional hike into the villages. Our guide Sinh was amazing and from one of the nearby villages so he know a lot. Communication with mr Tinh was easy and very good. Would recommend 10/10!
Very happy experience with Sapa Original Trek for our 2D1N hike, easy to navigate and book on their website with super fast confirmation from one of the operators, Mr Tinh. Emails and instructions were very clear with no issues in paying the deposit. Admission fee was reasonable (compared to nearby hikes like Mt Kinabalu). We had a friendly guide, Mr Chay, leading us the way and was very patient with our slower pace. He was able to answer our questions, speaks good English. Amazing meal cooked by the porter at the rest house! Even though our hike was mostly misty and cloudy, it made the hike cooler and a unique experience going through the clouds. We didn't get a fantastic clear view at the summit but it was all still an unforgettable experience with no regrets. Can't wait to go again soon!
Really rewarding experience! Mistakenly booked the wrong dates and was able to easily reschedule for the correct date. Next the hike was great, tour guide was informative and supportive along the hike. Would recommed
We did the 2-day Fansipan trek starting in Sin Chai. Mr Tinh at Sapa Original Trek organized a private trip for our family of 4 adults. It was very well planned and Mr Tinh was very attentive to our requests, responded quickly and met our expectations. He was very helpful even when we lad last minute requests. He also arranged the bus trip to Sapa from Hanoi.
Hiking to Fansipan Peak in a two -day trip is an absolutely fantastic experience. The company who organized our tour as well as our guide are both very professional. They have good English and everything is well organised, with attention to details. We organised pickup from Hanoi Airport and it took around 5 hours to reach our hotel in SaPa. Our hike started at around 10am the next day. We walked to camp one in around 1.5 hours and then they arranged a nice lunch with French bread. After lunch, the trail to camp two took 2.5 hours. After dinner, we slept early at around 7pm. We took breakfast at 4am the next day, and the 2-hour walk with head lights after breakfast was a bit challenging. We were lucky to see sunrise and it was such a wonderful experience! After taking lots of pictures, we head down all the way to the park entrance. The total walking time is around 8.5 hours in the second day.
Despite the rainy weather we had a really good experience with our guide Sing and the potter. They walked up like it was nothing. The food they prepared was amazing to!
We had an unforgettable two-day trekking experience with Sapa Original Trek and our amazing English-speaking guide Sinh. Our adventure started at 9:00 am in Sapa, where Sinh picked us up directly from our hotel. After a short ride to the company’s office, we completed the payment (part of it had already been paid in advance via OnePay) — payment was possible in USD, EUR, or VND. The team provided us with water for the entire trek and even some fresh bananas for energy. Then the hike began! Sinh and his colleague (who carried the food and sleeping bags) adjusted the pace perfectly to our fitness level and even cut bamboo sticks to help us with balance and grip. Along the way, we met another small group from Singapore and decided to hike together to the base camp. The base camp was simple but had everything we needed. We enjoyed a cozy evening with hot food, laughter, and great conversations. Sinh shared fascinating stories about the jungle, the mountains, and local culture — it made the experience even more special. At 3:30 am, we woke up for breakfast under a clear, star-filled sky. Starting our final ascent at 4:00 am, we reached the summit of Mount Fansipan at 6:00 am, just in time for a breathtaking sunrise above the clouds. We were there long before any cable car tourists arrived — it felt magical to have the peak all to ourselves. Sinh even surprised us with a medal and a certificate for reaching the summit! Because our legs were quite tired, we decided to take the cable car down (800,000 VND / about 26 € per person). Sinh joined us — he has an annual pass — and afterward, he arranged a taxi to bring us back safely to our hotel. The cable car ride offered a whole new perspective of the beautiful landscape. We can highly recommend Sapa Original Trek, and especially Sinh, for anyone looking for a genuine, caring, and professional trekking experience. Thank you for this amazing adventure — one we will never forget! – Lara & Jens
Nice trekking agency , nice trekking guide, delicious food, beautiful misty landscape, good weather, amazing sunrise view from the summit, a sky full of stars. Totally that was really nice experience for me.
Mr. Thinh was very responsive and helpful. The guide (Chay) was also kind and always made sure we were safe and moving at the same pace. The weather can change quickly, so clear skies aren’t guaranteed, but it was definitely worth it!
We did the 2 day Fansipan trekking with the friendly mr Chay, which was an amazing experience! We slept in a basic hut up the mountain which definitely had its charm. Be mindful that it is a lot of ascending on the first day! :). We are vegetarian and the food was really good, large portions and a lot of options. I would recommend booking this tour!
Trekking with Sapa Original Trek was amazing. The guide and our Porter went beyond everything for us, so we could have a good time. We got amazing food on the trek. A fresh Banh Mi, with chicken and egg and lots of salad and sauces. Afterwards we had an out of this world dinner on the campsite at 2800 m the guys prepared for us. One of the best meals I had in Vietnam. And that with limited options to cook. Trekking was good as well, sleeping at the campsite at approximately 2800 was very exciting. Out guide spoke very good English and was very patient with us while hiking. 100 percent recommend.
This 2 day trek was a great way to hike Fansipan and arrive at the summit and Buddhist complex before the cable car was open and avoid crowds. The hike up was an excellent way to experience different aspects of the mountain environment including the views, forest and climate. The guide was great - he was friendly and always available to assist when needed. The food provided as part of the tour was excellent. The overnight accommodation was basic but the camaraderie and food more than made up for it.
Perfectly well organized with caring and professional guides. Sapa Original Trek reserve a clean room and clean shower with hot water prior and after the trekking, which is highly recommended.
Mr Tinh handled all arrangements very well. Mr Choo and Mr Tung very patient and accommodating. Best food on mountain!!
Reason 1: Expert Guide and Porters The 2D1N trek from Tram Ton pass (1800m) to Fansipan Summit (3143m) presents a challenging terrain for my group of 9 ranging from 13yo to 56yo, but all of us reached the summit with the expert guidance and support from trekking guide, Mr Chay, and four porters. Reason 2: Exclusive Views Apart from enjoying the challenge and achievement of the trek, other compelling reasons to join an overnight trek over taking the cable car are: overnight trekkers 1) have the summit all to yourselves before the cable car crowd streams in from 8:00am. 2) get to enjoy the sunset view near/at base camp 3) get to be mesmerised by the sunrise view at the summit. Reason 3: Responsive to Needs And Sapa Original Trek is the team to trek with. Not only were we ably supported by Guide Mr Chay and the four porters, we were also provided with excellent support and advice from Mr Tinh, who was patient and comprehensive in his response to our questions. He supported us pre-, during, and post-trek to ensure that any questions and concerns were addressed in a timely way. He also flexibly arranged for our group to have the option for some of us to descend via cable car and some to trek down, with both groups having transport back to our hotel arranged. Reason 4: Sumptuous Meals The 2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast served by Mr Chay and the porters surpassed our expectation! It was a great spread of 1) pork and egg banh mi and fruits for lunches; 2) 1 bean curd, 2 meat, and 3 vegetable dishes for dinner; 3) chicken pho for breakfast. Thank you, Mr Tinh, Mr Chay and our team of porters. The 2D1N have been memorable!
We had a wonderful trip! Very flexible and accommodating guides, delicious food and would highly recommend to anyone! The facilities available at the end of the hike were fantastic, great to have a hot shower and a place to rest! For young women we felt completely safe the whole time and can’t speak highly enough of the experience :)
It was one of a lifetime trip, everything was so well organized. The hosts were immaculately hospital, we felt so comfortable and everything was really well taken care of. I can't recommend it enough, amazing!!!!
Really good host with a good English speaking tour guide. Very welcoming , made sure we had a private room to shower and rest after the home. The guide and porter cooked us amazing food throughout the 2 days. Really cool hiking experience. If you can though try to go in the dry season. On day 2 of the hike it was downpouring the entire way and we couldn't see the sunrise nor any views from the top just fog. If you're hiking for the views check the weather first.
This experience I won't never forget... Mr Tinh and his family, the team, have been so so nice, kind and make everything going perfect! I have to mention specially to Choo, the guide I've done the trekking with. He IS absolutely nice, good person, great cooker and always paying attention to help you and make you feel confortable. Really, I highly recomend doing the trekking with them, makes the experience unique🥰💚
Where do I start? From start to finish, both the office team and guides were simply fantastic - friendly, organised, happy to answer questions etc. Communication in the few days before was spot on. Meeting the guides (Silver and Xan) and beginning the trek was slick, all very simple and to plan. They only do private tours, which for us was perfect. The Bahn Mi, fruit and snacks during the days were tasty and more than adequate amounts. Dinner in the evening was a yummy hotpot! Dietary requirements are taken at the beginning of which we didn't have any. Rice wine and multiple sleeping bags is enough to keep anyone warm through the night! After the trek we had a nice hot shower and we're able to repack all bags ready for the night bus to Hanoi! We thoroughly enjoyed our two day adventure even if the view was masked by thick fog at the top. A huge thanks to all involved and I'd very much recommend these guys!
Our guide Sinh ( I think that is how it is spelled) was amazing... should definitely request for him! Very friendly. Pick up and drop off was smooth. Make sure you bring layers as housing on the mountain has no warm water or heat. Meals were very filling, but I would recommend bringing snacks as well although soma oranges and crackers were provided.
Mr. Tinh took excellent care of us. We arrived early by train from Hanoi, and he graciously allowed us to store our extra luggage. Hot showers were provided both before and after the hike. Throughout the trek, our guide, Sinh, ensured that our needs were well taken care of. The meal portions he prepared were very generous. He ensured we completed the challenging hike safely and was incredibly patient, allowing us to take as many breaks as needed. After the hike, Mr. Tinh ensured we were given a room to rest and recuperate before our train journey back. If you are seeking a guide for Fansipan, I highly recommend Mr. Tinh!
We had the most amazing time on our adventure up to Fansipan! Mr Sinh was the the best guide we could have asked for, he was polite, friendly, helpful and he gave us lots of information about Sa pa which was very interesting. The food was amazing, this was actually the best food I have had since being in Vietnam. I am a vegetarian and they made sure I had plenty of options. After a difficult nights sleep we made the decision to get the cable car back down in the morning. The walk was difficult but really worth it, and this has been the highlight of our trip so far! Many thanks to Sinh and Sue for everything!
I highly recommend this local tour operator! They are very accommodating and helpful! Not only during our stay in Sapa, but also the rest of our stay in Ha long and Hanoi Vietnam. They give tips and guide us on how to communicate with non english speaking local for our convenience specially when ordering food when dining.
The tour was perfectly organised from the beginning to the end. After being picked up at our homestay we could leave our heavy luggage at the office and start our tour together with Chay, our guide. For the climb on the first day he chose a beautiful small track through the woods away from the more frequented common path. We spent the night in the camp at 2.800m. Despite the good sleeping bags, they had for us, make sure to bring warm clothes as it really gets cold at night. After an early breakfast at 3:30 we were lucky with the weather and experienced a beautiful sunrise on Fansipan, that is absolutely worth getting up in the middle of the night! The whole tour was accompanied by great food they always prepared for us. Everything from snacks, lunch and breakfast, but our personal highlight regarding the food was the dinner together with our guides living the Vietnamese culture of sharing food around the table. Thanks for the great hike, sunrise and overall experience!
Challenging trek up, well worth the efforts! Our guide, Mr. Tinh, met us on time, was patient, engaging and provided a lot of extra knowledge along our hike about the area and his culture. Bonus: transportation to and from the mountain and a shower at the office was offered (which wasn’t with other tours thay I’ve noticed). 10/10 would recommend!
Trek up was strenuous with steep inclines but our guide, Mr. Tinh was very patient when we needed rest. He was friendly, engaging and shared a wealth of knowledge about the trail and his culture. Although the wake up for sunrise summit was earlier, it was well worth it! 10/10 would recommend.
Great experience! The guide, Chai, was excellent and very accommodating. Challenging climb, very steep at times. Sleeping accomodations very minimal but nice home cooked hmong meal.
If you are looking for an amazing adventure, this is it! Mr. Tinh was very detail oriented and even planned my bus from Hanoi then offered shower and rest after the trek at his office. My guide, Sing was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Meals were nice. Everything was done as advertised and I highly recommend it. Only suggestion I have is bring adequate clothes ( extra socks) for changes in weather and you will sleep on a hard wood floor with the sleeping bag so be prepared. You will love this trekking experience!
This trek was probably the hardest things I've ever done in my life but one of the most rewarding. We were a little unsure about trekking Fansipan but Mr Thinh's communication and helpful information helped ease our concerns. We travelled from Hanoi to complete this trek over a weekend and Mr Thinh even helped us to book the overnight train and very comfortable sleeper bus. The trek itself was amazing and we were blessed with great weather and an excellent English speaker guide (Cho). After the hike, Mr Thinh let us shower in his very very clean office and also gave some great recommendations of where to eat. We took the cable car down (have to pay seperately for this) and it was so comfortable and pleasant. I would recommend this trek to anyone visiting Sapa and looking for a rewarding challenge. The food provided along the trek was also amazing! Thank you Sapa Original Trek!
Our gide message us a day before the hike to ask is everything alright are we good to go. Gide picked us up from the hotel. Was hiking total 5h first day. Got snacks at the first rest stop. We stayed over night in the small house, they provided with sleeping bags and food. Next day we woke up at 3am,(to catch sunrise) had breakfast and started to hike up. Reach the summit at 5am. Hike wasn't that hard , definitely people who just train little bit can do it. 100% take with you a warm jacket, because early morning at summit is cold, also need to take a head light. Strong wind always!! We went down with cable carts, definitely worth ir as it is longest in the world. We was checking the weather of Fansipan in Googled so we know that it will not rain, so didn't took a rain coat.
The trekking experience and our guide Mr Sinh is just superb. The dinner prepared by Sinh was also amazing 🤤 and he is a good cook indeed. Overall experience is above and beyond!!! TRULY FIVE STARS RATED!!!! 💯💯
The whole experience was amazing with the best guide and porter! From hotel pickup all the way through the hike to the logistics back to Hanoi the team looked after us. We could not have asked for more.
Great adventure! Well planned! Testing of my personal limits. Thought I was fit enough for the trek but I was so wrong. The first day before reaching Base Camp 2 I thought I was going to pass out. But the Guide Chai and the silent porter were patient and encouraging. For the both of them, the trek seemed like a walk in the park. Chai often had his hands in his pockets while climbing over and between the boulders. While the silent porter carried our food, water and bedding all the way "without breaking a sweat"! A great 2D1N adventure with the most basic necessities for an overnight rest. NO electricity but there are toilets. Food cooked over a charcoal fire and there was quite a spread. They even catered 2 sleeping bags per person for us! Unfortunately, weather cannot be predicted and we were disappointed that there was thick fog at the summit so we couldn't see a thing! Maybe next time. Sincere thanks to Chai and our silent Porter. "Cảm ơn!"
We did the two day trek up Fansipan. Group of two with a porter and a guide. We spent the first day walking to the overnight camp, and got up at 4am on the second day to reach the summit for sunrise. We opted to catch the cable car back down so we could fit some more stuff into our schedule. Our guide Sing was very accommodating, answering our many questions and teaching us along the way about the surrounding nature, the trek, the local H'mong culture. We were provided with even more food and water than we could eat or drink. We were picked up and dropped off by our organiser Mr Tinh and were provided with a lock up for our things that we didn't want to take up the mountain. The 2 day hike allows you to go at a slower pace with regular stops, so its a tough walk in places but more than manageable. It was a fantastic experience, and we can wholeheartedly recommend this trek!
First time trekking in Vietnam and I made a right decision choosing Sapa Original Trek. Special thanks to Mr. Tinh for a prompt response, smooth booking process, recommendation and allowing me to shower and rest at your office while waiting for a bus back to Lao Cai. And thanks to my local guide, Mr. Chay for his well of knowledge about the mountain and be very patient with my hiking pace. It was an awesome experience!
It was a really great experience. Mr Tinh was very helpful organising everything, he answered every question we had very fast and even booked the train and bus tickets for us from Hanoi to sapa and back. Also our two guides where great. And the trekking itself - we got a bit unlucky with the weather, but apart from that it has been an unforgettable experience. So, if you thinking about climbing Fansipan we can highly recommend Original Trek.
it was a great experience! we had very nice and competent guides, delicious food and a beautiful sunrise.
I went alone trip. They give me a good services and nice guy to guide and support everything for me.
We did a 2-day trek up to Fansipan wanting to take it slow as we are not particularly fit . Mr Tinh was responsive in his correspondence with us, getting us the train tickets and also arranging for the trek. We arrived on the overnight train and were picked up at the train station (collective pick up). The driver dropped us in town where we met Tinh who brought us to have breakfast and then to his office/house where we could take a shower after being on the overnight train for a fresh start. It also gave us time to do some repacking and pay the rest of the sum for the trek. We paid in US dollars and were given change in USD. Sing was our guide and he speaks English well thus we learnt much from him throughout the trip and had lively conversations which made a difference. sWe really appreciate his company. s The trek up may take some time especially in December when the soil/rocks can be a little muddy and slippery. We met a few people attempting a day hike coming down along the way . Most of them chose not to continue to the summit after reaching the base camp. Therefore it will be best to start in early morning instead of the afternoon if you are planning a day hike. It was cloudy in December so there is no gurantee of a view or sunrise. If you are on a day hike, you might have better luck in the afternoon at the peak. If you are on a 2 day trek like us, you can take your time up the mountain as there is nothing much at the base camp.
The owner, Tinh, is very responsive to the queries. Offer good service and great hospitality from pick up until sending us off. Our guide, Minh, is observant, nice to communicate with. Self-learnt English and convey the message well. A happy guy leads a simple life. His brother and him is a good chef too, collect the ferns and spices along the way and prepare us meals. Kind of luxurious hike for me and my partner. But, hopefully everyone (hikers, guides, authorities) can take own part in maintaining the well-built mountain huts/shelters. Otherwise, it will be a waste after some times. Definitely will recommend Sapa Original Trek to others.
Our guide, Mr. Sinh took good care of us thru out the trek. We had a vegetarian in our group and he ensure that we had options in our meal. The descend from fansipan were harder as it had rained the night before. He stayed back when we were trailing behind to make sure that we don’t slip and fall. Lastly, we would also like to thank Mr. Minh for bringing back our walking stick which we had left behind in the ranger station. We are incredibly grateful to both for making our trip memorable.
We have great experience with original sapa Trek for outer 2 days fanxipan Trek via sinchai Village. From booking the tour to arrangement of transport is very smooth. Mr tinh (the boss), takes good care of us. He made sure we had breakfast on arrival sapa before the hike. The porter ming and his uncle xing ensure our safety and had pace us really well so that we can arrive the base camp the sky become dark. They also make very good meals.
The pacing from our guide Mr Minh was adequate as he is always checking in with us frequently to see if we need any break whilst making sure we could arrive at the different points (lunch, night rest base camp) in time. Woke up at around 4am to prep for the last climb to summit & was really windy which add onto the coldness. Beautiful clear sky to catch sunrise in time for us.
The entire process was seamless. Mr Tinh’s response was very prompt prior to the trip, and was very accommodative to our request. Our tour guide, Mr Chay took great care of us during the trip.
The guide good take care of us. We are very impressed. we will come back again and will recommend to friends as well
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to sapa. It was a truly magical journey and well worth the effort of making it to the top. The guide Minh was a lovely fella with very good english who filled us in about the local knowledge of the area. We also had a porter who carried up a lot of the gear we used over the two days. Some tips on what to bring: No need for snacks (the guys feed you so much its amazing) Trekking shoes not 100% essential but are a bonus (we did it in running shoes) A good hat, gloves, warm coat and a raincoat would be essential items in my eyes. Get a bamboo walking stick as you go up as it will help in the later more steep stages of the hike.
First of all, it was a great experience and we would totally do it again! We first thought about climbing Mt Fansipan on our own in one day and then either go down the same way or take the cable car down. But we didn't find much information about it and no maps. Also we weren't too sure if there would be many people and how the conditions of the path would be after almost two years without tourists. So if you are having the same thoughts: the path is rather easy to find and if you are fit, and climbed mountains before you can go up by yourself, but to go up and down in one day means hiking for around 12 hours and I would only recommend this option to really experienced hikers. If you plan to take the cablecar, you should inform yourself when the last ride goes and know that they don't sell single way tickets, so it's quite expensive! We decided to go with a guide and enjoy the slightly longer two day hike and didn't regret it. We contacted Mr Tinh and communication with him was easy and straightforward. He organised everything the day before. We then started at Xin Chai village with our guide Mr Singh and another guy who carried the food and sleeping bags for us. On the first day we hiked to a camp at around 2700m where we spend the night. The next day we got up at 3:30am to start early to be at the summit for sunrise. Unfortunately it was very misty so we only saw some orange clouds, but after waiting for a while the clouds went away and we had a nice view. Also it was very good to be there early enough before all the tourists from the cablecar arrive! We hiked down to the Tram Ton pass where Mr Tinh picked us up. We had a good time, Mr Singh is a very good guide, he's nice, speaks English very well and told us a lot about the mountain.
