Chu and Tu were our guides for a group of five, including three from our family. Both were on time, friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and spoke English well, with one being self-taught. They did a great job managing the different paces in our group, checking on everyone through the more difficult sections without slowing anyone down. They provided water and snacks at the start, and at base camp we enjoyed chicken pho, pears, tea, and coffee. We also enjoyed hearing their personal stories along the way. Sometimes guides, especially when required, can feel like more of a hindrance than a benefit, but Chu and Tu made the hike more enjoyable and were well worth the cost. They also accommodated those who wanted to hike back down or take the tram, with transportation back to the starting point either way. Great team. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Mister Chu was extremely friendly and made sure everything went perfectly. A big thank you to him for everything he did. We won't forget it!
Mang was a terrific guide! My frineds and I had a great time completing the hike and seeing Fansi Pan
The Fansipan trek was the highlight I looked forward to the most when planning my trip to Vietnam. I want to say a huge thank you to Chu, the most amazing tour guide I have ever had. From the initial booking—where he responded to my messages as quickly as possible—to the day of the hike, when he picked me up directly from my hotel. Even after the hike, he dropped us off at Sapa Church, which was just a convenient 15-minute walk back to my accommodation. I was originally supposed to be the only participant on this trek. However, when five other tourists wanted to join, Chu checked with me first to make sure I was comfortable with it. I gladly said yes. He also reassured me that even if I couldn't keep up with the others, he would wait for me—and he truly kept his word, staying by my side from the very start of the trail all the way to the summit. It is really worth the money to do this trek, especially if you have a good guide. The trail up and down is a bit challenging, but every time you see the view—especially when you reach the top—it is totally worth the sweat and money.
We had a really wonderful time hiking Fansipan with Chu! The pickup in the morning was easy and uncomplicated and everything was well organized. Chu was super friendly and we felt comfortable with him from the beginning. Along the way, he explained a lot, told us about himself and always made sure everyone was doing well and that nobody was left behind. One of our highlights was the lunch break after about three quarters of the hike. We stopped at a small hut and Chu cooked a really delicious meal for us. Vegetarian food was no problem at all. We also had freshly cut fruit and, since it was getting a bit cold, hot coffee and tea. There were also snacks along the way. The hike itself is beautiful and definitely a bit challenging, but with a good level of fitness absolutely doable and so worth it! Reaching the top was already a great feeling, but Chu made it even more special. We received a really beautiful medal, a certificate for completing the hike and even a scarf as a souvenir from him. We had such a great day with Chu and would 100% recommend doing the Fansipan hike with him. Thank you, Chu! 😊
We had a fantastic day with Chu and his brother. Before going we where in doubt if it was worth the money, but even with absolutely no view at all from the top due to clouds, it was worth every penny. The weather was nice, so the hike was pretty easy even for non-experienced hikers - although of course it was tough for the legs. There was water, snacks and a great lunch all provided by Chu. We also got time to talk to Chu about his life in Sapa growing up which was very insightful. We hiked as part of a bigger group, and no-one was left behind. We all took the cable car back down after. All in all super fun day.
Trekked up to Fansipan this morning with Chu Weather not great, but a very memorable hike Collected on time and off we went on the adventure Tough climb, but well guided and accommodated by Chu Middle third was the most challenging But then we stopped for a break and Chu cooked up a very hearty meal with some dragon fruit and coffee and we were good to go again Final third went a lot quicker with Chu sharing his knowledge and experience Brilliant experience and well worth it with a great guide
just awesome, great guides, great food and great fun
Had an amazing 1-day trek up Fansipan with Chu! He was friendly, patient and took great care of us throughout the hike. The food he prepared was also so good, definitely not what I expected on a mountain trek! Highly recommend him if you’re looking for a guide for Fansipan. Thank you for making the experience so memorable!
I had a great trek with Chu. We were also lucky enough to have amazing weather. Chu also made us lunch & a coffee at the half way point. You will need to bring your jumper/ jacket & maybe a rainproof jacket when you get to the summit (as temperature changes). Also advise for others it does require a bit of fitness as there is a lot of steps (climbing altitude). The experience was very fulfilling & rewarding & I recommend. Thanks Chu for the day!
Chu is a truly amazing guide! We had a very nice (but also very demanding hike). He and his wife took exquisite care of us and always made sure that we’re fine. For those who didn’t want to hike down, there was an option to take a cable car (additional fee).
Chu was a wonderful tour guide! He told me different stories throughout the hike. He was also patient and waiting whenever I needed rest. He prepared water and banana for the hike also and took great photos without asking him to. The lunch he made was really good, egg pho! It tasted really great. Would recommend booking chu!
Great experience really well organised, the guide set the pace and didn’t leave anybody behind if they were struggling.
Chu was a great tour guide during my 1 day hike to Fansipan Mountain with some hikers. He’s attentive, and shows great knowledge of the flora within the lush forests. He even brought good snacks and fruits, and prepared a nice lunch for us. Overall, I had an amazing experience climbing the highest mountain in Vietnam with Chu as our local guide. Highly recommended to everyone! Will definitely come back again.
Chu is the best guide ever Take care of u from the start to finish Only chu!!!! Thnks soo much for such a great track…
I had an amazing experience with our guide. Being on the slower side within our 2-people group, our guide made sure I wasn’t too far behind and would wait here and there without making me feel bad. You won’t regret booking with Chu or his brother!
My friend and I recently booked a one-day hike up Fansipan, and having Chu as our guide made all the difference. From the start, Chu was incredibly patient and completely accommodated our slow pace, ensuring we never felt rushed. The trail itself was mostly a jungle trek and quite muddy in sections, but Chu went above and beyond to make sure we were equipped—he even fabricated a custom bamboo walking stick for us, which was an absolute lifesaver on the slippery terrain! When the weather turned and it started raining, Chu was right there with ponchos to keep us dry. He also thoughtfully brought along energy snacks to keep our fuel levels up throughout the day. To top it all off, he surprised us with a delicious, self-prepared home-cooked lunch on the mountain that tasted incredible after hours of hiking. Highly recommended! Thankyou Chu
Trekking with Chu and my two young group mates was a fantastic experience. It was a hard trek for my age, but Chu was an incredible guide. He cooked delicious meals along the way and constantly cheered me on while keeping a great pace for me. Finally, I made it all the way to the top thanks to everyone's support.
This was one of the best hikes I’ve ever done. I booked a trip to Vietnam and came across this trek on TikTok, and I’m so glad I did. Our local guide was incredibly accommodating and always responded quickly to any questions. Everything was well organized, and they provided great meals, snacks, drinking water, and even raincoats, which made the whole experience so much easier. It was absolutely worth every penny. Such an unforgettable experience, and I’d definitely do it again if I ever return to Vietnam.
The really nice and helpful guide Chu helped me to refund my booking because I was so sick in the morning. The hike is really long and I feel like it’s a justified price for what you get out of the tour. I definitely consider to book it again one day because of the nice guide and the value of the tour👍🏼❤️
I had a wonderful time trekking with Chu. He took many wonderful photos during the trek. I was only one that sign up that day so there was an extra fee for solo travelers. But going solo means that I was able to go as fast or as slow as I want. And Chu was very accommodating with my pace. He also prepared an amazing lunch for me. Even the other group was commenting on what a feast I was having.
Chu was a fantastic guide: he is meticulous in his preparation and provides you with everything you need for the hike - gear, snacks, and a delicious lunch. He is a patient and helpful guide and a pleasure to talk to as you embark on this (at times) grueling climb. Cannot recommend him enough! Thank you Chu!
I'm from Indonesia, and I did the Fansipan trek with Chu. I can confidently say that his service was outstanding. He provided everything I needed for the trek, including trekking poles, gloves, water, snacks, and lunch. His price was very affordable, but the quality of his service exceeded my expectations. I'm a slow hiker, and he was incredibly patient. He always waited for me whenever I needed to stop and rest along the trail, and he never made me feel rushed. Before we reached the summit, he even cooked a delicious meal with generous portions and served fresh fruit. It was the perfect energy boost before the final climb. I highly recommend Chu to anyone planning to trek Fansipan. He's professional, caring, patient, and truly goes the extra mile to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.
What an amazing experience - made even better with our guide Chu. The walk is challenging but rewarding - even if the view is obscured by mist and fog when you finally get to the top. Chu made sure to always check in on us as we were climbing making sure we took the safest route. With lunch, water and snacks provided we did not go hungry! We had such a great experience with Chu that we organised for he and fellow guide Poa to take us on a motorbike tour the following day. We took local roads to the little villages below Sapa (Cat Cat and Lao Chai) as well as the local 'Love Waterfall'. Stopping so many times along the way to take photos of the terraced rice fields and locals going about their day - a photograph opportunity at every turn. Highly recommend booking Chu's tours.
I booked this experience as an “open” tour but finally nobody join so it was like a private tour and I enjoyed it so much. The communication before the hike was great and Chu answer all my question really quickly. The pick-up and the return to my hotel was also great. Then the hike it self was amazing. Even if the weather wasn’t on our side (Chu was prepared for that) I had a great time. A special mention for the warm lunch really really good and for the snacks:) Would 100% recommend.
Chu was such an incredible guide, from picking me up in the morning to starting the trail, providing trekking gear and being so patient when i needed breaks all the way up. He made me a delicious lunch and provided water and snacks the entire time, his knowledge of the Sapa region including his village and the plants on the mountain was amazing. The hike was challenging but Chu made me feel safe and comfortable the whole time i really recommend. :)
I can highly recommend the 1-day Fansipan tour with Chu! From start to finish, Chu was an exceptional guide - kind, attentive, and great at setting a steady pace while regularly checking in to make sure I was doing okay. He truly went above and beyond: picking me up and dropping me back to my hostel, providing water and snacks during rest stops, and cooking a delicious Chicken Pho for lunch - the perfect warm-up mid-hike! A hot cup of coffee was a lovely touch too. Although the weather was foggy, the trek was a fantastic physical challenge and Chu's company made it all the more enjoyable. He clearly takes enormous pride in looking after his guests, which was perfectly summed up by the heartwarming moment at the summit - a celebratory medal and certificate to mark the achievement! If you're thinking about tackling Fansipan, you won't regret booking with Chu!
Chu was amazing! He was clear with communication before the tour, set the perfect pace, provided endless snacks, cooked a delicious lunch and encouraged me to the top! He was lovely to chat to, kindly sharing his knowledge of the area and his life story and took some amazing photos for me, that prove how challenging the climb was! I can’t recommend Chu enough as your guide to climbing fansipan, he made it so achievable and enjoyable!!
The hike was lovely. Even with the downpour of rain we made it to the top. CHU was professional and organized and I really enjoyed hearing about his life and family and the area.
We had a phenomenal time with Chu as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He prepared us a delicious lunch and always checked in on us throughout the hike. The views were incredible and the trail was very fun with some light scrambling at times. There were lots of stairs and hikers need to be in relatively good shape. We did decide to take the cable car down as we took 5.5 hours to summit not including lunch. The hard work was well worth it and I would highly recommend hiking with Chu!
Chu was an amazing guide and very patient with our slow pace. He is very friendly and explained a lot about Sapa and Fansipan. He also prepared good snacks and lunch to keep us moving. We can highly recommend.
The guide was great, and the trek was really beautiful! The guide spoke great English and was willing to share his own life experiences living in his village. The value for the money was great, as we got to go with a small group of people. The guide brought mango and dragon fruit for us to have for lunch, as well as Pho that was made on a nearby campsite to the peak. He provided lots of water and snacks! I’d really recommend for the person who wants to hike in Sapa without feeling like they’re on a tour!
We had a fantastic day with Chu. He was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and patient with our beginner-level abilities. He guided us safely up the mountain while sharing lot of interesting facts about Sa Pa and Fansipan along the way. Throughout the trek, we felt very well looked after and supported. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sapa.
My guide was Chu, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Even though I was the only person participating in the hike, he made me feel safe, comfortable, and completely at ease the entire time. Along the way, he shared fascinating knowledge about the forest and was always patient and respectful whenever I needed to take a break. He consistently checked in to make sure I was okay and also took amazing photos for me throughout the hike. I truly loved having Chu as my guide and wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.
Excellent trek to Fansipan Peak! Did the Full Day Fansipan Hiking Challenge and it was one of the best parts of our Sapa trip. Chu, our guide, was super supportive and made sure we all had a great time on the walk. We did a group trek and he made sure to give everyone equal attention. His wife, Soi, served us food and even joined us for a good part of the trek. She was really sweet to us. The trail had some tough sections but the scenery was breathtaking, especially at the summit. Everything was well managed. Definitely recommend this tour.
Sehr anstrengend!!! Tolle Natur, tolle, steile Strecke, einfach cool. Wir hatten nur leider 0, gar keine Sicht.
An incredible experience with a top-notch team! Perfect organization, top-notch support, and unforgettable memories at the summit of Fansipan. I recommend it 100%!
Moderate to strenuous tour (approx. 2000 meters in altitude) up and down the Fansipan. There is the option to take the cable car down from the summit, which would make the fitness level more moderate. The tour leads through the Hoang Lien National Park with varied terrain. Sometimes there are steps, stones, ladders, or light scree to climb. Unfortunately, fog dominated the Fansipan during our tour, which is why we could only admire the beautiful views on the way down. Choose appropriate clothing for the tour and it is better to have more rather than too little weatherproof clothing with you. Chu and his brother guided us pleasantly and showed or explained things to us every now and then. There are several small break opportunities and a lunch at a mountain station. Full recommendation for hiking enthusiasts or outdoor lovers.
The ascent of Fansipan was one of the highlights of my trip. The tour was excellently organized and offered the perfect mix of challenge, nature experience, and unforgettable views. A big thank you to our guide Chu, who made the hike a special experience with his expertise, motivation, and friendly manner. I felt very well taken care of throughout the entire tour. I can recommend this tour to anyone who wants to face an exciting challenge and experience the impressive mountain landscape of Vietnam up close. The effort is worth it – the moment at the summit is simply priceless.
Chu was a fantastic guide. Very attentive to every request, smiling and cheerful. He also shared his knowledge about the places, which was very pleasant. He also offered me a very good lunch as well as many snacks. I recommend him 100%!
I was able to spend one of the most beautiful days of my life with a great tour guide, Chu in northwest Vietnam. I have received every support from him, even he has cooked me a delicious and toning lunch too.
Beautiful hike, challenging trail Condition and surefootedness one should have and the desire for steps of any kind
The hike to Fansipan was incredibly great, but also exhausting. I would describe them as demanding, definitely brings good basic fitness. Our guide was super nice, cooked us lunch, was generally very considerate and adjusted the pace of the group. Very happy again 😊
