Itinerary
A true São Paulo classic since 1968, best known for its iconic pork sandwich and old-school downtown bar atmosphere. It is one of those places that captures the city’s popular food culture in a very direct way.
Galeria Metrópole is a landmark modernist building in downtown São Paulo that now blends food, design, art, and creative businesses. The juice kiosks make for a light, everyday local stop inside one of the center’s most distinctive cultural spaces.
A Brazilian restaurant inside Galeria Metrópole led by chef Amanda Vasconcelos, with strong Acrean and Amazonian influences. It is a great stop to showcase regional Brazilian ingredients in a contemporary downtown setting.
A small and very charming spot in the Copan building focused on artisanal pão de queijo made with Canastra cheese and inspired by Minas Gerais tradition. It feels simple, comforting, and very local.
A collaborative initiative in central São Paulo focused on family farming, organic produce, and fairer connections between growers and consumers. It is a strong example of how small producers and urban food culture meet in the city center.
One of São Paulo’s most celebrated restaurants, built around pork-focused Brazilian cuisine and ingredient traceability. It represents a more contemporary and chef-driven side of the city’s food scene while staying deeply rooted in local identity.
A casual cheese shop and deli known for artisanal cheeses, sweets, and cachaças, with a strong Minas Gerais feel. It works well as a stop for introducing small producers and traditional Brazilian pantry items.
An artisanal ice cream shop focused on handmade Brazilian and seasonal flavors, including vegan, lactose-free, and no-sugar options. It is a nice way to highlight local ingredients through a more modern dessert stop.
A traditional produce market known for its wide selection of carefully chosen fruits, vegetables, and everyday grocery staples. It offers a good glimpse into the fresher, more routine side of São Paulo’s food culture.
A relaxed neighborhood bar known for its authentic boteco spirit, cold drinks, and classic bar snacks. It is a great stop to show the social, informal side of São Paulo’s drinking and snacking culture.

Marcela was AMAZING! She was a fantastic guide with so much information on the area and food. She shared a lot of history and great spots with us!
Absolutely loved this one! Come hungry, I couldn’t eat it all. São Paulo is a great food scene and this one hits traditional and specialized stops. Marcela was an excellent guide, and though local, she’s also lived in London and Italy. She provides great context. She also has an endless supply of great recommendations. I was solo and paid for the double to meet the minimum 2 person requirement. Would do it again!
It was a pleasure to have Marcela as guide. Great explanations, excellent attitude, and the food was very original and tasty. Highly recommend.
Great time with Ronaldo, highly recommend this experience
Marcela was such an amazing guide, so knowledgeable and the food we tried was fantastic! I couldn’t recommend this tour more, she made us fall in love with São Paulo and we found out so much about the city and Brazil’s history all while exploring areas off the beaten track and enjoying delicious food! A must experience for anyone visiting São Paulo!
Great experience! Andre was nice explaining all the steps and cultural views from the Brazilian food. Definitely recommend the experience.
We had a fantastic time on this São Paulo food crawl. Marcella was incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. As someone who regularly seeks out Michelin-starred restaurants, I especially loved that she matched that energy and we were able to really nerd out over fine dining experiences together. Every traditional dish we tasted was excellent, and the pacing of the tour was perfect—well-curated and never rushed. Highly recommend!
It was a joy to spend an evening with Marcela! It felt like going around town with a very knowledgeable friend!
It was an outstanding group of people. The variety of food and restaurants was perfect. Our guide was very knowledgeable both in the food andthe history of São Paulo. It was the most enjoyable evening.
Marcela was an amazing tour guide! She provided us with a ton of facts about local fruits and vegetables in a grocery store before walking the streets of São Paulo. During our tour we sampled traditional pastel, pork nuggets, hot dogs, dulce de leche donuts and one of the best pork sandwiches you have ever tasted. If you are visiting São Paulo make sure you take a food tour with Marcela.
Marcela is great. Filled with information about food, culture, history. We had great time sampling food and great conversations…like traveling with a local friend!
Great walk with some very intresting and tasty food.
Marcela was amazing. She introduced us to some great local spots, while giving us some history of the area as well as the local foods. This was a wonderful warm welcome to São Paulo.
I had an immersive experience! Marcela was full of knowledge and positivity. I strongly recommend booking this tour!
Andres was amazing and so helpful in supporting the group! Amazing experience!
So much fun. Make your own capirinhas were amazing.
Marcela curated an amazing walking food tour. I've been on other tours in multiple cities and this one was by far the best. She took us to a variety of neighborhoods (each with its own personality) and introduced us to places that were true gems in the local culinary scene. Would absolutely recommend her for those visiting and want to try all the local Sao Paulo favorites!
Marcela was WONDERFUL!! Loved everything we ate!
Marcella was an accommodating and knowledgeable guide who gave us the opportunity to experience some of São Paulo’s best street food. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Great tour - such good food and a brilliant host. Got to try food we wouldn’t have and found some real hidden gems
Incredible experience, had a wonderful time and will do again
Marcela is a fantastic guide - very interesting and easy to talk with. This tour is a great way to see the city safely at night. Marcela spent 4hrs taking us through lively neighborhoods; none of the stops were overly crowded or touristy. Everything was delicious - so much food we had to take leftovers!
A very fun and informative tour. And you get to try out many of the local specialities. Go with an empty tummy. You will not leave the tour hungry!
I enjoyed the tour. Got to sample different local fruit. Trying Mortadella sandwich and pork sandwich was the highlight as they local to and the taste of São Paulo. A couple of stops we where meant to go to where not open though. That was a bit annoying. Tour probably could have been a bit better organised. But I ate as much as I possibly could. So finished happy. Marcela was an informative guide.
Marcella was the very best tour guide, ever!! We got to try so many amazing foods and her knowledge of the city was great. We had an absolute BLAST! 10/10 cannot recommend enough!!!
The tour guides were amazing. Lots of personality. We had a great group of people. I highly recommend this tour.
This was such a great experience to try many Brazilian foods. Had a great time and our guide Marcela was fantastic.
Been on several int’l food tours and each has been different. This one felt like an old friend from university was taking us for a walk around her much loved neighborhood. All very casual stops: sandwich shops, a juice bar (the “drinks” mentioned in the experience write up) , a cheese shop, ice cream and a grocery store (chocolates). Our guide was passionate about her community and eager to share what she knows. This tour had a lot of walking. It was clear that most of the establishments selected were not formal partners in the tour and no specific accommodation was made for our arrival but because there were only 2 of us on the tour things moved at a nice pace. I would recommend that the write up more accurately reflect the very casual experience. Most assume “drinks” would mean more than one opportunity would include wine or some other alcoholic option. There needs to be specific timing and locations for bathroom breaks. The grocery store visit was actually very interesting and might an optimal first stop so that participants can better connect with the food they taste on tour. Anyone looking for a laid back neighborhood experience would enjoy the tour.
Andre is a great guide- very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He was also very communicative before our tour. He was easy to understand and you could tell he enjoyed his job.
5 out of 5, highly recommend!!
This is one of the best food tours ever! Our guides, Andre and Joao, are amazing. They were very knowledgeable and took time to engage with all the guests. In addition, the food was not only delicious but we were provided a wide array of food samples representing Brazil. There were also lots of samples and the food quality was exceptional. I highly recommend this tour.
This was a very informative and fun tour. Joao and Andre were great hosts. Our entire group enjoyed the experience.
Marcela made this a fantastic food experience! First we missed our flight and had to reschedule and she was most accommodating. The food on the tour was the best from the first stop to the last. Marcela explained the history of the dishes and her local knowledge made everything simply taste better—I highly recommend Marcela and this tour!
One of the best food tours we have ever experienced!! Marcela was the absolute best host— we experienced the taste as well as the culture of São Paulo
the tour food was absolutely delicious the tour guide was super nice a true naive and knew her neighborhood. the tour was a little long so you get your money’s worth for sure. Marchella was fun, easy going and knowledgeable.
Excellent food tour. Also lots of information on the local culture.
All though we were late our host/guide very generous and got on track with the tour. We started with chocolate and ice cream ( I would have liked to have started with the more hardy tasting and the sweets for last). The tasting were very good and on target with Brazilian’s culture. A lot of walking worked out the consumed calories.
João is a great entertainer and know his way around the crawl. I very much enjoyed the experience and all the peculiarity of details he adds.
This was the first thing I did on my first day in Brazil (first solo trip may I add), and it was an amazing way for me to start my trip! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and introduced to so many foods, drinks, and history of the food!
Had an amazing time, more of a bar crawl than a food tour but it was amazing. João was great!!
The chefs, André and João, are great people. They are funny and make you feel at home in the kitchen. The food you make is amazing and you come away with some great new recipes and an appreciation for Brazilian food. I highly recommend to anyone who's travelling, especially solo travellers, as you get one of those uniquely fun experiences you're looking for. If I come back to São Paulo I would like to take another class :)
Chef Ronaldo did a great job. He is a wealth of knowledge regarding food and food culture. We had a fantastic time!
Go grocery shopping with a Chef. Being from a different country it opened my eyes as to how selections are made. More than that Chef Andre took the time to explain everything. Go back to the kitchen, have a drink and start cooking. Chef stayed close and taught us all different methods to cut, peel and create. The food was incredible. Had to roll me back to the hotel and there were still leftovers. For the price this is an excellent bargain if you ever wanted to cook dinner with a chef and learn about Brazilian food. So glad I went.
João was an excellent guide very knowledgeable of food and neighborhoods of São Paulo. We had many different foods and drinks and everything was delicious.
Fantastic experience!! So much great food. We felt like we really got to experience Brazilian culture. Ronaldo was amazing and friendly. He spoke perfect English so no need to worry about a language barrier. Stops were flexible and likely to change but allowed for the best experience
Sensational barbecue and its side dishes class, and Chef André was out of this world with his knowledge and didactics.
We had a great evening food walk with Marcela, who offered us an exciting and varied insight into the culinary arts of Sao Paulo with funny anecdotes and interesting information. Would love to do it again!
Unique experience with various Brazilian delicacies. We were in a bakery, chocolate shop and at the fruit market. We tasted between 15-20 different fruits. Marcela, our guide, did a great job.
Marcelo showed us the streets of Sao Paolo and street food restaurants where we tasted Brazilian specialties.
