Long drive, but beautiful views and lovely weather. Osmar was a great guide and we had a pleasant day. Worth the time.

Serene botanical garden offering a variety of flora & fauna, plus labyrinths, eateries & events.
The tourist heart of Campos do Jordão, Vila Capivari is the right place for those who want to enjoy what the mountains offer in gastronomy, leisure, rest, entertainment in scenarios that refer to the great European destinations. It is impossible not to stroll through the streets of Vila Capivari and marvel at the architecture reminiscent of Europeans, which give highlights to houses, hotels, inns and shops, and which are complemented by trees mostly formed by araucarias and plantains. , a diversity of flowers that stand out among the charm of the mountains.
Pico do Itapeva is ideal for contemplating nature, is at 2,030 meters altitude, and you can see 15 cities, all of the region of the Paraiba Valley, among them the most famous is the city of Aparecida (due to the large number of faithful visiting the basilica). Know the names of the cities: Tremembé, Taubaté, Caçapava, Sao Jose dos Campos, Pindamonhangaba, Guaratinguetá, Aparecida, Roseira, Lorraine, Potim, Cruise, Picket, Moreira Cesar, and Eugênio de Melo.
Imagine an area of 8,300 hectares of unspoilt nature, with centuries-old araucaria, hiking trails, diverse wildlife, picnic areas and more. This is Campos do Jordao State Park, also known as Horto Floresta
Several man-made waterfalls & showers accessed by wooden decks with nearby stalls selling souvenirs.
With a cinema-worthy landscape, Elephant Hill is one of the most visited tourist spots in the city. Its curious name comes from the curves that form the mountain. When viewed from afar, the hill resembles the outline of an elephant. The summit of Elephant Hill reaches an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level, providing an unforgettable panoramic view of the city. The place has a beautiful garden and a beautiful square. And it's part of the lookout where thousands of people pose for photos all year long. In this unforgettable view you can see the entire Vila Capivari, part of Alto do Capivari among other neighborhoods of the city, and several mountains that are lost in the horizon. Access to the tourist spot can be done in two ways: by asphalt road or by cable car.
In a sensorial experience the visitor is invited to know the whole process of manufacturing the most appreciated craft beer in Brazil.

If we could rate this 10 stars we would. There were four of us and I had researched day trip tours to Campos Do Jordao and this one stood out as it was a small group and the reviews were really good. We had Isaac as our tour guide and it was just my husband, his daughter, her husband, and myself. Isaac speaks perfect English and is a wealth of knowledge. It was a long drive there but we had some fun conversations learning all about Brazil from Isaac. Throughout the day Isaac made the itinerary flexible so we could stop when we were hungry and spend more time at places we were more interested in. We did everything on our list and had such an awesome time from the beautiful botanical gardens to the view from Itapeva Peak, to the Castles, the man made waterfall, beer tour and tasting at Cervejaria Baden Baden, late lunch at Safari in Vila Capivari, to the cable ride up Elephant Hill, then ending at the Chocolate Factory. It was a day of making memories and for our family priceless. We highly recommend this tour and ask for Isaac to be your tour guide!
Long road but very picturesque. Great idea of little Europe in Brazil. Lots to see, buy gifts. You will enjoy
We were not looking forward to being stuck in a minivan with a bunch of people all day- especially the 6 hours of driving. Somehow I booked a private tour- and it was perfect. Isaac was our tour guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Not only did he speak fluent English, but he was very engaging. He let us take our time when we wanted, and hit all the spots in Campo and several surrounding areas. My recommendation- take a private tour and ask for Isaac!
We had a great day with Pedro exploring Brazil's "Switzerland." Pedro was an excellent guide, fun to be with, and provided lots of wonderful suggestions for lunch and chocolate tasting. The drive to and from is long, but it allowed for lots of good conversation and learning. A very enjoyable day.
Juliana was an amazing guide and made our experience a memorable one. She was knowledgeable, fun, entertaining and an amazing driver! It was great to spend a full day away from the hustle and bustle of SP and enjoy the beautiful countryside.
We had a fantastic day with Juliana! She was fun, knowledgeable and entertaining! Loved seeing all the sights and spending a lovely day outside the hustle and bustle of Sao Paulo!
The town is cute, but not sure it is worth the long drive and traffic. Plus, our driver had some issues with air conditioning. The town is charming, but you don’t get much time there if you want to come back the same day.
Isaac was a great guide. He was prompt, attentive and patient (especially given the holiday traffic we endured)! He had attended school in the US, so his English was impeccable. This is a 10-hour tour (including ~2 hours each way between São Paulo and Campos do Jordão), so well worth the price, but note that the various ticket prices are not included in the Viator price. It was a major holiday weekend when we went, so the traffic was insane once we got to Campos do Jordão! (Check the calendar and avoid holidays!) Our first stop was the entrance to Campos do Jordão. Other than a photo op with the welcome sign, there's not much there (a few restaurants and chocolate shops). The next stop was Amantikir gardens. This was a very nice stop and the gardens were beautiful. (Some notes: they do not take credit cards, so have cash; they speak very little English (but Issac waited with us in line and translated until we went inside the gardens) so you may want to consider having Google Translate up and running; they wouldn't allow anything in the gardens except water, no other drinks or food -- due to bees.) Next we drove through the heart of Campos do Jordão. It was a very pretty town and Isaac offered to stop at a few photo ops or to eat, but we opted to just enjoy the view from the car (since we were crawling along in the holiday traffic). The next stop was Romantik Dalen - a "romantic park" that features a bridge where people put locks on railing of the bridge to symbolize "love locked forever." It wasn't super impressive, but made a nice photo op. From there, we walked to Parque Capivari. The park was crowded (again, holiday weekend), but very pleasant. We had the option to take the cable car up to Morro do Elefante, but chose not to due to the very long lines. If the lines hadn't been long, we definitely would've done the cable car, so I do recommend it. Instead, we grabbed a beer at Parrilla do Djalma and did some people watching. (We saw the bees be very aggressive with some Coca-Cola drinkers next to us, so understand why they didn't allow it at Amantikir.) Next on the agenda was Ducha de Prata. It was some manmade waterfalls. Again, nothing super special, but had some nice photo ops. From there, we went Parque do Itapeva. Absolutely stunning views. It wasn't crowded, so it was a nice respite from our day in the holiday crowds. They don't take credit cards either. This and Amantikir were certainly the highlight of the day. If you're in São Paulo and want to escape the city for a full day, this is a great trip. Summarizing some notes: 1. Avoid holiday weekends - very crowded and lots of traffic! 2. Bring cash, as tickets for various parks aren't included (and several places don't take debit or credit cards) 3. Have Google Translate handy if you're not with your guide 4. Amantikir didn't allow any food or drink, other than water due to bees. (Not sure this is a year round issue.)
Came with my 7 year old son for our first visit to Sao Paulo - had a great time! Juliana was our guide and she was wonderful. We loved the drive through the mountains, the chairlift, the vistas! It's so green - just incredible. Was very accommodating of our interests, we changed what we wanted to do as the day went along and we had to adjust for weather or we just got interested in making a new stop! Had a great time and would definitely come back again!
Our guide Ricardo was the best. He really made the experience a great one. We loved every but of the tour. It was well worth it and highly recommended.
Great day with Juliana to Campos do Jordao! The drive through the mountains was beautiful. We took a private tour, highly recommend so you can stop and stay at your leisure. The town is very quaint with many restaurants to choose from. Juliana was attentive and truly added to our overall experience.
Nice vacation with a family at the Capivari Vila. We had lunch at a cozy restaurant called "Cantinho da Serra." Good food! Some restaurants have live music. We place to do window shopping. Some chocolate factory nearby.
First wanted to say that Mauro our guide was great. Very safe driver and great conversationalist. We started with the Felica Lernier site and hit the town from there. His knowledge was very refreshing and engaging. The town itself cannot be explored in just one day, you will enjoy the day regardless. Last the food we had was fabulous. Grilled trout and steak.
good resting hostel i was enjoyed more the sevices was good am not seem every were i go i recomended every one
My husband and I flew into Sao Paulo for a few nights prior to flying into Rio. We booked this tour because it seemed like a different take on the Brazilian experience. From start to finish, it was AWESOME! Our tour guide was Mauro, and he is hands down the most attentive, informative and professional guide we have ever had. My husband and I are active travelers and have taken tours all over the world so we do not use this 5 star review lightly. Due to Covid, there were some changes in our experience, however the botanical gardens, ride through the Brazilian mountainside, town of Campos and informative guide made up for it. Additionally, Mauro had his car very safe with a plastic divider, wipes and hand sanitizer. We would HIGHLY recommend taking this tour whenever you are in Sao Paulo! Also - Mauro gave us wonderful tips on where to eat (in both Sao Paulo and Rio) and even offered to go out of his way to drop us off at these restaurants!
We loved the experience in Campos do Jordão. Cynthia knows the city very well. She shown to us the most beautiful places. She speaks fluent Spanish, French, English and Portuguese. If you visit Sao Paulo don't miss the opportunity to meet the Brazilian Switzerland.
Our guide Hendrick was great! The town itself is cute, it was a little crowded due to carnaval, but that was expected. The drive there was beautiful and it was nice to get out of the city. If I go again I'd probably skip the elephant hill which seems more geared towards kids, and check out some other places in town. But regardless it was a solid day trip.
Campos do Jordao is so beautiful and peaceful! The houses reminds me of Switzerland but with flowers on the windowsills. I love the Japanese garden and the amazing tree house. Please bring local money to pay at entrance for they don’t take credit card or any currency. People are nice and friendly. Good is great!
Campos del Jordán is a unique place! Worth a visit to every corner of the city. The city decorated for the end of year parties was a pretty thing too!
Climate and pleasant landscape, beautiful architecture Main street impossible ride in winter season Capivari crowded can't walk, crowded restaurants Telephone and train crowded line 40 min In season and weekends impossible not to stress
Campos do Jordão is a beautiful city! We stayed in a house with heating, which proved to be a very good choice. We were able to make a fire and enjoy the cold night drinking wine and eating cheese. We went to several tourist attractions in the city, the highlights being Capivari and Amantikar parks. The gastronomy is something in itself and the fondue rotation is unmissable. There are several restaurants on the main avenue but I suggest the Argentine one with a tango show in one of the side streets on the main street. We highly recommend the city, especially in the cold season when everything seems to combine more.
Beautiful city, good restaurants but expensive as well as the lodging. Very weak tourist points , with the exception of Park Amantikir . Silver shower a joke!
The city is beautiful, but there is little bathroom with baby switches or Kids space, both in the sights and restaurants
Nos encanto el tour! El lugar es hermoso y el guía es muy bueno, nos ayudo bastante a conocer todo lo que queríamos, habla perfecto español, fue super amigable y nos tomó fotos increíbles!
The city is very beautiful, excellent for walks in parks, shops and great restaurants, I was enchanted with the mountains and with the affection and attention of the residents of the city, I loved every minute lived.
Campos do Jordão is a great place to enjoy with family and friends, in addition to the various activities, the photos are great at any time of year
The city is beautiful!! Good restaurants, cafes, shops and lots of fun!! Some things disappointed me: the trenzinho ride (tight benches, in addition to taking in only two places, the silver shower, which is a show, and the chocolate factory) and the lack of public bathrooms, had a place where the bathroom had a password, you could only use it if you bought something in one of the stores, absurd!! It remains to talk about the various bustling streets, a despair in a tourist city so important and beautiful!!
Beautiful city, with various attractions, for all ages, leave at least 3 days for your trip to visit the center at night. Good request tbm is to visit the elephant mountain, state park, Amantiki park, peak of Itapeva and farm PRANA. For shopping SUPER RECOMMENDATION the GALERIA VILLA CAPIVARI, was a great surprise on our trip, is at the end of the promenade ROMANTIK DARLEN. Top restaurant is from Baden Baden, inquire about the weather, bring appropriate clothes!
It is a very beautiful city, with interesting tours but everything very expensive, from access to parks to food. I’ve been to the city twice, on a winter weekend and during the week in the spring and, as expected, the difference in experiences was huge. Logically, on the weekend the city is unbearably full and the traffic does not work very well beyond this approach in the center of Capivari. On my second visit, I did it alone, felt safe everywhere and had free access to restaurants without that approach that happens when you are in a couple or in a group.
I love this city! To me it is the most beautiful and safe in the state of São Paulo. An example for other cities in planning and architecture. But I gave 4 stars pq the harassment in the village Capivari of Hard Rock and another undertaking is unbearable. They don't accept a no, or want to grab you by the mouth or pocket with the greatest insistence.
Meeting St. Paul has always been my dream, but as God always does everything better than we dreamed on my journey to the "Stone City", I also had the grace of knowing the fields of the Jordan. Tourist town, quiet and very beautiful. A cosy place and full of unique beauties.
Guia Jorge took us to Campos do Jordão in a super nice car, we left at the agreed time, he was explaining the attractions along the way, and was super correct and helpful on the tour. We safely recommend Jorge.
The city is quiet and cozy. The only negative point is in relation to prices. Everything in town is very expensive.
Beautiful city, charming, of pleasant climate, busy tourist center, with various gastronomic options and many shops. There are also several attractions in your area, from parks, chocolateries, among others. Feeding in general has high values. But that's just putting in the budget and programming. I intend to come back!
I went with my wife and on the occasion everything was beautiful, the values a little salty. But it is worth the experience, I recommend (especially during the cold periods).
To leave here my indignation with the values charged in the fields of Jordan, this Cover is out of reality, just to have an idea the park amantikir that is a reserve that is not and state property but the population, they charge 51 reais per person, including children over 12 years, another reserve where is the brewery fields of Jordan to visit the reserve 50 reais, go to the brewery, 68, go to the mirante that is in the reserve 78, and you can not enter the waterfall, just look. Take advantage of a question, pq all brewery charge to tour, if they are and who want you to know their product?
Beautiful city, I love to visit the Cacau Show factory, the crafts fairs, take that delicious hot chocolate, the prices to eat are well salty, the cold is wonderful, the first trip I made at the age of 17 and was love at first sight the second time was at 42 and the love of the city and the same, not to mention that the service in any place and very good.
Leaving Rj we went on Friday and stayed until Sunday, 1 couple. We stayed at the bromelias hostel. Because it's July, we don't get less than a thousand reais for two days. In the bromelias, the q compensa is the location near the center. We didn't get a car. But the hostel leaves nothing to be desired. Noise between the rooms, poor breakfast. For those who want rest, there can not. The rooms make mto noise, we changed the room and still did not roll. We spent 1375,00 for two nights. We find expensive for the stay q is. As I have been to Campos, we went to rest and eat. We walk through the center, eating well for two people, the value is between 200 and 250,00. So, I can tell q Campos do Jordão is an expensive little town. Food we spent a total of 1000,00 for 2 people. This includes a bottle of wine, a fondue festival, a night barbecue with live music. The restaurants do not change mto there, the q changes really is the ostentaction kkk has more exquisite restaurants and other simpler, but do not leave to want in the food. So, let's go on the simplest and eat well and let's go on eating well tb! We went by car, we spent 150,00 of fuel, already q in São Paulo the gasoline is cheaper q in Rj. Total expenditure in an FDS: 2,500 for a couple.
Ugly, poorly cared for city, expensive and graceless attractions. The municipality urgently needs to revitalize the site (not only the center but the rest of the city).
The city is beautiful and cozy, I visited with the family this past week. Very cold on winter days, we catch temperatures from 3 to 19 degrees. We stayed in Condominium Alto da Boa Vista, by Airbnb, very welcoming and cute. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and left Sunday early, so, 3 nights, we managed to visit the places: Puxadinho of the Djalma Villa Capivari Cerejeiras Park History without End Chocolate spinach Restaurant Kilo Certo Amantikir Park Shower of Silver Pico do Itapeva Bruno Alves Chocolatier Chinese view Felícia Leirner Museum Chocolate Araucaria Boteco Itapeva Cantinho da Serra Although I had fun with the family, in order to be perfect the City Council should work public policies to take care of the people and animals in the street situation, who are exposed to the cold of 3 degrees in the streets of the village Capivari. The scene is sad and disappointing, considering that it is a rich city that place with tourism all year round, reviewing public funds for it
The city is beautiful, has great gastronomic options, great bars, great tour options for all ages. The city has excellent selection of hotels and guesthouses. In these matters the city exceeded my expectations. But I didn't rate the trip as "excellent" for a very serious reason: you can't take 4 steps in the streets without being approached by people who want to: - sell tours - show menu - Sell quotas of enterprises - Sell lottery Very unpleasant!!!! The tourists in Campos do Jordão need to learn and use the city of Gramado as an example, there the tourist is not bothered in this way, everything is regularized.
We love to know Campos del Jordán. Beautiful place, charming and mto special. The people are hospitable, has many options for tours, places to visit and wonderful restaurants. Visitors should try the famous fondue, a traditional mto in Campos. The prices are not of the most "in charge" but the place is wonderful and worth seeing.
Excellent place to visit, very friendly Juliana tour guide. I highly recommend, very nice quiet place, many places to visit.
The city is abandoned by the public initiative, many holes, loose animals, irregular parking, lack of signalling, I did not see public squares, landscaping does not exist, in the area of the bridge of the gallery Villa Capivari you do not see landscaping, dirty streets, I did not see municipal guards controlling the traffic, sewage at open skies, ..., finally, I thought that would be a competitor to Gramado, but it does not even get close. The Private Initiative makes an effort, but one notices a decline in public power.
Guide very polite and helpful. Excellent card. All perfect. I definitely recommend it to everyone. We love it.
I loved fields cozy city and transmits peace and tranquility do not miss to visit the amantikir garden, I recommend
Place lindoooooo, has place p all pockets and tastes. Don't forget the rain guard. Enjoy the parks
For those who want beautiful landscapes, nice nights in bars or restaurant in Vila Capivari, Campos do Jordão is the ideal place.
Local with sightseeing points to take off the hat. Meet all tastes. Nice climate and great restaurants.
