Our guide Mario was very knowledgeable and personable. We were fascinated by the cave home in Megalochori and the historic site of Akrotiri. We would recommend it.

Itinerary
Start your cultural experience with the village of Pyrgos, the oldest village in Santorini, known as the island’s “historic monument”. Built on the top of a hill, this settlement holds a 16th century Venetian castle. A charming location to wander around, built by the locals to fortify the area into small alleys and circle shape roads. The village is surrounded by vineyards, blue domed churches, narrow cave houses with charming balconies and pebbled paths.
Continue to Megalochori one of the most picturesque and quaint villages of the island with typical and classical Cycladic houses dug into the volcanic rock. The scenery includes white washed tower bells, underground caves and churches with blue domes. Stroll around the narrow pathways of this non touristy settlement, enjoy your Greek coffee at the pebble stone square and get involved with locals lifestyle & culture.
Discover Emporio, the entry to another past era and the island's commercial center during the Venetian occupation. In Medieval times, the inhabitants of this village used to build their houses side by side in small quaint streets, so that they could shield themselves against the pirates. An exploration of the well-maintained castle constructed in the mid-15th century will give you a lovely sentiment as you walk through its paths.
Explore Akrotiri Archaeological Site and go back into time to marvel the secrets and wonders of this lost ancient city. This 4000 year old Bronze age settlement prospered for centuries before being eradicated by a great volcanic eruption. Eventually it was buried in Volcanic Ash, which ironically helped to protect the artifacts from being destroyed. Stroll through the ancient walls and take a glimpse of a Minoan town with the 3-story buildings, well preserved frescoes, an elaborate drainage system and much more.
Enjoy a 5-Hour private journey on a deluxe and comfortable vehicle. Your experienced local driver/guide will pick you up at the time and place of your choice and share his knowledge of Santorini’s culture, traditions and curiosities. Your private experience with us will be flexible and customized to suit your preferences.

Dimitri was wonderful — very focused on our interests and making our time together very worthwhile. Knowledgeable, kind, and fun. We highly recommend this tour and Dimitri specifically!
The tour was excellent! Mario, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He answered every question we had and provided very interesting insights. We loved our tours of Pyrgos and Megalochori, both were beautiful and charming. The Akrotiri archeological sight was amazing. The tour was definitely a highlight of our stay in Santorini!
I had a wonderful experience with Dimitris as my guide on the Santorini Private Villages and Akrotiri Archaeological Site Tour. We visited Pyrgos, Akrotiri, and Megalochori, each offering a fascinating glimpse into Santorini’s rich history and culture. Dimitris was knowledgeable, friendly, warm, and highly professional, bringing the island’s stories and heritage to life. I learnt so much about Santorini and gained a much deeper appreciation of the island beyond its famous sun, sand, and beaches, and in my opinion, coming to Greece is not complete without learning about its history, culture and especially in Santorini, its topography! It was an enriching and memorable experience that revealed a more authentic side of Santorini. I highly recommend this tour to anyone enrich their understanding of this famous blue and white domed island!
George was a fantastic guide for this half-day tour of Akrotiri and the small villages on Santorini. So friendly and knowledgeable. We were extremely pleased with the entire experience. Thanks, George!
Thanos gave an absolute great tour of the villages and black sand beach. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about the things he showed us. He taught me a lot about the traditional Santorini life. I would definitely recommend him and this tour.
This experience was really fun and educating with thanos he was very funny and friendly with us and just overall was amazing
Our guide Thanos was beyond amazing!! He was so knowledgeable and very personable. He showed us the sights and answered all our questions. Asked us what we wanted to along with give suggestions. He was the absolute Best!! Totally recommend.
Thanos was the best tour guide! He was so friendly and personable! He showed us some authentic villages and we saw some of the best sights in Santorini
Thanos was amazing! Great person with a bunch of knowledge. Would highly recommend doing a tour with him!
Superb tour guide. Kostos is a resident of Santorinii and he knew all the insides and special places to go to well beyond the traditional tourist areas. I cannot provide a higher recommendation.
We did the Private Santorini Sightseeing and Cultural Villages Tour this morning with Mike and thoroughly enjoyed it. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of the island’s history, culture and local life. We visited some beautiful villages, stopped at some amazing viewpoints and learned far more about Santorini than we would have exploring on our own. Nothing felt rushed and Mike was happy to answer all our questions. A fantastic way to see the island and highly recommended if you’re visiting Santorini.
We loved the tour! Dimitri was such knowledgeable tour guide, and accommodated to our preferences. Would definitely recommend the tour!
Mario was a fantastic guide. Perfect English, very knowledgable. This is a very good way to get a brief overview of the island in 5 hours or less
Very good one-on-one guided tour. Mike was very knowledgeable, raised family on the island. When I booked, goal was ruins at Akrotiri, and visiting the Prehistoric Museum the prior day was helpful because those exhibits gave much perspective when trying to visualize the ruins themselves. The surprise was, I had forgotten when booking, that this private tour visited several historical villages Castle of Pyrgos Kalilstis, Cave House and Megalochori, Venetian Castle of Emporio, Vista over Caldera Beach. The quaint villages, narrow walking paths, historical houses, and amazing orthodox churches….guide was very knowledgeable…nothing like it I’ve ever seen. Only recommendation I would like to see is that the guide continue to give a guided tour within Akrotiri ruins itself, but maybe facility restriction, although we did observe guides leading both small and large groups through the ruins.
The walk was intriguing as we wound up/down/around authentic, narrow cobblestone streets through 3 villages. Our guide, Michael, provided both historical and current context for the sites we experienced. Definitely wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a good workout! We particularly enjoyed experiencing a true cave house (no longer in use). A great beyond the usual Santorini experience.
Our guide, Michael, escorted us efficiently through the historic streets, sites, and neighborhoods of hidden and authentic Santorini that we would not have discovered on our own. A definite highlight was entering an original cave house unused today - an incredible peek into Santorini pre-tourism! We recommend this tour and guide to get a deeper understanding of Santorini’s past and present.
Mike was the most knowledgeable tour guide who quite apparently loves and is proud of his country. I highly recommend Mike and this tour
What a great tour of the island. Dimitri was a fantastic guide. If you want to see the real Santorini up close and personal, this is the tour to take.
We had the pleasure of doing this tour with Mike. His knowledge of culture and history on this island is incredible. Anyone wanting to understand the island both past and present should do this tour.
Mike was great from our introduction until dropping us off. Lots of information and Santorini life learned from him and the tour. Great experience to learn about the history of Santorini and the city’s we visited. Couldn’t recommend more.
The private tour we had with our guide Alex was exceptional. He is a native to the island and very knowledgeable of the history and culture of the island. Alex brought us to the most beautiful places in Santorini. I would highly recommend the tour and particularly Alex as your guide.
Vasilis met us on time at our rendezvous spot. We were even able to arrange an hour later pickup. We visited 2 authentic Santorini villages as well as the 3,500 year old Minoan village of Akriotiri. Vasilis is a Santorini native and was very knowledgeable of all that we saw. 2 in our party were experiencing mobility issues. Vasilis was able to modify the original itinerary to see some great sites but avoid some sites that had a substantial number of stairs and uneven ground. We appreciated his consideration and had a great tour! Highly recommended!
We had a great time with Sakis. He knew all the places to stop and visit, and always found a way to minimize our walking and sun exposure. He was also very adaptive, and when we told him we were too tired to climb up to a castle he took us to a monastery on the mountain top for the best views on the island. We also saw ancient Akrotiri, walked through the main towns of the island, saw a cave home, and got souvenirs from local shops. Great experience and great guy.
We had an amazing time on our tour with Sakis. He was nice, genuine, and informative. The villages were unique and really showed on what real Greek life is like. The archeological site was fantastic as well.
Giannis gave us a wonderful tour tailored to our preferences. Very knowledgeable and friendly and passionate about his village and island. He gave us an insightful look into Santorini. 5 stars ⭐️
Sakis was the best driver and tour guide. He was personable and accommodating. He was very knowledgeable at every stop. Would recommend!
We recently went on this tour, recommended by family members who attended last Oct. Sakis was an excellent guide!m. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and enthusiastic; his love for Santorini was evident! He allowed us time to explore, answered our MANY questions, & provided insight into the history & daily life in Santorini. Well worth the time and money. Ask for Sakis!
Kostas was the best tour guide and so knowledgeable. The views, the people and the good were all amazing Highly recommend!
The tour was outstanding! Kostas was a remarkable tour guide and gave us great history, as well as exposing us to some cultural gems.

Giannis was an amazing tour guide!!!! His history of Santorini was incredible! He took us all around the island and was so personable and even tweaked the tour to meet our style! Giannis love for his hometown village was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour and request Giannis! We saw 75 percent of the island in just four hours and learned so much.
We had an amazing experience with Giannis of SRT. Easily the best experience that we had on the island. Thank you Giannis
We had the best time with Sakis. He wasn't just highly knowledgeable but very friendly. He showed us places we would never have known to find on our own. If you want a great experience on your visit to Santorini, book some time here.
This tour was fantastic. It’s easy to get caught up in the photogenic magic of Santorini, but there is so much culture on the island and this tour was perfect to experience all of the culture the island has to offer. And Akrotiri was amazing to see. Our guide, Mike, was native to the island, extremely knowledgeable and so, so nice.
My wife and I had a private tour with George and it was a highlight of our time in Santorini. Unlike Oia and Fira, visiting the smaller villages gave a much better sense of what it’s like on the island. George shared many stories and history with us and also took us to the monastery and black sand beaches. I recommend this tour to anyone with the time to see more than one part of the island.
Santorini is such a lovely place to visit wished to have more time to explore other island. Santorini is as I expected & more thanks to our expert guide Sakis, he deserves 10 stars!!! He’s very professional, expert & passionate at what he does. He genuinely treat his guest like family. This company is worth using when touring Santorini & Sakis shoulc be your guide to make it more memorable.
Santorini has so many beautiful places to see and as first time visitor you wouldnt be able to know and see all those beautiful places without an expert guide who’s knowledgable and passionate about the work. No worries missing the good spot if you have a tour guide as passionate as Sakis Naltsas! He’s not just a guide he makes you feel like family wanting to have a wonderful experience. We were lost finding our way to meet him yet he was so patient did not rushed us & made adjustment to see as much despite the lost time. He went above & beyond his duty, he took our pictures like a pro! We got to see all the tour said and more!! Definitely use this company & make sure to request for Sakis Naltsas you will be in good hands & guaranteed an unforgettable experience! Thank you Sakis, when we come back be our guide again!!!!
Our local tour guide (Sakis) was an excellent host! He was very knowledgeable about Santorini and able to show us some spots we would have otherwise not found. Thanks for the great experience, Sakis!
Fantastic tour of Santorini. Sakis was very informative & friendly. He’s a wealth of information. Loved the town of Megalochori & the cave house. Akrotiri was very interesting. We learned a lot about Santorini & Greece. Highly recommend.
Our guide, George, was great. This was a really informative tour and my family and I learned a great deal about Santorini. The ruins of Akrotiri were fascinating.
We had a wonderful private tour with Kostas Pergantis, a driver for Santorini Road Trips. While we signed up for a specific tour Kostas was very flexible and we had a custom tour. It included Akrotiri, Pyrgos, the Prophet Elias Monastery for the view and finished with a wine tasting. Kostas was very kind and knowledgeable. He was easy to understand and designed a perfect custom tour. Highly recommended.
We loved our local Santorini guide Kostas. He was informative and thoughtful. He went at our pace and full of the local history.
