Itinerary
Optional visit: See the iconic blue domed churches, marbled paved floors, scenic pathways, plenty open-air cafes, restaurants, art galleries and a large shopping area. Oia is one of the most photographed places in the world, situated on top of an impressive cliff and offers spectacular views. The village has several cultural attractions such as: The maritime museum, traces of a Venetian fortress and the captains houses. You may as well see the cave houses used to be the homes of ship crews, and the neo-classical architecture, when the village was inhabited by the affluent class of ship owners. The world famous sunset in Oia is available by choosing an afternoon departure.
Optional visit: Located at the highest & most central part of the Caldera. Take memorable pictures and admire an impressive view to the Volcano and Skaros rock.
Optional visit: The so called "crown of Fira" an old fashioned village situated on the rim of the cliffs with magnificent views. Stop at the scenic balcony and gaze the wild beauty of the caldera itself along with the three bells & the famous blue domed church, seen on every postcard of Santorini.
Optional visit: This settlement is made of hundreds of small white painted houses with exquisite architecture, tiny alleys, tower bells, beautiful blue domed chapels and underground cave houses. In this picturesque and non-touristic environment, you’ll truly be basking in the local culture and lifestyle.
Optional visit: Built by a French company in 1892, it’s considered one of the most beautiful of the Cycladic Islands and a unique point to watch the sunset. Standing on the edge of a high cliff right above the sea, its position is ideal for taking panoramic pictures and admiring Santorini's famous Caldera from a different point of view.
Optional visit: The most unique natural beach of the island, where red is the dominant color. Take amazing pictures of the enormous volcanic rocks and the steep hills that create a captivating wild scenary. This wonderful volcanic landscape will capture your complete attention.
Optional visit: The longest and most famous beach in Santorini and a unique sight of the volcanic island. Lase in the black lava sand, swim in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean sea and taste traditional dishes in a seaside restaurant.
Optional visit: Admire the most breathtaking view from the island's highest peak. From this vantage point, you will enjoy a striking view of the entire island. The Mountain's name is Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elias), coming from the Monastery with the same name on its peak, built in 1711. Whilst in this stunning and peaceful environment, you may as well taste wine and local products made by the monks, who reside at the monastery.
Optional visit: The oldest village in Santorini, known as the island’s “historic monument”. Built on the top of a hill, this settlement holds a 16th century Venetian castle. A charming location to wander around, built by the locals to fortify the area into small alleys and circle shape roads. The village is surrounded by vineyards, blue domed churches, narrow cave houses with charming balconies and pebbled paths.
Optional visit: Constructed in the mid-15th century by the Venetians to shield themselves from the pirate invasions. Stroll through the interior of this well maintained fortified settlement with interesting architecture, quaint ambience and beautiful colors. The scenary reminds a labyrinth with very narrow streets, arches and houses built side by side. It is considered one of the most beautiful landmarks and a must-see site of Santorini.
Optional visit: Explore Akrotiri Archaeological Site and go back into time to marvel the secrets and wonders of this lost ancient city. This 4000 year old Bronze age settlement prospered for centuries before being eradicated by a great volcanic eruption. Eventually it was buried in Volcanic Ash, which ironically helped to protect the artifacts from being destroyed. Stroll through the ancient walls and take a glimpse of a Minoan town with the 3-story buildings, well preserved frescoes, an elaborate drainage system and much more.
Optional visit: In the suburbs of Akrotiri, visit a family farm and taste homemade wine and local products, that do not contain any preservatives or chemical additives. Taste fava, sun dried tomatoes, capers, olive paste and traditional sweets. See the wine celar, the grape-stomping tank and experience the vibe of traditional Greeks.
Optional visit: Follow a small road towards the hilltop above the village of Emporio. Along the rim see the 8 traditional windmills and an isolated white washed chappel on the edge of the cliff. A stunning location with an open view, suitable for panoramic pictures and a wonderful sunset.
Optional visit: A former tomato cultivation & production facility, which has been transformed into a modern Museum. Learn about Santorini’s famous cherry tomato, which is thicker-skinned, sweeter and smaller than the garden-variety because of the island’s volcanic soil and lack of water. Take a free guided tour through the old equipment & other antiques, learn the history of tomato production and taste the tomato paste.
Optional visit: Follow a wine exhibition and taste in one of the most modern wineries in Santorini. This facility includes some of the oldest vines of the island, which are over 150 years old. Taste several varieties of outstanding boutique wine based only on the indigenous varieties of Santorini accompanied by a cheese plater.
Optional visit: One of the oldest wineries in Santorini built at 1947. Learn about quality, enology and flavor alchemy. The Venetsanos family has a very long tradition in producing wine and has become the first industrial winery on the island. Taste your favorite wine selection accompanied by local tapas on a private table overlooking the magnificent caldera.
Optional visit: A unique natural wine museum to learn the history of wine production in Santorini dated from 1660 to 1970. The museum occupies a natural cave of 300 meters long with corridors shaped like maze. The wine tasting takes place in a specialy designed room.
Optional visit: This visitable brewery produces on-site exquisite artisanal beer using signature local ingredients. The visit at Ftelos Brewery starts with a guided tour performed by expert guides who take the guests all around the facilities and offer a mini seminar about how beer is brewed. The tour is a fun and educational experience! The production area is visible from the taproom. Being so close to the actual production area, which is separated by glass, the guests experience the magic of beer production happening. They can actually see the whole production unit, the control panel and the fermentation and aging tanks. They can watch the bottling, filtering or tank cleaning process at sight. Following the tour, the guests can indulge themselves in the tastes of 6 refreshing artisanal beers while learning information regarding the quality specifications and the ingredients of each beer accompanied with a luxurious snack.

We came to Santorini as the last stop for our honeymoon. It was everything and more and this tour was my favorite activity that we did on our trip. Our tour guide, Mario, was so polite and accommodating; he made sure we went to all the must-see spots! We appreciated him answering all our questions and giving us information and history about beautiful Santorini. Thank you Mario for a wonderful time!
We did a private seven- hour tour with Dimitri. Dimitri is a proud Santorinian who was excited to show off his beautiful home. He was very accommodating to our request, very knowledgeable of all of the history of his home island. We were able to visit the entire island. and all the highlights during this trip. Would recommend going to Santorini and booking with Santorini road trips and Dimitri.
Went on a private tour of Santorini with our knowledgeable and friendly guide George. Our day started out with a thunderstorm but luckily cleared so we could enjoy all the beauty that Santorini is known for. After a number of stops with George telling us about the history of the Island and the places we visited, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch at Black Beach before being driven back to our hotel. Thanks for a wonderful day on beautiful Santorini with our wonderful guide George.
This tour was great! He was very knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a wonderful time in Santorini!
We took Greece trip in September, and Santorini was by far the most memorable part of our journey. A big part of that was thanks to our tour guide, Kostas P. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, and it’s clear how much he loves what he does. His passion for Santorini really shines through. He was also very polite and did his best to accommodate our needs. We highly recommend Kostas to anyone who wants to save time and make the most of their Santorini experience.
Thanos was our guide for our personal 7-hour tour. He was very nice and communicative in reassuring us he was waiting at the top of the cable car for our arrival. When a tender and cable car are involved you can’t be exact on your arrival so communication with your guide is very reassuring. Thanos was very welcoming and easy to locate. We told him a list of places we would like to visit. He worked out a map plan to make it all happen and more! He was very personable, professional and respectful. By the time our tour finished the island and Thanos felt like family. We felt very blessed and knew we picked the perfect tour. Thank you Santorini tours for a memorable and wonderful day!! I highly recommend this tour company and Thanos.
We took a tour with Michael and we could not have been happier. It was a fantastic tour and Michael made us feel like family he was showing around. He adjusted the plan on the fly to maximize the time and provide us the the best experience. He also provided interesting information during the drive. He was also great with my little kids who really liked it. He also provide great recommendation for lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed. The vehicle was also very comfortable. If you are in Santorini, do this tour and ask for Michael! Thank you for a great time!
Michael was an amazing tour guide. He asked what we wanted to see. I showed him my list and he showed us where the places were on the map. We decided to skip Oia so we could see more in the south. That was such good advice. Michael's English was very good. He was very, very knowledgeable about Santorini and the rest of his country, and shared this knowledge with skill, answering our every question. Michael was so kind and considerate, accommodating my husband's pace in walking. Everytime he dropped us off as closely as possible to what we wanted to see so that Gord could enjoy the tour too! When my husband offered to sit for a bit, Michael guided us through the alleys in the town that was very like a labyrinth. We only wanted a snack, so that we could make the lost of our time, so Michael found a lovely bakery for us to see. No tour guide could have been better. Michael was a delightful man and guide. Thank you so much.
I booked the "Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of Guest" tour to explore Santorini as part of cruise I was taking with my partner, and I would highly recommend it to others that are visiting the island. Our guide, Mario, was fantastic, and is easily one of the best tour guides I have had. He was knowledgeable, professional, easy-going, and just made the experience for us. We were able to fit in a visit to the Akrotiri ruins, an amazing lunch on a black sand beach, and a visit to Oia with sunset views all within five hours (plenty of time to return to our cruise) He even helped me plan the engagement to my now fiancé along with photos and video. We had a great time, and we will definitely book again in the future if we stop by Santorini again.
Dimitri did a wonderful job with taking us to all the best places I recommend him for any travels to Santorini. He was so wonderful.
We arrived via cruise ship. Met Thanos at the top of the funicular. Please note this is the best option to get to the city centers, but costs 20 euros pp each way. Had GREAT day!!! Thanos was very knowledgeable, proud and passionate about his city and country, both absolutely stunning. Nice, clean vehicle with water. Oia is what you go to see and you do that right away, but after you snap the picture is when you truly get to learn about the people and the island. Great stop on the black beach for lunch. Back to cruise with plenty of time. Note that Santorini is a small island. If in the summer months expect significant crowds, especially in Oia (Blue Domes).
Absolutely great experience! Met Thanos at the top of the funicular (20 euros pp each way) and had a great day. Navigated the crowds to hit the key spots in Oia (Blue Domes) early, but really enjoyed the rest of the island, including stops at smaller towns, red beach, black beach, a fantastic lunch and the sunset. Great communication, no stress related to cruise ship departure. Would highly recommended.
Thanos was warm, extremely knowledgeable and funny. We learned and enjoyed so much
Great experience! We took a 4-hour tour that included visits to 3 villages and Akrotiri. Our guide, George, was a wealth of information about the various locations and Greece in general—very interesting. The tour is well worth the price! We highly recommend it.
Out tour guide Thanos is the best. He’s very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. He knows the history and all the good spots to take beautiful photos! You can tell Thanos loves what he does. You must request him as your guide!
Our driver Thanos was so friendly and very knowledgeable and explained very well the history of different spots. He knows exactly where are the good spots for taking beautiful photos. We can tell Thanos loves doing what he does, just a wonderful tour guide.
Dimitri the best guide ever Super friendly and knowledgeable Speaks perfect English Highly recommended
Our guide George was fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient which made for an unforgettable experience. His recommendations for destinations, including a local restaurant, weaved seamlessly into our must-see/do agenda.
There isn’t enough space to review our wonderful tour with Giorgos! We booked 4 hours with him to see different parts of Santorini and he did not disappoint. His knowledge of the island and its history is probably unmatched. He spoke very good English and we gave him free rein to take us to places he thought we would enjoy. We liked him so much we booked our kids with him when they come in a couple of days. Giorgos, thank you so very much for being our favorite guide!!! Xoxo
To anyone thinking of booking a private tour during a visit to Santorini- this is an outstanding service provider! As cruise passengers visiting only for a day, we wanted to make the most of our time and booked a 6 hr tour. We customized it to our preference, with the owner providing additional insight and suggestions. Our driver Michael, was an absolute pleasure and delight and he executed our day flawlessly from start to finish. Michael provided information about life on Santorini and answered any questions we asked, as we traversed the Island. At each location Michael guided us on the best routes, sights and photo stops, all the while offering commentary on the history and allowing us to set the pace. There is a whole other, more authentic aspect to Santorini beyond Fira and the crowds….and we had the pleasure of Michael introducing us to it.
Stop scrolling and book this tour in Santorini!!!!! Thanos, you were the hilghlight of our trip to Greece!! So professional. Great communication before the trip. You took care of us from the moment you picked us up. You will see the whole island of Santorini and have a fabulous lunch, have such a good time at a beautiful winery. Thank you for the best day of our 10-day trip, Thanos. Yamas until we meet again!!!!
Amazing tour!! Thanos is absolutely incredible. So friendly and best vibes. We saw the whole island, had amazing food and wine! He was such a gem. I am absolutely coming back and would choose him every time.
I could not thank Thanos enough for the incredible day he gave us! The history and information he gave of us of his hometown was 100/10. Highly recommend the company and especially Thanos! I will definitely be back to visit Santorini, but also to see Thanos again!
Thanos The private tour in Santorini was phenomenal. You were great and the history you shared along with the local knowledge really enhanced the trip. It was really a pleasure to spend the day with you. Hope to see you again soon you still owe us that Greek song. Take care Dave
Thanos was an incredible tour guide! We had the best day exploring the whole island of Santorini. We saw everything we wanted to plus more because of Thanos. Highly recommend this and Thanos specifically!!
Taking a private tour was one of the best decisions we made during our visit to Santorini! In just a few hours, we were able to see so much without feeling rushed. Our guide and driver, Michael, truly made the experience exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and hospitable, and his passion for sharing Santorini really shone through. Michael took us to hidden gems and breathtaking spots off the beaten path that we never would have discovered on our own. He also shared wonderful local recommendations for restaurants and activities that gave us a more authentic taste of the island. If you want to make the most of your time in Santorini, see beyond the typical tourist stops, and experience the island through the eyes of someone who truly knows and loves it, this is the tour to book! Michael went above and beyond to make our experience special, and we couldn’t recommend him or this tour more highly. An absolute highlight of our trip!
Absolutely amazing! We had George as our guide and he was beyond perfect. He gave us incredible information, made excellent use of our time, and I can’t imagine having done Santorini any other way. You will not regret booking this! Thank you so so much George!
If you want to enjoy sites and get a deeper understanding of Santorini and its people, an intimate private tour with Mario is your ticket. His keen knowledge of Greece and Santorini was a perfect blend. He can answer just about any question, both historic and cultural. The variety of stops and experiences Mario showed us were perfect. (And he tailored it to our interests!) A small vineyard allowed us to learn how the Santorini’s wind impacts grape production. Grape vines form low to the ground in a neat fashion. We were charmed by Megalochori and the cave house we saw was so interesting! We then saw the intense beauty of the red sand beach and the surrounding cliffs. (A short hike) The most interesting and absolutely fascinating stop was the Prehistoric Town of Akrotiri. A Bronze Age village destroyed by a powerful volcano that erupted more than three thousand years ago, the site is well preserved in a covered building and allows visitors to view it through walkway around the excavations. A delicious beachside lunch at Forty One restaurant was another wonderful stop. The tomato fritters were excellent as was the Santorini salad and local wine. To cap the six hour tour we had a sunset viewing in Oia on the western end of Santorini. It’s a wonderful mix of the beauty of the cliffs, views of the bay,and despite the cloud cover, a wonderful sunset. Oia is loaded with higher end shops and classy restaurants that you see when stroll down the tiled pedestrian walkway. Mario was absolutely amazing, so personable and friendly! We loved every minute of this experience! Don’t hesitate to book with this company to enjoy a unique and memorable visit!
Hi! I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for arranging our driver Michael for us last week (10/14/26) in Santorini. Michael and Georgia were professional, efficient, timely, and hospitable. You made planning easy and our memories of Santorini phenomenal. Michael was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the island and its history. He got us great photos and knew exactly what to do. Thank goodness we had him with us. What a fantastic company you all have. Thank you again for making our vacation even more memorable. I hope to work with you again.
Thanos was the best! Knowledgeable & professional! I can’t say enough b about this truly amazing experience!!
WOW! We did this tour as part of our honeymoon, and it was hands down our favorite day of the trip. We did a 6 hour tour with George, and he was phenomenal. We were able to do and see so much that we never would’ve been able to do on our own. George was so knowledgeable, kind, and took really wonderful photos for us! We could not recommend this tour more highly. 10/10, and I hope to return to Santorini and to see George again!
fantastic and comprehensive experience. Mario is one of the best tour guides we have had in our travels. food and ambience at the beachside restaurant he recommended are not to be missed. his suggestions on local dishes and wine were food tour worthy.
Thanos, our guide from Santorini Road Trips is highly recommended! Being a Santorinian himself is an asset in his line of work and a driver at that. He took us to the most spectacular sunset in Santorini that not a lot don’t know. Great Job, Thanos! We really appreciate you!
We did a private customized tour. Our guide Thanos was awesome. He was so knowledgeable and his love for Santorini and his village was amazing. It was a great tour experience and I highly recommend it.
Dimitri was absolutely AMAZING! From beginning to end, he made our experience truly unforgettable! He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, kind, and welcoming. He made us feel right at home, as though we were exploring with a longtime friend rather than a tour guide! What made Dimitri even more exceptional was the genuine care and compassion he showed toward my friend, who has visual challenges. He went above and beyond to ensure she felt comfortable, included, and supported throughout the entire experience. Not once did he make her feel like her challenges were an inconvenience, and that meant so much to both of us! Dimitri is truly a gem, and his professionalism, kindness, and warm personality made all the difference. I cannot recommend him highly enough! If you have the opportunity to book this experience, do yourself a favor and REQUEST DIMITRI! You will be so glad you did!
We had Dimitris as a tour guide. He made the discovery of Santorini into an unforgettable experience! He had great knowledge of Santorini, brought us to see the highlights, was very helpful en had a great sense of humor!
Thanos and Michael did an amazing job with our large group! He made the tour extra special, was clear, and kept us entertained :) Thanks guys!!
I booked this tour because I wanted my daughter to truly experience the island of Santorini. Her now deceased father and I had visited Santorini some years ago. I wanted her to experience and receive the same feeling from this very special place as the two of us had in the past. Therefore, I booked the private plane your own tour. I was definitely not disappointed with Giorgio our guide. Plan was made yet any deviation we wanted he made it for us. I had booked a Guide at the ruins a fairly new archaeological site. He made sure we arrived in time for our scheduled tour with another Guide. He waited for us, and then we continued her tour of the island with him. Our experience was over the top. Giorgio having grown up in Santorini, on his own decided to extend our time and show us some of his favorite places. I know my daughter will now dream of this special place as I do. Thank you Giorgio for sharing, you made our visit a life event.
Thanos and Michael were wonderful guides! We learned so much about the history and landscape and had fun too!
This was an amazing tour. We did it as a private couple. The vehicle was immaculate. I highly recommend asking for Mike to be your tour guide. He was exceptional. We saw everything from one end of the island to the other end. We learned a lot about the island. I love that he took photos for us. It’s nice to have something other than just selfies. I highly recommend using Mike and this service. I will be recommending him to my travel clients also.
We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Thanos as our guide. He was very friendly, informative, and knowledgeable about the entire island. He guided us to see the blue domes in Oia and showed us equally beautiful places throughout Santorini. We toured through small villages and beaches seeing many amazing locations that were away from the typical tourist locations. He made my friend’s birthday celebration truly memorable! I highly recommend Thanos as a tour guide and will always remember this wonderful day!
Our guide, Dimitris, met us at the benches at the top of the cable car and we were off to our adventure. First pictures near the cable car top with our ship in the background. Next to Oia (pronounced E-a). Along the way we stopped for more photos. At Oia, Dimitris told us to walk the Main Street and he would meet us on the other side. Along the way we found a restaurant, Mezzo, with a beautiful bay view with our ship in the foreground. We split a chicken club sandwich and we were both full. Walking through Oia we saw a girl in a flowing red dress getting her picture taken by a professional photographer. Dimitris took us to the churches of the 3 blue domes for more photos. Still in Oia Dimitris took us to a gentleman dressed in traditional Greek warrior clothing for photos. Next to the windmills of Santorini. Next to the highest point on the island: Pyrgos Kallistis where one can see the entire island Dimirtis was a great guide, we learned a lot, and now have many great photos.
Thanos is the absolute best and everyone we ran into was quick to remind us of that. He was energetic, accommodating, funny, and warm. Highly recommend and request Thanos!
We really enjoyed our experience with Mike. Very professional and he made our first visit to Santorini memorable. Thank you! Highly recommend Mike!!!
Our group of 4 spent part of our day with George for our Tailor-Made- Choice of the Guest tour on the last port stop of our Venice to Athens cruise. We were actually a bit early around 8:30 since we made good time on the tender and there wasn't much of a line for the cable car but George was already on his way and we met at the exit as agreed. We walked down to a nearby street while he brought the van around and proceeded on our way driving to Oia via the mountain route making a few scenic stops along the way. Very beautiful and a perfect blue-sky day! George had proposed a general itinerary based on our interests and to the extent possible to avoid crowds which aside from a few spots in Oia was very successful. Throughout the day George provided overviews of history, background, and interesting facts about the island, sites, people, and life there. We stopped at a bakery for some snacks where he introduced us to the owner who gave us some free samples, and also stopped for a close-up look at grape plants to learn how they survive and are grown in the volcanic soil and dry climate. Then we walked through Megalochori, a quaint and beautiful town, including a visit to a cave home and some scenic overlooks. This was followed by Akrotiri with its red sand beach, then viewed the black sand beaches where we had lunch together at Forty One. Great service, atmosphere/ view, and delicious food! We ended our tour back in Fira where George provided some helpful hints for the rest of our day. He was excellent throughout and we very much enjoyed our time with him, our tour, and visit to Santorini. Highly recommended!
Thanos our guide was waiting for us as we disembarked from the ship. It was very personal tour as he is a resident of the island for many years. We learned a lot about how life is for the locals, and also showed us every highlight we wanted to see on the island .We covered a lot of ground in the time we had and all with a very local touch. I certainly would give my full support to anyone who is considering a very personal and relaxed tour of the island.
Dimitri was wonderful! He took us to the most beautiful spots that we could never have accomplished on our own… He was very considerate of our wants and needs- he went above and beyond to make us happy- He is passionate & knowledgeable of his beautiful island- His English is impeccable- this was the best day of our vacation!
Thanos our driver/tour guide did an awesome job showing us around and explaining things to us , i would recommend asking for him !
This tour was so much more than a tour of the island. Our guide, Thanos educated us on the history, culture and religion of the island. He was engaging and had a great sense if humor. We asked him to take us around to everything he thought we should see and he did . His timing of each destination on the island was perfect. We never felt rushed. I would recommend this tour as it one of the top highlights of our cruise stops.
