Our five hour private tour of Santorini was a great mix of local tastes and island views. The wine tasting at Santo Wines was a special touch and the traditional country lunch was a chance to sample Santorini’s culinary heritage. The drive across the island also allowed us to take our time to explore some picturesque villages, browse the local shops and take photographs. The timing and good communication were very helpful with our cruise itinerary. Top Santorini Tours is a complete package of food, culture and sightseeing.

Itinerary
The village of Firostefani is located in the northern part of Santorini, between the famous towns of Fira and Imerovigli. Officially, this location is perceived as a separate village. However, the truth is different. It extends the village capital, Santorini's infamous Fira. Since Firostefani is located at the highest point of Fira, the name of this settlement can be translated as the Crown of Fira. In Greek, Stefani means crown. Therefore, it is the Crown of Nature.
Visit Imerovigli, the highest town in Santorini, with white houses and blue-domed churches. Since Imerovigli is a preserved traditional settlement, the architectural style of the building remains unchanged, mainly in Cycladic and primarily local Fira style. Today, Imerovigli is one of the most developed tourist destinations in Santorini, with first-class hotels, restaurants, and other shops visited by tens of thousands worldwide.
Oia village is one of the most popular and visited places in Santorini. Oia is a small town and former community in the South of the Aegean Sea, on the Islands of Thera and Thirasia, in the Cyclades, Greece. It covers the entire island of Thirasia and the northwestern part of Santorini, which it shares with the municipal unit of Santorini. Oia is known for its breathtaking sunsets, but its sunrise is also magical. There are two types of dwellings: cave houses dug out of the volcanic rock on the Caldera rocks and captain houses. Lovely Oia is the perfect place to relax in Santorini, with its pastel-colored houses, windmills, and churches with domes descending the hillside. This is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the island, but if you are staying elsewhere, it is worth a visit during a day trip.
Visit the castle of Pyrgos and feel like a local. In the traditional village of Pyrgos, the highest settlement in Santorini, you can admire the atmospheric Castle of Pyrgos. Built around 1580, this is probably the last of the island's five fortified settlements. Its location, chosen for strategic reasons, offers unique views of vast plains and the sparkling Aegean Sea.
The beautiful and modern Argyros winery estate is located on the outskirts of Episkopi-Gonia, about 5.5 km southeast of Fira. Argyros' spacious tasting room with ocean views is in the heart of their grape estate. Taste the four different glasses of wine at the second-biggest winery in Santorini.
This is one of the most popular beaches on the island. The cosmopolitan beach is located in the southeast of Santorini and is bordered by stunning cliffs that provide a dramatic backdrop. It's a lengthy beach covered in black volcanic shingle rather than sand. Kamari Beach is separated from Perissa by a large rock called Mesa Vouno at one end. The beach is fantastic also. The only downside is the pebbles, which might not be the most comfortable to walk on on a hot summer day, but a good pair of beach shoes can provide an instant fix. It can be challenging to get in and out of the water in some parts, but once you are in, the water is gorgeous. There is a much better beach at the far end of Kamari near the big rock. Getting into the sea there is much easier, although the shallow waters quickly become deep. The beach there is also finer - more like sand - but still not great for making sandcastles. It is also a quieter end of Kamari and better for families.

Our private highlights tour with Elias was a great way to see Santorini at a relaxed pace. He was very friendly and knew a lot about the island’s history, culture, and local life. We visited some of the famous spots as well as a few quieter places that we would probably not have found on our own. We also had time to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. The wine tasting around sunset was a lovely part of the experience and gave us a chance to enjoy the views in a more relaxed setting. Elias was also a careful driver on the narrow roads and gave us some useful tips for exploring the island by public bus later in our trip. It was a comfortable and flexible experience, and Elias made the day feel easy from beginning to end. We really enjoyed seeing a different side of Santorini.
The guide knew Santorini really well and took us to a few spots we probably would have missed on our own. The quieter viewpoints were great for photos, and the day never felt like we were just following a standard tourist route. The wine tasting was a nice part of the afternoon, and the lunch stop had a beautiful view too. Having someone else handle the timing and choices made the day much easier. A really enjoyable way to see more of Santorini in a few hours.
I took this private tour with my family to Santorini. The car was cool and comfortable, so it was easy to get around with the kids. The guide George was very patient, he went at the family's pace, and didn't rush us. Along the way, he told us stories about the island's history and local life, which we all enjoyed listening to. The decision to leave early in the morning worked out - the popular viewpoints weren't crowded yet, so there was a good time to take pictures of the whole family. George himself suggested a few good angles. The winery stop was also good - even non-wine drinkers could just enjoy the view and the atmosphere, a place to sit and relax. Overall, the 5-hour tour seemed like the perfect length for a family trip - not too long, not too rushed.
Had a wondfeful tour with Harris. He is a native of Thira (Santorini 😜) with excellent knowledge of the history and the people of this beautiful island. Our wine tour of the Art Gallery Winery was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Amazing experience with Santorini tours From the staff till the vehicles all luxurious and comfortable. We saw all the highlights of the island just in a few hours perfect
My husband and I had a private 6 hour tour on Santorini that was absolutely amazing and the highlight of our 12 days in Greece! George aka Mr. Patience, was our driver (the van was lux) and Mary, our tour guide were both outstanding. Mary covered from Oia to Agkistri—one end of Santorini to the other, filling us with historical facts, picture perfect photo spots, castles, and ending with a wine tasting at Art Space. While driving, Mary would get out the map and her ipad and show us more details of past volcanic activity and old photos of what some of the places used to look like. It was worth every penny! If you want the best, book Mary and George with Top Santorini tours today. You will not be disappointed.
We were so disappointed with our experience with George. He started out telling us that it was our day and we could decide what to see and do. Then telling us that we HAD to be back on the bus at noon but he actually was yelling at us. Didn't want us to go shopping and only allowed us an hr to do so after we demanded it. All he did was take us to take pictures when we wanted to see the winery and beaches. Yelled at tourists to move, and when I say yell, ppl literally ran away from him. Just a very all around mean disposition. But the worst part, he demanded that we go to a restaurant, we didn't get to order, they just brought us food, and 3Xs what we could eat. And then we get our bill, which we were under the impression that it was included in what we had already paid, came to $85/person. We had 15 ppl. It was clearly a set up, after that, we refused to spend another minute with him. They did give money back, which was weird that he had that much cash on him, almost as if he was prepared to give some back. Horrible experience.
Entering into Imerogvili with the breathtaking views, walking around the fancy Oia shops. George was great with customizing the routes as I have medical condition and cannot climb too many steps. If you have never been to Santorini, I recommend this tour. 4 starts because our tour guide yelled at as he told us to meet up in one spot and due to language issues we did not get the spot right. He should have been able to express his concerns in more civil way. Overall, The tour was well planned.
Santorini Visit. My husband, sister and her husband got the pleasure of having Sofia as our tour guide. She. Was. Amazing! Full of energy, funny, informative, relatable are just some things that describe her. She picked us up in an air conditioned electric Mercedes. We visited Oia, Fira, black sand beach, local restaurant, local winery. We had such a great experience.
Christo was an awesome guide for the day. Pick up was easy. He took us all over to the top Spots And even to his village which was charming. He has great photography Skills! We had a personal photographer for the day:)
Costos did a great job! He was friendly, knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with! He's a terrific photographer as well! He adjusted our route so that my mom (who is 79 years old) wouldn't have to walk too much.
María and Yanis took us around Thera and (Santorini) outskirts. Comfortable Mercedes van. Lovely time. Great pace. Lovely time. Good times! 😄
Great tour company. Excellent communications, funny guy and a very good driver. Alex is the name you are the best. Our group of 7 enjoyed our day tour. He took us to places where we can see the perfect view of Santorini. We had great fun for the whole trip and learning so many things about the place. I would highly recommend TOP SANTORINI TOURS.
The best part is our tour guide Alex, he gave us an experience that will never forget. Especially the Immerovigli so inspiring so beautiful. And Alex let us try different herbs that you could just take along the road. He let us see, touch, and taste it. The best experience ever so highly recommended. And a very happy tour all of us never get tired we're so happy on this tour. We see everything in Santorini my best trip ever.
We did the private site-seeing and wine tour today with Andrew and Alex driving, and it was exceptional. We heard the history and saw so much of Santorini. I highly recommend this trip, EXCELLENT!!!
Our private tour was the highlight of our trip to Santorini, it was the perfect blend of history and plenty of wine. Our guide Andrew was born on the island and was like an encyclopedia explaining the rich history of the island from the formation of the island itself, through the ancient civilizations that inhabited the island (including a visit to the incredible Minoan ruined city), and the many other fascinating eras of the island’s history up until modern times. We discussed the history while en route to three different wineries where we had private tastings, and our guide’s knowledge of wine (he worked as a sommelier previously) was equally as extensive as his knowledge of history. Our driver Alex was wonderful and hospitable as well. I couldn’t imagine a better tour on this beautiful island, and I would recommend doing it as early in your visit as possible as you will learn of many more things you can do and see during your stay. Thank you Andrew and Alex!!
Highly recommend!!! Andrew was our guide and his knowledge on the history of the island was unmatched. He was very personable and fun to be around. A great way to see some of the best parts of Santorini in half a day!
My daughter and I had the best experience with Top Santorini Tours! We had the pleasure of having Aléxandros (Alex) as our driver and Andréas (Andrew) as our guide! They were both knowledgeable, funny, attentive and kind, which made for a great half day tour. We visited a lot ot sites and took a ton of pictures with the assistance of Andréas! They also were very accommodating by making sure we were comfortable during our tour and that we had plenty of water. Alex and Andrew were absolutely the best this was a beautiful and informative tour that allowed us to see all of the highlights of Santorini! Definitely will use Top Santorini Tours again and equally recommend them for your tour and transfer needs!
Santorini is a feast for all your senses, and this company provides the perfect service to make sure you don't miss out on a thing! Would recommend to all my friends.
One of the best experiences to do in Santorini, whether as a couple, with friends or as solo traveler. I loved the treatment of Alex, who is very professional and kind in his work. A very unusual, fun, and different way to get to know the island, since not only do you taste delicious wines and understand about this unique production, but you also have the opportunity to visit different places with magnificent views. An experience that I highly recommend as a international Tourism Journalist.
Santorini has always seemed so remote, like going to the Moon - but this year we decided to take the chance! the only thing is it's much BIGGER than you'd imagine and you definitely can't walk everywhere, so we booked this trip to get a better idea of the island and what a lovely introduction! the guide and the driver were very friendly and knowledgeable, we felt absolutely safe and there were nice little things like cold water in the fridge or stopping to get the local sweets - 10/10 recommend.
We were very happy with our tour. We requested a Spanish-speaking guide and his Spanish was really good! He and the driver showed us everything on the island and it was beautiful! It was nice that we had plenty of time on each stop to take pictures and do what we wanted. We definitely recommend taking this tour to learn more about Santorini and to see the most beautiful spots!
We were driven by Fannis and our tour guide was Dora. Obviously, Santorini is a beautiful place, but the ability to see the entire island and to eat some great food at a local restaurant was only possible by booking this tour. Dora was an outstanding guide and was intimately knowledgeable about the history and current affairs of the island. They were very flexible with what we wanted to do. I’d recommend this tour for those interested in the sights, history and food of Santorini.
My mom, sister and I did a private half day tour with Constantino as our guide and I could not recommend this experience more. We had the best day ever!! Constantino is the most genuine and lovely person and you can tell he truly enjoys what he does. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the culture and history of the island. It felt like we were spending the day with a friend. You cannot get this type of experience on any other tour (we did several on our trip and if we could do it again we would have cancelled all the others and just done another day with Constantino). We booked the private beaches tour but we ended up seeing so much more! It was the most personal experience, we chose where we wanted to go and he drove us around to so many parts of the island we would have never seen. This day was the highlight of our 10 day trip. We also met Alex, the owner of the company, you can tell he takes pride in what he does and the services that his group provides. If you are looking for any tour experience in Santorini book with this group and you won't regret it!!
We had a private 5 hour tour with Top Santorini tours. We had an entire mini van for the three of us. We got to see and experience practically the whole island in 5 hours. OIa, black beach, Santo winery for Sunset, top of a Mountain View’s, a cave in a small village with the best gelato we had on our 10 day trip. It was a great tour to see everything with out a car. They picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off at the same location. We always felt safe and were able to see so many things. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the history. We even got to experience a fig from her own garden. We never had fresh figs before and they were very good. I highly recommend this tour especially to see everything that the island has to offer.
The tour which started with our pick up from the hotel lasted 5 hours . We never knew how the time passed . Maria, the young guide, was a picture of magnificence , beauty with brains . Her knowledge about the island, the fluency of the language and the interest taken, was truly unparalleled. Within 5 hours we could move around from Oia to Red beach and back to our dropping point at Athinios port...this was possible only because of the organised manner in which the trip was organised. We would strongly recommend thus trip to anybody travelling to Santorini and yes ..do take Maria as your guide .
Half day tour in a minivan, two American couples in addition to ourselves. Personal pickup at the hotel. Our driver was the perfect guide, driver and photographer. Thank you so much for the perfect and amazing experience! Highly recommended 😊
This was one of a kind experience! Our tour guide Raya (I hope it's the right spelling) and driver Alex were the best company we could ever have, they were very entertaining and knowledgeable about the places we were taken to! We're definitely lucky to have booked this six hours tour, because we would have never discovered all the hidden gems of Santorini by ourselves, especially during such a short stay (we spent only 2 days on Santorini). This team knows their job, the service is absolutely 5 stars!!! We were a group of 6 and all of us enjoyed this tour at super high levels! Very informative guide, always happy to take pictures of us and answer all our questions; very skilled and polite driver too! If you're seeking a professional private tour around this magical island, Top Santorini Tours is what you need!!!
Maria was a magnificent guide, attentive and perfectly adapted to our needs. Like our driver who was magnificent
