Aroma Of Santorini:private Half Day Sightseeing With Wine Tasting

I took a 1/2 day tour with my Daughter by Car with a private guide from Golden Ibex Tours Santorini. Our guides name was Zefris (spelling). He was terrific! He took us all over Santorini island sharing the various villages and the history relevant to the area from which we visited. He was a resident of Santorini so he was extremely knowledgeable about the history and navigated across the island with confidence, and our safety in mind. The roads were very crowded in some areas but he knew how to get us where we wanted to go. We stopped at a beautiful winery for some tasting of delicious wines and a small sample of paring with foods. I would highly recommend this 1/2 day tour and I would recommend you ask for Zefris by name. A tour guide can make or break the enjoyment of the experience and we had a great time getting to know him and the island/villages of Santorini through him. It was a great choice to pick this tour. We wanted to combine the beauty of the island and also had a winery experience, but we just had a really short time to do so (~4h) due to our cruise agenda. Communication with Akis was very thorough and his customer service is top notch. He was very professional and tailored our tour to the things we wanted to do and brought us to some of the most scenic points on the island. We also had an incredible local wine experience in Gavalas Winery (very family and friendly environment and excellent white wines). We wished we had more time there, Santorini is definitely a place we would like to visit again and enjoy deeper. Don’t hesitate to book with this company in order to seize every minute you have. We did a private 4-hour Wine Tasting & Food Pairing tour with Amani visiting 3 wineries .... it was absolutely fantastic! From the convenient pick up at our hotel, Amani was soooo nice! As she was driving to our first stop, Estate Argyros, she gave us a delicious Greek sesame "ring" treat for a quick snack, in addition to a map of the island. Our guide at Argyros was terrific, and the wine & food pairings were just amazing!! Then we were off to the Gavalas winery, so different from Argyros, but the guide and wine & food pairings were great as well .... we even got to meet the owner who is a friend of Amani! Our last stop was at Faros (down near the Lighthouse) where we met the delightful owner / "chef". We got to tour her property, while she made us the most delicious meal. We couldn't finish all of it; but we will never forget her homemade wine & so delicious freshly made tomato fritters!! What a FABULOUS tour .... it was definitely a highlight of our first trip to Santorini; we learned so many interesting facts about the island & "the locals" ....Thanks again, Amani !!

We had an amazing time in Santorini! Our tour guide Amani was absolutely delightful! She gave us great history and customized a tour just for our group including Oia, Fira, Black Beach and a wonderful tavern and winery! She was timely getting us from the airport and returning us to the airport to make sure we didn’t miss our flight! We got really lucky with the weather, given the time of year we visited…nothing but sunny, blue skies! Thank you Amani for making this trip to Santorini unforgettable!

It was the first tour that we booked in Greece and I must say that It was the most great decision we made. Amani is super sweet and super professional. All places take on a different color and depth with her comments and her knowledge. She knows everybody, everywhere!!! Totally recommendable

Santorini island bus tour September 02, 2020. Very reasonable price for an 8 hours bus tour with pick-up included. The tour was provided in both English and French. I must say Amani is a fantastic guide. From the island, she is passionate about the history and the people, not only of her hometown Pyrgos but of all of Strongýlē (Greek: Στρογγύλη, "the circular one", one of the multiple old names of the island.) The tour stops and visits: Pyros, mount Profitis, Red beach, Emporio, Perissa beach, Wine museum with wine tasting and visit, and finishes with Oía (own visit without guide.) I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone who come here and wants to discover more that the sunset. I would also recommend to complement this tour with a wineries tour which I did but not with Golden Ibex.

We did a day trip from Athens tonSntorini with this half day tour of Santorini. Was a private tour for me and my wife. Our tour guide Akis was excellent! He covered most of the island and took us to the popular spots as well as some we would not have seen on our own. He has been living on the island for 20 years and knows so many people and his way around the island. Highly recommend this tour!

Sorry for this late review, but better late than never. Amani was an amazing guide. You could tell that she has done this a long time and knows every corner of Santorini. We enjoyed the Wine Museum and some wine, of course. In addition, we would not have seen Oia if it weren't for this tour as we didn't rent a car (nor would we). It's so beautiful to see different parts of the northwestern part. We will definitely keep you in mind again when we visit, hopefully, next year.

My parents, my son and I came to Santorini, Greece on a cruise ship. On a hot August day with so many tourists and 4-6 cruise ships that day, we were so glad that Golden Ibex suggested to start the tour as early as possible. Our tour guide, Amani, quickly became like family to us, especially when my parents were not in the best health condition on that day. Wonderful, professional, personable, experienced and knowledgeable, Amani, went above and beyond to customize our tour. She knew exactly where to take us, what to show us and best places to take great pictures and insisted on taking perfect pictures of us and they were perfect. She knows the history, culture and people. Amani was mindful of the time when we need to be back on the ship; she knows the routes to avoid traffic and long lines. We've got to see Fira, Firostefani, Oia's Village and made couple stops along the way between towns to take pictures of some breathtaking views. Amani even helped us arrange a visit to one of the black sand beaches after our tour. I would highly recommend to work with and trust Golden Ibex and Amani in Santorini. Amani, my family and I are extremely grateful for meeting you and providing us with such a wonderful experience in Santorini! I so wish to come visit again one day :)

Firstly I’ll say that this lady simply made our day and left such an impression about the island that we will be visiting again. Without her, we’d have been lost amongst the hoardes of tourists and missed out on anecdotes, history, less visited locations and importantly a superb experience. If you’ve only a ridiculously short stop, use this guide to get the most out of the stay, IT’S WORTH IT. We stepped foot on the island somewhat stressed, fearing the worst, being too late as there were 5 cruise ships arriving at the same day at Santortini, Amani waited for us right at the exit to the cable car with a huge smile and nice big printed name sheet, you couldn’t miss! She was able to tailor our tour so we could see all the best of Santorini and still allow us to make it in time for the last boat tender. Her knowledge of the island is impressive, she knew all the shortcuts and best photo locations so we don't waste time in traffic or waiting for crowds to pass by. We got all the highlights and she absolutely insisted on repeatedly grabbing our camera and taking perfect picture portraits of us to take back. The wine tasting experience was the best! It’s the first winery I’ve ever visited where ALL of the samples (tried six) tried were great. I’m not much of a wine drinker myself but We ended buying 5 bottles of wine! The grapes are unique to the island! Amani made our experience unique and we will be definitely coming back for more! THANKYOU

We visited Santorini in October 2017 as a stop on our honeymoon cruise. The city itself is a modern marvel and is picturesque from every angle. We booked the Aroma of Santorini tour and had Amani as our personal guide and Kostas as our driver. We were able to see all of the major spots on the island within a 3.5hour window, as Amani customized our trip based on our preferences. We would highly recommend this tour! Keep reading below for more details about our experience... We met Amani early in the morning at the top of the cable car in Fira. She found us very easily and was prompt. (We would highly recommend an early start time for this or any tour of Santorini because you can beat the crowds and tour buses!) Amani talked to us about the history and geography of Santorini and fielded our questions about the people and culture. We felt that her tour really hit the high spots: Fira, Oia, the black sand beaches, and Imerovigli. We even visited the Gavalas Winery and were able to tour while they were bottling! Amani and Kostas made sure to give us enough time to explore each city, on foot and driving. We were able to get photos at the lookouts and we met local friends! At the end of our tour, Amani gave us a great restaurant recommendation to round our our trip. We loved Santorini!!

We got to tour Fira as well as other villages with fantastic scenery. We also toured Gevala Winery where we sampled different bottles. The tour, Amani and Kosta were informative, pleasant and a delight to spend half a day with. Definitely recommend this activity.</p>

<p>Our tour guide Akis was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and gave us a good background of Santorini. He was very very spirited and funny despite the 38-degree heat! The itinerary was sufficient which included visiting various villages, picture-taking in scenic locations plus wine tasting. By pure and happy coincidence, while preparing my stay for Santorini, and exploring reviews on the Internet, I came across excellent comments relating to the quality of services and professionalism of Golden Ibex Events & Tours. Based on this, I chose to contact them to schedule a complete and private tour of the island off the beaten track and the crowds of tourists. My unforgettable stay in Santorini took place from October 11 to 17, 2023. Before departure, my discussions with Amani and Akis were reassuring. They have a perfect command of several languages (French, English, Arabic, etc.) which facilitated communication. On Amani's generous and valuable advice and recommendations, I was able to find an excellent homestay (with a private entrance) in the charming village of Pyrgos. I was also easily able to pick up a rental car as soon as I arrived at the airport. All this at very attractive prices. The evening of my arrival, the guide couple Amani and Akis made themselves available to meet me, get to know me and talk to me about the program of my visits that they designed especially for me. I will refrain here from describing the beauty of the island and its beautiful surprises because many have done it perfectly and faithfully before me, are doing it and will do it again after me... What I wish to emphasize, through this comment, is certainly the chance I had to be able to discover the entirety (or almost) of the island, in the best way possible, in the company of these excellent guides, lovers of their island and passionate about their profession. Perfect ambassadors of their country and their culture. They know the places and their history, the customs and the culinary and artistic specialties… The program was complete: walks and strolls in several typical villages, visits to archaeological sites, folk dance shows, scuba diving, hiking in incredible and uncrowded places, cooking workshops, tastings, cruises... and so on. and the best All these beautiful discoveries, perfectly orchestrated by these charming and interesting people so humble and generous with an infectious joie de vivre so much so that the return was difficult. The bar is set very high. For people who want to discover this end of the world, I highly recommend Golden Ibex Events & Tours. A successful memorable trip, guaranteed! Viaje con mi esposo a SANTORINI por nuestros 40 años de matrimonio, este tour fue una experiencia MARAVILLOSA , y fue gracias a RENA nuestra guía turística, nos hizo el tour en ESPAÑOL, y fue tan increíblemente, es una excelente persona nos explico con tanto detalle y tanto amor, nos invito un postre muy amable ya que fue su cumpleaños el dia anterior y nos había guardado un poquito para que probemos un poco de las delicias de los postres griegos. Tan amable, bella , y con tanto conocimiento y amor por la cultura griega, nos ayudo mucho a comprender de la historia de Santorini.
