The War of the Pacific in the 1880's was a major punctuation point in the history of Chile. The Chilean armed forces, anchored by the Navy, eventually triumphed over Bolivia and Peru. Chile seized land in the north with valuable mineral resources (saltpeter and copper), trashed Lima, and pushed Bolivia back from the seacoast into land locked status. Anyone wondering about whether these successes are important and well-remembered should spend some time looking up this quite impressive monument to the victory and its leaders. The monument also serves as a focal point of Sotomayor Square and can be seen from many of the surrounding hills
Renaca is reached from Vina del Mar in the south by a coastal road. To the rear of the main town and ocean front the town rises quickly with many steep roads. Shops bars and restaurants aplenty. The beach sandy and clean with a nice promenade

Nice square commemorating the important literary history of the city. Very nice architecture around and some lovely gardens. Nice stop-over point on the way to Pablo Neruda's house. Shake hands with a statue. Put your arm around another.
This place is unique in many ways. The buildings are very european and the views are splendind. There are many stores and restaurants, aswell as lovely picture stops and lovely artcrafts sold all over the place.

Pablo Neruda's house is one of the talked about destinations at Valparaiso. Its a small house on top of Cerro Bellavista.. One of the many elevator lines that take folks up and down the hills. Very practical in this very vertical city.
This is the oldest funicular in Valparaíso. The view is wonderful, even if you can see daylight through the floorboards. It is a real local experience!
Every visitor to the area should visit this iconic spot. Even on a not so sunny day its very picturesque.

The tour was as outlined in the booking. Our tourguide, Leandro, was attentive to the passengers and narrated in both English and Spanish. The restaurant chosen for lunch was pricey, but it was optional.
Leandro was a great guide. Definitely worth visiting the places as part of a tour. I would probably recommend researching lunch places around Reñaca as the recommended restaurant was very “touristy”. Alternatively, take a packed lunch to eat at the beautiful beach.
Very nice, colorful tour , guide is fun and knowledgeable
Great experience, beautiful place. Ignacio is very friendly, smiling and helpful. He speak both Spanish wnd English fluently. Highly recommend. Only advise is to avoid the restaurant that the company take you to as it has double prices and add 10% on top. Just walk to the next restaurants near it.
Fantastic trip.. guide Leandro was very good.. unfortunately the return was delayed by unexpected hailstorm rain and traffic backlog.. I would recommend this trip.. pick up and drop off from you residence. Leandro was very helpful in keeping the group together giving sufficient time.. he coordinated well with a WhatsApp group.. overall excellent.. Not an issue but a thing to change is to complete explaining all the content in one language (Spanish)and switch to the next language (English) rather than sentence by sentence which easily looses focus if you don’t the language..
All excellent except the minibus broke down on the way home. However the guide summoned help and we were under way again within the hour. Christan was good throughout, taking time to ensure we, the only non spanish speakers, understood and coyls ask questions
The places are nice, worth to visit and watch.
This tour was very interesting and informative. Ignacio was our guide. He is very knowledgeable and was very helpful through out the tour. The weather was perfect. I enjoyed the tour.
The tour was very interesting and informative. Ignacio was our guide, he is very knowledgeable and was very helpful. We started at 7 am and was back before 5 pm.
Fantastic day. Great value for money. Leandro was an excellent guide. Very impressed with how easily he juggled multiple languages while keeping everyone engaged. Valparaiso was beautiful and commentary was very interesting. Only downside was we had a full bus and it took 1.5hrs in the morning to pick everyone up. In saying that, they were very efficient and organized
Leandro was amazing!! Highly recommend this tour
Ignacio was a super friendly and kind tour guide for the day, full of good vibes. We enjoyed a walking tour around Valparaiso and got to see all of the beautiful murals. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of the group’s questions, ensuring everyone got to know each other. I’m glad we did the tour vs going on our own.
Tour Is full of tourist traps. There is no wine tasting, it's actually a super tiny amount of wine (like Italian espresso coffee) in a huge tourist trap shop that sells everything 3x the price (coffee + croissant 11€). The lunch restaurant is the same but there are other options nearby that don't try to scam you. If it weren't for this the tour would be great, the guide is knowledgeable and the bus is comfy and clean. I just don't like to be ripped off.
Leandro GUIA is a great tour guide. He is knowledge and enthusiastic person. I think the tour was successful mostly because of him. Besides, the tour was designed quite well, ranging from Casablanca Valley to the colorful own city then the beautiful beach. Valparaiso is a nice and must-visit place :).
It was very nice and interesting trip
Leandro and our driver Jose planned a perfect day exploring this region of Chile! Leandro moved easily between Spanish & English and made sure to include everyone. He is clearly proud of his country and heritage. He taught us a great deal in an engaging way. I highly recommend this tour with him!
To start off, Ignacio was a GREAT tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. He translated everything into Spanish and English and answered everyone’s questions. Jose did a great job driving. The tour itself was difficult and boring in my opinion. I feel like there were way too many people to do a walking tour. Also, having to translate both languages takes a long time. I believe the tour should be smaller and/or one language per tour so it’s not a lot of time waiting. Everything just moved really slow. Also, I was not a fan of how late we had lunch nor that we only had basically ONE option to choose from. They were also pricy and pushy. The tour made multiple scenic stops which was nice though.
Great guide! Thank you Ignacio for all the friendly hosting and great information
Muy buen tour, Christian es un excelente guide.
Ignacio and the bus driver were so nice and friendly! He spoke great English, Spanish, and Portuguese and we loved the amount of time we spent at each place and are so glad we saw all that we did! The price is very fair as well
Leandro our tour guide and Jose our driver were a dynamic duo, Jose drove us to places smoothly and Leandro had a fantastic job in translating and delivering a crash course in history, geography, culture and arts. to sum it up, i had a great day.
It was a very interesting and enjoyable tour.
Today my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of doing this tour with Ignacio as the tour guide and Jose as the driver. The night before we were notified of our pickup time. There were some mechanical issues in the morning, but the plans for delays and updates were clearly communicated. Ignacio was able to provide lots of insights in both Spanish and English. He made the drive fun with his friendly and positive attitude along with interesting insights about our trip. The tour was excellent in every way from beginning to end. This was my girlfriend's first tour and she kept thanking me for convincing her to go. We walked through the neighborhoods of Valparaiso while being given insights and history of what we saw. There are lots of opportunities to take beautiful pictures and have little breaks between walking. The dinner stop at the Mediterranean restaurant was also perfect. The filet with seafood sauce was perfect and enough for 2 people. I highly recommend this entree. We were able to sit on the beach after and take pictures. Because of the delay we got to see the gorgeous sunset, making this tour even more special. Again, I highly recommend this tour. The price, communication, tour guide, driver, sights, food, and everything in between was amazing. Thank you!
We were really lucky to go on this 10-hr tour with Pablo Rayo. He is so knowledgeable, funny, efficient and professional. Pablo is very people oriented and we immediately formed friendly connections. He kept our attention throughout the trip sharing interesting information and the day was filled with fun, jokes, excitement and laughter. Thank you Pablo!
The walking tour of some parts of Valparaiso is not senior friendly. You have to go up and down some steep stairs.
Wonderful experience. Pablo Rayo was the most fun and involved guide we have ever experienced. Thank you!
Lovely day out at Valparaiso port city with Ignacio our amazing guide who spoke English Portuguese and Spanish throughout the tour. He gave enough information about the history and unique aspects of the city without losing our attention, Our bus driver was very safe and kept us even a little ahead of schedule. Valparaiso is definitely worth a visit when you visit Santiago. The quirkiness of the buildings and colourful artworks make you feel like you’re back in the 1950’s. Great photography everywhere! We also had a nice beachfront restaurant lunch watching a few brave surfers.
Had a fantastic trip from Santiago to Casablanca, Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. Pablo the guide was above excellent, lovely, witty, informative and very knowledgeable. The driver Jose great too. As a solo traveller I felt very welcome and looked after. It was interesting to hear about the country, visit the vineyard and see the Pacific coast. The walking tour around Valparaiso was the highlight and exceptional - it would have been impossible to do that on my own - a great potential for getting lost. A great day - long but well worth it - thank you.
This was great. The tour guide was very interactive and answered all our questions. We felt safe with him and it was very fun. I would recommend.
We had a great time! It was colder than expected, but luckily the first stop had a second hand store so we could purchase warmer clothing and we really enjoyed the whole day. Pablo was good fun as our guide and also was really informative about the history and culture of the areas too and gave us time to stop at some souvenir places :)
I really had a nice trip to Viña Del Mar and Valparaiso. I lived there back in 2001 and I was excited to take my family to see it. It was interesting to go on the trip and learn all sorts of fascinating factoids about Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar. One thing I didn’t like is that at the very end of the tour they drop you off at a restaurant to eat at. And you basically have no choice but to eat there as there are no other places to eat anywhere nearby. The food was good, just very pricy.
we visited and booked this tour and it was amazing. Ignacio is a great guide and Jose a great driver. I enjoyed walking around Valparaiso and learning about its culture. Highly recommend
The pick up was very smooth, with a live location showing you where the bus was at all times and individual pick up times for each customer. The variety of the day was great and we loved spending time at the beach during our lunch break. The travel back to the city was long and some people changed their mind where they wanted to be dropped off to which made the journey even longer, but this is still a 5 star trip. Pablo Rayo was an excellent guide with a lot of enthusiasm and spoke very good English. He also spoke slow Spanish so it was easy to follow him if you can speak Spanish but arent native.
Pablo is a nice guy and we enjoy a lot!
Fantastic trip! We were visiting Santiago and the trip to Vina Del Mar was a enjoyable moment.
Trip with Pablo to Vina Del Mar and Paraíso was fantastic experience. We truly enjoyed it . Pablo was born to be a tour guide !!
It was a very well organised trip. Pablo was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable: "5". Highly recommended. I'd love to return to this trip and do it again, by choosing Pablo. Loved everything The restaurant has been booked by Pablo- saved us time. Loved everything about my trip.
Very informative, nice companion. Tour guide was excellent in explaining the historical facts and very accommodating.
A very well conducted trip. Timing was maintained. The bus was very comfortable. Knowledgeable guide
We had a great day. Valparaiso was incredible and I could have wandered round there for hours. Really interesting and charming place. Francisco was a fantastic guide, really informative, giving information in both Spanish and English. Trip is well worth it.
Fransisco was an incredible host and an even bettee translator. He took great care to ensure everyone in the group understood his message whereever we went. He was hilarious and very educational. I learned so much about the history of Chile & Valporaiso and Im so happy I chose to take this trip to see more of Chile in my short time in Santiago. Highly recommend!
Fantastic must do tour when in Santiago hosted by Ignacio, the best tour guide ever and driver Jose, the best bus driver ever. Very informative tour in both English and Spanish with a bit of light hearted banter thrown in to bond the passengers. Don’t miss this opportunity if you have only a day free……you must do this trip
Great , extremely professional tourguider Ignatio , smily and helpful all the time.In addition Jose driver looked after for our safety.
ignacio was awesome as a tour guide , he was very knowledgeable about the tour and was good at getting the group to interact with each other . everything went smooth from pick up to drop off , jose was a wizard behind the wheel and got us to and from everywhere safe . can’t thank both of them enough for an awesome experience
If you want a simple and safe way to see Viña Del Mar and Valparaiso, this tour is a great option. The logistics were excellent: we received a WhatsApp message the night before with our pickup time, and they even provided a live map of the bus's location so we knew exactly when to head downstairs. Our driver, Julio, was prompt, and while the bus seats 35+ people, our group was comfortably small with only about 20 passengers. The drive is about two hours there and more three hours back due to traffic. Our first stop was a rest area for breakfast and a wine tasting, which was honestly nothing special and the food is a bit pricey for what you get. However, our guide, Pablo, was incredibly informative and entertaining throughout the day. To be honest, the town itself felt quite rundown with not a ton to see, but Pablo’s insights really made the experience a lot more interesting. Be prepared for a decent amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. Also, if you are visiting around winter, it gets incredibly chilly, so definitely dress warmly or you will be freezing! During the tour, you'll have the chance to ride the old elevator up one of the hills. You will need 1,000 CLP in cash for this, which is nice to experience, but you can also just walk the 130-ish steps instead (which is very easy, in my opinion). We ended the day near the beach with lunch at a pretty good seafood restaurant (they offered non-seafood options as well). On the way back, they can drop you off somewhere else along their route if you requested it. Overall, a very well-organized and hassle-free excursion!
Our guide, Ignacio, was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable and patient with our entire group. He really highlighted Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar with his stories. We also felt very safe with our driver, Jose. Great tour - would definitely recommend.
Really well organised tour! The day goes really smooth! Our guide Pablo Rrrrrayo is really good and he speaks perfect English and Chilean! Julio the driver drove us safely everywhere! I definitely recommend it!
Ignacio was amazing. Was greeted with friendly smile and a great attitude. The day was full of great views and lots of information. If you are in Santiago and are looking for a day trip to explore a different area, I recommend booking this tour.
Long day picked up 6:15am back at 7:45pm Lunch was lovely. Tour guide Ignacio & bus driver were great
