Small-group Tour: Valle Nevado And Farellones From Santiago

Edison was a wonderful driver and guide. He was honest about the weather conditions and gave us great recommendations to enjoy the view of the mountains. We are not skiers but wanted to experience a taste of the Andes since our other tour to the Inca Lagoon was cancelled due to weather. It was a perfect low-key day to enjoy the snowy landscape and make a shorter trek into the Andes.

We had a great day at the snow, Diego was an informative and helpful guide all day.

Alvaro was an amazing tour guide he took care of every detail and share a lot of information about Chile The tour is a great experience and we got a lot of time to play with the snow in diferent spots Alvaro also makes sure everyone is having s good time and helps to get amazing pictures of the trip!

This was a last minute change of plan because our original trip was canceled due to reasons outside the tour operators control. However - we had a great day, made even better by the unexpected snowfall the night before. Beautiful scenery and a great commentary from Francisco. And Alejandro kept us safe on the many hairpin bends!!

This tour was actually provided to us as a substitute when the original tour I had booked to the Inca Lagoon got cancelled due to bad weather, but it ended up being a great tour. Our guide, Álvaro, was wonderful—very friendly, lively and informative And our driver, Angelo, maneuvered the steep road up to the peaks of the Andes so well. I highly recommend this tour!

This could be an amazing trip but as I found out, it is very weather dependant. When we left Santiago around 0800 there was a steady rain coming down and overcast. About 45 minutes into the trip we stopped at a gear rental place where you can rent things like, snow pants, winter coats, boots and ski equipment, etc. As we started up the mountain the rain quickly changed to snow which was beginning to stick to the road so our driver wisely stopped and put snow chains on our van, a very wise decision. The drive up to Valle Nevado is a 2500m ascent to the resort at 3000m. This is a very slow zigzag trip up the mountain with approximately 60 switchbacks taking around 1 hour. Once safely at the top our group had around an hour to walk around the resort, take photos and use the washrooms. This would have been a fantastic place to spend a few hours relax and get some magical photos but due to the weather we were in a whiteout with nothing to see except snow and no where to relax as the ski resort has not opened for the season. In my opinion I would not recommend this tour at this time of year. It’s a very treaterous drive in bad weather, there is nothing to see as the views are completely obscured, nothing is open in the resort and due to the weather getting worse our day trip was almost cut in half. All that said, our guide Alvaro and our amazing driver Recardo were both friendly, helpful and most important attentive to our safety. They were excellent!!!👍

This tour is great for outdoor and wine lovers. We enjoyed seeing the Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the southern and western Hemisphere, tasting Chilian wine and the breathtaking views of Inca lagoon.

Gabriel is a superb tour guide. He is punctual, ready to adapt quickly to his guests' needs, full of the information you want, and most of all, is witty and warm. A wry entertainer, he makes a long day great fun. And these really are small group tours, so Gabriel's service is personal. His van is clean and in great condition for a smooth drive - a very valuable thing on the winding roads up to the spectacular Andes. In all, I am very happy to recommend Gabriel.

Booked this when I was visiting Santiago with my daughter. Gabriel our guide was great. He picked us up right on time, took us to a local ski shop to renting our ski equipment, and then helped us getting out lift ticket. Snow pack was a little low this year, but still was good skiing. At the end of the day, our guide was right there to pick us up. Overall could not have asked for better service from this tour.

<p>Loved the tour up in the Andes. Visiting the ski villages was very interesting and the view into the valley to see Santiago was fantastic. We saw condors in flight, obviously close to snow. Even though everything is closed one restaurant open it was good to visit. Great scenery.</p>

I highly recommend with this format offered by Go2Chile Travel. Strategic stops, very well conducted by the guide Victor Fuentes. Safe driving with Mr. Alejandro. Despite the Farelones park being closed on this day, our experience was not lacking in anything. It was about 7 hours of touring but it was very much worth it.

The service practically consists of the transfer. Afterward, you are on your own at each point. The pickup was very early (5 am Chile time) and you return approx. 3 pm. Bring water. The bus will make a stop at a rental place (approx. full adult kit 35 to 40 thousand pesos); they also sell breakfast, which is very expensive for what it actually is (if you can, bring your own snack). Believe me, if you leave that early, the rental is essential. Bring sunscreen since there is a lot of sun and it hits hard.

The tour was excellent, from the agency's management to the guide Alvaro, who managed the trip excellently. All the information was clear and helped us a lot. An excellent trip, highly recommended.

The ride itself is legal, but we couldn't enjoy much. There was a very big movement climbing the mountain range, we left 7 hours in the morning from Santiago and arrived in Farellones almost 14 hours.. Since we climbed the last 10 curves on foot, it was all stopped. To return we took almost the same thing.. They should control people's access.

Our tour of the snowy valley was cancelled the night before because of low demand! We missed the visit to Snow! I requested refund. I would NOT buy again with this operator!

Good walk, even considering the little snow at the time, soon the following days snowed and still gave to enjoy various activities. Even though there were problems such as the non-group formation of the tour I managed to solve the best way with the agency and prepared to meet our needs.

It was a great opportunity to meet the Andes, on a day trip with beautiful scenery and in the company of the guide Alvaro, who speaks well Portuguese and English and demonstrates knowledge about Chile and sympathy with the tourists. The driver was also very careful and made us feel safe throughout the journey.

The tour was very nice, we saw a lot of snow and the guide Álvaro always very attentive. The street to get to Valle Nevado has quite a lot of curves so if they get dizzy easy I recommend taking some medicine or sleeping.

Não levaram a gente ao vale nevado só até firellones e não fizeram nenhum tipo de reembolso .Levaram a gente tbm para alugar roupas em um local muito caro mas tudo bem porém minha reclamação foi que paguei para ir a dois locais e só nos levaram a um e ainda chegamos relativamente tarde e voltamos cedo, lá ainda na volta dizeram que não haveria mais o passeio a portilho pq a estrada estava fechada mas poderíamos fazer com eles um passeio a valparaiso e vinha delmar e haveria um estorno da diferença , esse nunca chegou

Skiing or not skiing. No question. Even for those who do not know, do not want or can not ski, the tour is worth the beauty of the landscapes. The road is steep and winding (we are in the Cordillera) so it is important to be with an experienced and safe driver. You can also stay at hotels, Airbnb or guesthouses in Nevado Valley. For those who are not going to ski, it is better to stay in Santiago and make a walk around.

Me and my wife loved the tour with the agency, we could not go on Sunday because we had only us scheduled, but quickly remarketed and did all the procedures, the Guide Alvaro was great, we recommend!

Amazing walk! Guid Alvaro very attentive! Beautiful place!! Farellones just needs to have a better structure to welcome visitors well. There are many queues which impedes the walk. In the rest, everything is wonderful!

La empresa canceló el paseo un dia antes del tour, dijerón que no había gente suficiente para completar la van y nos ofrecieron otros paseos, pero los paseos disponíbles estaban más caros y pedimos el reembolso íntegro de 3 a 5 dias laborales, sigo aqui esperando el reembolso que todavía no se ha hecho.

To spend the day in the mountains, the guide was a spectacle apart. I brime all the time, I advise, I stop to take photos and rent equipment. Excellent, don't miss a magical day in the snow.

O guia nos orientou que não teria nada para fazer no vale nevado e que o parque Farellones estaria lotado se fôssemos até o Nevado, porem Farellones sem neve, ficamos até as 15 sem fazer nada. Não gostei, não indico

Foi uma viagem bastante agradável... a viagem é bem diferente.... a subida é uma experiência a parte... Farellones praticamente não tinha neve e acabamos não entrando no parque já que é pago a parte e não teria muito o que fazer.. também acabamos optando por não ir até Valle Nevado. Nosso guia Patricio (que foi extremamente simpático durante toda a viagem) nos levou até a estação de ski Colorado. Não tínhamos intenção de esquiar... e os preços não animam pois achamos as aulas salgadas ( 120 dólares por uma hora de aula. A estação é bacana.... e valem as fotos... e vale esquiar pra quem tem disposição.

It was a wonderful walk, we were caught at the hotel 7:50 (we passed the exact time the day before), we stopped at the costume rental store, we went up to the snowy valley, where we spent 2:30h. On the return we stopped in farellones, quickly and before 15:00 we were at the hotel. We found the times perfect, since we were having a baby. Guides are very friendly and speak Portuguese. One tip: take a cure for nausea, the path is quite full of curves, my daughter and my husband went badly.
