I made reservations for the full day tour of the mountains and the day before the tour they changed it to something that didn’t fit our schedule so we had to not accept the changes they offered.

Itinerary
The collection of passengers starts from hotels in Santiago from 07:00 - 08:00, where we will start heading to the Andes mountain range, through a path of 40 curves. On the way we can see Santiago from the height and be able to breathe fresh mountain air. At approximately 10 we will reach 2,700 meters. above sea level, where is Farellones, known to be one of the few mountain towns in Chile.
We will also visit the famous center of El Colorado. Located 39 km from Santiago, it is a ski center, open all year round, however the snow season from the months of June to September is dedicated entirely to snow sports, the rest of the year can be active of mountain like walks, ascents, horseback riding among others.
We will continue our ascent to Valle Nevado, in which there are 20 curves to reach that prestigious ski center located at 3000 m.s.n.m. headquarters of important championships such as snowboarding, held annually. Then we will have enough time to have lunch (on behalf of the passengers). In the afternoon return to Santiago, to be at your Hotel at 18:00 approx.

Comfortable van with plenty of room. Our driver was very knowledgeable about where to get equipment and snow clothes, stopped at a gas station for us to get snacks, and waited while we went skiing. Very nice driver, promt.
I was there 30th of June this year, which is equivalent to ou December. Since I did not know what to find, I did only a day trip from Santiago. It was the first snow of the season. It was powder snow and beautiful weather. I believe the hotels are a little pricey. Installations are not comparable to Europe and ski hire a little poor. But al in all good slopes and good experience.
My wife and I were picked up by Romina y Jorge promptly at 9:00am at our AirBnB on Vicuña MacKenna in a very nice, new Hyundai van. It was just the four of us. Romina’s English was excellent; Gorge’s driving was skillful and very attentive which is definitely needed on this winding mountain asphalt two-lane up to Valle Nevado. We live in a small Colorado ski town so we knew exactly what to expect when visiting ski areas in the off-season, but Romina seemed somewhat worried that we might be disappointed by the dry, barren ghost town atmosphere. I assure you, we were not. We saw all four ski areas with plenty of walk around and photo taking time, and we got to see two condors circling as well . . . a first for us! The ski resort landscape of the Andes is very typical in altitude to most Colorado ski areas, 9,000-12,000 feet, however, the biggest difference is that there are NO trees or trail skiing; it’s all wide open. They must have some dynamite powder skiing at times, and having observed their Thiokol-like snow grooming equipment, they must have a good trail grooming program as well. We would now love to see the areas in the winter, but driving the steep road up when it’s icy or snow packed would be intense. We heartily recommend this tour for those that just want to see Santiago’s high country, 17,815 foot El Plomo, and its Glacier in the summer. Thank you!

Can't remember our tour guide for this trip but he was beyond awesome. May not remember his name but I sure will remember him for the rest of my life. He gave us a super tour it was just my friend and I on this tour and he just went overboard for us. It so happened that when we were on the Andes mountain my friend fell while going up down a section of the mountain and broke her wrist. He immediately took charge and called for help then we cut our tour and he took us to the hospital and sat there with us for the entire day and evening until he had to go to his family. I was beyond impressed with his hospitality.

Good ski resort, only 2 hours from Santiago, very close to other resorts. Heavy traffic and crowded during weekends, if you can go during weekdays.

Couldn't make to Vale Nevado due to snow. But the guide made to other sky station on the way which was great. Many others tours companies just came back to Santiago.

Good tour except advertised as 8 hours but only lasted 4 and a half and they were one hour late picking us up from hotel.

Rodrigo and Rodrigo made this tour for us. Yes, we all agree that Rodrigo is a VERY TALENTED tour guide. He proved it once again.

BUT, how about our driver Rodrigo? How many times did he make us feel comfortable while driving UP on an icy road and slowly DOWN the mountains on the return.

These two gentlemen MADE THE TRIP FOR US.

It was a GLORIOUS day in the Andes. The mountains are beautiful. This is not something that we, experienced travellers, could have done without Viator. Too expensive for a cab. No local bus service. So Viator was our best ally.

Had a beer and a water con gas on the teraza at the very top.

Have already mailed my four buddies so that they can eat their hearts out.

We understand that there is really nothing you can do about the one family of four who returned late from the lodge and left ALL OF US sitting on the bus for 40 minutes after we had waited 20 extra minutes in the morning because they were not ready. NOT YOUR FAULT. What could you do? Leave them? Not appropriate.

It was nice to be able to rent cold weather clothes on the way up. A bit pricey, but better than being cold. Potential customers will want to know that ahead of time . . . or did we forget to pay attention to a notice?

At any rate, Rodrigo and Rodrigo were EXCELLENT.

Thank you.

This is a waste of money! The bus took us at 7:20 at hotel, and spent 5 hours, taking another 16 people on 7 diferente locations.
When we finally arrived at Valle Nevado, it was 12:00, we had just two hours to have lunch and see place. The return was another nightmare. We arrived at 8:00pm.

It was incredible. Our guide - Belu - was essential for it to be a beautiful experience! It is absolutely worth it and incredible scenery!
Going to the Nevado Valley is well worth it. But this panoramic tour leaves much to be desired, as there is no guide, that is, they only take and leave at the points and then go to another stop. The driver was in a great hurry, and the road is very winding, people had nausea, besides the road being very dangerous.
For those who have never been to the snowy valley I recommend. Oh, pretty interesting. We were lucky. Sandrito guide and driver served us very well.
Very good the trip, we went with Juan jose a guide who knows a lot, and besides being attentive to everything, I went with my young children and he took care that we had fun at every stop, great.
I made the purchase of the Vacation Package, the driver informed me that it was not only snow valley, after showing to him, the same arranged another driver to pick us up at 14:30 being impossible to spend the day in the snow valley, all the other cies got to pick up the staff at 16:00, that is, completely disorganized company making me in the detriment of the ski that I rent, not taking advantage of the track, due to the schedule, no one stays until 14:30 there.
Beautiful tour, very polite and attentive Guide, amazing places that exceeded my expectations. You can go that you will love
Amazing place, exemplary guides, hotel reception and wonderful food Super receptive people, out the place that's amazing
We are Brazilians, the tour was wonderful, the guide was punctual and very polite, really worth every penny, they are really nice
The tour was only for Valle Nevado and they had not organized well with the seats, there were many people and few seats and they transferred me to another van, the other van was going to Farellones Park with all the occupants so they literally convinced me to go there I had a good time but it was not what I asked for and what I initially paid for. Poorly coordinated… The driver and his companion very well.
Very messy park. Lots of queue. A lot of time wasted accessing the park, even if you bought tickets in advance... I don't recommend it for anyone who wants to ski. You waste the entire day of your trip to have 2 hours of skiing.
We paid for an individual visit and they put us in a van with 10 people. Very bad communication, 48 hours before seeking confirmation and the night before they said they would arrive at 5:30 AM, with 7:30 AM being agreed months before!
Since the trip climbing the mountain range is an unforgettable walk. It was our first contact with the snow and it was perfect. On the way we still stop at the Park de Farellones and also at La Parva, too beautiful.
It's just shaking well that gets everything right! You can rent all the clothes and snow shoes and enjoy a lot. We loved dinner on the terrace...all beautiful!
We went in June to meet two snow parks that are near Santiago. We picked up a van in the Hotel and after being all the group, we went to a shop to rent snow clothes. We continue to the Mountain, walking a route full of curves and still very enjoyable. We arrived after about 2 hours of walking to the first ski resort called Farellones, then we had to place chains on the tires of the van to keep climbing safely up the route that was quite slippery from the snow. We reach more than 3000 meters high the second station called Valle Nevado. A highly recommended walk to do with boys.
From the very punctual pickup at the Hotel, the guide named Mauricio, was very formidable, he was commenting brief reviews about the city of Santiago, when entering the Andes area, always showed attentive and careful everything, we had a great day with Nevada, both on the way and when arriving to the Beautiful Snowy Valley. Recommended Travel!
We went to Valle Nevado and Farellones today. Recommended 100%. They arrived punctually, treated us very well throughout the journey both to and from. Farellones is a beautiful place, with a certain variety of places to eat and buy souvenirs, which while not so cheap are worth the price. I'd go again.
Beautiful place, the road and getting scared kkkkkkk full of curves and in the middle we stopped for chains on the wheel of the car because only went up so I went in July high season is super full very cold , super full restaurant did not like it very much , but the tour is very worth it the ideal was even able to stay two days to enjoy the hotels, there is a village on the rise Fair lots small and cute I liked and indicate so much that I will return now in July with friends
I loved spending the whole day in Valle Nevado, without the ride of the divided tour Valle Nevado/Farellones. For those who like to look at the place calmly, lunch with time in a restaurant... is perfect! I had already made the combined tour and felt the lack of time to use the infrastructure of the Valle. Not that there are many things there (in case you don't ski or don't like landscape photography). But on the combined ride, my son wanted to take the snowboard class and didn't give time. By the way, I only got a hot chocolate (running!) before leaving for the next tour (Farellones). I felt I could have taken more advantage of the place. Making only Valle Nevado, he could take the snow lesson while we took advantage of the local restaurant (I recommend the table of colds and cheeses with a delicious wine). So, we took him to the restaurant, he ate a brothy pizza and even took a little more of the pistes, while we were talking looking at that wonderful look... I recommend! Tip: If it is snowing, before entering the car ask the driver if he is carrying the Tires to put in. Sounds silly, but you believe my driver had borrowed his to a relative??? Why didn't you think it would snow strongly in the day? And when it started to snow, and it slipped in the curves on the edge of the abyss, he only gave excuses... Until I said: "Let's stop now and put the chains!" It was only then that I found out he hadn't taken the blessings. The result: the car finally packed in a curve, couldn't get out and we stayed there until we were rescued by a friend of him (the driver used the cell phone to ask for help, and that "nearest" Cover who was ready to rescue us was loongeee). We lost part of the morning to this complete lack of professionalism and responsibility. Careful!
This beautiful place is part of the main tourist attractions that Santiago de Chile has, just 1 hour from the city you will have this attraction which is designed for children and adults, just remember that part of this attraction is mainly in the winter time to be able to contemplate the wonderful view and have enough snow to have fun healthy.
An indispensable tour for those who go to Santiago in the snow season. Very beautiful, especially for those who have never seen snow. Great structure in the stations. If you go skiing, you will have to spend the day at a station. The tour that visits 3 stations does not give time for this activity. Just a visit.
It was a day to never forget. My wife and I went by metro {in an incredible mission impossible to get on the train at Baquedanos station at the rush time in the morning, try to avoid this mission}, we arrived at the store of Ski Total, we rented the clothes and went to the Tour Vale Nevado, R$ 471,00 in total for the couple with the rental of the clothes. It was very nice. The road is a little road with many and many curves closed by the mountain range, I recommend taking a dramin before, because a lot of people go wrong. We went up to the valley of Nevado, and finally for the first time we were introduced in real mode to the snow, exciting. The landscapes are to take off for the first trip sailors, we took a lot of photos and went to the skibunda free promoted by the van driver, if possible, choose the Hernan, excellent driver, very calm and attentive! Have fun!
The tour is more like a transfer, because the guide does not talk, does not explain anything. They also promote the rental of unnecessary equipment, if you don’t go skiing in reality you don’t need more than some hacking shoes, pants and a jacket that you could wear and avoid the rental of boots, pants, jacket, gloves and even unnecessary glasses, each of them at 6,000 pesos. In addition, the tour includes two sites but they convince you to visit only one and that is that in reality the time is short, arrives at 11 and returns at 4 and if there are many people the lines are complicated.
Imagine sitting in a place that inspires you to make plans to return... Then I came back....I went once in 2015 and fell in love with the snow... second time 2017... There in the Valley I felt inspired.... I did all the things we dreamed of doing when we thought of snow... I made angel, doll, ski ass, snow bord.... An experience I recommend to everyone who wants to know the snow.
Unfortunately during my stay in Santiago I could not make this excursion of the Andes because they did not reach the minimum number of travelers and because my stay in the city was short I had to change it for the Tour to the Concha y Toro Winery.
Really no waste. Personally I didn't know the snow, the place is beautiful, the fact of being able to ride a proper motorcycle, the view from the height crossing in the aeroplane goes up the adrenaline. There's also the zip line (I didn't use it). Whenever possible wear waterproof clothes and boots to avoid renting used items... You have to finish the walk with a good hot chocolate that offers the stop of the place. The whole route (ascent and descent) has no waste.

We made the car ride we rented, for our use. On the climb that is made by a narrow double-handed road, full of curves, 40 curves are counted, but only after one point of the climb, because before there are many others. During the climb and on the viewpoints, you can see the immense beauty of the Andes mountain range in this Chilean part. Although we left in January, full summer, there was snow in abundance on the summit of two mountains that could be seen far away. On the way, far high is the ski resort Farellones and El Colorado and when you get to the top is the Nevado Valley. A site of impressive structure, unimaginable at that altitude. It is a place that should be crowded in winter, ski season, as there are buildings and more buildings, in addition to houses and hotels. In summer, you don't see a living soul, it looks like a ghost town. You can imagine that whole snowy place, full of people, a lot of people skiing, the apartments, houses and hotels crowded. Must be very good in winter. But it was worth the walk and the wonderful landscape.

Prezadoa ADILSON LUDWIG,

Verifique abaixo uma mensagem importante de Ruta Chile com relação a sua reserva de May 31, 2017 para Valle Nevado Day Trip from Santiago.

Mensagem de Ruta Chile

Referência da reserva: BR-613881534

Dear customer:

The pick up time will be from 08:20 hrs from your hotel reception.

EMERGENCY : 56 9 9275 0297

No horário marcado lá estávamos.

Gracias Mario, mucha suerte!

Excelente passeio, muito bem estruturado, o guia muito bom.
