A great way to make the most of a stopover in Santiago! Ignacio made meeting up convenient, and I felt safe and well looked after throughout the tour. I enjoyed seeing the city’s highlights and returned to the airport in plenty of time for my next flight. Of course, a few hours can’t compare to having a week to explore, but I loved how much I was able to see in that time. It was also wonderful to leave the airport and stretch my legs between flights! I would happily book with Ignacio again and highly recommend this tour.

This tour was amazing and our guide Ignacio made it enjoyable and interesting. Pick up and drop off from the airport was seamless and Ignacio was very flexible to our needs for the day. He was so informative and kept a relaxed vibe throughout. I would highly recommend this on your Santiago Stopover
We had an amazing experience with Nacho during our 10-hour stopover in Chile! Ignacio (Nacho) picked us up directly from the airport and made sure we made the most of our limited time. He was incredibly friendly, accommodating and flexible, suggesting some fantastic places to visit while also happily including the sights we wanted to see. We enjoyed delicious food, great coffee and some lovely Chilean wine along the way! It was such a wonderful way to experience Chile in just a few hours. Nacho then dropped us back at the airport with plenty of time to spare, making the entire experience completely stress-free. I can't recommend Nacho highly enough! Thank you for such a memorable day. I'll definitely be passing your details on to all my friends! 🇨🇱❤️
I thoroughly enjoyed my stopover tour. Fernando picked me up in the foyer of the airport Holiday Inn promptly at 11am and drove me to a couple of different parts of Santiago that he thought would be of interest. He took into consideration my interest in street art and was able to show me some great examples. Even though several attractions are usually closed on a Monday it happened to be a public holiday so the funicular was open - a bonus I hadn't expected. It gave me an overall impression of just how big Santiago is. Fernando is a lovely, thoughtful man who speaks English very well and I enjoyed my conversations with him throughout the 5 hours of my tour. In that short time he was able to give me some insight into Santiago and Chile. It is clearly a place worth spending more time. Given I had so little time I really appreciated this flexible yet professional tour.
We arrived after a long flight and wanted a brief introduction to Santiago city. Communication before the tour was excellent. Itinerary planning was flexible and we had a comfortable and leisurely tour of various hotspots around the city. Pablo our guide is knowledgeable, friendly and a great historian. The car was clean and comfortable and Cristobal our driver was courteous and punctual. We came away with better understanding of the city and picked up handy tips for our return visit. Highly recommend this tour if you have a long-ish layover and want to pack in some sightseeing.
Ignacio made our stopover in Santiago completely stress-free. He picked us up and dropped us off exactly on time, was incredibly friendly, and let us customize the itinerary to suit what we wanted to see. Communication was excellent, and everything was well organized from start to finish. If you’re visiting Chile or just have a long layover in Santiago, I highly recommend Ignacio. He’ll make the most of your time!
We recently had a layover in Santiago and decided to book a tour with Ignacio—it was easily one of the best travel decisions we made. From start to finish, Ignacio was fantastic. He was incredibly flexible, which was a huge relief given the time constraints of a layover. He managed the schedule perfectly, ensuring we saw the highlights without any stress about getting back to the airport on time. Beyond just being a great guide, he was deeply knowledgeable about the city. We truly appreciated the clear, engaging explanations he provided throughout the tour; learning about the history of Santiago from someone so passionate and well-informed added so much depth to our experience. It was a very pleasant, relaxed, and informative way to explore the city. We cannot recommend Ignacio highly enough to anyone looking for a professional and friendly guide in Santiago. Thank you, Ignacio, for making our layover so memorable!
We had an 11-hour layover in Santiago and decided to take a city tour rather than spend the day at the airport. It was an excellent decision and a great way to make the most of the time between flights. The tour was well organised, and we were able to see many of Santiago's highlights, including the historic city centre, , , and viewpoints overlooking the city with the spectacular backdrop of the Andes Mountains. Our guide (Ignacio) was knowledgeable, friendly, and provided interesting insights into Chilean history, culture, and daily life. The pace was relaxed, allowing enough time for photos, a coffee break, and a chance to explore some local areas without feeling rushed. For anyone facing a long layover in Santiago, I would highly recommend leaving the airport and experiencing the city. It turned what could have been a long wait into one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip. Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ignacio, my guide, after realizing that I have visit Santiago before, showed me some interesting areas, that I had not seen before. He was very informative and let me do as much as I wanted. A very good experience filling in my 12 hour layover.
I had a long layover in Santiago, so I decided to book a tour to pass the time. I was traveling solo so I needed one that could accommodate one person rather than needing a group. I hit the jackpot when I booked City Trekking Guide. I had a fantastic time. Ignacio was such a great guide and a very lovely person. He was very clear in his communication prior to my arrival and he was so great throughout. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the city and showing me the sights, but I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations about the culture and social aspects. I would book him again in a heartbeat!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience on this city tour! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, engaging, and thoughtfully planned. Our guide Mauricio was so friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Pickup and drop off at the airport was very easy. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or rediscovering Santiago, this tour offers a fresh and memorable perspective. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to connect with the city in a meaningful and enjoyable way, especially with a long airport layover.

We had an 8 hour layover at Santiago de Chile Airport, and we decided to take this opportunity to visit the city and we couldn't be happier. Ignacio was a great tour guide, very engaging and with a lot of knowledge of the city and the country. He adapted the itinerary to our interests and time in the city, ensuring we were able to see all the must sites the city can offer. He was very flexible throughout, and the communication prior, during and after the tour was great. We would completely recommend the tour!
If you have a 5 hour or longer layover at the Santiago airport you should definitely consider taking a tour with Ignacio. He is friendly, passionate about his country and city and communicates flawlessly in English. Ignacio met me in the lobby of the airport Holiday Inn and we enjoyed a full city tour after which he took me back to the hotel. He can accommodate any schedule and will tailor the tour to your preferences. In my case we went inside a lot of historic buildings and enjoyed both old and new buildings. He prefers to see the city by walking which allowed us to take our time. Everyone in the city was friendly and I never felt unsafe. I highly recommend taking this tour with Ignacio
We had a fantastic day with Ignacio on our stopover. We arrived from Buenos Aires at 11 AM and Ignacio met us at the airport and delivered and interesting, fun and informative overview of Santiago. He was was very communicative and included our desires as well as included a surprise stop at what became my son's fave part of the day. Definitely a winner but be prepared to want to stay longer!
We had a 12 hour layover in Santiago city on the way to Argentina and decided to book this stopover as a way to spend our day outside of the airport. What a good decision! Our guide, Mauricio, had lots of great suggestions on things to see, neighborhoods to explore, and did a particularly good job of pointing out places of interest for when we would return to Santiago the following weekend. This tour is super convenient for a few reasons: (1) if you have luggage, you can store it in a van with you rather than leaving it at the somewhat-expensive left-luggage place at SCL; (2) you can get out and see the city; and (3) there is itinerary flexibility. I appreciated that we could make the itinerary whatever we wanted it to be. We ultimately ended up seeing both historic Santiago as well as just taking a hike around a particularly scenic hill before we settled in, but you could go hike up the side of a small mountain if you wanted, I bet. Otherwise, there's a van so you could do more sightseeing by vehicle. Bilingual guides make this very approachable for non-Spanish speakers and communication ahead of time via WhatsApp is excellent. We had plenty of time to spare to make our evening flight and had no issues whatsoever during our tour. Highly recommended!
Perfect customized layover Santiago sightseeing. Fernando was amazing and in the 5 hours I got to see a lot of the main sights and per my request the real local Santiago areas. Loved the vibe, the veg hot dog stop, the walking around the city was a perfect way to get a sense of Santiago. Best layover time spent. Thanks for customizing my trip ad making it an amazing experience. I give this service and double thumbs up and would highly recommend using Ignacio for Their Santiago tours.
It was a great tour and the pick up and drop off was easy and smooth. Pablo is a great guide and his knowledge of Santiago and Chilean history is wonderful.
We had a wonderful tour of Santiago with Ignacio. Our goal (in six hours...) was to leave with a real sense of the city, and that goal was realized and more. We drove, we walked, and we took the Metro to see beautiful parks, interesting neighborhoods, and historic sites. We stopped off for delicious coffee and had the opportunity to talk with Ignacio about his experiences. He is very knowledgeable, flexible with the itinerary - and fun to be with. We recommend this tour highly.
We had a very long layover in Santiago and this tour fit well. It was easy to find the spot to meet at the airport exit and the guide was very flexible with pickup and drop off times (planned from 2pm to 8pm). Fernando was a wonderful guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him. I enjoyed covering the main highlights of the city, and he did a great job of shortening the tour based on time constraints with our flight departure time. My only surprise was the distance that we walked, it was over 5 miles (over 8km). I am glad that I remembered to bring a change of clothes in my carry-on bag :). If you are not up for a long walk, please let them know and they can adjust the tour for you. We enjoyed visiting Santiago! When we come back with my husband, we will spend more time with the tour.
Our guide Pablo was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of chile which was interesting. I can recommend stop over yours as a great way to fill in the long time between flights.
This tour was fabulous and completely worth every penny. Mauricio picked us up at our hotel in Valparaiso, carried our heavy suitcases out to his SUV, and safely drove us to Santiago. During the ride, he regaled us with stories about Valparaiso and Santiago. He had so much interesting information to offer. Once in Santiago, he took us to the most interesting sights in the city, the likes of which we’ve never seen: an amazing shopping/living village in the heart of the city (Mercado Urbano Tobalana); a gorgeous green space (Bicentennial Park) with colorful plants and trees and black-necked swans, and amazing views; an old fort on Santa Lucia Hill (which he graciously drove us up to the top of a hill which we’d never have been able to climb), and awesome diverse neighborhoods (including Lastarria and a very cool restaurant, and Italia - including a delicious lunch). We were sad when Mauricio had to drop us off at the airport to fly home. He was a pleasure to spend the day with. And the owner of City Trekking Guide, Ignacio, was so very accommodating. We highly recommend this tour, this company, and the guides they hire.
We had a great layover tour with our guide Eddi and our driver Rodrigo. Everything was well organized and so we were fortunate to see all the important sights. The trip is perfect for a lang layober in Santiago.
Fernando was a terrific guy and a great human being. We walked over 9 miles on this full day tour so you need to be reasonably fit for this one. Fernando shared his Chilean pride and soul with us and we could not be happier with the experience!
Safe for solo female travelers - the agency was extremely professional, organized, and communicated clearly. Highly recommend for a long layover in Santiago!
Edward was excellent. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He asked about my interests and customized the tour to my liking. Rodrigo was an excellent driver and also shared knowledge and sights around town. My flight arrived mid morning, and I needed to spend an overnight at the airport hotel (Holiday Inn) they picked me up and dropped me at the hotel at my requested time highly recommend this tour.
Mauricio picked us up from Santiago airport and gave us an amazing insight of Santiago as only a local can do. He catered the tour to our preferences and made what would have been a looong 8hrs at an airport lounge into a fun visit to an amazing city. We felt more like we had a friend showing us their city than a paid guide. He was perfection in getting us back to the airport without any stress in making our flight. Highly recommend booking this trip if you have time
I had a wonderful layover tour with Fernando. We spent the day visiting Santiago's neighborhoods, learning about the nation's history and past and current politics which was of great interest to me. Fernando was a very accommodating guide and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a seamless tour to and from the airport!
From the very beginning of booking this tour Ignacio (the Viator contact) was in regular communication with me. Mauricio was our tour guide. He met us at the Santiago airport and was flexible in the tour start time as we were coming from a Viking cruise and were not sure what time we would be dropped off at the airport. We were about 45 minutes later than we had planned on. I was in constant contact with Mauricio so he knew our situation. Mauricio greeted us with a huge smile and very pleasant demeanor. Lovely, patient, kind man. We didn’t really know what we wanted to see so he was going to show us what he thought would be the highlights. As we were driving we mentioned we would like to visit a place where we could see local handicrafts. Mauricio took us to the perfect village with dozens of small shops filled with handmade local handicrafts. We were thrilled. Beautiful place with beautiful items. We drove through the newer part of the city, then went to the old section and walked to see the architecture. We then drove to the Fort and took fabulous pictures of the city. A lovely green space in the middle of the city. We drove to see the Presidents palace, the Court house, government buildings and the architecture was amazing!! It is a beautiful city and very clean. We were a little worried about getting back to the airport late so we ended the tour a bit early. Mauricio drove us to the airport and came in with us to help with our luggage and to check us in to Air Canada. I highly recommend this tour and if have Mauricio as your guide you won’t be disappointed.
I had a 12 hour stop over in Santiago and wanted to use my time well to see the city highlights. Pablo collected me from the airport exactly when and where described. He then took me around the city, showing me beautiful parks, historical buildings and stunning architecture. He also explained some of the rich history of the area. I was dropped off back at the airport with plenty of time to check back into my next flight. This was a seamless and interesting tour, a great little taste of Santiago and a nice way to stretch my legs in the sunshine between several long flights.
Mauricio was a great tour guide, asking me questions so he could understand what I wanted to do and took me to as much places. Also he was very entertaining to be with as was very knowlegeable and funny.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a 12-hour layover in Santiago and decided to make the most of it by booking a day tour with City Trekking Guide—and I’m so glad I did! This turned out to be one of the best tours I’ve ever experienced. Fernando was an outstanding guide—friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and hidden gems of Santiago. He tailored the experience perfectly to fit the timeframe and made sure I saw all the highlights without feeling rushed. Whether you’re just passing through or staying longer, I highly recommend booking a tour with Fernando. It was the perfect way to connect with the city and make the most of my visit!
We were picked up right on time at the airport by Fernando, who was incredibly friendly and made us feel like we were spending the day with a local friend. We strolled through parks, learned about the city’s history, and soaked up the everyday vibe of Santiago. Something you just can't get from a guidebook and without a local. One of our favorite moments was stopping to try a delicious Chilean empanada with a local beer in "Barrio Bellavista" - simple, authentic, and so good. Way better than sitting around the airport. Highly recommended!
Excellent tour of downtown Santiago. Our guide, besides being very friendly and entertaining, is a true connoisseur of the history of this beautiful city. I highly recommend it.
The communication with Ignacio leading up to the stopover tour was good and I was met on time at the airport. The tour lasted over six hours and was a really enjoyable experience. Most of the time was spent walking around the city centre enjoying the street vibe, murals, historic buildings and parks etc. Ignacio filled me in on key national historical events. We had a nice meal where I enjoyed some local dishes. Our tour ran into the early evening and we saw some entertaining buskers.
This was a relaxing and great way to visit a city for the first time. Fortunately I had plenty of time with a 9 hour stopover. I spent over six hours with Ignacio and we drove through several parts of Santiago, then walked around the CBD seeing the old historic buildings, lovely park areas and street vibe. We also stopped twice for a relaxed meal/drink. It was a weekday but a public holiday so busy in the parks. I would have liked to have gone up the vernicular to the statute of Mary but it was too busy.
Ignacio took us throughout his city to show us many of the best sites. He met us at the airport where he took us in his personal car to see the parks, walk many of the city neighborhoods and even took the subway. He is very knowledgeable about his city and it's history. It was a wonderful way to spend a long layover in Santiago. We also took time for an empanada and a locally made beer in a sidewalk restaurant.
Ignacio was an amazing guide! He took my parents and I around Santiago on a personalized tour and was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. He was so calm ano go with the flow. He took us to a great coffee spot and sat down with us when I desperately needed a refresh, and answered 1000 questions that my dad asked him. He gave us choices in where we went, and was super entertaining and informational. He communicated with me before our trip via WhatsApp, and shared photos he took of our day within minutes of our departure. It was so awesome to land in Santiago and see him as we excited customs. We had an extra stop at the airport to ensure we had seats on our next flight, and helped us through that process. It was so great to know we had someone willing to take us and our luggage around for our 9 hour layover. I'm so glad we were able to have this experience and passport stamp! I will definitely be a repeat customer. 5+ star service.
This is a great tour if you have a few hours layover in Santiago.. just to see a lot of nice places and tried a hotdog sandwich with avocado, tomato and mayo.,, highly recommend, was waiting for me as soon as I exited the airport and dropped me off the exact time I requested
We did a city tour of Santiago de Chile during our long layover at the airport and we couldn't have had a better guide. Nacho is a delight! Super approachable, friendly, and with enormous knowledge of the city. He kept telling us a lot of stories and curiosities that made the tour even more special and, in addition, he let us try typical Chilean food. It is very noticeable that he enjoys showing his city and that is transmitted. Exceptional service from start to finish. Without a doubt, we would repeat. 🇨🇱❤️
The city tour that Ignacio offers through the city of Santiago is incredible. Recommended if you want to see and learn about the city in a comfortable and personal way. The guide is very good and adjusts very well to the time you have, especially if you have another activity scheduled or an airport layover. Also, you can try some typical Chilean foods with him! 👌🏼
Ordered it for my mom, she thought it was good. Great to be able to transfer from the airport:).
Tour fantástico!!! Congratulations to our guide Pablo... The tour was great, we could get to know the historic center, the history of Santiago, but we tried the "complete", a hot dog typical of there... I recommend it to everyone, especially for those who are in transit at the airport for more than 8 hours. It was a great option to spend time and get to know the city.
