Leo picked us up from the hotel and took us to some nice parts of Santiago while explaining how the city was founded and how it is divided into different areas nowadays. Cable car was great, would definitely recommend this your. We also did a coastal tour with Leo on nother day which was perfect. Very reliable and honest. Relaxed days that we enjoyed very much. Thank you!

Home to La Moneda Palace, Chile's presidential seat, Plaza de la Ciudadanía is one of Santiago's most important civic spaces. Beneath the square lies the Centro Cultural La Moneda, a renowned cultural venue featuring rotating exhibitions that highlight Chilean and international art, history, and design, offering a deeper perspective on the country's contemporary identity.
One of Santiago's most elegant civic buildings, the Palace of the Courts of Justice has housed Chile's highest judicial institutions since the early 20th century. Its imposing neoclassical architecture reflects the country's institutional heritage and remains a prominent landmark in the historic center.
Santiago's historic main square and the city's founding site, surrounded by landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Municipality of Santiago. Today, Plaza de Armas remains a vibrant gathering place where Chile's colonial heritage and contemporary city life converge.
Located on Plaza de Armas, the Metropolitan Cathedral is one of Santiago's most significant landmarks. Its elegant neoclassical architecture and richly decorated interior offer insight into Chile's religious traditions and colonial heritage.
Barrio Italia is an older residential neighborhood known for its restored houses and interior courtyards. These spaces now host small design shops, local cafes, and artisan workshops. It is also an area where traditional antique restorers still work on the streets. We will stop here for about 30 minutes to walk around and explore the area, always accompanied by our guide.
Barrio Lastarria is a historic neighborhood in downtown Santiago with European-style architecture, cobblestone streets, and cultural spaces. The area has cafes, small art galleries, and street markets with books or crafts. Our guide will walk with you for about 30 minutes to show you the neighborhood's highlights.
One of Santiago's most elegant neighborhoods, Vitacura is known for its tree-lined avenues, contemporary architecture, acclaimed restaurants, art galleries, and beautifully maintained green spaces.

An elegant neighborhood where leafy streets, local cafés, and contemporary city life come together to showcase Santiago’s modern character.
Cerro San Cristóbal is a prominent hill located inside the Metropolitan Park. On this tour, you will take a cable car (teleférico) ride to the top, which offers panoramic views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. At the summit, you can see the Virgin Mary statue, walk through the gardens, and visit the different lookout points. Very good and informative. Alwyn was our tour guide and was absolutely brilliant. Really helpful and gave us the history and his local knowledge. We would recommend this tour
We had a fantastic day touring Santiago with our guide, Claudio. Claudio was friendly and personable and obviously very knowledgable regarding the history of Santiago, Chile and Latin America. We visited some very interesting sites that most visitors would want to see. Claudio also took us to some more discreet locations he felt we would like and we had a wonderful time during the entire tour. If you book this tour, hopefully you get Claudio as your guide.
Our guide, Claudio did an amazing job showing us the sites and providing information regarding the history of Santiago and Chile. His English language skills are excellent. It's evident that Claudio is passionate about sharing his knowledge. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Claudio.
Our tour guide, Leo was great! He showed us all over Santiago. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared history as well as current events. His driving was safe. Everything was great.
Claudio was an extraordinary guide! From the beginning he picked up on my interests and geared the tour to them. He was extremely knowledgeable about history, culture, politics, geography and clouds!it was clear he was “local” and everywhere we went locals greeted him with enthusiasm and warmth. I can’t recommend him highly enough!
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience on the Private Santiago City Tour with Cable Car operated by Chile Vive Tours. The tour provided a great introduction to Santiago, combining the city's history, culture, and beautiful viewpoints, including the memorable cable car ride with stunning views of the city and the Andes. Our guide, Luis, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly friendly, sharing fascinating insights about Santiago while making the tour engaging and enjoyable for both of us. He was patient with our questions and made sure the pace was comfortable throughout the day. What truly stood out was the excellent service beyond the tour itself. Luis and the team were also very helpful in arranging our airport drop-off, which made our travel experience much smoother and stress-free. That extra level of care was greatly appreciated. Traveling as a mother and daughter, we felt well taken care of from start to finish. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Santiago, and if you have the opportunity, ask for Luis. He helped make our visit to Chile a truly memorable one. Thank you, Luis, for a fantastic day!
Our guide, Juan, was fantastic at sharing with us the history of his wonderful city, Santiago. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Juan. Our time was cut short by a down pour with lots of hail, otherwise, it was a great tour!
Great guide. Flexible and showed us the very best of santiago. Had young kids so was able to adjust and still give e everything promised. Great tour
Leonardo was amazing ! Very friendly and knowledgeable money well spent
I think it was ok, I think maybe pricey for what you get, but you get a good layout of the city, so if you do this first it gets put toghether very nicely.
Today we did the half day Santiago city tour with Cable Car ride at San Cristobal with guide Julio. What an amazing tour with Julio treating us like family, his personal knowledge of local & Chilean history & geography, architecture & statistics. The tour was well paced allowing us plenty of time to take in thr sights. The Cable Car ride up San Cristobel to view the city and the statue of the Virgin Mary. Interesting facts and highlights about the modern upmarket areas of Las Condes and Bellavista. And of the Cerro Santa Lucia Hill. Well explained facts of the city's history, the Govt buildings & the Presedential Palace. The beautiful Cathedral and highlights of the Plaza de Armas. Julio was a constant source of knowledge and clearly enjoys his job. Ask for him you will not be disappointed. Thoroughly recommend this tour
Our tour of Santiago was outstanding. Our guide, Julio, was so knowledgeable on all aspects of Santiago and its history. He made our experience so special and we came away with a greater appreciation of this wonderful city. You couldn’t go wrong with this tour and Julio.
Our guide Julio picked us up on time. He was friendly and provided history and information about each site. We enjoyed the tour very much.
This was interesting from a historical point of view. The sights in Santiago are not that dramatic. The cable car trip was nice. Salvadore did a very nice job with the tour providing historical videos to illustrate the most important events. We enjoyed our time with him.
We messaged Chile Vive tours last minute the morning of our tour requesting a tour for later that afternoon, and they were able to organize the tour including airport pickup and drop off within a few minutes of our message. Juan was an incredible guide, thorougly knowledgeable about Chile, South America and other parts of the world, and was great with adapting the tour to our needs, including taking us to Patio Bellavista and treating us to mote con huesillo at the top of Parque Metropolitano. Huge thanks to the team and Juan for memorable experiences
We were shown various areas of town. Walked in a lovely park. Took the gondola up and spent time at the top. Walked around the main square. Our tour leader Leo was excellent at explaining things and giving us lots of information all day. We loved that!
Jose was an exceptional guide who quickly tailored our time to best meet our needs. Because we had seen some of the things the day before, we were able to maximize our immersion into Santiago by seeing some additional neighborhoods, parks, and experiences. Very professional and extremely well done!
This is our first trip to Santiago and we loved learning so much about this incredibly clean, modern, friendly and historic city. Our tour guide Leo was great. He has plethora of knowledge about Santiago and Chile. He took us to all improtant stops and provided a lot of time to explore the place and take pictures.
Alessandro was a wonderful guide. Our family of 6 had never been to Santiago before and we can hardly wait to return for another her tour with Alessandro. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the city and country. He was flexible with our timing as our flight’s arrival was delayed and he speaks English very well! 10 stars if possible!
My first time in Santiago and this tour is awesome. The excellent tour guide Alessandro was very knowledge and made the day very interesting. His knowledge of the sites was Amazing. Highly recommend this tour
Enjoyed seeing highlights in city and park and mountains in Santiago area. Received interesting historical background
My father and I had a great city tour after being picked up at the port in San Antonio. There was some confusion about pick up when the tour was booked but the operator, Chile Vive, worked it out very well with us through phone and WhatsApp. We had a driver, Juan, and a guide, Marko, who were both enthusiastic and also accommodating to my dad’s mobility issues. When we got out of the van to walk to sights, Marko stayed with us giving us information and assistance while Juan either parked or drove to the best place to pick us up. We enjoyed seeing so much of the city before being dropped off at the airport.
Our 1 1/2 day tour of Santiago City and of the country side were excellent. During the 1/2 day City tour, our guide and driver Julio took us to all the main buildings and sights: the Cathedral, the old Parliament, the Post Office, Cerro Santa Lucia, Bellavista , and many more. The next day, Julio drove us north of Santiago to the fascinating and welcoming Quintessence Alpaca farm. On the way back to Santiago, we enjoyed a fantastic view of the Andes and of the Aconcagua, After lunch in the Fish Market , we had a further tour of Santiago and the day ended up with a visit to a winery. During these two days, our guide Julio was always extremely pleasant, smiling and most helpful , providing us with clear explanations and suggestions as needed. As for the organisation from France of these tours, and during the tours, we had much cooperation , and always positive and timely responses and proposals from Claudia. Overall an exciting and excellent experience ...
Our host Julio was fantastic! He showed us all of the highlights of Santiago. He was knowledgeable about Chilean history, culture, and traditions. The tour was a combination of driving and walking through picturesque and historical sites. I highly recommend this tour!
Julio was a fantastic guide and driver - polite and professional and fluent in English. He shared his passion for Santiago in a fun and entertaining way !
From the start of the tour til the end of the tour everything was superb! Christian our tour guy was excellent, knowledgeable & funny. He made the trip exciting. The group was also a lot of fun. Luis the bus driver got us there safe. I love the way he made sure that we were safe & that the bus was kept clean (which is very important to me). I recommend this tour 1000%
my wife and i did the tour of Santiago. It was just the two of us, our guide and a driver. We walked a lot and that was a great way to see the sites. The driver would move us to the next location where we would get out and tour some more. It was really well organized. Our guide was knowledgeable and knew the history of the area and Chile. We always start a holiday in a new region with a tour and this one was excellent.
Julio was a pleasure: informative, fun, well organized. Enjoyed the morning city tour so much, everyone in the group stayed on for the winery in the afternoon. He took good care of us.
Julio took us on a 5 hour tour, that was probably the best tour we have been on in our travels around the world. His background as a translator and his depth of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects covering Chilean history, culture and customs was superb. You could immediately tell how much he loved his job. He was a valuable source of knowledge to advise us on other attractions worth seeing in the city that are not covered by this tour specifically. Part of the tour involved some waking in the downtown area where streets are closed to traffic. Having a knee problem he saw this was a challenge. To minimize the discomfort we would leave us at pick locations and went to retrieve the car and meet us!! Very few guides will do this and make the effort! I would give this tour six stars if I could! If you want to understand the city and how it functions this is the only type to take! Thanks so much for the great memories!
It was a wo der full private Walking Tour of the city. Customised to my wishes. Camille was a wonderfull guide (in English). Ii will recommend it to others.
Edison was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We saw all of the important highlights of the city. It was a great experience.
We were stuck in Santiago when our cruise was cancelled. We did this tour to fill up a day before a flight back to the UK. It was very good. We saw a lot of the city and heard a lot about the history and the current challenges in Chile. Jaime the tour guide was very knowledgeable and the driver managed to pick us up very quickly at key points.
This tour was great! The tour leader was Jaime and the driver Francisco were very helpful and led a great tour. Jaime provided excellent information about Santiago while keeping his own personal opinions about politics to a minimum. Jaime also provided additional information for other area tours, info on how to get around town during the protests, and info on other activities since the museums are closed on Mondays.
This was a great way to see the main sights and also learn about the culture and history of Santiago. I would recommend it for family and friends
A great tour and good value for money. Jamie and Eduardo were brilliant. The mini bus drop off and pick up while we walked around various points of interest was slick and very efficient - no waiting. Only down side was what appears to be the obligatory stop at the jewellery shop but no real pressure from the owners to purchase so a minor inconvenience. Would certainly recommend to any first time visitors to Santiago.
Our excellent guide Francesco took us on an interesting and informative 5 hour tour of Santiago City. While the cities beauty has been effected by the riots and civil unrest, there remains enough undamaged colonial architecture to visualise what the city looked like in its prime. There are 4 stops on the tour; Santa Lucia Park, Plaza de Armas, de las Aves Lagoon, and a lookout above the city. It was a hot day and we were appreciative of the airconditioned car and the cold bottle of water supplied by Francesco. Francesco also gave us some tips on what to do with the remainder of our time and the best places to eat near our hotel. All in all, the trip was very good value for money and we will recommend this tour to our friends. Well done VivoChile!
The tour was advertised as 4-5 hours however we were collected from our hotel at 08:30 and were returned back there after 3.5 hours. We were surprised that the second stop on the tour was at a precious stone/jewellery store where we were required to browse for a while when we would rather have seen more sights of Santiago. Having said this, the remainder of the tour was interesting but we felt rather short changed.
Nice tour. Just the two of us. Nice that it operated with only two. Pity that the tour included a visit to a jewelry shop and the associated pressure to buy. We prefer not to have such visits as our aim is to see the sights and not shop. Maria was informative but sadly was not well that day but battled on. The driver was excellent. Tour was advertised at 5 hours but ended after 4. This was ok as there was only the two of us so we got plenty of information and attention.
Love small tour with Maria. Although I agree with other reviewers that there isn't a huge amount to see, we have paid less for lengthier tours elsewhere so I am not convinced that the tour was great value for money. We got picked up at 8am and by the time we had picked up others we started the tour at about 08.45. We stopped for lunch at about 1215 and were returned to our hotel for 1330. This did not feel like a FULL day. Having said that Maria and the driver Francisco we knowledgeable and engaging.
Very interesting and informative tour. Had a really knowledgable guide on Maria, who was great fun and very good. Very much recommend this tour if you have 5 hours
Great guide had a lovely day saw lots of things with very good information- he spoke very good English and was very kind to me - thank you
First of all price was $133 for 2 not $100. Taken many viatours and frankly this was not worth the price. Guide and driver were fine but you are driven to places you can do easily on your own for far less. Maybe at $25 pp it would be ok. Disappointing.
Excellent tour. Not too long or short. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.
I had such a great time on this tour! It was well worth the investment. The tour guide and driver, Juan and Jaime were lovely to talk to and very informative- I learnt so much!! Highly recommend and will repeat with guests!
This tour is perfect to get an overview of the most interesting places and history in a smal group - I was especially lucky as I was the only guest this day. Excellent guide (Francisco).Full recommendation and thanks for the great time.
Jaime gave us a custom tour of Santiago since we had already walked around the central business district for a day and visited the two most important churches by ourselves. He is a great font of facts and insights about the city and the country's history. My husband can't walk long distances at a time so Jaime broke the tour up to accommodate him. I can highly recommend Jaime and his associates.
Great tour Felt informed when I was being picked up, amazing sharing of current and historical information about this interesting city. Jaime is a great host, he fed us a lot of context about the city, Chile's economy, and the historical context of not only Santiago but the whole of Chile. If you have any special requests, Jaime, and his accomplished driver Rodrigo, will try and help you achieve them. Conclusion - expectations exceeded. Mucho gracias Senor.
Francisco is passionate and his country. He picked on our interest of history and geopolitics and wove that into our tour. We learned, had great discussions and he is a wonderful host and ambassador of Santiago and Chile. He cares!
Jaime was an excellent tour guide, providing an interesting mix of history and culture as well as the main sites. We were driven around in a comfortable air conditioning mini bus and mixed this with several walking stints. I can recommend highly this group. Jaime and the vehicle turned up well on time and returned us to our hotel at the end. Very reliable.
