JP was a fantastic guide. He told us a lot of great history, and it was a very well valued tasting for the money

Perfect combination of history and wine. Thanks JP.
We booked this tour because a totally different wine tour the previous day in another location had disappointed us. I’m so pleased we booked this one! Trying 7 Chilean wines with food pairings for three of them was a perfect way to end our trip to Santiago! The grounds are beautiful (you can explore the gardens before or after your tour) and our tour guide, JP, was so knowledgeable and friendly! We were given a welcome drink (rose) before proceeding on the tour where we had 3 wines whilst learning about the winemaking process and founding family. We then went to a separate tasting room with the group where tried three more wines with the food pairings. I really appreciate when the tour guides also try the wines with you to guide you through the process!
Massive winery founded in 1856 located on the outskirts of Santiago. We partook large sampling portions of 5 of their wine variety, while viewing their ancient and modern processing and bottling facility. On our trips around the world, we have visited several wineries as Yvonne always enjoys sampling the fruit of each country. Tom on the other hand can only enjoy the fruit of the vine or tree if it is SWEET (cannot handle that DRY stuff).
Great historical vineyard and excellent wine tasting. Guide was very informative and answered everyone’s questions.
We have been on lots of wine tours and tastings. Paulina was one of the very best vineyard guides we have had! She was engaging and had lots of solid knowledge. Also, great wine!!
Sitting in the foothills of the Andes, Cousino Macul is in a beautiful location. Its easy to get to from Santiago, a short Uber journey away. No restaurant on site, but there are several just around the corner if you want to eat before or after. I had a lunch at Amigos del Mar which served a very acceptable lunch The vineyard is small but very pretty, the tour was easy to do & the information provided very detailed. As I had booked the premium tour I got to try some wines paired with different foods after the main tour. This was well worth doing. After the tour I walked through the vineyard down to the lake, if you have the time you must do, the backdrop of the mountains is stunning and very peaceful & quite. No problem getting an Uber back to the city, a must do trip if you enjoy your wine & want a break from the city.
I have been to Chile for work many times before and had never visited one of the local wineries. Today, traveling with a group of colleagues in the country for the first time, I finally made it. Cousino Macul is beautiful and honestly the best was the guide (Paulina), who was engaging, easy to understand (we did the English tour) and lovely. Not only she explained the wines and the history of the winery, but she spoke with each person from the group, asked where they were from, offered to take pictures, asked for their impressions on each wine. Really she's a gem and we had a great time.
It was a very nice trip to Cousiño Macul winery. Daniela, our house’s guide, is a very nice and kind person. The tour is very interesting in their historical and technical aspects. We loved it.
Amazing experience! The place is really nice, the wines are great and our guide, Mei, was awesome! She definitely made our experience much more enjoyable and fun. I went alone, but in the end the entire group was chatting and laughing like old friends.
Fantastic tour of over a century old winery. Premium tour included seven wines tasting, some of the reserve, which were very good. I could not have wished for a better guide than Beatriz: she was super knowledgeable (she knows much more than the information given on the tour so you know she's not just simply repeating something she learnt, she completely understands wine and knows her subject well), and her fun and energetic personality made the tour very enjoyable. I hope you get her when you visit! Price point of wine tasted is between 7,000-22,000. The Andes in the backdrop adds to the charm of the place and it is so easily accessible from downtown Santiago. You can't miss it!
So awesome! Paola did an amazing job translating for us! The grounds are beautiful and the bicycle option is fun. We also really enjoyed the wine pairing! Everyone was so nice and accommodating for our lack of Spanish speaking skills! We had limited time in Santiago so this was a great option if you can’t get out to the countryside!
I turned up on a rainy day and Bea kindly offered me an english tour as the next available was in spanish. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the family & vineyard and super easy to talk to. Would highly recommend the delicious wines & Bea as a tour guide!
Due to our timing we ended up taking a Spanish speaking tour, we don’t speak Spanish; the guide made sure we understood enough to thoroughly enjoy this experience. 7 generations of history so well preserved, the huge wine barrels and cellars are incredible, the tour offered so much more then we expected. The wines we tasted were delicious, we even got to try a carmanere grape wine.
Highly recommended - skip the organized wine tours which take you around the Maipo valley. Instead, just take a cab to Vina Cousino Macul (cost us USD8 each way from providencia) and join one of their tours. Valentina was very engaged, helpful and knowledgeable. We have done wine tours in margaret river before, but this one beat them hands down in terms of the variety of wines tasted, details on tasting notes, guidance on food pairings etc.
A really wonderful morning which we highly recommended. Cousino Macul is an easy Uber journey from the centre of Santiago and a very beautiful place to visit with wonderful views of the mountains and the city. Our guide Tiago was excellent and it was fascinating to hear the story of this historic vineyard. Great too to taste the wines and identify how the taste changes when eaten with different foods. Everything was done to the highest standard
Well organised! As a start of knowing Chile wine as it is one of the oldest winery in Chile. Nice to hear the story of the winery. Not difficult to go by public transport. Our guide Valentina is kind, helpful, and professional.
Lovely winery and delicious wines - had it as part of our tour of Santiago. The tour guide spoke wonderful English and was very thorough. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed sampling all their wines. We have been to many wineries in the US, Argentina and France and this is up there with them.
Our visit to Cousiño Macul was beyond excellent. We had originally opted for the traditional tour but changed to the premium once there, and were very glad we did (see below). The traditional tour was with a wonderful guide (Janice) who knew everything about the winery and its long history and was happy to spend quite a bit of extra time talking about Chilean food and traditions. We were lucky to be in a small group (3) so there was plenty of time to talk! Once the traditional tour was over, my wife and I were in for the great treat of tasting 3 of Cousiño Macul's premium wines: two from their "Finis Terrae" line (the first was an incredible white wine made from a blend of Chardonnay, Riesling and Viogner, the other a striking red blend), the third bottle was from their a collection simply called "W" an amazing Cabernet Sauvignon. What made this part of the tour so rewarding was our "guide" through the tasting, Frederico (I'm sorry of I got the name wrong, it might have been Federico). Frederico knew everything there was to know about the wines, the grapes, labor and love that had gone into making them. he helped us puzzle our way through the rich tastes of these wines intelligently and with a subtle sense of humor and pride in Chile's wines that left a deep impression on us. As a trained sommelier and aspiring oenologist, we could not have asked for a better guide. Thank you to Janice, Frederico and Cousiño Macul for one of the most memorable experiences during our one-month stay in Santiago. On the practical side, if you are visiting in February go for the early tour (10am) before the afternoon heat sets in!
Great wine tour at one of the oldest vineyards in Chile and the only one still within the Santiago city limits. The English speaking tour guide Janice was really incredible at teaching the history of the family and the winery and teaching about tasting notes in the premium tasting experience. If you like wine definitely do the premium tour instead of the regular tour, you get three extra wines that are higher tier and snacks to pair along with them. Janice helped us see what tasting notes we could find in each wine and how wines changed depending on what food you paired them with. The first three wines on the tour were okay, but the last three in the premium experience were great and not ones you can find in the supermarket in Santiago. Definitely a good tour for a “classic” Chilean vineyard
This was an AMAZING tour!! The best wine tour we have been on. The new information was quite interesting and Janice was an amazing guide. I highly recommend!
Awesome winery tour in Santiago. We were able to uber to the winery from our hotel without a problem (40min away). We selected Spanish while booking, but at the time of tour were able to join a English group which worked out great as that is our native language. Neat history and awesome winery to check out if visiting Santiago!
Our guide Isabella was excelent, she was very simpatic and showed us all about wine production. We tested four diferent kinds of wine, we visited grapevine by cycle.
Our guide, Valentina, was very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the vineyard and it's history which highly enriched our experience. Very good communication in English. She was also always able to answer extra questions during the tour. We got to taste 5 different wines during the tour plus four more during the degustation part which Valentina also guided very well. All in all I high recommend and trust it is worth the investment.
This was an interesting tour where I was able to sample various wines. As part of the premium package there was the opportunity contrast and compare two younger and older vintages (one red and one white), and also how they were complemented by various foods. I really enjoyed the tour and the sampling. All the staff/guides were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and spoke English. If back in Chile would probably re-visit.
This was a wonderful tour and great experience! I accidentally booked the Spanish tour but it was not an issue. I was easily put in the English group. Francisco was a great guide and very charming. We tasted some amazing wines! I recommend getting the premium package. We tasted @7-8 wines! We arrived/left via Uber. Definitely worth the price!
I have loved the explanations about Cousino Macul and Isidora, the widow of The founder Who has, in fact, made what Coucino Macul is nowadays. I congratulate The guide Valentina for the passion she demonstrates on each explanation. Me and my family had a great time!
Amazing winery tour! You will learn the interesting history of the vineyard, tour the grounds, including the magical wine cellars underground, and sample so many of the incredible wines. It ends with a wine pairings tasting. The winery is easily accessible by public transportation. A beautiful experience while in Santiago!
My Spanish is just “okay” but I really enjoyed this wine tour with my friend. The wine was delicious, the tour was informative and our tour guide, Francisca, did a great job explaining the history of the winery and the wines themselves. I recommend this tour :)
We absolutely loved the tour and our guide was simply amazing 🤩 it was a beautiful day, the Premium package is definitely the way to go, the wines are very reasonable and like I said our guide was amazing he made the tour so enjoyable
Great experience! We arrived late to the tour and Elisa the responsible for the vinery coordination, took us to a kids tour ! This is a real customer experience ! It was Taylor made for our kids ! Great vine and amazing staff !
Vino cousiño macul wine tour was one of the best tours we have ever done. Valentina, who spoke very good English, was very helpful and precise in explaining everything about the winery. It is comforting to have a guide who is knowledgeable about the winery. Also, the wine was excellent. Thank you to Janice who helped us with our reservation. Finally, thank you to the two guards at the gate who gave us water after our one hour walk to the winery. If you are in Santiago, it is a must. It is a first class operation! Take the premium tour, it's worth every penny.
The staff were very accomodating for our bike tour of the winery. We booked the Spanish tour even though we speak terrible Spanish, the staff recognised that (because we sound like a 4 year old in Espanol maybe even worse) and organised a private English tour for us… absolutely amazed. Great history to appreciate here and excellent wines to sample. Thoroughly recommend as you don’t need to leave Santiago to attend!
Vina Cousino Macul is a beautiful facility with lots of history and a few hidden surprises. This tour ended up being the highlight of my trip. The wine is excellent and my tour guide, Valentina, was very knowledgeable and provided great context for everything I was seeing and tasting. Strongly recommend.
Fantastic private wine tasting and tour with Cynthia (who speaks absolutely excellent English) organised at short notice after we arrived - insightful, knowledgeable, fun. Great activity and learning in Santiago - definitely worthwhile.
The quality of the tour was excelent. Amazing value. Beautiful property. Our tour guide Cynthia was very knowledgable about the family history and vineyard. I am going to read about Isidora. Thank you!
This is the perfect wine tour of you don't want to spend loads of money and time doing a tour from Santiago. You can easily get there by public transport. Jasmine our tour guide was brilliant. Wine is also great!
This tour exceeded our expectations. This old winery is a fascinating site and the wines are world class. The tour was made even better by our guide Valentina. She is passionate about wine and knows the history and operations of the winery extremely well.
Pia was amazing!! Loved the tour and all the history and information!! So much fun and very interesting!
Wonderful experience for wine lovers. Good explanation about production and Cousiño Family history. Easy to get there.
We had a great time during our bike tour with our guide Cintia. She was very, very friendly, gave us a lot of information, we experienced good wines, had a great time without any rush or tight schedule to follow. It was informative without being boring, and we learnt good new things about wines and the history of the family Cousino Macul. If you are looking for something out of the mainstream Cousino Macul, give Cousino Macul a try.
Our tour guide, Cynthia was amazing! She was kind, funny and loved our questions. The wine tasting was delicious as well. Was grateful there was an English tour offered
Francisco was super knowledgeable and friendly. By far my fav wine tour in Chile. I recommend the premium private tour.
This was a wonderful afternoon in Santiago. We were met by Amaro who was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Francisco led our journey. He is both a sommelier and a certified eco-tourism guide so he taught us a lot about the wines and also the environment and history. He is very detailed and dedicated and conducted the tour in English and Spanish. We learned about the history of the winery and the business of the Cousiño and Goyenechea families. The Cousiño family is still involved with the business today, and it’s the third largest winery in Chile. There were tastings in each part of the tour and we ended back in the courtyard after a final tasting and pairing of very special vintages. In the courtyard, we met Bowie. He is the gorgeous resident cat who was very affectionate and happy to have more visitors! This was an amazing time - highly recommended!
Undoubtedly one of my best vineyard tours ever. I have made many similar tours over the years at UK, France, Mexico and even in India, but this was special. Though the tour was supposed to be in Spanish, our tour guide Leonardo quickly realised that i was the lone brave foreigner making it to chile during the pandemic and made every effort to go out of his way to translate his best, and i understood most of it. The history and heritage of this 160 years old place (3rd oldest vineyard in chile) is amazing! And i did learn quite a few new tips around wine tasting and wine making. Thanks Leonardo! :)
The bike tour around the vineyard, the subsequent tour through the facilities, and the wine tasting together makes for a one-of-kind experience. If you're going to go on a tour here, this one is simply amazing. If you're lucky, Rafael will be your guide. He really made the whole the perfect. His passion and love for the wine, the vineyard, and nature made my experience truly unforgettable.
I really loved the tour. Veryy informative and interesting. Our tour guide Diego was the best, nicest and most helpful. He was very knowledgeable and helped us appreciate wine culture
Muy bonito lugar. El guía debe profundizar mas en detalles del vino pero fue muy amable
Very pleasant experience, our guide José was really very good, the tour was very interesting. As a recommendation, you should come with a good breakfast or lunch since the wine is only served with accompaniments at the last tasting. Highly recommended.
Very good. Water is missing at the tastings.
