The whole day was absolutely beyond any expectations we could have had. Starting off with meeting a local artist with homemade breakfast, every winery we visited, everything in between, the small boutique hotel with all the beautiful animals. Every moment of this trip was nothing short of magical. Shoutout to Gerald for being an amazing guide through the day. Honestly would highly recommend. Phenomenal day.

This is a highlight of our trip to Chile. We were picked up from our accommodation and were eating breakfast (with wine!) less than an hour later. Gerard and Felipe speak fluent English and are both super knowledgeable about the area and wine. They were great company and made this tour very personalised ensuring that we enjoyed every minute. There was no rushing or clock watching everything was relaxed and at our pace. The authentic, local food we had for breakfast and lunch was delicious and plentiful. The wines chosen for us were high quality and we got to take home what we didn’t drink during the day. The trip was great value for money and we highly recommend it.
The whole experience was amazing. No language barrier for my wife and I as Gerald and Felipe both speak English and Spanish. They communicated the day before with clear instructions on pickup location. They arrived on time and had wine ready for us to enjoy. The breakfast and lunch provided was excellent. Home cooked meals that were both restaurant quality and very delicious. The four wineries we visited were all beautiful locations and elegant. The wines we sampled were all fantastic. Felipe and Gerald were very knowledgeable with the Maipo Valley area and the wines itself. We were not rushed at all. My wife and I pretty much had a personal tour and it was perfect. They dropped off us off at our hotel in the early evening and gave us a box of all the wine we sampled that day. Highly recommended!
This was top five best wine tours I have ever taken. This was a full day wine tour. We were picked up in a comfortable bus and taken into the Maipu Valley. We started with a lovely breakfast at an artist's compound. This was a good starter because we not only filled our bellies, but we also got to know the other guests before we began drinking. After that, we went to multiple wineries. We sampled 14 different wines!! Lunch was also fantastic. We ate in another artist compound and were served fresh farm to table food. Again, this was great to soak up the first half of the days' wine. The best winery was the last one for sure. And finally, our guide, Gerald, was great. Just fantastic! He really enjoys his work as evidenced by his enthusiasm throughout the tour.
As a group of people with little to no knowledge of wine it was hands down the best tour of any kind I have been on. Carolina is an absolute gem. She kept things interesting and gave us an incredibly fun education on the wines and culture of the region. Could not recommend more. 5 stars is not enough. It was a pleasure to spend the day with our new friend , the mayor of wine
The Little Wine Bus Tour in Maipo Valley is a delightful, down-to-earth wine adventure rather than a polished wine-estate showcase. It’s perfect for: • Travelers who want to relax and enjoy wine rather than analyze it. • People who appreciate local color — art, countryside settings, family-run wineries. • Those who want a social, communal experience where wine, food, scenery, and conversation are all part of the appeal. If you prioritize very formal wine education or tasting structure (like structured sommelier-led tastings), you might prefer a different tour. But if you’re up for a full-day wine-fueled exploration with heart, character, and plenty of memorable moments — this is one of the most charming ways to experience Maipo Valley.
Definitely spend the money to travel with these 2 gents,!.... amazing day in Maipo. Beautiful wines and so interesting
We had a wonderful tour with Felipe and Gerald, very knowledgeable and sooooo nice. The car was excellent, we didn’t have a single wine we disliked and for the most part loved the wines, the wineries were smaller and we had personalized attention, no waiting and learned a lot. Beautiful wineries, amazing scenery! The two meals, breakfast and dinner, were excellent, home made by the artist (who showed us her beautiful artwork we were able to buy) and by the family with the huge backyard with roosters and peacocks! We have been to Napa but this was a much more personalized experience with better wines! Highest recommendation
Absolutely fantastic tour with Felipe and Gerald. Communication in advance of the tour was faultless, and the tour itself was amazing. The breakfast and lunch hosts were so warm and welcoming, the wine tastings (which were plentiful and numerous) were catered to our tastes, and the company with Gerald and Felipe was outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend!
We love a wine tour on holiday, and this one will stand out as one of our favourites. Our guides Pilar and Filipo met us at the hotel in a very comfortable SUV and immediately offered us our first glass of wine as we drove to breakfast! We knew we were set for a great day! Breakfast was at the home of a lovely local artist who fed us a great spread, but also showed us her work and introduced us to her ex husband and his bakery at the edge of their property. We then went to two very different wineries with excellent briefings on the wine and the Chilean wine industry. Then lunch at another local home- a beautiful farm with peacocks wandering around as we ate. 2 more wineries and then returned tired and happy to our hotel. Pilar was extremely knowledgeable but also made the whole day so interesting. Many discussions about Chilean history, politics, the economics of the wine industry… for people who like wine but aren’t experts this was exactly right for us. No pressure to buy at any stage. But good advice when we did. Like all Chileans we met, they were grateful for us visiting Chile and went out of their way to make us enjoy our time and their culture. They were also really curious about our lives, so it felt like a lovely day with friends rather than a tour we’d paid for. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Best wine tour we have ever been on! My husband and I, along with a friend booked this tour and it was amazing! Felipe and Gerald were fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly! The food organised for the day was delicious and local! AMAZING all round! Highly recommend!
One of the best wine tours we have done! We were so lucky to have Gerald as our guide. He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable about wine and really great at communication. It’s obvious that he loves what he does. Started off the day with a lovely breakfast in the garden of a local artist which was so interesting. Then on to several wineries and a delicious lunch of local foods in another private garden. We especially appreciated that Gerald really took the time to find out what types of wine we wanted to try and then made sure that we were able to experience that. It was truly a fabulous day!
We had a wonderful day wine tasting with Christian (our tour guide) and Felipe (the driver and an owner of the company). We chose this tour specifically because we were looking for more wine tasting and were not interested in extensive tours of wineries and vineyards. We visited four wineries. Christian told us about each winery and we had one glass of wine at three of the wineries and a flight of three wines at one winery. We started the day at the charming house of a local artist, who prepared breakfast for us. It felt really special to be sharing food in someone’s home rather than at a restaurant. She showed us her art and her husband’s panadería, operated out of a small building on the property. Lunch felt similarly special as we visited another home. The family there runs a B&B in the back and we had an excellent meal prepared by the matriarch. It included asparagus soup, lasagna, and preserved fruit from their property. The real highlight of the day was Christian, our guide, who was a wealth of knowledge about Chile and Chilean culture. He wears many hats: video game storyteller, sommelier, winery tour guide (at a winery in addition to this tour). He has also worked making wine and has an extensive interest and knowledge of Chilean history. I felt that we learned so much, not only about Chilean wine and winemaking, but also about the history and culture of Chile. If we are lucky enough to come back to Chile, we will definitely reserve another tour with Maipo Valley Wine Tours!
We spent the day with the most amazing guide, Christian. He was incredibly knowledgeable and everything was precisely coordinated by Felipe ahead of the day. Brunch was lovely and every meal accommodated my gluten issues with no problem! I liked that this was much more of a cultural tour than others we have had, from the home cooked meals to the types of winery tours led by Christian. It was one of our top tours of our ten days in Santiago!!!
WOW WOW WOW! I had the absolute best time on this tour! Felipe is a wonderful host and such a kind person. My tour guide was Christian and he is the best. Both of them made the wine experience. Absolutely fantastic for me and my coworker. We enjoyed delicious food, wine, conversation. I highly recommend this tour to anyone in the Santiago area to get a fabulous overview of the culture, the landscape, the people and the wine five stars!
Carolina was a wonderful tour guide. She has an extensive background in wine making and was able to share her knowledge and expertise in a fun way. We enjoyed her company very much. It was a fantastic tour of multiple wineries whom she knew personally. We highly recommend this tour with Carolina!
Felipe and Cristian were terrific hosts and very knowledgeable about the vineyards and wineries in Maipo Valley. We tasted some extraordinary wines and had an unforgettable lunch at Santa Ema. Truly a remarkable day!
The driver Felipe and the guide Christian are excellent. Friendly and full of information on the area and the wines. We began with a visit to the art studio of Constanza Mayo. Galeria La Espina del Arte. We had breakfast under the large tree in the yard and chatted away about Chile, art, Maipo, and so much more. We then toured her husband's bakery (yum! we had bread from the bakery for breakfast!), and then her studio of wire sculpture. Next came wineries and one that also presses some of the best olive oil in the world! We loved all of the wineries, but Santa Ema stood out, where we also had lunch. The chef there is amazing and the food with wine was wonderful. We learned all about Carmenere grapes and how Chile unknowingly aided the grape to survive! It was a wonderful day that ended in taking a few bottles away! Thank you Felipe and Christian! This company has a number of wine tours including tours by bike and horseback! Great company to travel with!
The tour guide, Carolina was fantastic, and so much fun! She was very informative and just lovely! I definitely recommend this tour to those wanting to learn more about Chile, and for a fun day out!
We had a wonderful time with Christian. He was incredible guide, very knowledgeable and clearly enjoys his work. Everything went smoothly and we were able to taste at least six wines if not more. We were introduced to wines we would never have experience without this trip. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful day spent wine tasting with Carolina! We ended up with a private tour where we started with an amazing breakfast (ancient grain bread from the in house bakery, jams, eggs) along with wine of course! Then we started our visits which included 4 wineries as well as a delicious lunch, in an amazing setting no less. The wines were all great examples of different types of wines from the area (including Carmenier of course.) The day ended at the most beautiful winery, set atop a hill looking over the vineyards. I have to say this one of the best wine tasting days I have had. Special thanks to Carolina who was so knowledgeable, knew everyone in Maipo, and had fun and interesting stories to share. It felt like a great day of tasting wine with our friend who offered to drive us around. This is a great experience and one not to miss!
My wife and I took this tour in December 2022 on our first day in Chile after arriving via an overnight flight. It was a nice introduction to the country. Communication via text was smooth beforehand. The breakfast and lunch, both hosted at the homes of locals, were a great touch. Christian was a capable guide loaded with information, not just about wine but about the area and its history. Very enjoyable day. One word of warning: This tour does not feature wine tastings per se. Rather, you show up at each of the four vineyards with a single, pre-purchased bottle of wine (or a bottle that your guide purchases in the moment) that you can enjoy on premises. Given the description, I had expected tastings at each vineyard. Instead of being served a variety of pours in a tasting room by someone who works at the vineyard, you drive up to various producers and open a bottle. That could be good or bad depending on your preferences. We also ended up being the only two people on the day's tour, which made for an intimate experience but also meant we were in the back of a sedan rather than the "little wine bus" in the description. Again, could be good or bad depending on your perspective. Overall we had fun. Christian shows you a great time and there are worse ways to spend a day in Santiago. But if you're looking for traditional wine tastings where you really get a sense of each vineyard, this might not be for you.
Thought this was as a group tour but ended up just the bride and I. Not a complaint- just a pleasant surprise.
We've been wine tasting all over the world, and this was one of our favorite experiences. It was intimate and unique and we felt like we really got to see and taste authentic Chilean wines. Christian was an amazing, fun guide, and we felt like we left with a new friend. We would do it again if we could. =)
This wine tour was a perfect mix of tasting, ambiance, education and sheer fun!! It truly delivers a full understanding of the wines of Chile without a "tourist" vibe. Beginning with a delightful breakfast and wine, traditional empanadas and wine, a lunch of fresh caught fish and wine, and wine and sherbert!! All in the backyard of the locals! This was weaved into visits of wineries where we learned even more about the process. Carolina was our guide - from Chile - but speaks English as well as we do coming from the states. Since our Spanish is limited this was extremely important. But moreover, Carolina knows her wine and much about Chile in general! We came away with an incredible understanding of the area as well as wine!! The best investment we made as part of our visit to Chile was connecting with this tour and Carolina. Many thanks!!
I have done wine tours all over the world but this is our favorite! Christian is the best tour guide!

This is a great way to explore the wines and the culture of Isla de Maipo. Felipe and our guide, Carolina were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The tour itself was brilliant, from the moment Carolina picked us up from our hotel, to the drop off at the end of the day. We loved the opportunity to be welcomed into the homes of some wonderful local people, and to get to know them over home-cooked breakfast or lunch, or one of the many glasses of wine we were offered throughout the day. We can heartily recommend this tour, as a unique experience.
Amazing, Christian was a fantastic tour guide. The small group size allowed the tour to be very personal. Everyone was super knowledgeable and passionate about wine, while also teaching about Chile's rich history. This is a MUST for a wine lover.
I wholeheartedly recommend this unique experience with Maipo Valley Wine Tours. Carolina, was my guide and she graciously guided us around the Maipo Valley region. I took this tour as a solo participant and met a lovely couple along with Carolina. From the moment I was picked up at my hotel, I felt at ease with the friendliness Carolina extended. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and every stop we took was wonderful. Highlights for me were the breakfast and wine at an artists private home, our visit to Granja Fantastica - where Giancarlo served us wine fresh out of the barrel and taught us about the winemaking process, and then our private lunch at Casaquinta Peumayen, where we were able to explore the grounds and see the wildlife. In addition, we visited more traditional and beautiful wineries. Truly had the best day and would do it all over again the next time I visit!
This was such a fun, unique tour!! The breakfast and lunch were delicious. The wine was delicious. Carolina was a wealth of knowledge and so delightful. Really couldn’t have asked for a better day!
This is not your typical wine tour, it is so much more! We had a group of 12 and upon arriving at our first stop...a very talented local artist's home where we had breakfast in her garden, we knew it was going to be a great day. Our guide, Cristian, quickly became our friend and was so incredibly knowledgeable and a joy to listen to...about wine, yes, but also about Chile and its current events and climate. Felipe, Constanza and Cristian...thank you for this once in a lifetime experience to see a different part of Chile and for your kindness, education...and wine!
Absolutely a brilliant tour. Carolina was a wealth of knowledge and it was basically a private tour. Fabulous and a must do when in Santiago!
I've been on many wine tourists throughout the world. This was by far the most personable and modestly priced. Our guide spoke fluent English and had excellent relationships with all of the places we visited. I'm very happy with this experience. Definitely recommend!
We had a great time on our tour of wineries in the Maipo Valley. Cristian and Roxanna, our guide and driver, were very helpful and did a great job explaining the things we were seeing and giving additional context. We got some great meals and lots of delicious wine, and learned a lot about the process of wine production when we visited a farmer who makes wine in his barn. They picked us up exactly on time at our hotel in Santiago and were even able to drop us off at the airport after for a flight in the evening which saved us a lot of hassle. I'd definitely recommend this tour if you have a day in Santiago and want to eat, drink, and talk about wine and food.
Fantastic wine tour. All 12 of us had an incredible time - would recommend to anyone! Cristian is a fantastic guide and every stop was incredible
Filipe and his crew presented an authentic Chilean experience. The artist Castanza prepared a delicious breakfast at her restored colonial home, where we settled in to get to know each other and learn more about Chile. The visit to Juan Carlos’s winery was most informative from barrel tasting to learning about agricultural regulation, and sampling his latest, small batch wine, available only at his farm. Lunch from locally sourced ingredients at Angelina’s homestead was delicious and offered another opportunity to visit with local Chileans. Christian’s deep knowledge of wine and excellent command of English stimulated conversation and enhanced our understanding of Chile. Filipe did an excellent job of curating this tour and hauling us around. Wine was plentiful throughout the tour and all of it was delicious. This unique cultural experience was great fun. We left feeling that we have friends in Isla Maipo. Thank you all for a wonderful day.
We we were a group of four Canadian ladies and took a chance on this tour. Well, we could not have been more pleased with our fabulous day of fun, wine, food and laughter! Christian & Helen were are guides for our group of 12 mixed ages, genders and nationalities. The one thing we had in common was that we were going to have a great day! We went to four wineries: we were served a light brunch with wine at a artisans house; next we went to a winery to learn about the region and the soil, grapes and history and enjoyed wine; next we went to a small farmhouse and was served a wonderful tasty lunch outside under trees with more wine; finally we went to a large vineyard where we relaxed outside and enjoyed different types of wine. If you like to have fun and enjoy lots of wine .... then this is the tour for you! Thanks for the wonderful memories! Noella Ontario, Canada
We took this tour on March 16, 2020, things were really beginning to change due to COVID-19. The tour was modified due to some wineries closing or not accepting visitors, but that made no difference...the tour was GREAT! It was a small group of 7 and Christian our guide was just great. His knowledge of wine and Chile was extraordinary. The food was excellent, breakfast with a great local artist, lunch at a beautiful B & B style location and of course all the great wines. We would absolutely take this tour again. It was our last full day in Chile and with a bit of world chaos around us, it made our last day there perfect. We hope that Christian and all the people who made our tour so nice are healthy and doing well.
Fantastic experience, got a chance to visit the wineries, was fed at local homes and given a lovely welcome. Was given wine throughout the whole experience, at breakfast, on the bus, in the wineries, at the homes...was great. Was lovely to meet the others on the tour, had such a laugh. Felipe was awesome but a special thanks to Christian who was a great tour guide and had everyone laughing their heads off and getting involved in the fun. This is a must do, though i would suggest doing this tour after you have done a traditional vineyard tour not before otherwise you will be wondering where all the wine is on the traditional tours! haha.
This was by far the highlight of my holiday, was so much fun! Christian and Felipe were fantastic, the wine was flowing all day...even at breakfast! The local homes we visited were so welcoming and interesting to see and we got to visit the wineries too! The whole tour was so relaxed and everyone had a fantastic time! A must do for anyone travelling to Santiago and who likes wine!
Fabulous day meeting new & fun people from around the world. Our guide, Christian, was phenomenal! He made us feel welcomed in his country and shared his vast knowledge and appreciation of wine. The day was filled with fun, laughter & lots of wine! We visited 4 wineries, an Artisan’s house for brunch & a Chilean country home for an authentic Chilean lunch. Do not hesitate to book this tour.
We had so much fun on this trip! The guides were lovely as was our group. The meals are at locals houses which was a nice touch. We definitely got our money’s worth in wine :)
My wife and I visited Chile for our first time which also happened to be our honeymoon, and we knew we had to have at least 1 day set aside for the wine. This tour was very unique, and an all around amazing experience. It truly let you feel like a local, and really truly enjoy many different, excellent wines in social settings. We both had a terrific time, and would definitely recommend to fellow travelers and wine fans.
We were very pleased with this wine tour to the Maipo Valley. Filipe and Belen gave us a private tour (tomorrow they will have 30 participants)— we were grateful for this consideration. We sampled a wine from four wineries and also experienced local culture—visiting an artist and her gallery and having a homemade speciality for lunch in a grove! Great day!
This was such a great experience! It really felt like we got to experience the culture of Chile while visiting the art gallery and going to smaller vineyards. Cristian was an amazing and very knowledgeable guide! Would do this tour every time we come back to Chile! Plus all the wines were top notch!
What a great way to visit the beautiful countryside of the Isle of Maipo. Our sommelier, Christian, was very knowledgeable leading us on a very relaxing day of learning about the wines in Chile and bonding with our new friends. We had a nice breakfast at the home of a local artist, visited a winery, enjoyed a Chilean lunch at the home of a local resident, and met with a winemaker and enjoyed his wine while relaxing on the terrace. I would highly recommend this relaxing, fun tour to everyone. It’s the only way to experience a wine tour!
If you are only about the wine, this tour is not for you. But if you enjoy excellent conversation, true Chilean food, experiencing Chilean culture, as well as learning about Chilean wines, then I highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide Christian was knowledgeable about all things Chilean, and definitely knew his wines. He was enthusiastic and was excellent in bringing our small group together. We stopped first for a delightful breakfast at the house of an artist. There, we enjoyed breakfast wine. Who knew? Then we traveled to a couple of small vineyards in Maipo Valley and enjoyed and learned about the unique qualities of Chilean wines as we sampled. A wonderful picnic lunch followed in an idyllic farmyard setting. A kind of Garden of Eden with bushes and trees laden with fruit, free range chickens, etc,, with the Andes Mountains in the background. After visiting a couple more wineries, we headed home. My husband and I left knowing much more than we started about Chile—the wines, foods, way of life, people. It was an unforgettable experience.
Very fun small group wine tour, during which everyone actually gets to drink wine as opposed to just sample tastings. Learned about wine making in Chile, but also about current social & political topics the Chileans are living through. Breakfast and lunch were done very well, on relaxed private properties. Totally non-presumptuous!
I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was very good, and I really enjoyed the stops at the artist house for breakfast, and the small batch winery we visited at the end of the tour. Good small group trip, lots of wine, and good food as well. Not really a traditional wine tour where you really explore the vineyards and wine making process (although there is some of that), but I liked this better. I also liked that we went to a couple of small, as well as medium sized wineries, and not the mass production facilities. Felt more authentic. I knock this tour down a star, because the contact phone number for the tour company did not work when I called to confirm, and had to contact Viator to get them to contact the company on my behalf. However, I am not sure that it was necessary to call and confirm as they left information for me at my hotel (but after I called Viator). Once they get the phone number fixed, five stars....
