Great day with our guide Viktor & driver Fabian! We stopped at a winery first (In Situ) and ha tasting of white & red wine. Very good! The we headed to a farm at the base of the Caracoles highway to see llamas & other farm animals. Then it was up the many switchbacks to the Portillo ski resort for lunch. The view over the Inka Lagoon was amazing! Totally made the trip!

Alejandro the driver was the best. He handled that van up and down those mountain roads like the pro he is. Victor (our guide) was funny, energetic and full of useful information. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Beautiful scenery and highly educational
Good trip. Guide worked well with us. Spoke good English.
Our guide victor was excellent he made the journey enjoyable. The Andes was an amazing experience, beautiful scenery with snow topped mountains and blue lagoon. The wine tasting was a visit to one winery, tasting 2 wines so if you are looking for something more extensive then this is not the tour. However we throughly enjoyed it.
Victor was a very informative, humorous and extensive knowledge of the area and history. Very patient and also Claudio was an excellent driver. We were able to see a condor, wild guanacos on our trip.
This is an absolutely fabulous experience. We had Victor as our guide. He provided us with very good historical and present day information. He also has quite the dry wit!! Enjoyed his subtle sarcasm. Claudio as our driver, has nerves of steel! If you are a person who gets car sick this trip may not be for you because we go on the Los Caracoles highway. It is the most incredible experience being on all those switchbacks with what feels like endless Semis, Yes the view up at the ski resort is spectacular and the drive in the valley is also scenic. The thrill however, comes on that Los Caracoles highway. We do get numerous stops along the way, including at the In Situ winery which is in a gorgeous setting. Getting to see the llamas and other animals on the farm after coming down from the mountain is a nice way to finish off the day. Absolutely do not hesitate to take this tour if you can handle windy, narrow roads, and higher elevations.

It was a fabulous day, the scenery was spectacular!! Victor was an amazing guide, so informative and fun! Claudia was an incredible driver, getting us through the trafffic and around all the switchbacks!! A definite ‘must do’ when in Santiago!!
This trip was breathtaking! Alvaro was a fantastic guide! We were picked up on time at our hotel. Our first stop was In Situ winery. Next we drove up the very steep switchback of Route 60 to the Portillo ski area. The views were breathtaking of Inca Lagoon. Alvaro was a very knowledgeable about the area and engaging the whole trip. I would highly recommend taking any of his tours!
AMAZING! No words, the landscape is breathtaking and the full experience is extremely lovely, you feel like you are in heaven. Alvaro is an incredible tour guide, is kind, very knowledgeable and we can say fun Haha! It’s worth every penny🫶🏽
Excellent day! Would highly recommend to see a bit more of beautiful Chile.
An amazing day from start to finish. We enjoyed every moment of the excursion as the driver, Alejandro was superb and the guide was great fun as well as being very informative. The wine-tasting was lovely and we enjoyed lunch at Portillo after the incredible experience of seeing the lagoon. We cannot recommend highly enough.
Very smooth communication and pick up from hotel. Comfy bus and expert driver (Alejandro). Friendly and knowledgeable guide (Alvaro). Wine tasting and picnic with llamas was great. Loved the road trip in to the Andes on the 19 turns highway. The Inca Lake was incredible, as there was snow and it created an optical illusion. Enjoyed Pisco Sour with a wonderful view. Fantastic day 5*
It’s really a great experience and worth visiting from Santiago. Snow capped Andes are mind blowing. Our guide Mr. Alvaro is an exceptional guy and very enthusiastic explaining the activity. He took us to a very nice local restaurant for lunch, helped us choosing our food. Highly recommend this 5 star company without any hesitation.
This trip was amazing from the beginning to the end! The wine tasting, views of the Andes and the llama stop were all so wonderful. Being up in the Andes was a surreal feeling, and I am so happy I booked this tour. The llamas were really fun too, they were so tame and gentle, especially the baby ones. Our guide, Alvaro, was excellent! He made the whole trip really comfortable and fun, sharing his knowledge of the route, the various stops and Chile with us. He was also very patient, allowing us ample time for photos and lunch. This is an all day trip so ensure you plan accordingly. The snow by the Inca Lagoon was a bit slippery so ensure you have good, durable shoes. 10/10 all around 👌
Beautiful place and the tour guide and the driver are very nice persons
The experience was amazing, the bus was clean and comfortable, the guide and driver did an amazing job! It exceeded our expectations :)
Our tour was cancelled due to unfavourable road conditions. The tour operator offered us an alternative trip to Valle Nevado. We had a lot of fun and loved that we could experience snow during our holiday in Santiago. We were lucky to be the only two attendees and our driver/guide made us feel like VIP. Kudos to Victor Fuentes that we had such a great time. Victor even played BTS songs for me all the trip after I said that I’m ARMY! Thank you so very much.
Alvaro is a wonderful guide and the entire experience was worth every penny.
It’s was overall a great experience
Alvaro served as an excellent guide during our trip to the Inca Lagoon and Portillo. The driver was highly experienced, and the stops we made along the way helped us acclimate to the altitude.
An unforgettable experience! Alvaro was a great guide and I’m so glad we got to experience the Andes up close.
The Andes are an incredible landscape. Our driver Philippe and guide Alvarez made it a great all round day!
Wonderful day trip from Santiago up to the beautiful Inca lagoon, with breathtaking views, entertaining and informed commentary from our Guide Alvaro, and enjoyable stops at a winery and llama farm. Well worth the time.
Excellent tour led by Álvaro - communication about the pick-up was excellent and I really enjoyed the relaxed pace of the tour, the highlight of which was the Inca Lake in its pristine beauty. Highly recommend!
This was such a nice excursion. The guide was very friendly, spoke Spanish, Portuguese and English very well. He answered all the questions and provided very interesting information all way long - not only about our destinations but also about Chile in general. The bus was not crowded, so it was a comfortable ride. The wine tasting was organized in a very scenic spot. I wish it was a bit longer tho, because a wine tasting at 9:30am for 40mins doesn't allow you to drink a lot of wine hahah and we had leftovers from both bottles that we just left there... It was nice meeting the llamas, but it's a very short stop on the way. The road itself is very interesting.
It was how write in information Very comfortable and beautiful Interesting to be first in shuttle - you could have excursion to Santiago
Andes did not disappoint. Trip was quicker than advertised, may have been due to it being a Sunday and then as advertised the vineyard is closed. Pick up later than organised.
Álvaro, our tour guide was awesome and very polite and funny at the same time. He did an excellent job and also the driver was excellent.
We saw so much in one day on our tour with Álvaro. We visited a stunning winery with a Mountain View, went to a llama farm, and visited the Portillo ski resort. Portillo had stunning views of the Andes, the Inca lake, and a cozy bar. Álvaro was very knowledgeable and helpful. I definitely recommend!
The tour was amazing! Alvaro was very good throughout the whole tour, explaining everything in English, Portuguese and Spanish. It was a lovely experience!
This tour was wonderful. Alvaro was the best tour guide!!!! His English was FLUENT and kept the tour fun and interesting. The Driver Alejandro also has excellent driving skills. The snow park was unexpected that turned out awesome!!! There are many activities at the park for all ages that were also so fun !!!
This was such an amazing experience! Alvaro was incredible and so knowledgeable about everything! Definitely one of the greatest experiences!
Amazing trip! Llamas, good wine, and spectacular views at Laguna del Inca—all in one day. Our guide was super funny and kept everyone's spirits high throughout. Highly recommend!
Amazing tour to a place with views like no other! Tour guide was knowledgeable, and fun! Driver was very professional safe. Transportation van was comfortable. Vineyard was amazing, exclusive wine found only in Chile, best tour for the $. Make sure to bring sunglasses/sunblock and a warm coat. Ski resort is beautiful and fairly priced.
A truly enjoyable wine-tasting trip to Laguna Inca in the Andes! Our guide was fantastic — knowledgeable, warm, and well-organized. In just a short time we also got a wonderful introduction to part of Chile's history, which made the experience feel much richer than a typical tasting tour. The wines were excellent: the reds had great taste, the whites were the real highlight — fresh, aromatic, and full of mountain character. The snow-capped mountain part of the trip was especially cozy and scenic; the road wound through beautiful landscapes of lakes, peaks, and grasslands, with picture-perfect views the whole way. My fellow travelers were friendly and very experienced travelers themselves, which made the group atmosphere easy and fun. And the animals were adorable — the alpacas in particular were incredibly gentle and sweet-tempered, happy to pose for photos without any fuss. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, scenery, and good wine. I'd happily do it again and have already recommended it to friends. 🍷🏔️🦙 性价比高,可以闭眼冲,i人e人都友好,酒蒙子必备。导游是大帅哥。 truly hope you consider selling them online with international shipping
Great trip, great wine, very professional and knowledgeable tour guide! Good day trip with many stops and experiences, professional and safe driver with very nice van. Beautiful views online anywhere I've ever seen, you must experience this tour, words cannot describe.
A great experience in the Andes mountains! Barbara was a wonderful guide who kept us on time, had lots of history and info to share about the places we saw, and was a lovely person. The lagoon was gorgeous, and easily worth the drive. We saw several herds of guanacos alongside the road, and the views of the mountains and valleys were truly stunning.
We are 9 in a "PRIVATE GROUP" as mentioned on the Web but were joined by 6 different people if my count is right. We were told by our guide Alvaro that this was the first trip since they just opened the road. Telling us we needed to start early coz portions of the road will be closed. We started our activity with a wine tasting at around past 9 AM, which is unusual for us since we have done a lot of tours and this is the first time that we had Wine tasting early in the morning. Going up on the mountains on a crawling traffic is also unusual ( We knew of course that this was the opening day. (We would have drove straight to Inca Lagoon to beat traffic.) When we reached the parking area which was jampacked with cars. Alvaro told us that we need to walk to the the Hotel. On the way up to the hotel (some travelers on our group are Senior People which have difficulty fast walking. Some were left behind while younger ones manage to follow him to the Hotel. Upon reaching the Hotel we were told we could not get in and only guests are allowed. But, after a couple of discussion we were let in but only to be served food at the BAR. (Water is more expensive than Pizza) When we were allowed to go in some of our group are lost and could not find us since also the doorman at the Hotel would not allow them to get in and not until Alvaro went down to personally let them in. On the way back from the Hotel while were driving away from the Mountains the Vans AC broke so it was a Humid uncomfortable ride. My Point: when you say Private it should be between parties who knew each other and if thats not the case just mention the clear fact that its 'VAN" ride. Please make sure that the Guide Alvaro keep an eye at the first person on the walking Tour and especially the last Person of the Group. Walk on their Pace. I would recommend this tour if it wouldn't be the issues we experienced. The Place was amazing and its worth the Travel.
Simply an incredible day tour with Viator and there was so much to see and experience! This was an amazing way to visit the Andes Mountains with breathtaking views on the way to the legendary ski resort Portillo. Family owned winery offered excellent wine and serenity on the way and also an authentic experience of village life. We found it a great way to visit Portillo with an excellent private driver since the Los Caracoles (famous serpentine road in Chile) is so challenging. Our knowledgeable tour guide was attentive, kind and friendly, almost as we had met before.
Lovely experience up in the Andes. We were the only English speaking on the small group tour and feel all information was not translated since we were in the minority. We did not get the information that there was a free shuttle that would take us to the different locations once dropped off at the mountain ski lift/gondala. We spent the whole day up in the mountain but would have enjoyed the other sites to visit too if we had known. Otherwise, an early morning but a must do! Beautiful! My son had a blast playing in the snow. We sat at the ski lodge and had lunch/wine. Enjoyed the day but just felt like it could have been better if we knew about the other stops….poor communication.
I enjoyed the tour to got the mountain. Really thankful that Diego is our tour guide and driver. He is knowledgeable, humorous, gentle and the coolest guide I've met. He is really dedicated with his job and good at lifting up the mood for others.
Amazing experience, a must for those who want to leave the city for a day and see amazing natural sights. Alvaro was a great guide.
Amazing tour! We missed our connection and they gladly lived our tour back by one day. Amazing guide too!
great trip, I would recommend it to everyone. the guide Pablo and driver Alejando were excellent.
This was a great day trip into the Andes. The tour guide and driver were friendly and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about Chilean culture and History. Would recommend!
I was in Chile for a quick work trip and was so glad that I was able to tuck in the excursion! Our Guide Alvaro was so friendly, knowledgeable and caring of the group. He made sure I didn’t slip on the snow near the lagoon and that I knew which llamas to avoid. The llamas were a riot keep your cameras close for that part. Lastly, I appreciate him taking pics for me as I was a solo traveler! Everything was so pretty 🤩. Shout out to our driver who got us to and from l safely.
A wonderful tip through the foothills onto the Andes mountains. The tour guide and driver were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and recommend the salmon (over the burger) at the ski resort. A very nice trip.
Highly recommend this tour to immerse yourself in Chilean nature. Driving through The Andes was a beautiful experience and the lagoon's emerald waters are simply gorgeous. Our guide Alvaro is one cool dude who kept us well informed, entertained and took some amazing pictures!
The tour was conducted in a very friendly and professional manner. Our guide, Alvaro, and the driver both did a terrific job. We enjoyed the various stops along the way: In Situ winery, the llamas, picture taking opportunities, and finally the Inca Lake (Lagoon) at Portillo. Disappointments: the restaurant at Portillo where we had lunch was not very good, and the stop there is really limited to taking pictures and selfies of Inca Lake. There is a standard beautiful photo of Inca Lake online, in the various brochures and elsewhere, and when you get there, it looks just like that. Then you take the same picture yourself, have a mediocre lunch, and are driven back to your hotel. I had hoped for more of an “Andes” experience, but this was not quite it. There are other day trips listed on TripAdvisor that seem more appealing in this regard, but this one is for people who don’t want to overexert themselves. Still, a very pleasant day was had.
