I was the only one booked on to this tour but an alternative option was made available to go to a winery and the oldest Ski Centre in South America. I was delighted as it was still the Andes. The driver and guide were excellent. Delighted with the day.

This experience was lovely. They were on time to pick me up from my hotel. The pre-tour communication was excellent. Alvaro was an excellent guide and Alenjandro was an excellent driver. I enjoyed the tour.
good experience but I feel the cost is more for transport than tour guide or the view. Not much snow on the top of the mountain and it is just a 30min walk around the dam. Then the chocolate house was more a stop for ice cream and 3min photo for the building. Coming back around 3pm annd don’t understand why it needs a full day.
Two nights before we got a second confirmation. The next day we were flying to Santiago. At 830am they sent an email that they didn’t have enough for the trip but had an alternate trip. We got off the plane at noon and I replied yes. Then at 5pm I was told that i had responded too late and they had canceled us and refunded the tour. We were left with nothing!! And all trips were booked. Terrible customer service!
This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life! The tour guide was an expert, got us to multiple stops all within the timeframe, and made sure we had plenty of food, water, and bathroom breaks. There were others in my group that were nice. The beauty of the lagoon is truly stunning, and they pick you up right outside your hotel which is nice in foreign country. I would 100% do this again, thank you again for the experience!
It was exhilarating to go on the Los Libertados highway with all its hairpin bends! Seeing the majestic Andes Mountains up close was one-of-a-kind experience.
This was a nice small group tour with a good guide. We enjoyed it. A great way to get out of the city for a day and see more of the region.
(Inca Lagoon tour). Hector was our guide and he was highly knowledgeable and entertaining. Alejandro was our driver. Whole day was very organized, informative, well paced and enjoyable. Highly recommend. Viator does a fantastic job tracking, communicating, confirming and managing payments. We booked 8 tours between Chile and Argentina and did not have a single bad experience wrt organization.
Great day exploring the Maipo valley. Beautiful, majestic mountains on display under incredibly blue, sunny skies. Lots to see along the way in the little townships and villages to give you a glimpse of everyday life along the river from horse back trail riding to river rafting. Great photo opportunities at every turn. Alvaro was a wonderful, laidback tour guide, pointing out various interesting landmarks and Mauricio, the driver was very skillful on the narrow valley roads. A wonderful day and an amazing tour of the Andes mountain range. A must see!
Amazing day!!! Alvaro, our guide, was stellar - informative, funny, kind and went out of his way to ensure we had an incredible tour. The scenery through the Andes and at the 'cajon' was absolutely breathtaking!! Mauricio, our driver, safely got us to the beach at the end of the 'cajon' and home! Not a small feat on the narrow mountain roads!! Many, many thanks for an unforgettable day!
Excellent day with Alvaro as guide and Mauritzio as driver. On-time pick up at hotel as per the message the night before. Then one more stop to pick 2 more people and we were off with a group of 6 for the day. Beautiful scenery along the way with stunning views of the mountains. Up and up and up till we finally reached the reservoir. It was even more beautiful than the pictures on the website. Alvaro stopped many times for pictures and whenever he spotted something interesting. Great explanations along the way. And our driver navigated narrow roads and switchbacks effortlessly. Great snacks and wine at end of tour. Would highly recommend this!
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Not to miss opportunity. In addition to the beautiful sites, a lot of fun and education was added to the trip. Mateo was a skilled driver, which is critical for this journey! Alvaro was an ideal guide-helpful, respectful, knowledgeable and entertaining!
Benjamin was a fantastic tour guide. So helpful and educational and fun. Alejandro was an excellent driver on several scary mountain roads. The scenery was beautiful and the trip was totally worthwhile!! Highly recommended
Alvaro and Gregorio were both lovely and very knowledgeable. They looked after us well and we had a great day with them. Thank you!
We enjoyed the trip. The stop at the dam was magnificent. We also like the chocolate store. We tried the ice cream. Our guide, Alvaro, is wonderful and very informative. Highly recommend!
Alvaro and Greg were both great. We had a fantastic time — learned a lot, great experiences, and lots of good food. See you next time.
Great guide and Driver Alvero was personable, knowledgeable , spoke perfect English. The reserve is gorgeous. Spectacular views.
Great tour guide and driver, beautiful views and great ice cream shop/chocolate shop. The restrooms stops could have been better. The picnic is now not in front of the mountains but at a stop where the restrooms are. Over all a great tour.
Had a fun day! Los caracoles was really cool to see and the Inca lagoon was stunning. The vineyard we visited was also lovely, but would have liked to see more of it (it was just a tasting).
Benjamin our guide was outstanding. He did a great job giving us the best experience possible. Even though there were two languages being spoke in our group we were able to come together for a memorable culture enriching day.
Glacier was so pretty! Worth the long drive there. Guide and driver were great! This was a last minute booking and I’m glad I did it.
We were a large group lot 10 ranging from ages 22-58 and of different activity level capacity. Our driver was Gregorio (whom we affectionately, and mistakenly, called Geronimo the WHOLE trip and he never corrected us) was on time for our Hotel pickup. The van was air conditioned and comfortable. Alvaro was the perfect guide. He was professional, knowledgeable, and fun. Your first stop will be at the place to rent winter clothing (ski pants, jackets, hats, gloves and boots). They will charge you an additional $5 if you use your credit card but they do take American dollars. They tried to convince us “that it will be three times colder up the mountain.” Honestly if you dress appropriately, with layers, and shoes that can get muddy you will be fine. It indeed was NOT three times colder. The drive up the mountain was intimidating but our driver navigated safely. Your next stop will be to make a bathroom break. It is 50 cent each to use the bathroom. We also paid in American change. Upon arriving to our destination, the bus stopped and we walked around one kilometer to see the AMAZING views! The scenery for this trip was well worth the price! Our driver made plenty of stops for us to take breathtaking photos. I will suggest for you to eat breakfast and take snacks because we didn’t actually eat our first thing until after 2pm at the chocolate house. I was mislead in thinking this was included in the tour but it is not. You simply get a (single) free tasting and then you purchase chocolates, coffee, hot chocolate or ice cream independently. They will also provide you with a receipt to use the restroom for free. While waiting for our turn to enter the chocolate house, it was nice to sit outside on the unique benches and observe the beautiful flowers. For our next stop we returned back to the original place where you rent winter clothing and were served the picnic consisting of: Doritos, lays chips, two different kinds of wine, juice, salami, cheese, crackers and a cream cheese, soy sauce and flax seed mixture. The latter was an unusual combination but honestly was pleasantly tasty. On the way back to town, our last stop was at a small town to eat empanadas from a food truck. We are Hispanic so the empanadas were large but not impressive taste wise for us. Overall 10/10 for the views don’t expect much for food.
Better than expected trip, highly recommend. Pickup from my hotel was on time. Benjamin (guide) and driver Angelo were so personable and kind. Benjamin was very knowledgeable and informative and explained in detail with excellent English commentary throughout the trip. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, highlight being Cajón del Maipo which was surreal with unbelievable beauty. The chocolate house, wine picnic and empanada tasting was the icing on the cake. Amazing and wonderful day.
I enjoyed the tour experience and had a great time. Alvaro is a great guide and always making sure that we had a great time. The length of the tour was just nice and the itinerary was also good.
The trip was amaizing, we went to a great place with beautiful views. The people was very kind and full of hospitality. Alvaro was amaizing on guiding and taking care of us and Gregorio was a funny person and excellent driver. Thank you so much for a trip of a lifetime!
This was a great day trip from Santiago. The food, drink and stops were all very worthwhile and each was accompanied by witty and interesting commentary from our fantastic guide Alvaro
Amazing experience. Our tour guide, Alvaro, was great. He did everything to accommodate us. The views are expectacular. Please take hiking shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.
Awesome tour and great tour guide, Alvaro, and his driver. It exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to make us feel special. The only thing I would tell everyone is to take hiking boots or some sort of boots that will help them not get their shoes dirty. If not, you can rent shoes, coats, gloves, etc. at the beginning of the tour. But the tour is well worth it. The views are amazing.
We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful view and experience I absolutely recommend adding to your bucket list! Gregorio & Alvaro where great tour guides who kept us company throughout the way making sure we were having a good time :) The view is something to really take in. Completely blew me away!
The tour was great and the views were amazing. Our tour guide Alvaro was very knowledgeable and very friendly. The driver Geronimo (Gregorio) was also very friendly. We really enjoyed our tour, had a lot of fun, and highly recommend it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful tour and a wonderful way to see a snippet of the Andes in a day! This day long tour was a fantastic adventure. We were picked up at our hotel in Santiago early in the morning (7:30) and made our way toward the Andes. There are a few stops on the way up and down, but the highlight of the trip is seeing the reservoir. It’s a small hike (basically a long walk up a slight incline) to view the reservoir, and absolutely worth it. Our guide, Alvaro has so much knowledge about the area and provided wonderful facts and details. He’s also very friendly, great to interact with, and open to questions throughout the tour. Our driver, Gregorio, navigated the twisty turns and slightly bumpy roads with ease and we felt very safe in his van. Before returning to Santiago, there’s a stop of empanadas at a local truck. We’ve had many empanadas since arriving in Chile, and these were easily the best!
This was an amazing adventure. I can’t say enough good words about the gentlemen whom guided us. Hector had an incredible amount of knowledge to share. I felt very welcome. From wine to mountains and everything in between. I highly recommend this adventure.
This excursion was canceled due to road closures from snow and mudslides. We wish we could have gone to the Andes mountains and it was our last full day in Chile so we didn't get the opportunity, which was disappointing.
Benjamin and Carlos were fantastic guides! It was nice to chat along the way about Chile and its history and culture, in addition to hearing about the Cajon del Maipo area. It's a long drive to the reservoir but it's a very scenic area, and we made some stops along the way there and back for snacks. Benjamin was super knowledgeable and did a nice job communicating in both Spanish and English at the same time, since there were speakers of both languages on our tour.
Abruptly cancelled our tour late the evening prior. They offered an alternative tour that we participated in only because we didn't have time to make other plans. It was disappointing that there was not sufficient warning to book a better alternative activity. The alternative tour was entirely different than our initial tour. I would avoid this organization unless you're fine doing any random activity or being left with no plans.
This is a must do when in Santiago. Our guides Álvaro and Alejandro were fantastic!! They spoke amazing English and made sure everyone was having fun with their jokes. 1st they pick you up from your hotel. 2nd they bring you to a little shop which sells empanadas, donuts, coffee, snacks, etc. They take credit 💳 card! 3rd They make little scenic stops for pictures. 4th Cajón del Maipo!!!! Takes a little uphill hike to get to the main spot. Prob 20-30 mins total uphill mild walk but well worth it and you can take many breaks. 5th Chocolate house. They take credit 💳 card! 6th Picnic with amazing wine and a charcuterie board Chilean style.....with Doritos 😆. All in all an amazing experience. Please book this tour. You won't regret it! Gracias Álvaro and Alejandro
I had a really great day out on this tour lead by Alvaro. It was unexpected as originally I had booked to go to Portillo but that tour wasn’t able to go so the tour company offered me this one instead. I had a really lovely day as the tour was filled with expected and unexpected stops. On our way to cajon del maipo, we stopped at a few photo moments, along with a cafe in the morning to get coffee. At the reservoir there is about a 30 min walk to the main sight. The walk was not hard but the elevation and altitude made the air feel thinner so I was a bit out of breath. Once there the views are breathtaking. On our way back we stopped at a quick bathroom stop where there were some alpacas and farm animals. From above we were able to see condors which was very exciting. We then stopped at a unique chocolate shop, and then a wine and cheese tasting. After this we got delicious empanadas - you get to choose what you want inside which is ideal for a picky eater like me. That really concludes the tour. It’s then back to Santiago. We got back around 4.45pm. Highly worth the day trip. It was beautiful to see all the mountains, and the stops along the way were fun. Thanks Alvaro!!
November 2023: My best friend and I enjoyed an amazing tour with Alvaro! It's 100% worth the day trip from Santiago. They were very flexible with pick up and drop off, plus answered all our questions along the way. We got to see the Embalse el Yeso, the glaciar, the waterfall, enjoy some wine, snacks and jokes, the house of Chocolate (the ice cream was amazing), and some delicious empanadas at the end at the local town. It was so much fun and an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much💖✨
This trip was made most enjoyable with informative guide , Alvaro and very experienced driver, Alexi . We stopped at a number of very interesting stops and enough time was given to appreciate all that was on offer. We did this amazing hike to the reserve and were blown away by the views. The wine was well chosen and very good and the picnic was fun. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer water to drink after the hike (although one could drink some from the mountain stream if really necessary). A great trip, loved it!!!
Alvaro and Alejandro were a great team! We learned a lot of interesting facts about Chile and appreciated his recommendations for Santiago. Alejandro was a masterful driver!
Benjamin and Alejandro were an amazing team for our trip to Cajon Del Maipo. We had a wonderful, sunny day for our tour, and Alejandro navigated the curvy and bumpy roads like an expert. Benjamin shared wonderful information throughout the day, and answered all of our questions as the day went on. Gabriel, at the tour office, was also a great help when there was a miscommunication regarding our pick up point for the tour (Viator needs to work with this tour company to straighten that out). Overall, this was a really good tour with a great guide and driver. Thank you.
This was an excellent tour. Our guide Benjamin was very knowledgeable and made our trip fun and enjoyable. The trip up to the Reservoir was gorgeous to the top of the Andes mountains. Beautiful, vistas, and pictures. The chocolate house, and piñata’s and wine tasting we’re all great. Highly recommend this tour.
Our Guide Benjamin and our Driver Alejandro were amazing! Benjamin conducted our tour group of 8 in English, Spanish and Portugese. His abikity to switch between the was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable about the area and history and lots of info on Chilean history and culture. An excellent tour and an amazing experience! Cannot recommend enough! Richard - SCO/IRE
This tour was everything we hoped for - Álvaro, our guide, and Alejandro, our driver, were both amazing and very friendly. We had a safe and comfortable journey with great views and lots of interesting information!
A lovely and relaxed day that helped catch a glimpse of the majestic beauty of the Andes mountains and the Maipo valley. The wine tasting and empanadas added to the fun as did the excellent leadership of our guide and the capable driving of our driver. Well appointed, clean and comfortable vehicle. Communication the day before was clear and the pick up from the hotel on time. I really enjoyed this excursion.
Absolutely beautiful tour! Great tour guide Alvaro! Breathtaking views and beautiful scenery! Small group in friendly atmosphere made us feel nice!
Benjamin was amazing and very relatable! He even offered to watch over our stuff when we swam in the Maipo River. In addition, he was exceptional in his communication of the itinerary and ensured we had the right amount of time in each place. We never felt rushed and felt it easy to converse with him in English.
Fabulous time with Benjamin and Alexandro! The ride into the Andes offered great views and some hair raising turns. We stopped multiple times for photos and were able to walk all around the reservoir and waterfalls. The wine was excellent. The chocolate shop was a tasty treat--I recommend the coconut caramel ice cream! Be sure to save room for an Empanada, as well. The tour was conducted in excellent English, for us non-Spanish speakers. We definitely got our money's worth. I highly recommend this tour!
Benjamins english was a little hard to understand, but his knowledge of the area, enthusiasm, and attentiveness more than made up for it. Overall a fun tour.
Great relaxing time…….not a strenuous hike at all, just a chill sight seeing trip. The reservoir is very wonderful. Benjamin (guide) and Alejandro (driver) were the best!!!
