Nice experience, with extra care for safety of all participants and a very knowledgeable guide (unfortunately I cannot remeber his name, but if your guide has a long hair and long beard tied with rubber bands, you are in good hands). Communication was excellent from the booking to the pixkup. Very well recommended.

An amazing day, the hike, the guide and their knowledge was amazing. Small group which made it very personal with transport and surprises included! Fun, tiring and a day we will never forget 🤩
A great tour, wonderful knowledgeable guide. Breathtaking views and some spectacular sights including the mountains and wildlife.
Received a text the night before the tour that the route was not available due to heave rain and there was an alternate route scheduled to go the same day as the hike I signed up for. The new tour was at the Mirador de Condores in Cajon del Maipo and was a 10k hike. Turns out everyone on that tour was rescheduled from the Volcano hike and no one willing chose it to begin with. The hike was very steep and there was a lot of gravel to navigate, so a lot of people were slipping. On the wat down, the fast people (and guide) left about 5 of us in the back to basically fend for ourselves and we ended up off trail too many times. If your tour route gets changed to this hike instead, I would not recommend it unless you are extremely experienced in steep hikes.
well I didnt go on this walk as the rains made it impossible so instead went on the Mirador Condor walk. amazing, quite a climb and quite a steep descent but we were surrounded by snow peaked mountains and the valley far below with condors gliding through the sky while we ate our lunch. The guides were great. Highly recommend
The trip was amazing! In my opinion, we hiked during the best season. It wasn't too cold, and there was still snow on the Andes. Andrés was a great guide, and the tour itinerary was well organized. Highly recommended!
Great hike and great guides! Everything went as planned.
I truly enjoyed the hiking tour in Andes mountains. On October 5th, 2026 we hiked Andes. The guide showed up at our hotel on time (little early). Then, picked up the rest of the passengers headed to Andes. The guide was very attentive, kind and approchable. I highly recommend this tour if you are willing to hike not sitting inside a van. Due to the weather condition, the actual length of the hike has shortened but we covered good portion using snowshoes. Overall great experience. I requested a special meal due to a dietary restrictions and the company was able to accommodate my dietary needs.
What an amazing adventure. Andreas and Pablo our guides were amazing and Marco navigated the driving expertly on diverse conditions. We were lucky to be visiting after a fresh snowfall so donned snow shoes and walking poles to climb the mountain. Our guides were knowledgeable and engaging and always mindful of safety and each trekker’s ability. This day was definitely the highlight of our Chilean trip and we would recommend it 100%.
This is a must do experience when in Santiago. AndoAndes communication is excellent. Were able to accommodate lunch for my vegan daughter without hesitation. Pick up time was confirmed the night before and our guides, Andreas, Martin and driver were punctual the following morning. Our group of 10 were blessed with perfect weather. Hiking poles were provided and are a must. Throughout the road journey and during the hike, Andreas informed us of interesting information about the geography, geology, ornithology, flora and fauna of the area. We even saw a condor in flight. Very special. Andreas is incredibly passionate about eco-tourism and his knowledge is exceptional. The start of the hike is a good cardio workout, especially as our hike was surprisingly through the snow covered track to the volcano. The advice to wear hiking boots should be followed. Don't say 'no' to the hiking poles. They will assist your stability during the climb. A small backpack is needed to carry the provided water, lunch and snack. In such beautiful weather it is also wise to use sunscreen and have a hat. Dress in layers. Overall, this was the best tour we were part of in Santiago. Getting out in the fresh air and learning about the wonderful features of the beautiful Andes by a knowledgeable guide was fantastic. Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed!
Very professional team. Totally awesome day, snowshoes was a wonderful bonus because we had beautiful fresh snow overnight. Totally recommended this experience.
What a phenomenal experience snow tracking and hiking in the Andes Mountains. The view was breathtaking. It is a moderate intensity hike when there is snow but highly recommended it
This was a fantastic day trip, although it isn’t for everyone. 8 km of walking through the snow up to the mountain is definitely a real hike. The views are spectacular and the whole area is breathtakingly beautiful.
From the first enquiry until our final drop off, this tour was fantastic. I was a little concerned about walking in snow but the operator was very helpful and gave great advice. Our pick up was on time and the drive to the Cajon was lovely. A comfy van with a stop on the way to buy breakfast. Our guides Inez and Martin were so kind, helpful, generous, friendly and knowledgeable. They were very careful with the guests and took great care of us on the hike up and down. The views were magnificent. I am in my late 50’s and didn’t find the hike too hard. You are walking up for a while so of course it is not the same as walking on a flat road, but the guides took a slow and steady pace with breaks as needed. They provided walking poles for those who did not have them. The packed lunch was very nice and they supplied ample water. At the end you are treated with some Chilean wine, cheese, fruit and other tasty treats. I am so happy I did this tour!
This is a very well organised Hiking Trip in the mountains. Andres is an excellent guide. He provides very clear instructions and information and is a very good communicator. I booked at the last minute, yet I was contacted with updates by Andres and his team immediately. Andres is a fount of information about the mountains and its wildlife and regularly stops to explain things or point out birds, animals or items of interest. This is a relatively easy hike, but one should be relatively fit and have some light hiking experience. Andres will send you a list of items one should wear or carry, I would stress one ... hiking boots. Andres also provides hiking poles. I would recommend using 2. They come in handy in the snow.
A lovely day in the mountains, we visited in winter and did a snow shoe hike up the valley to a picturesque spot near the foot of the two volcanoes. We were fortunate enough to see condors and a zorro/fox. Snow shoes and poles were provided, but not much information was provided about the conditions to expect on the mountain, and how to dress for it. The gradient of the hike was quite gentle to ensure it’s accessible for a wide audience. Information about the region and mountains provided on the drive and the hike was great, really informative. The drive too and from the location is a couple of hours each way. There’s a ‘breakfast’ stop, which is pretty basic. You can also hire snow clothing if needed.
Fantastic day out, one of the best tours ive done for seeing wonderful scenery with snow everywhere covering the andes. Our guide Andres was fantastic highlighting rock formations, types of minerals in the rocks, which animals were in the area from their prints left behind in the snow. At the end we saw 2 condors flying overhead. Would highly recommend this tour if travelling solo or in a group.
Dress in layers that are easy to remove/put on. The hike was absolutely beautiful and the guides were great in taking rests/breaks throughout the climb. Each hiker is best off carrying their own backpacks to have water/electrolytes for the day.
In talking with friends about our trip to Chile we've referenced "when we were in the Andes" so many times because of the wonderful experience we had on this hike. The views and scenery were breath taking. We're in shape and in our 70's and didn't have a problem with the altitude, sun and 4.5 mile hike, but others did so go prepared. The young guides were experienced and very safety focused. The extra stop on the way back to Santiago for Wine and a wonderful charcuterie board and deserts was the cherry on top of a very remember able day in Chile.
Amazing hike with beautiful views of the volcano. Excellent tour guide who pointed out interesting features and knew the best photo opportunities.
Andres is a great tour operator and person. He is very knowledgeable as it relates to the experience. He comes across as a genuinely good guy. He’s metal! Made us feel welcomed and safe. His English is perfect. Hike was easy if you are at a medium fitness level. Important stuff: you make a coffee/breakfast stop, lunch/water included, afternoon wine cheese included, bathroom stops are made. For expectations know that It takes about 2 hours to get to the mountains and two hours to get back. If you are an avid hiker this isn’t an off grid multi day trip so don’t expect it to be like hiking in Patagonia.
Awesome tour with very nice guides. Beautiful scenery. Really worth a visit, also (especially!) in winter when there’s snow.
The lady was very knowledgeable about all of the Chilean history as she was a history professor and was very nice and wanted to be there.
What an amazing experience. This was the best experience. The tour guides (Iris and team) were so helpful and fun, creating play lists from our favorite songs and taking the hike at a pace that was comfortable for everyone. What a beautiful scenic place, seeing the active volcano and playing in the snow was a highlight of our trip to Chile!
What a great beautiful day! Everything went smoothly from pickup and drop off. The lunch and wine were amazing too! The guides and driver were also absolutely amazing! Thank you! The hike itself was easy to moderate.
We had a wonderful day. Our tour guides Andres, Camilla and Martin were great with interesting facts to share. Our tour was very informative, beautiful and we felt very welcomed. We would highly recommend this day tour.
Highly recommend, best day out, the views, lunch, picnic with wine and cheese, Andre’s made the day memorable.
I would totally recommend this trip! Everything from pick-up till drop-off went smoothly. Andres and Camilla were amazing guides and the group was also great - it felt like going on a trip with friends! Since we were quite fast, we even extended the tour to about 10k. Andres taught us a lot about the geography and other specifics of the region. We didn't see many animals since all had been brought down because of an announced blizzard in the following week but we DID see two condors, which was amazing. I'd totally do it again!
Fabulous day trip! Andres and Camilla were wonderful guides, both friendly and knowledgeable. Scenery was absolutely stunning and the hike was just the right level of challenging. Highly recommended!
We had a great time with our guide Andres as he helped us navigate the paths through the valley. We had ample opportunity to admire the scenery and take in the fresh air. You could tell Andres loves nature and truly enjoys the outdoors. Make sure to bring trekking/hiking shoes as the path is a bit rugged. Also, I recommend thick socks or pants that cover the ankles due to the short thistle shrubs. Not a challenging hike but definitely not a stroll in the park so plan accordingly.
Awesome experience! The views were very beautiful. Andreas the guide was very knowledgeable and nice. Patricia, the other guide was a great support and Poncho is a great driver.
Good hike close to Santiago. Overall very smooth experience and a good activity if you want to get out of Santiago for the day. Patricia our guide was lovely. Walking pace suitable for all levels.
This place is spectacular and beautiful. In every direction there was a beautiful photo to be taken. If you're looking for a great day in the Andes and you have a day to spare in Santiago come here. Our guides Camilla and Patricia were friendly and helpful. The walk was easy on rocky paths and at a slow relaxed pace - we spent about 5 hours walking the 8k.
Our hiking trip to El Cajón del Maipo was absolutely incredible, thanks to our phenomenal guides, Patricia and Camila. From start to finish, they brought a vibrant, energetic, and enthusiastic energy that kept the whole group lifted. We spent the day hiking through the stunning mountain range under perfect weather. The scenery was breathtaking, but the hospitality made it unforgettable. Patricia and Camila provided a wonderful lunch with front-row views of the mountains. To wrap up an already perfect day, they, along with our highly skillful driver—set up a beautiful final picnic. We enjoyed delicious appetizers and fantastic Chilean wine while soaking in the views.I highly recommend this tour with Patricia, and Camila. If you are visiting Chile, do not miss out on this experience!
If we could give this hiking tour 10 out of 5 we’d do it👍. Andres and Camilla gave us the most beautiful day in the Andes. It is definitely the highlight of our trip! The scenery has to be seen to be believed and what better way than to really get amongst it! Andres chilled vibe and informed knowledge of the environment, flora and fauna were so informative and inclusional. Highly recommend this day trip if you enjoy hiking and stunning scenery!
Varied hike on dry rocky paths, through vibrant green pastures, and over glacial streams with a dramatic backdrop of snow-capped mountains with glaciers. Lunch by a stream. We even saw a condor. Our guide Andres was very knowledgeable, informative and helpful - just fantastic. It was a great day. Highly recommended.
This was a very special day. Andres our guide was wonderful, full of knowledge and fun. It was definitely a very special experience. A steep climb but done slowly allowing us to take in the beautiful surroundings and experience an outstanding atmosphere. Definitely worth doing. Thanks Andres!
Absolutely incredible day!!!! Ali, our guide, was truly fantastic, with such a beautiful energy that infected us with her enthusiasm, calm and love of Chile. I was nervous about the hike with my asthma, but it was more than fine, and Ali and the team made me feel very safe and welcome. I could not recommend it more, particularly for female solo travellers. I will still be in Chile in July and will be rebooking to see the landscape in Winter.
I had a lovely trip with Ani and Patti. They were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. Can definitely recommend.
Great little hike-a bit arduous in the beginning then eases up. Cordial tour guides. Easy pick up and drop off
Great trip out with very friendly and knowledgable guides. They pick you up at the hotel, clearly communicate times, provide food, etc. Very well organised
Intended to go on Monday but it was pushed to Tuesday due to bad weather. The team was very accommodating and checked if I wanted to proceed or get a refund. They were flexible with pickup as well. Andreas is extremely knowledgeable about the area and geography, and it was wonderful to get to know more about the very interesting and unique ecosystem. Hiking poles, water, and lunch were provided (including vegan options).
We had a blast on this trail! Andres and the guides were amazing, super attentive, and one even spoke great Portuguese, which was a fun touch. The hike starts with some tough uphill climbs but levels out and gets much easier. We kept a very light pace to stay with the whole group, including some elderly hikers, and the guides did a great job coordinating everyone and sharing cool local stories along the way. As for the weather in April, don't let the sun fool you, while it’s not freezing cold, the wind is brutal. I wore several layers and kept my base layer on the whole time. Definitely bring a hat and plenty of sunscreen, because that sun is intense! I took so many photos, the scenery is surreal, and we could see the mountain ranges with their snowy peaks. It was truly incredible.
My partner and I had the most amazing time with Patricia from Ando Andes. We were picked up on the dot around 6:30 AM, a few picks up and we stopped for a coffee. The drive there is so comfortable and beautiful. We reached there and started the hike, they provide hiking sticks. I strongly recommend a jacket and hiking shoes. Patricia took us through and would stop every 250-500m giving us details about the history and terrain. The view is breathtaking as you hike. Mid-way we stopped for a sandwich and cereal bar (which they provide). This hike was slightly challenging but the guide is really helpful. Thank you so much for a once in a lifetime experience. Best for beautiful snowy Mountain View’s and streams We had a crowd size of 6 people and no entry fee to the park. Once you book, everything is included (except the coffee stop). The whole tour took 8 hours.
This was such a great day- our guide, Patricia, was lovely- so kind and informative. The scenery was simply incredible. It was a good solid hike that wasn’t too difficult and they provided walking sticks which were really helpful.
This was a great day tour. Was picked up from my Airbnb early morning and dropped off again on return. The tour guide Andres explained everything, was very friendly, and excited to take us to the Andes, about two hours mini van trip to Andes. There were about 9 people on the tour all pretty friendly. The scenery is exactly as shown in the picture, with glorious mountains all around and the ones in the background with glaciers. The best thing was there was no other bus tour in the area, we were the only group (except another small group we encountered) on the around 8-9 km moderate hike assuming you are in reasonable physical shape. This was a better experience than I expected in terms of the hike and mountains and I did not mind the 3-4 hour drive (in a clean and spacious van) round trip as it was compensated by hiking in the cool fresh air and great Andes scenery.
Our guides Patricia and Ale were great and had expert driving by Sebastian. Was an easy hike and we kept at a slow pace (which was good because of the altitude). Lovely scenery and lunch was okay.
Wonderful experience in breathtaking landscape. The tour guides were personable and knowledgeable. The entire day ran smoothly, from collection at our hotel, journey to the Andes and return to hotel - highly recommend this experience.
Definitely a top day tour from Santiago. Andres was an amazing guide with a love of the Chilean environment and the Andes mountains. He paced the tour with consideration of all participants and kept us entertained with information about the Andes mountains and eco system.
I probably had no business attempting an 8K hike, but I didn't really know enough not to go. BUT, in spite of the difficulty for me of the climb of the 1K portion to get to the valley to view the active volcano, the scenery was beautiful, it was a beautiful day, and it was rewarding once arriving to the level valley. The best part of the excursion for me was that, even though I was slow, the guide named Josmir (who stays with the last hiker, which was me), stayed with me the entire hike, and was delightful. She did not try to get me to stay up with the others, instead encouraged me to take my time, enjoy the surroundings, and take it all in. She was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the mountains and her country. She made the experience great. She explained that somedays she leads, but I would hope that if you're a slowpoke, you will have her to stay behind with you.
