This was a very long bus ride but there were some stops on the way. Andes Mountains were incredible. The lagoon was gorgeous. Our guide and driver were very nice. The guide gave us lots of good information. A nice lunch was provided.

Beautiful scenery and a small group tour. Tour guide was difficult to understand and didn’t provide a lot of commentary but scenery made up for it. Lunch snack was good. I selected this tour because we were not interested in a wine tour and it was a good choice. Just a warning that roads are curvy and narrow.
Great day trip from Santiago. Patricia was great and overall highly recommend it, especially if you're interested in seeing a lot by car with some minor hiking
The scenery was incredible. Our guide Andres was knowledgeable, very intelligent about the wildlife and the local ecological setting. The tour was on time, prompt and gave lots of breaks. Loved it!
It was my first time in Chile and had an amazing first impression. Laura was amazing and I had such a great day trip. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I truly enjoyed it!! I would highly recommend this day trip!
It was a greatly personal (of 3 pax) day trip hosted by Andres, our guide. He was very knowledgeable and has plenty of stories to tell us. The pace was perfect, slow and absolutely not in a hurry (like some of the other tour groups we saw). We were provided with a delicious sandwich for lunch and later a nice picnic spread of cheese, cured meat, crackers and fruits to go with our wine. Andres is who you'll want to take you on this. The sights were amazing! We enjoyed ourselves very much.
The tour guys were very good and we had a nice lunch together overall it was a very good trip. We stopped several times beautiful views.
Cannot recommend more. Best thing I’ve ever done. Friendly tour guide. Amazing views, incredible experience.
Our guide Gonzalo was outstanding; helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable. Awesome scenery, excellent picnic lunch, and lots of laughs!
Sebastian our tour guide was amazing. He's very knowledgeable about both the areas we visited and the geology and ecology. His experience served us well as we had to make alterations to our plan on the day due to snow and ended up having probably a better experience as a result as we went to places that weren't planned although very beautiful. Thank you so much for a 5 star experience!
Rai was an outstanding guide. Because he has been a guide elsewhere in Chile he gave us many tips on the others cities we were scheduled to visit. Probably the most outstanding part of the tour was the gourmet lunch he prepared for us. He was by far the best guide on our complete tour of Chile.
This was my third trip with Andos Andes. Great staff and fun day trips. Easy pick up from your hotel and drop off. Will do another day trip with them soon on my next visit.
Recervation was accepted and 2 hours later was suspended. Why do you have that desorder? I never experienced a situation like that with viator.
Our awesome, rock climbing, perfect English speaking, native Chilean guide picked us up at our hotel in his 4 wheel drive truck. He drove us to the outskirts of Santiago where we stopped at a roadside restaurant/ bar for coffee and breakfast. Next we drove to the base of the Andes. We went on a 3 hour hike up the mountains. It was just the 3 of us, blue sky and gorgeous mountains! We stopped for a picnic packed by the roadside restaurant. Delicious! After our climb down, we were driven to the man made lake Embalse de Yeso. The scene is exquisite! It was Monday and hardly any other people were there. Afterwards we returned to the same roadside restaurant for yummy empanadas and Chilean wine. Then back to our hotel. This day trip lasted about 12 hours. Our guide, Hernan, was precious! He taught us much about the culture of Santiago and Patagonia (his playground as a professional rock climber.) We would highly recommend this excursion. Bring hiking boots.
Great value for money, wonderful site, and knowledgable guide. Hernan not only was able to explain the history and geology of the area but was patient and helpful throughout the entire tour. Highly recommend.
It was a wonderful trip. I liked the tour and the views were definitely were amazing. The only thing I did not like was the food. The sandwiches were not that great. Mai was an amazing tour guide and I really liked her. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and was very passionate about her job.
I only had one day off so I decided to do a tour to the mountains.. hoping to see this beautiful landscape and even some condors.. and we got it all... we saw 4 condors .. thanks so much to Elias and Carlos.. they were so funny and so friendly and just amazing tour guides.. we felt so safe .. and got everything explained we asked for .. heard beautiful music.. saw incredible nature.. and had an awesome lunch .. It was really a perfect day... not only because of the nature, the perfect sunny summer day but above all because of the 2 of them.. which made the day so special..
An excellent tour, our guide Gonzales and driver Carlos were very good and knowledgeable. They were not in a rush and gave an excellent commentary. I give this a full recommendation.
Great trip to The lagoon, guide Elias was very knowledgeable and friendly and our driver Felipe was excellent maneuvering over rough and narrow mountain roads. We stoped at a very nice restaurant, where you could get coffee &/or breakfast and they provided delicious sandwiches which we for lunch at the lagoon. Would fully recommend this trip as an easy adventure into the Andes.
From the start we were well looked after by Elias and Felipe. An early start, with pick up around 6:30, saw us head through the city listening to explanations and we gained an insight into life in Santiago. We stopped several times on our way out to sample some Chilean food and listen to folklore about ‘Willy’. Disappointingly there wasn’t much snow to see but that’s what you get in summer! The colour of the water was amazing and the backdrop of the Andes made for incredible scenery. On our way back, we stopped off for some further sustenance and a wee drop of Chilean wine. Elias and Felipe ensured we enjoyed our tour!
Excellent 5 hour day trip into the Andes to the Argentine border. Lovely lagoon and a great lunch provided. Tour guide was knowledgeable and personal. I would easily recommend this trip.
This tour was cancelled due to a bad accident in the summer so it was replaced with a tour to Portillo Ski resort, traveling up the windiest road to the Andes...a beautiful lagoon awaited us and nice coffee at the ski resort. Then our guide took us for lunch at a little restaurant in the mountains serving homemade Chilean food! Excellent choice... So the replacement tour worked well and everyone a happy camper!! It was cold though so warm hat and gloves needed!
These kind of trips strongly depend on the good guide and Nico is the best guide one can imagine! We saw beautiful, breathtaking places on the way, Nico told us so much about Chile in general and the views outside the window. We strongly recommend this trip, especially with Nico!:) Thank you so much for an amazing day in Chile!
I went to this tour solo while my friends were in Atacama. Francisco Faez is an outstanding guide, he knows everything a about the zone and is a friendly guy. Van was comfortable and I like that we were just 5 people so we pretty much has a customized private tour. We took pleny of time to walk through the Embalse. Food was good in Huevos de Oro restaurant, make sure to try mote con huesillos and pastel de choclo. I'd definitely recommend this tour to any friend.
I would highly recommend this tour and Andoandes as a company. The day itself was lovely and really well organised you get to stop off quite regularly and see some beautiful little towns on the way up the mountains so you don’t feel like you are stuck on a bus all day! I was in a group of around 9 people. Our excellent guide Coti and driver Manu, were really friendly and got us all mixing really well, despite language barriers. This really made the day as you were able to enjoy a gorgeous part of the world with good company( and nice wine !) Coti was a fantastic guide, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She organised the group very efficiently so that we all got the most out of the day. Loved all of it and the day was rounded off perfectly with the wine and snacks at a nice little bar on the way back down. I had originally booked onto another tour which had insufficient numbers. The company were great at finding me another tour to suit my requirements and were excellent at communicating both before and after I arrived into Santiago. I was very impressed with this tour and how it was run. I would definitely use Andoandes again
My wife and I were picked exactly on time by Sebastian. Picked up another couple then off on the tour. Sebastian was excellent. Great English skills. Very informative. Very safe driver. Would thoroughly recommend this tour. No frills. But fantastic.
We organised this tour before we left our home country however it was cancelled due to poor weather (it happens) however we were lucky enough to go a few weeks later at the end of our trip. Unfortunately despite confirming a change in hotels between these times via email the guide attempted to pick us up at the original hotel. The tour itself was splendid with our guide (Gabrielle) and driver (Manu) giving a very informative tour of the Santiago Andes and helping to take some great pictures of us in the ice and snow. The wine and food platter at the end of the tour was generous in both quantity and quality. This tour is a great way for tourists to visit the mountains!
The guides proved to be very thoughtful and quite acquainted with the history. (Antonio/Manuel - if I´m not wrong). They picked us up on time and the whole trip was very pleasant and confortable I highly recommend.
Our guide Francisco Godoy was just great, really knowledgeable, excellent driver, really went the extra mile in terms of giving us all the information we needed to really make sense of and enjoy this wonderful landscape. He drove us far beyond the crowds to really be able to appreciate what we were seeing, the cheese and wine were delicious, we had great company and it was all well worth the money. We will definitely be taking more trips with this company, they really know their business.
It was an amazing trip going through the Cajon del Maipo with excellent explanation of each detail. Extra complement to the guides Diego and Francisco that were amazing going above the average guides!
I highly recommend AndoAndes. They were able to accommodate our last minute booking with no problem. Sebastian our guide was a great person to spend a day with, was super knowledgeable about the area and was able to take us places beyond where most of the tourists go. Request him if you can!
went on June 24th 2018 I realize when booking an excursion you have to keep in mind the weather, which is where we took a risk! We saw rain in the forecast and kept our reservation anyway. Our trip started very early at 630AM pickup. We picked up the rest of the group and went on our way. We stopped at a very local restaurant spot for breakfast (not included in the price). We stopped at an equipment place to pick up any extra clothing if people were ill-prepared for the weather (gloves, boots etc.) Both of these stops could have been skipped in my opinion. We were told the road to Embalse El Yeso was closed, which was the main attraction. The guide told us that she would take us up the mountain to a Swiss Hut to have lunch and go snow shoeing instead. It was beginning of the season so there wasn't much snow. The views weren't spectacular by any means. She then took us to this famous tunnel, which was okay but nothing to write home about. The guide was very educated and smart and did a good job of encouraging fun and a good time, which I appreciated but the value of the excursion wasn't there. I would say this trip was maybe worth $40, not $100! The sandwiches were made with their local bread, which was super dry and quality was bad. The nuts, cheese and snacky stuff was fine and wine was good but could have had more than one glass. If anything, we should have brought our own wine so we could have more. Anyway, we got home at 6pm, which was WAY later than we thought. There is nothing on the vouchers saying what time the tour ends, which was annoying. I think going forward if there is a plan B when weather is bad just take people to a local winery or find an alternative that is worth $100. We should have cancelled at the 24 hour mark when we had the chance! Do the same if you see rain in the forecast. Also, not sure if Embalse El Yeso alone is worth the $100 but you can take your chances if you want!
The scenery was amazing - fresh snow on a warm sunny cloudless day! We had so much fun playing with the snow, and taking lotsa of awesome photos! Coti, our guide, was really friendly and sincere, and we highly recommend going with AndosAndes for the Cajon Del Maipo / Embalse El Yeso day trip!
This was a fantastic day trip. There were just three of us on the tour (excluding our excellent guide Constanza and convivial driver Manuel) so it was nice and personal, and the guides easily adapted to our personalities, preferences and style. My goal had been to get into the Central Chilean Andes m The chance to walk around in quiet solitude in the El Yeso wilderness was amazing, and not something I'd have had the opportunity to do without this tour. I was pleased to see a viscacha and several condors - and nobody can turn down a bit of wine, cheese, and empanadas! Originally I had hoped to do the San Jose Volcano trip, but it turned out that this couldn't be offered on my preferred day due to insufficient numbers. I wasn't disappointed with El Yeso as a substitute. From what I heard from my companions who had been to San Jose, this is the better of the two tours. I would caution that if you are set on a particular tour, you may need to think again given the minimum numbers requirements for tours (granted, it's not the only company that operates on minimum numbers). In my case this worked out well. I also felt a bit sorry for the guides: although the company communicated promptly and professionally to me, it did not seem to pass details onto the guides. All things considered this was a great day out. Special thanks to Constanza and Manuel for their attention and real interest shown towards all of us.
Went on a last minute day trip to Embalse El Yeso. I was looking all over for a tour that would fit my schedule before I had to catch a flight out that evening from SCL. All other companies seem to run a 9am - 630pm tour, where as Andos offered an earlier departure and return. The booking process was very straightforward and helpful (through whatsapp chat), pick up was smooth. It was a small van with a group of 1 driver, 1 guide and 6 participants, which was great as I was travelling solo. Andos seems like a bigger travel company, but their tours, by virtue of having smaller groups, allows the tour guides to be more flexible. They were very aware of my situation of having to get back to the city early, and shifted scheduled stops around to make sure we got to the spots early to avoid the crowds and to avoid the peak traffic. The guide spoke perfect English and our driver was fantastic as well. We had a great picnic by a scenic waterfall, which just added to the list of wonderful sights we saw. Will definitely recommend this company to any traveler looking to get into the Andes.
There are several similar tours on offer to Embalse El Yeso. Some friends had done one of the other ones (red buses) and then came with us on this one. This is much better...toured much more of the lake with much more commentary and looked after better. The tour itself was great. We had Sebastian and Phillipe. Both great guys, knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to and happy to answer questions in English and Spanish.
I books this tour with my wife and cannot express how impressed I was. We have taken tour all over the world and I have to admit this was one of if not the best tour we have part taken in. Ignacio the “tour guide” and Felipe “Drive” are incredible and are hands down the best tour guide/driver duo. The have great chemistry and the dialogue with us was awesome. Cannot recommend highly enough. Don’t think twice before taking this tour and ask for Ignacio and Felipe if available. Thanks guys. Could not be happier!

Great tour and well organised day trip. Fun and informative.

The foothills of the Chilean Andes with views of the snow-capped mountains. The dam and reservoir. Lunch with some Chilean wine and the mountains and reservoir as a backdrop. Stopped off at a vineyard on the return journey and sampled their wares, which was most welcome! Many thanks to Constanza was an excellent guide and Juan Carlos who was a great guy and superb driver along the narrow roads. Thanks for helping me up after my fall, Juan Carlos! Highly recommend this tour.
Sensational day trip with amazing tour guide Francisco. He was very knowledgeable of the environment. Thanks also to the great and patient driver Norberto. They provided us with a wonderful experience.
Lovely weather, spectacular scenery, the late appearance of an Andean Condor makes it a perfect ending. Our guide Francisco was very good.
Spent a really lovely day with AndoAndes to the Cajon del Maipo. Our guide Francisco was helpful and informative, speaks English well, and chatted easily with the group as well as one-on-one. Very capable and safe driving by Felipe, in a comfortable minivan that holds a max of 12 people (we were only 8, which was nice). The company communicated well by email in advance, pickup was punctual, and the stops along the way were brief but interesting, and allowed for some nice photo ops. Overall a great experience, highly recommend. Note to solo travelers – I found this to be a better option than the larger bus tours, but more affordable than a private driver, which can be pretty steep for just one person. BUT AndoAndes still needs a minimum number of people to offer the trip, so I wasn’t able to go on the day I selected, they asked me if I could go the following day. I was fine with it, but it could be an issue if you are on a tight schedule.

Great trip. Francisco and Pablo were charming and knew their stuff. Highly recommend.

Beautiful day trip to El Yeso. Our guide Francisco was excellent - very enthusiastic and knowledgable, and always checking to see if we were ok or if we needed anything. Even got me a coffee in the morning when I was clearly half asleep and could barely string a sentence together. 😂 Our driver Pablo was also great, and took the time to chat to everyone and be involved with the group which is not always the case with drivers I have had on other tours. I've been on other tours that didn't even care or take into account my dietary requirements, but this company made sure I had something suitable to eat, which was much appreciated. I've seen other comments about the stop of two hours being to long at El Yeso, but I disagree - in fact I would have liked a bit longer to have a full walk around the dam and soak up the mountain air. All in all a good day. 😊
The weather couldn't have been better for our trip to Embalse El Yeso. The pictures we took were like postcards: deep blue skies, rugged snow-capped mountains, aqua blue water. Our guide was Francisco and I can't recommend him enough. He spoke excellent English. He was knowledgeable in the history and geology of the area. It's obvious he is passionate about protecting the environment of Chile. The driver who's name I didn't hear was very safe on what were twisty steep roads. There are many similar tours but Francisco did several things that made this special. He had the van parked a little farther away. This meant we could enjoy the walk a little more and, importantly, that we could get out easier. We had lunch at a quiet area by a beautiful waterfalls, away from the reservoir area which started to get crowded. Some tours had their people literally eating by the road as cars whizzed by. The lunch was delicious and the Chilean red wine served was really good. At no time did we feel rushed. My wife and I were so happy we decided on this tour and we felt very fortunate to have Francisco and his driver to show us this inspiring location.

My husband and I have done a lot of trips around the world: Europe, Asia, Middle East and etc., but thanks to our guide Gonzalo, this was the most enjoyable and informative tour that we have ever done and it is the first time I was looking forward to leave a comment! He was supportive all the way, from the very beginning we stepped into the van. Throughout the trip his main concern was our safety and awareness, very welcoming and knowledgeable, making the trip memorable! We highly recommend any trip with a guide like Gonzalo! The tour itself includes amazing, spectacular scenery of the Andes, Glaciers and Lagoons of Cajon de Maipo. The organization was excellent regarding the lunch, including wine, cheese and appetizers.

A very enjoyable day in the mountains. Our guide gave lots of background information and the driver did a wonderful job on all the back roads.

I would recommend this tour to everyone. If you're coming to Santiago for the first time and if you love nature, this place will surprise you. Our guide Gonzalo and the driver were very professional. Gonzalo knew his stuff about the country history and the place we visited. Worth it, really! ☺️

The charge of US90 is too expensive for the trip like this. There is not much to see the scenery.
It is quite boring except the tour guide is a wonderful person

This was a great way to see part of the Andes with amazing scenery, good company and a very welcoming and knowledeable guide. We visited a small rural village and then climbed into the Andes where there was spectacular scenery and a picnic lunch beside Embalse El Yeso. I highly recommend this tour.
