We had a wonderful trip with Martin. He is knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him. I had sprained my ankle badly a few days before and Martin modified the trip to make it as easy as possible for me. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable time. Highly recommend this trip.

Itinerary
Explore the glorious surroundings of Minca with rivers, waterfalls and magnificent views. First we will enjoy Pozo Azul, a beautiful waterfall with refreshing water from the Sierra Nevada. To swim there is a great start of the day. Then we’ll move to the coffee farm La Victoria. During the coffee tour we'll come to know everything about coffee and the history of the farm. After La Victoria we'll have lunch and then we will visit one more waterfall Cascada Marinka, where we can swim once more before leaving to Santa Marta.
Start your morning with one of Minca’s most famous waterfalls. We pick you up at 7:00 AM so you can arrive at Pozo Azul before the crowds and enjoy this jungle gem in peace. Dive into the refreshing crystal-clear pools, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of rushing water. Visiting early makes all the difference—you’ll often have the cascades almost to yourself, creating a tranquil and unforgettable start to the day.
Next, visit La Victoria Coffee Farm, founded in 1892 by English engineers and still one of Colombia’s oldest working plantations. Walk through the plantation, see original machinery from London and New York that is still in operation today, and learn how coffee is cultivated, harvested, and roasted in the Sierra Nevada. This is a hands-on, immersive experience that takes you through the entire journey of coffee—from bean to cup. To complete the visit, enjoy a freshly brewed tasting with the distinctive flavors that make this mountain-grown coffee so unique.
Lunch in Minca After the coffee experience, relax and savor a traditional lunch in Minca town. Your guide will take you to a carefully selected local spot where you can enjoy authentic regional flavors. It’s the perfect break to recharge and soak in the atmosphere of this laid-back mountain village.
Marinka Waterfalls End your adventure with a visit to Marinka Waterfalls, one of the largest and most beautiful in the area. With two impressive cascades and wide jungle pools, Marinka is ideal for a refreshing swim or simply relaxing in a hammock while listening to the roar of falling water. Surrounded by lush greenery and colorful butterflies, this is the perfect way to close your day in Minca before heading back to Santa Marta.

Martin was the best and most friendly guide I have ever had. It was a great day with him. I would highly recommend him for this experience.
We had a wonderful time on this day trip with Martin. We visited two beautiful waterfalls, both perfect for a refreshing swim . The tour of the local coffee farm was also interesting — it was great to learn about the process from bean to cup and lunch was a nice opportunity to try some tasty Colombian cuisine. Overall, it was a fantastic day out and a great way to see the best of Minca if you are short on time. Highly recommend!
We saw beautiful waterfalls, learned about how coffee and chocolate are made, and had two amazing guides, Alfredo and Shannon.
Martin provided an excellent private tour to the waterfalls in Minca and to the coffee farm. His tour worked well for our group as one of the people has mobility issues. We drove fairly close to the waterfalls so it was a shorter hike in. Highly recommended.
The private tour with Gustavo was excellent. He arrived promptly at the lodge to pick us up. He was very personable and his English very good. We walked on the paths in the Corcoran valley where he was very familiar with the plants and animals. Later we visited Aurora coffee company, a small coffee farm. He knew the owner and thoroughly explained the process from bean to coffee. Lastly, we walked through Salento, where he talked about the history of. A member of our group had mobility issues and Gustavo easily accommodated our group. I highly recommend this tour.
We had an awesome day from start to finish. Our guide, Martin, was super knowledgeable in the history of the town & answered all of our questions! We started the day at Pozo Azul, then the coffee farm; Finca Victoria, which has so much cool history! Then we headed to the town of Minca for the most delicious homemade sancocho that tastes like a Colombian grandma’s secret recipe, we then took a trip to the Marinka waterfalls, which were so refreshing to swim in. Martin was super chill and accommodating to our needs & took some sweet pictures of us! Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a more relaxed & less crowded tour experience.
We had an incredible nice day with Martin, very personal and tailored for our taste. Started early in the morning with a pick up in our hotel in Santa Marta and Martin took the 2 of us straight to the Pozo Azul (normally super crowded, many people recommend not to go there). But at 7.30am there was nobody, not even the guards and usual vendors sho we were alone in the beautiful pond in front of the waterfall. We had plenty of time there before the next tourists arrived. After that we visited the coffee Finka Victoria, beautiful place with a private tour by the farmers explaining about their coffee process and showing us the equipment they use. Of course there was time for breakfast, coffee and even artisanal beer which they brew on the farm (very good btw). We drove then back to Minca, changed into a FWD and drove up a dirt road to the MARINKA Waterfalls where we had again the chance to swim and soak in front of the falls. During the whole day Martin explained us everything we wanted to know about Colombia, Santa Marta, culture etc… so far this was the best day of our vacation in Colombia, beautiful and informative. Thanks Martin for that experience
My family and I had an amazing waterfall and coffee tour. Our guides Daniele and Alfredo were awesome! They gave us the history of Santa Marta, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Minca. They were funny and so kind. The coffee farm tour was very cool and informative. The restaurant our guides picked out had the most delicious food we had in Columbia. The tour was worth every penny! We thoroughly enjoyed our day.
What a fun adventure! We felt like we were in Romancing the Stone, riding a jeep up through mountain "roads" to see grand waterfalls and visit an amazing hotel for lunch. If you want Instagram worthy photos or just to take in the beautiful vistas, this is your tour!
We had a great time with Martin! He took us to very nice Waterfalls and really explained all the coffee farm with detail :) 10/10
I highly recommend Iguanas Tours if you want a more personalized exploration of Minca and the surrounding areas. I found them on Trip Advisor and booked the tour through the Iguanas Tours website. We were able to contact Martin beforehand with our questions and were able to confirm our two pick-up locations. During the holidays, the touristy spots get busy, so Alfredo, our Spanish-speaking guide, picked us up in Santa Marta super early so we could beat the crowds. We headed straight for Pozo Azul – one of the most famous waterfalls in the area, and it was terrific. We were there with only a few other locals and tourists – it was so serene. The water was super cold, but we took the plunge, which was so refreshing. The next stop was La Victoria for a tour of one of the oldest coffee farms in Colombia. It was a nice stop, and enjoyable to listen to the area's rich history. The ride to our next stop, the Minca Hostel, was one of our favorite parts of the day. It is easy to see why a 4x4 is the way to travel up in the mountains above Minca. It was a bumpy, bouncy ride full of laughter and an impromptu stop at Louis's coffee farm, where we enjoyed the best cappuccino and conversation! Finally, we made it to the hostel for lunch and were greeted with chill vibes. We enjoyed a delicious meal with a few Caprihinis while sitting in the netted canopies over the hillside. I highly recommend this company for a personalized tour!
Marten from Iguanas Tours provided us with an excellent day. Two waterfalls were very refreshing and relaxing and his knowledge of the working of the coffee farm was very informative. Also, the trip gets you out of the Santa Marta heat and into a more mild climate. Bug spray is a must, as the small flies near the waterfalls do bite. Highly recommend
Took a solo trip up to Minca and wanted to go birding. Martin at Iguanas tours was a huge help in making this happen (shout out to Richard, my excellent birding guide). Martin also helped me arrange a 4x4 tour up into the mountains to a coffee farm and some mountain top hostels/lookouts and a waterfall (shout out to Alfredo, my guide). My entire experience was great and I would highly recommend Iguanas tours when in the Santa Marta/Minca area, as they have a lot to offer and are super nice about everything! Thanks again guys!
Martin is a great guide with contacts in many destinations around Santa Marta. He ensured everyone was safe and that we were getting good deals on our purchases. In addition, he was extremely informative and helpful throughout the tours. We spent multiple days using his service to tour Minca, La Victoria, a chocolate farm, a few beaches and many other small sights.
They were a great experience. So many of my parents that my kids had fun together. I told them what we wanted to do and they customized our tour. They gave us good recommendations too. We got to blue pit before the crowd arrived. Then we went to the Victoria coffee farm which was very nice and interesting (coffee is very good but expensive). We had good lunch in a restaurant in Minca. From there we went to the Marinka waterfall which is a great experience as you go by the photos. Finally we went to the candelaria for the cocoa tour. The tour and view are worth it. Climbing up to the candlestick in the 4x4 was your own experience! Get down well! Our guides/drivers Alfredo and Shenandoah were very good and had a lot of fun with them. And thanks to Martin for organizing it efficiently.
Excellent day tour to Minca. Martin had coordinated everything perfectly according to the wishes of our small group of six people. You can tell, we did two tours priced at one! Minca Center, Pozo Azul, Finca la Victoria, Mirador los Pinos, Sierra Minca with hammocks, big hands, lunch... and Marinka waterfalls. Mr. Alfredo (born in Minca) was our super-guide who knew everything and everyone and everyone knew him in the Minca region. And especially the wise how to drive and take us safely on those "not so perfect" roads! Everything spectacular, Great recommendation, 100 / 100 points!
