Santa Marta and Tayrona National Park are two beautiful destinations on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Santa Marta is a lively city with warm weather, beautiful beaches, and a very interesting cultural atmosphere. Tayrona National Park is located near the city and is famous for its tropical forests, mountains, and beaches. The combination of nature and the sea creates such a peaceful environment that visitors will feel relaxed. The landscapes are so beautiful and diverse that they are perfect for enjoying nature. Visitors will have many activities to enjoy in Santa Marta and Tayrona. In Santa Marta, they will be able to walk around the historic center, visit the beach, and enjoy delicious Caribbean food. In Tayrona, they will hike through the forest, see different animals, and discover beautiful beaches such as Cabo San Juan. Visitors will also have the opportunity to swim, take photographs, and enjoy the natural scenery. I recommend visiting early because you will have more time to explore and enjoy the place. My experience in Santa Marta and Tayrona was unforgettable. When I visited these places, I was amazed by the beautiful landscapes and the warm atmosphere. I walked through the park, listened to the sounds of nature, and enjoyed the beaches. While I was exploring, I felt very happy because I was experiencing something different from my everyday life. The trip was special to me because I shared these moments with people I care about, and I will always remember the beauty of the Colombian Caribbean.

If you are looking for a tour that offers you a caribean beach you should book this tour. However, if you except like me to get a ton of information about the Park, Indigenous, Plants and Animals than you should definitely book a different tour. The beach/ocean is nice though but not what expected and hoped for.
The trip was selling a package it did not provide ! They advertised it has a snorkel tour which it wasn’t ! You had to rent the gear separately at an hourly rate ! I have been on many snorkel tours in Belize , Mexico and Cuba and the gear is not an extra but part of the package !
Playa Cristal is very beautiful and good for snorkeling. The only issue is that they don’t rent snorkels since the pandemic, you only get a mask so the experience is a bit less enjoyable. The guides were nice and the lunch was great as well.
We wanted to visit Taryona and Crystal beach. Tour only took us to Taryona even though we paid for the all included tours. Owner is very nice but…. He blamed us for having chosen wrong tour. The boat is fast but oh so uncomfortable. Packed like sardines and very hard to get on and off. Boat operators are not very useful. Taryona beach is nice .
A lot of hussle te get in, difficult for non spanish speaking people to get tickets. People at the counter were very unfriendly. Parc is really beautifull, but very very crowded (we were not there in the weekend nor high season), so no birds or other animals. First beach is much better then the adviced Cabo st Juan. Don't bother to walk another 30/45 minutes to get there. It s extremely crowded there. Conclusion: just a beautiful but expensive hike and swim!
The views are absolutely beautiful. The beach itself is limited and not the nicest The guides, Julio and Vello, were lively and very nice as well as informative. The whole tour to us was a bit overwhelming. A lot of time is wasted on getting the entrance bands and foreign tax. The whole trip you are bombarded with costs for this or that additional offers, like snorkeling which has a cost of $45.000 pesos for 30 minutes or $50.000 pesos for a covered area with 4 plasic chairs). Once you get to Playa Crystal you place your food order. If you choose the snorkel option, it's another time consuming event to sign in and get life jacket and face mask. Pictures are an additional cost and so on. We felt there was to much administrative things to do before we could finally rest and enjoy the ocean. Expect tourist prices like $5.000 pesos for a water bottle.
Terribly filthy and overrated. Even found sanitary pads in the water. Everything on the beach expensive with no reason. Avoid at any cost.
They told us to respect the park, to gather our garbage, they told us that music is prohibited in order to protect nature... Words, just words... I never saw so much garbage in the sea, music was everywhere and everything was so dirty. Bathrooms were just a nightmare and food was disgusting. I've been in many other similar places around the world, Costa Rica, Panama, Zanzibar, but nothing was like that. It's a sin because this place will be destroyed in 10 years.
This was a great day at the beach. Our hotel pickup was timely as were the events of the day & the drop off. The beach was beautiful and the waters perfect. As expected, food & activities were slightly overpriced, but both were delicious! As English speakers with only beginning to mid- level Spanish skills, it was difficult to understand and be certain what was going on. My advice would be to make a friend or two on the ride and when in doubt, ask your friend. Overall, we had a blast!
We had an excellent and relaxing day on the beach. It was the perfect experience. If you want to go make sure you wake up early. It was worth it. Excellent views.
It was very nice, the pick up was comfortable. But remember, that foreign people need to pay a fee to get in.
The beach was increíble! All the way till reach the beach was well-explained with stories! I really recomend 3 things! 1 order a coco-loco (a mix of rum & aguardiente + coconut watter). 2 bring with you some snacks! A snack there is too expensive. 3 take all the staff back with you.
We had a perfect day! The bus picked us up at the hotel, we had a magnificent drive through the forest with great views and after a great trip with a boat we ended up on a perfect beautiful beach! Everything was organized perfectly. It is great that the guides take care of the formalities at the entrance. We did not speak enough Spanish to understand the important messages by the guides but luckily there was a couple that could translate for us. All in all we had a terrific day!
A paradise beach: a perfect day! Aquamarine seas, lush green mountains, golden sand, barbecued fish: I was in heaven.
Everything was excellent! Highly recommended!
A wonderful experience, we had accompaniment the whole time, the guides were very kind, empathetic, and fun, the logistics and organization were excellent. Totally recommended. Thank you very much!!!
It's beautiful to be a day or two, spectacular and economical, you see the fish on the same beach
Excellent service, communication and punctuality. 100% recommended. They are attentive to you from day before services and support you in whatever you need 😉 . Recommended to 100.
Beach with crystal clear waters, quiet, no street vendors, many restaurants with good food at affordable prices, good experience with the guides, viewpoint stop for photos, do not recommend snorkeling, little fauna, different corals and some fish, excellent communication with guides, almost on time instead of pickup.
Late departure of the excursion, not nice guide, very old bus. The beach is quite commonplace, just armchairs, the restaurants are all the same.the toilets are terrible
Hi! The experience was excellent! The lords in charge were very friendly. The information that is exposed along the way pays to the knowledge of the place
Disappointing experience. The tour lasts 11 hours overall, but the actual time you spend at the beach is about 2.5 hours. The rest of the time is wasted in transportation and various waits. We strongly advise against being persuaded to pay a surcharge to visit the second beach. Time is so short that it is best to enjoy only Playa Cristal.
Beautiful beaches, unforgettable sunsets, charming places to enjoy, the sea is warm, a delight to walk the beaches...
The tour complies with the itinerary, it must be borne in mind that Peruvians and Ecuadorians can enter Tayrona Park with the national fare and they do not say that in the tour, I had to tell them what they did not refuse, but it is good to inform it to avoid suspicion because it is the guides who pay all the tickets. I requested to pay by card, the advance was made by a link all right, but the balance wanted to collect me at all times with additional commission, I had to give all my cash to avoid more problems. Additionally I requested the tour tickets, apparently they do not give it because the guide told me that the tickets were the wristbands (haha) well, that is it. I'm still waiting for a ballot response, no response.
Visiting Tayrona National Park was easily one of the best moments of my trip to Colombia. The beaches here are absolutely stunning: think golden sands, crystal clear waters and lush green mountains as a backdrop. It was like entering a tropical paradise. Cabo San Juan, in particular, is the most popular beach, and for good reason. It is a small walk to get there (about 2 hours from the main entrance), but the trip is worth every step. The trail takes you through dense forests with occasional glimpses of the ocean, and the sound of birds and nature around you makes it an experience in itself.
Beautiful landscapes. The guides very attentive, formal and helpful. They offer several dishes on the menu and also for vegetarians.
Very delii everything, we left from the marina of Santa Marta during the journey give drinks, snacks and lunch... super important hahah we were all day in the sea and back we saw the sunset, the best Santa Marta has without any doubt!!!
Good advice to choose the destination indicating for our family, a great experience, punctuality and very good guides which told us a little more of the history of our destination
Superb beach that is worth the trip with our 2 young daughters. Transport and very well organized. The friendly guides.
The road to Santa Marta was very difficult. From there we took a boat to Crystal Beach. For an hour I broke my back with the huge waves. I understood that these waves are constant. The beach itself is beautiful. Everything costs and no little. Bad Colombian food.
Playa Cristal is the evocation of paradise, its clear waters reflect that there are clean and very natural spas. It is an unmissable plan when you visit Santa Marta and yearn only to find peace and find a lot of silence 🏖️🌊.
Overall I really enjoyed the experience. The guides are very friendly and passionate when commenting on Tayrona Park and the beach we visited. Silver Crystal is very nice, the water is crystal clear, one swims with fish around. The coral area is beautiful, it has great variety. I loved the coral fan, a delight to see. Spectacular for children because there is no strong wave. Something that I think is great is that the prices of the whole beach are unified, so they can not overcharge you. In addition there are no tiresome vendors who chase you all over the beach, in general the attention is friendly and respectful. The only thing that would improve would be the logistics of collection. It's unclear when they come close. They told me to be in the park the bride and groom at 7:15, but picked me up on another street at almost 8am. So I was waiting a long time standing on a street with my daughter. All the rest, super.
They provided us with excellent service, with a very good guide who gave the explanations. Super punctual. And as for Playa Cristal, it is a setting of great natural beauty; You can do an activity to see the corals. We loved everything!
The best thing was sleeping at the Hostal Olas Club in Neguanje and going early to the crystal beach, comfortable rooms with air conditioning and private bathroom
It was spectacular, highly recommended, I went with my family and we had a lot of fun, the fish was delicious and the beaches were very clean.
The park is definitely something beautiful, a place to see before you die, the beaches that we cross on the tour are wonderful.
I love it!! You should not miss the snorkeling activity, calm waters, vegetation, tranquility, all the beaches of Tayrona have their charm.
We had a wonderful tour of Tayrona Park, with all the support in hiring and incredible options!
The destination is fantastic, but I want to highlight the friendliness of the team that took us there. Even though we are not Spanish speakers, we had a lot of fun with the Meio guide's relaxed manner. The only caveat is that they didn't leave us at the hotel on the way back, but put us in a taxi they paid for. For a foreign tourist, this creates a bit of insecurity, especially since the taxi was in poor condition. However, it seems that this is the general state of taxis in Santa Marta. Finally, Agência Travesia Pro sent us a message to see if we had arrived at the hotel safely. It was a good experience.
Punctual Excellent guide El Mello Comfortable, safe and fast transportation. They care about environmental protection.
I went with the Tamacá hotel agency. 💯% recommended. If you don't like fish, they will sell you something with chicken for lunch. The drink is not included. People who suffer from something are not recommended to go. I liked one of the beaches, so much that I felt like I was in paradise. I do not recommend that you choose a boat, it leaves you at a certain point and from there you have to pay for transportation to take you home. Another recommendation is: bring plenty of water, a sweat towel, a sun hat and a bathing suit. This beach is great for bathing in the sea, that is, cooling off. There are plenty of places to take photos right there.
El mejor momento es la vista maravillosa del Mirador de 7 olas y el haber disfrutado de la playa cristal donde el agua estaba limpia y de un color verde con cambios de colores de acuerdo a la luz del sol
We hired the tour to Playa Cristal for 6 people. It is best to bring your own food for a light lunch. As for the agency, with Travesia we did very well. Highly recommended. Serious, responsible, punctual, reliable.
Excellent, Vilma and Mello were special and the tour was spectacular. The guide and the accompaniment to the walk in Playa Cristal was magical and I would return without hesitation with this agency.
Great experience!! The guide told us historical data and curiosities about Santa Marta. Playa Cristal is a beautiful place 🥰 In general the tour was well organized, they picked us up and took us to the hotel, I liked that too 😎
Excelente la puntualidad. Todos se cumplió según lo planeado. Pero me hubiera gustado que el autobús fuera más cómodo.
Wonderful place, the crystal beach is magnificent. I loved the wildness of the place surrounded by incredible mountains. We were lucky enough to go in the week and there weren't that many people, I'll come back to this place. The only bad thing was that they usually had to pick me up at the hotel and they never came, they called me 5 minutes before the departure time saying that I had to grab a taxi to a certain point to grab the bus of the excursion, that was not marked anywhere at the time I made the reservation, of course they never refunded the taxi...
The beach is beautiful, you have to go. In our case we were picked up by the hotel, taken to a beach and from there by boat to Cristal beach. The bad experience was with the person who picked us up from the Marine Taxi Enterprise The night before the trip he sent us a message saying the time passed and that he could not bring water or coke, or food. Which we thought was strange. Turns out he offered you the water and coke sale on the transport. A Chantada, which I report to the agency.
