Full-day Catamaran Tour Through Tayrona

Wasn’t a catamaran like it says in the description…but was upgraded to a nice faster boat (not catamaran). Our boat was definitely faster as other boats that departed from the same dock and went to the same locations left prior to my group and I but our group would be the first to get there by at least 15-20 mins. Tour guide was awesome as he’d kept checking in on each party during the 2 hours at each beach. He even informed everyone on his tour to make sure you ask for a menu or to see prices before ordering as the bars/restaurants will upcharhe tourists who don’t ask to take advantage.

My friends & I booked this excursion and we're super excited. The day of they told us, something was wrong with the catamaran & we would need to go on a sailboat instead. My fiancé who has bad motion sickness is typically fine on cararmans. They told us they would refund us the difference in price since the catamaran was more. They never issued the refund. We gave it about a week and half then reached out to them, and it has been radio silence from them. The next step is to just show the proof to trip advisor. The trip itself was fine. The route was super rocky on the boat. At times we were completely tilting the entire boat from side to side practically. Oh it also started 2 hours later than when our catamaren. Instead of starting at 9am they told us to come at 11 and we left at 11:30. So not the 8 hours that was advertised. The crew was nice. The beach is wonderful. Hate giving bad reviews especially for a small business in another country. Just not happy with the lack of response & responsibility of this company.

We booked our tour on TripAdvisor, we hear nothing from these guys. Ok, contact them on WhatsApp to make sure everything is confirmed, the guy is asking me "what boat did you book " I sent him a picture of the boat... He says "What day?" I send him the day.... Then he sends me a cut and paste message of pricing options..... Ummmm ok..... So I find a different number. This person tells me that the boat we booked is not in service. Thanks for letting me know? I had to chase these guys down to find this information... Thank god I didnt rely on this company and the ticketing, because we would have ruined an entire day of our vacation waiting on them to cancel our plans last minute. (after further research, this has happened to several other people as well).

Great crew, beautiful beach, beautiful boat. Overall I highly recommend! Great combination of boat experience and beach relaxing.

There was a last minute change in the activity by the operator. I was supposed to receive a partial refund but never received it :(

Misleading trip description....it was a one stop trip to a beach where you stayed for 5 hours, whilst we were expecting a tour around the park and maybe dropping anchor a few times for a snorkel and swim. The service was disappointing too . .Just a couple of paper cups of soft drinks on the boat and with lunch.

This was a wonderful day trip to enjoy an outstanding beach surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. The crew were super friendly and supported us really well, though it was an all Spanish-speaking crew on our sailing, so it helped a lot that my wife and I speak Spanish and could also help make sure that the other passengers fully understood. The trip to and from the bay was stunningly beautiful and we were very comfortable on the catamaran even though it was quite windy in the morning. The fresh fish for lunch was fantastic, and it was very neat to see the crew catching the fish for us as we cruised along. We ate on the beach rather than on the boat, so don't forget to bring your sunscreen to shore (or ask the crew to bring it when they go back and forth). The beach wasn't crowded and the vendors were walking around but not pushy or any negative behavior. We had an amazing day and this catamaran cruise was a great way to experience a little bit of Tayrona National Park from the sea.

This was not actually a "tour" there was no guide, just the crew on the boat. The boat leaves the marina and goes straight to the bay. There is no guide, no one speaking or telling you where we are going or passing or anything. You go straight to the bay and stay there, have lunch and options to paddle board and snorkeling. Then back to the boat and straight back to the marina. Get off the boat and go home, no sunset on the boat or anything like that explained in the itinerary What is explained in the Itinerary is not what We expected. Please read and research if you expect more on this trip. 1st of all the crew of guys were very nice and helpful, they get 5 stars but the tour only 3. From the pictures that was shown here on TripAdvisor it showed you visiting the Tayrona forest but you only go to the bay and stay there. In my opinion, It is not worth the money. I have been on Catamaran tours before and this was noting like what was explained in the itinerary.

Exiting and cool experience going by sailing catamaran ⛵️ The crew was very polite and nice. The beach and surroundings are beautiful. 🏖🏖 We hit on a Sunday, I don't know if that is more popular than other times, but it doesn't felt overcrowded. Even though there was 30-40 other boats at the same time. Snorkeling was appreciated. Heading back, we sat sail, and had a smooth sailing back to Santa Marta Room for improvement... the company(?) Renting sunbeds was not very nice. One price when we arrived and double up when we should pay. If sunbeds has been included, this had been avoided. On a another comment on this trip, it seemed like the link for Google maps, for meeting point was wrong, this is now correct.

I took my mom on this trip for her 60th birthday and it was truly a blast. The crew was very friendly and attentive - making the trip so special. We went to Bahia Concha which surpassed our expectations: we were situated in a more secluded part of the beach which made it feel like a private experience. White sand beach, blue waters, and gorgeous mountain views of Tayrona Park. We settled under a shady tree and spent the afternoon swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying a delicious grilled fish caught that day, with a side of rice and salad.

This experience was amazing I met some really great people on board the food that was served was excellent and the staff were very nice. I got some amazing pictures!!!

It was a lovely day! However, the start was stressful as the meeting point indicated on Viator has incorrect coordinates on google maps! It would be easier to tell people to meet at the Marina at a specific location. It would also be helpful to let people know that it could be a bit of a bumpy ride if you suffer from sea sickness and to compile a list of ‘what to bring’ such as a towel, swim shoes, money to pay for chairs, sunbeds or beers on the island.

we should see Tayrona park but it was closed because "religious cleaning rubbish"??? why don't you informe turists about it ?!?!! santa marta is expensive and not worth to see

Wonderful day! So beautiful so much fun! The crew is so amazing and so helpful. Everyone was so kind! It was very calm relaxing day, many beautiful views.

The tour was ok, crew very professional. Tour should be little longer so one can really enjoy sunset on the boat. Everything else good.

Very windy start at the Marina but we flew on the waves with pros and friendly staff ! A DAY TO REMEMBER! Friendly staff and very kind, our group was diverse and fun The lunch (we chose the ceviche ) was yummy / perfect No complain whatsoever! WE HAD A BLAST!

Pleasant ride, very delicious lunch and plenty of snacks, the beach and the snorkeling and water, clarity were underwhelming, possibly as a result of many recent rains, it being the rainy season.

The tour was amazing. Our captains made the experience super enjoyable. I was really excited to snorkel and they knew exactly where all the fish were! The food was amazing as well.

This was a very nice catamaran. The staff were amazing. I highly recommend it. I should have brought water shoes as the beach areas were natural not raked/maintained. The ride back had more waves which was fun. If you get dizzy, take meds prior.

I had a wonderful experience. Except the lunch. Unfortunately I got sick from the ceviche. But I loved the service on the beach and the crew was great. I got jump off the front of boat and sail on my future dream boat. The rain ruined sunset but otherwise great affordable excursion.

My family of 4 had the pleasure of spending a day in Santa Marta/Tyrona National Park on this beautiful catamaran. It was definitely the highlight of this portion of our vacation. The boat was great and we really enjoyed riding on the trampolines, the crew was nice and very eager to please and the lunch provided was delicious. They were even able to accommodate our family's vegetarian diet. We also met some wonderful people on this tour. Highly recommended!!

The whole experience was great. Every single crew member made us feel welcome. The seviche was delicious. The communication before and during the sailing was exceptional. The sailing was espectacular.

Very enjoyable trip with a comfortable catamaran. I can not say enough good things about the Captain and crew. They were courteous, informative and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Excellent experience. I traveled with my daugther and the crew was making sure we had a good experience; food, snorkeling, paddle boarding… excellent!

We took this tour because we expected to sail around the coast of Santa Marta (as Tayrona was closed). Captain wanted to drop us off on a tiny beach for hours without shade. Barely sailed around and the sails were not used. Also unsafe. As I was laying in the net in front, the captain sailed into heavy waves without a warning. Ended up almost falling into the sea. Dangerous situations as a result. Captain was unfriendly. Other staff was okay. Lunch was okay but not great.

The crew were excellent! So attentive and keen to make sure everyone was happy, fed and watered. Lunch and a plentiful supply of drinks and snacks, were great. I personally didn’t love the beach itself … have been to dozens of much nicer ones. Please note if you want to sit down on the beach you’re expected to pay for a chair (not a sun Lounger, a basic chair) . I found this disappointing within the context of a tour, given that lunch was served and especially for the price paid.

Really nice way to spend the day out on the water - the catamaran is excellent, all the crew were excellent, and the beach was also excellent! Plenty of drinks available to purchase, the lunch was really good too - you can also get other drinks, massages etc on the beach from local vendors. You can also use the paddle boards, snorkel amongst others. Would highly recommend this trip and crew! Mark, Ireland

Magical as always is our second time that if, the area I recommend is the Rodadero, the best beach many places to choose to do excursions, I recommend the sailboat to Cocha beach belonging to Tayrona Park, excursion to Playa Blanca and unmissable visit to Palomino, is an excursion to the Don Diego River, where at its mouth meets the sea, the river despite coming down from Sierra Nevada the water to bathe is hot.

We had an absolutely superb day at Bahia Concha in Tayrona Park! The catamaran transport was a charm and decorated with several snacks distributed by the staff. Also a delicious lunch at lunch! Very nice experience with Velero!

An excellent plan for all ages, sailing on the shores of the beach and knowing all its beautiful landscapes is a great experience.

My friend and I took our daughters, 8th and 9th, on this tour and had a great time. It was a fun experience, we could appreciate part of Tayrona Park, enjoy one of its beautiful beaches, practice snorkeling and share with people of other nationalities. Captain "Fat", brother-in-law and Angel took great care in all aspects: punctuality, security, animation, recommendations and attention to our doubts and needs. The delicious food, we tasted a delicious watermelon, not missing the water and snacks..... the impeccable catamaran, the bathrooms very well maintained and everything very clean. I recommend it

Will it not be available again? I remember going a while ago and I want to relive the experience with my family, it was great
