One of the best trips we've done in Colombia. I was lucky enough to get the one ebike so the only hill we did was a breeze. Hiked to a quiet beach to snorkel. The hike was very hot so take plenty of sunscreen. Saw birds and plants on the way. Cold beer on our arrival was really welcome. The trip said kayaking and lunch weren't included, but they were. We kayaked back from the beach to our bikes and had a fish lunch before biking back. Our guide was great. There were 4 of us, he said sometimes there's only 2.

Known for its delicious stuffed arepas, this popular spot has become a culinary symbol of Santa Marta. Loved by both locals and tourists, it offers a true taste of Colombian cuisine.
This vibrant market is the heart of local life, where you can experience the true essence of Santa Marta. With a history as old as the city itself, the market is famous for its fresh fruits, seafood, and local produce. It’s a melting pot of cultures and traditions.
The winding road to Taganga offers stunning views of the bay and the Caribbean Sea. Known for its scenic beauty, it leads to the peaceful fishing village of Taganga, a place that has retained its charm despite the growth in tourism.
Taganga is a charming fishing village just a few kilometers from Santa Marta. Known for its laid-back vibe and excellent diving and snorkeling spots, Taganga has kept its traditional appeal. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood straight from the sea to their plates at local restaurants.
These hidden beaches near Taganga are true paradises, accessible only by boat or trail. Each beach offers crystal-clear waters and soft sands, perfect for those seeking tranquility and a close connection with nature. Playa Grande is the most popular, but others like Genemaca and Sisiguaca offer a more private and exclusive experience.
Founded in 1525, Santa Marta is Colombia's oldest city. Its Historic Center is a treasure trove of colonial architecture, with cobblestone streets and buildings that tell stories of centuries past. The area is home to the Cathedral Basilica and other historical sites, making it a perfect place for history lovers to explore

Biking, hiking, snorkling, seeing Santa Marta is diverse places, swimming in clear water with nice beaches
The guide was amazing. Explained everything along the way. No need to be a top tear athlete to do this trip but some physical streanggt is needed for the bike portion.
What an amazing experience! I had the pleasure of being guided by Gabriel. I will admit I am quite fit with walking/hiking, but I had A LOT of difficulty biking up the hill to get to Taganga and back. It is completely uphill for an extended period of time, so I don't think that this would be easy for the average traveler. That being said, once I made it to Taganga I got to take in beautiful views, hike, snorkel and kayak. This was such a fun day to end my trip to Santa Marta. Such a unique and exciting experience. The tour included breakfast, tropical fruits (snacks), lunch, coffee, biking equipment and an english-speaking guide. Gabriel was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and he made me feel safe throughout our trip. I would definitely recommend this tour and him as a guide. Thank you Gabriel and the Rent a Bike team!
This is a full package, but be warned that you should be somewhat an experience in bike riding and somewhat fit to ride up hill for 30+ min and hike up the hills for 30-45 min. You meet at the Rent A Bike shop in the town, a block down from Parque de los Nuvios to Carrera 4, shop is between Calle 19-20. Small shop, bike used are 26" 14-18 speed mountain bikes, needs some tuning but was ok. Tour guide Francisco was the awesome guy, very friendly and Speaks English well. You first tried out the bike then handed a large bottle of water and head out to north side of town with lots of markets, where you will stop to have a Arepa y huevo, unique breakfast, where arepa was cooked then put an egg in it then fried. It was very good. Then Francisco bought some bananas for the trip. Weaving through traffics, we headed up the hills, although lots traffics they were considerate and I didn't feel dangerous. My wife, a novice rider on flat ground was struggling to get up, Francisco stayed with her to go up and they ended up getting off the bike to walk up the hill. (I was thankful and this also gave me chances to rest up), down hill was nice in 90+ degree weather. We stop once to take a photo of Santa Marta, then another to view/pic of Taganga. Once at Taganga, we dropped the bike then hike up the hills to get to Playa Sisiguaca(?) which is past Playa Grande Taganga, more secluded and swimmable beach, water was clear and lots of fish to snorkel (Tour provided mask & snorkel). about twenty feet in water dropped off and became rocky but fishes were every where. I actually enjoyed more here than in Bahamas. Even in shallow area, you dropped some banana then you had a school of fish swamming you. After snorkel we head back to Playa Grande Taganga, then got on a kayak to Taganga for a nice fish meal (lunch provide but drink was not, I paid 23k pesos ($5.50) for 4 beers and a Pina colada). This trip, you get to try local foods, bike, hike, swim, snorkel, and kayak. It was well worth the cost, and I find it to be the best value for someone who enjoy various outdoor activities. Walter, the coordinator (owner?) was nice and communicated well using WhatsApp.
we lived an amazing experience; an incredible bike tour with breathtaking views; the walk on Playa Grande left us thrilled. The best adventure was snorkeling in the ocean, seeing beautiful fish. We enjoyed delicious local breakfast and lunch. The staff was extremely kind and fun - definitely the best! 100% recommended
The experience was great, they showed us a part of Santa Marta that we would not have been able to see without them. They were very accommodating and friendly, with effective tricks to attract fish while snorkeling. We loved the guides who worked to include us and ensured everyone was comfortable. However, if you are not in good health and used to exercise, this excursion may be more difficult for you. The hike is short but strenuous, especially in the summer heat.
David and the staff where so patient and also concerned about our staff and enjoyment. What an experience to bike, snorkel and Kayak all on one tour. I love all the information and history that David shared every step of the way. It takes a little endurance to do this day tour but trust me by the time you finish you will be so glad you did this!
We had a fabulous day with the help of our wonderful and extremely knowledgeable guide Oscar. To bike ( with e-bikes),hike on an awesome path, snorkel in some beautiful water and a nice kayak paddle was an amazing day of adventure. Thank You !!!
Amazing experience, good energy from the guide they really show how much they love this activities and the area, don’t lost this, good food also
This was the most wonderful expedition! I went with my daughter. It was just us 2 and 2 guides. We were looked after so well and it was the best fun. The bikes were really well maintained. We were given water, breakfast, lunch, icecreams, coffee.... everything was done at a pace that suited us perfectly. We snorkelled, found incredible fish, saw amazing views... biked, walked, swam, climbed, ate, drank... it was my 1st day in Colombia and set the bar really high for the rest of the trip. The guys were so relaxed and friendly. I couldn't recommend it highly enough!
It was a great experience!!! highly recommended :) Andres is the best guide! Thank you so much for this adventure! <3
This was one of those tours where you feel like you get to do it all! The bikes were in great condition and the ride had a bit of a city and country vibe. The bike, hike, snorkel, kayak and authentic, delicious food made for a spectacular full day of fun. Walter was kind, upbeat and generally engaged. It felt like he enjoyed the tour just as much as we did. I would highly recommend this fun packed day!
Our guide David was very knowledgeable of the area, was very patient and let us stop and take breaks during the hike. The views, snorkeling, and biking were all incredible! He took us to a delicious place for lunch as well. Was a great experience and we would love to do it again someday!
Walter and Sebastian were great hosts and we had a great day. We were on a cruise so could not commit to 8am start as ship only docked at 9am. Walter was there waiting for us and adapted the times so we could be back onboard in plenty of time. The ebikes were fun and made the hills a lot easier. Fantastic views! The kayaks however were brutal as we had to battle lively winds. We then enjoyed a great lunch of chicken or fish followed by a ebike ride back to Santa Marta. Thanks Guys!
Walter and his team are great host! In addition to the city tour on a bike in the evening, telling stories about the City, we went to the playa grande tour. We went biking (e-bikes) from Santa Marta to Taganga. There we enjoying the views, went on a kayak and then snorkiling. Had lunch in a local restaurant. Great experience, 100% recommended. Its a must if you go to Santa Marta.
Unbelievable. It exceeded my expectations. Start as if you were a local with a delicious traditional breakfast. Then we replenished ourselves with fruit at the market and that’s where the adventure began. I'm not very athletic so they gave a battery-powered support bike which made it super lightweight. My favorite part was the bathroom in Sisiguaca. And Raul, the best Guide I've ever had in my tour history.
It was so incredibly beautiful. Just that feeling on the e-bike. It's so easy to get on with it. The first stop for breakfast. Mega delicious. Unfamiliar, unconventional, and yet perfect. These wonderful coves, the beach and the views. Due to too much wind it was not possible to go canoeing (which I personally found better).... And then snorkel that. All around gigantic. That's all I can do. Oh yes, go; When you have such a wonderful guide as Sebastian and a reception from Walther. Both live and feel it. Paradise.
The tour is very worth it, has the option to do with normal or electric bike (which allows anyone without experience or physical preparation to carry out). Cost benefit very good because there are several activities in addition to including the meal (typical local). The attention and care provided by the guide and owner Walter is very good, funny Cover is very helpful in explaining and assisting in everything that is necessary during the tour. I highly recommend booking a day for one of the tours offered by them, or just rent for a few hours one of the bicycles to take a tour of the city. Note 10
