Prime location, beautiful views and very convenient with the mall and the mall below and around. The beach is 100m along a sidewalk. The restaurant is not halal but there are multiple halal restaurants in the same building they will easily to breakfast to dinner for you. There is a musallah on the 1st floor. You can use the purple elevator to gain access to the musallah from the 4th floor parking. They have a pool and viewing deck. The have things to do for kids during the school holidays. They do host Many conferences and have parking, rooms service and WiFi. The service is good, they are well staffed. The price is very steep but I with the location it is expected. The loud cars at night does make it hard to sleep on weekends.

I am changing my rating for my stay at the Capital Pearl hotel in Umhlanga from a 1 to a 4 overall as I would like to provide an update to my previous complaint regarding my stay at The Capital Pearls Hotel. Following my feedback, the hotel management contacted me personally the very next day, sincerely apologised for my experience, and took the time to listen to my concerns. They assured me that my comments would be used constructively to improve staff training and service standards, which I genuinely appreciated. As a thoughtful gesture, they also delivered a beautiful wine and snacks hamper to my room. Since then, I have noticed a clear commitment from the management team to making things right. It is encouraging to see a hotel that values guest feedback and is willing to learn from it rather than simply dismiss it. I would also like to mention that I have just enjoyed the lamb curry from the restaurant, and it was truly exceptional. Based on the way management handled the situation and their commitment to improving the guest experience, I am happy to acknowledge their professionalism and willingness to rectify the issues I encountered. Thank you to the management team for taking my concerns seriously and for demonstrating that excellent customer service is also about how a business responds when things don’t go as planned.
Just checked, in I am very impressed. My room came with full kitchen, stove, oven, full size fridge. Also has a washer and a dryer, and an iron, and a hairdryer(the last two are pretty standard but you often havs to request them.) I am impressed.
The place is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and modern. The location is perfect next to malls and restaurants. The staff is friendly and their breakfast is nice. I was just disappointed 😞 by house keep and their cleaning standards. There were dishes in the unit that were pack on the cupboards and they were dirty had to call reception to request for a clean plate to eat on. The table in my room I used to eat dinner on the previous night was not wiped. Wish someone can do checks after the rooms are serviced to verify that they were cleaned properly.
My recent stay at The Capital Pearls had a number of strong positives, but also some areas that need meaningful improvement. On the positive side, the accommodation itself is of a very good standard. The room was modern, comfortable, and particularly convenient for a family stay. The inclusion of a kitchenette and washing machine made a big difference, especially when travelling with a young child. Breakfast was another highlight. The offering was of a good standard, with a wide variety of options on the buffet. The live egg station and full spread met expectations, and the waitstaff were attentive and professional throughout. However, housekeeping was a clear weak point. The cleaning standard was inconsistent, and I had to follow up multiple times without resolution. It was only after going down to reception and raising the issue in person that any action was taken. Similarly, there were ongoing issues with basic room amenities. We were three guests (myself, my wife, and our 21-month-old daughter), yet were consistently provided with only two towels. Requests via housekeeping and the front desk were not addressed, and it was only after escalating the matter that this was corrected. For a significant portion of our stay, we had to share towels, which is not acceptable for a hotel of this calibre. Another area of concern was the “halal-friendly” positioning of the food. While this was mentioned at check-in, there was a lack of clarity and consistency from staff in the dining area. Different waiters and managers provided conflicting information, which created uncertainty and discomfort. As a result, we chose to stick to vegetarian options. There were also inconsistencies in how halal options were presented day-to-day, and I observed instances where utensils were shared between pork and non-pork items at the egg station. This undermines the halal-friendly claim and is an area that requires serious attention and clearer processes. On a more positive note, the kids’ entertainment was excellent. The Easter-themed activities were well put together, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed them. Shared facilities, including the pool, were also pristine and well maintained. One final point worth noting is the requirement to pay a daily deposit for pool towels and lounge beds. Although this was refunded each day, it felt out of place for a hotel of this standard. At a premium beach resort, one would expect these to be included as part of the overall offering. In summary, while the hotel offers great accommodation, strong breakfast service, and excellent family-friendly amenities, there are operational inconsistencies—particularly in housekeeping and food practices—that detract from the overall experience.
