Lorena was our guide and she was knowledgeable, funny, attentive to safety and very good with pictures! Although it was very windy, she adapted the tour so we could go to the main attraction, that was closed right after we left. Recommend the tour with my eyes closed!

The guides were great and the food at sunset was lovely. We didn’t find the tour very interesting and it was VERY busy with other tour groups which didn’t improve the experience. The weather wasn’t great which didn’t help our overall experience.
Amazing tour. Thanks to our wonderful tour guide Will Caio and his team. We had such a great time.
What an amazing tour!! This landscape and scenery is otherworldly. Though we weren't quite acclimated to the altitude, the hike was manageable and well worth it. Reasonable prices. Guide Cris & driver Andres were friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent refreshments were provided.,This tour exceeded all of our expectations. If in doubt- do it! You will not be disappointed. I only wish I could do it again.
Great tour company and guide Caio was enthusiastic, friendly and very knowledgeable. It's great to see when people have a passion for their work. Excellent snacks on sunset. Well presented and tasty. Thank you
It is an amazing tour! Our host Cris was fantastic. He was so friendly and explained so much about the area. We loved seeing the valley up close. The snacks provided exceeded our expectations!
They changed the pickup time of the tour on the same day in the morning, however I've only seen that it's not 2pm but 3pm now when we got back to our accommodation 10 mins before 2pm as I didn't have internet on my phone and I was on another tour in the morning... Same company changed the pickup time to one hour earlier for the next morning so it seems to be normal with Pukarumi. They gave a 40mins pickup range but only shared the order of pickup when they started picking people up. Surely this can be shared beforehand so people have a clue if they're towards the beginning or the end of the 40mins range. The guide was okay, but not fantastic, I would have liked more information to be shared about the location. The sunset is not in the Moon Valley though, it's an outside location (not just for this company). They had snacks and drinks which was nice, but the guide had no idea about my request for gluten free. I eat what I naturally could.
Honestly it’s a nice picnic with a ok sunset but it’s so incredibly slow. Note: this excludes the fact that the park’s website on mobile is just an awful design to surpass. 1. It takes nearly an hour to pick everyone up even touch the park isn’t that far away 2. Because it was busy we skipped the 40min hike…so a 4 hour trip was only two 5 min stops, a 15 min hike and a picnic The tour could be run a lot more efficiently by having people meet instead of wait for pickup. Also, smaller groups and tour guides should be focused on a single language or at least speak during the bus rides. Instead most of our time outside the bus was waiting on folks using the bathroom or the guide translating a lot of info. Now I will add a star for the fact that the picnic quality was solid even if the sunset was underwhelming. It’s ok to take this tour if you’re day 1 adjust to the elevation but beyond a glorified picnic, it leaves a lot to be desired.
Valle de la Luna is simply incredible! It was a wonderful experience and chance to see the incredible forms that nature can create in one afternoon as that was all the time I had! I particularly loved the bilingual format. It was much more than just a tour in two languages as it was a fun opportunity to learn some of the local language, almost like having a language class in the middle of the desert! The sunset was the perfect “icing on the cake” of the five hours trip, with delicious local specialities and a Pisco Sour, giving us another lovely insight into Chilean culture. None of this would have been quite the same without our great guide Anita, who was friendly and made even those of us travelling alone feel like we had a company! I really apreciate this. Our driver was also very kind. A truly memorable experience and definitely the best tour I had in Chile. Highly recommended for anyone curious to discover other countries, landscapes and cultures!
Exceptional vistas of moon-like dunes and rocky slopes on some nice short walks through the landscape, plus stunning views of the Andes volcanic peaks. Sunset viewing with pisco sours and lovely snacks. Very well guided.
The Valley of the Moon Stunning Sunset Tour completely lived up to its name, the views were out of this world! Anita was the sweetest and coolest guide we could have asked for. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kept us captivated with so many interesting facts about the landscape, history, and geology of the valley. Our driver Roland is a legend! He made the best guacamole we’ve ever tasted. The Sunset Spread: Watching the colors shift over the desert while enjoying a delicious charcuterie board loaded with local Chilean snacks, fresh fruits, and perfectly mixed pisco sours was sheer perfection. If you’re visiting San Pedro de Atacama, do not hesitate to book this tour. Unbeatable views, incredible food, and a top-tier team. 5/5 stars without a doubt!
Chris was an exceptional tour guide whose deep knowledge and vibrant passion made our trip truly unforgettable.
Our guide, Anita made our Valle de la Luna tour truly unforgettable. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, genuinely funny, and took amazing care of our whole group from start to finish. Beyond covering the main highlights, she took us to a few incredible secret spots away from the crowds. To top it all off, we ended the day enjoying a fantastic Pisco Sour. If you are visiting Valle de la Luna, ask for Anita. Highly recommend!
Moon Valley Tour was a highlight of my stay for two reasons.. the spectacular landscapes and the jovial nature of the guide Anita and driver Andreas! The walks, views, the information shared (in 3 languages) and the travellers also made for the best tour. Oh, and the sunset with a Pisco Sour with fabulous food finished off the evening perfectly. Thankyou Pukurumi
Our guide George was excellent. A real professional! He gave us a memorable day!
You will enjoy unique vistas and hear talking rocks!!!!! Our guide, Victoria, was charming, engaging and very knowledgeable. Victoria loves her job and the cultural components that make this place extra special. The sunset snacks and drinks are a perfect ending and VERY TASTY was everything! A+ BRAVA!
Andres was our tour guide again! He knew so much about the area, history, and geology. He kept us moving and timed everything perfectly. We got back and hour early. I would have liked a few more minutes at sunset after we ate for pictures but overall a fabulous tour. One criticism is that it would help to tell people the activity involved for this tour. I don’t expect an hour hike and didn’t wear the right clothes. Letting people know they will get very dirty and dusty would have helped us plan what to wear and what to bring. That being said, we loved the tour. The food on both our tours was very good. It had a wide variety of options and everything was very tasty! Thank you again to our awesome guide Andrea and driver Julio!
Excellent half day tour. The views were one of a kind. And thank you to my tour guide. She is wonderful. Wear shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting sand on.
This was a very enjoyable tour and, for me, the perfect way to finish a trip to the Atacama Desert. The walk through Valle de la Luna was relaxed and easy-paced (for me 😉 ), allowing plenty of time to appreciate the unique landscapes and take in the beauty of the area. It was a great contrast to some of the more demanding excursions in the region. Our guide, Brandon, was very friendly, cheerful, and approachable. He seemed to take the time to chat with every participant, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the tour. He provided interesting explanations about the valley and its geology while also making sure there was enough time for photos and simply enjoying the scenery. Brandon was always happy to help with pictures and even helped hold people's belongings during the windy sections of the tour so that nothing would get blown away. These small gestures showed how attentive and considerate he was. The tour ended with snacks while enjoying the spectacular surroundings, which was a lovely way to conclude the experience. Overall, this was a well-organized and relaxing tour with a great guide. I highly recommend it as a wonderful way to end your time in San Pedro de Atacama.
Had a great time exploring the moon valley. Our guide Andres was very friendly and helpful explaining things, taking pictures of everyone, allowing a relaxed pace while still keeping us on time - incidentally he ended up being our guide for several experiences which was great! Our driver was great too driving on difficult roads. The tour company is very systematic communicating pick ups very well too. Would definitely recommend them for this and their other tours. The snack set up was pretty elaborate and good too!
Francisco was a great guide and very knowledgeable. The table of snacks we got and Pisco sours was good too.
Andrés was an excellent guide; explained everything about the place and took care of all questions. He made our visit to Valle de la Luna unforgettable. Thanks!
Great tour, incredible landscape. Brilliant guide who was extremely knowledgeable and fun. Pukarumi were great, very organised and efficient. Would highly recommend.
Great tour and an amazing experience overall. Valle de la Luna truly lives up to its name — the landscapes felt surreal and unlike anywhere we’ve been before. Watching the sunset over the desert was absolutely beautiful. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the tour was very well organised. A must-do when visiting San Pedro de Atacama.
Very well organized, very complete experience. Enjoyed it a lot, the guide Francisca was great and her knowledge about everything about valle de la luna was very intreasting , the food was great.
They are the best from the time I made the reservation to the drop off Everhing was perfect . I highly recommend .
Our second tour with Pukarumi. Very well organised, good communication, guide and driver. Really worthwhile trip to see Valle de la lune and climb the Duna Major. Followed by cocktails and snacks and beautiful sunset at Mirador Chaxi.
Great guide - George. He was interesting and keen to teach us things and provide a fun tour for us. Safe driver. Pukarumi are a well organised company to book tours with. The snack and pisco sour was great - so much food, it was like a snack buffet with fruit, cheese, dips, salami, cakes and biscuits. The sunset at Valle de la luna was beautiful. It was very busy with lots of other tourists and tour groups all in the same spot at the same time for sunset. The other stops were not as interesting in my opinion, but other people really enjoyed them.
Had a beautiful time at Valle de la Luna!! Our guide Lolo was awesome and funny and very knowledgable and the driver Julio was super nice too! Would def do it again! :)
What an afternoon, great communication, pick up and informative conversation as we experienced the luna landscape.
A great afternoon trip. Stopping at Amphitheater - a small hike to the top but worth it, salt mine and 3 Marys. Rocio was an excellent guide as was Franco the driver. Very knowledgeable and ready to answer our numerous questions! A great atmosphere with amazing views of the moon valley and a cocktail and snacks while watching the sunset! It is highly recommended.
What I thought this tour was is actually the Valley of the Moon in Bolivia. For the looks of it, the Bolivia location is more visually appealing. So make sure you note the difference before you book. It was still a good time and Anita is amazing! Friendly, welcoming, insightful and she made it fun.
Excellent tour with Franco (good explanation in English, good sense of humour, great snack).
Covers a lot of different sites in the valley, the sunset is beautiful but you don't get much time at each place and it is pretty busy with other tours. The tour is useful if you don't have a car and want some more info from the guides.
Spectacular desert landscape. Short hike to lookout with 360 degree views of high mountains, rocky cliffs, enormous sand dunes and vast salt fields. Excellent, spirited guide. Generous cocktail and snacks.
Had a lovely half day sunset tour with Anita - she was very engaging and fun so we all enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend!
Great tour, Anita was enthusiastic and gave us lots of history classes! Agency is very well organised! Anita and Pato were great and prepared an amazing spread and cocktails for us for sunset time!
It was a very good trip. Interesting views. Lovely food served right before sunset.
Genuinely thought this tour would have been better. We got in and out of the tour bus, did a short hike, but otherwise didn't get to walk around the grounds very much. The sunset spot was cool and we enjoyed that, but overall it wasn't that enjoyable. Wish we would have gone on our own.
We had a great experience with pukarumi travel and our guide George made it exceptional. He informed us so well about the landscape and history, while having a sense of humor, which makes the tours with him more fun. He did his best for us to beat the crowd and enjoy the beauty of the Valley just with our group. I would definitely recommend booking tours in San Pedro with them, and it's even better with George as your guide!
We booked all our tours through Pukarumi Travel as we were impressed with previous reviews. There was lots of info supplied in advance of the tour telling us what time to be ready and what to bring along. We had our first tour today to the Valle de La Luna and I have to say we were very happy with it! Victoria was our guide and Jordan was our driver. They were very friendly and helpful and the tour itself was excellent. Nicely paced and wonderful scenery. The picnic was fun and nice to have time to get to know the other people sharing the van with us! Looking forward to our next tour tomorrow!
It was a nice trip, but unfortunately the vehicle was extremely hot. The air conditioning was supposedly on but it was unacceptable. Several people complained. I felt really sick and was unable to participate in a few of the stops. The guide, Victoria, was lovely and I enjoyed the scenery but you cannot advertise an air conditioned vehicle if it is cooler outside than it is inside.
George, our guide, and Jordan, our driver, were exceptional hosts. From start to finish, they were friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and solicitous. We had the feeling that they knew exactly how to avoid the crowds and timed everything perfectly. We learned a lot from George’s narration on the trip, and his English translations were spot on, so we never felt like we missed out on any information. They also provided delicious food and drinks. The Atacama Moon Valley was one of two tours we took with the Puka Rumi tour company, and we thoroughly enjoyed both. We HIGHLY recommend this tour, and we would take any other tours they offer without hesitation. Thank you for making one of our three days in Atacama a memory that will last a lifetime!
Beautiful tour with knowledgeable and friendly guide. The moon valley at sunset is absolutely stunning. Recommended!!
Anita was great. She was friendly and helped me get to the bathroom often as I was 5 months pregnant. I really appreciate her as a guide. She also made the trip fun and was very positive. Thanks Anita!
Anita and Andres were spectacular! A must-see fantastic, fun GREAT tour!!! Snacks were nice and the sensé was marvelous!
This tour was definitely worth it. I honestly wish it was a little longer. The terrain was very unique!
Valle de la Luna is so beautiful and pictures do not do it justice. The vastness of this desert has me in awe and the colors through the afternoon got prettier and prettier. Our guide, Anita, was exceptional. She knew all about the area, the history, geology and was so fun. Her laugh was infectious. Our entire group was very engaged and warm. At the conclusion of the tour, Anita and the driver fixed a lovely spread including orange juice or Pisco Sours. We also had the best guacamole I think I’ve ever had (the same is true for the other tours we took with Pukarumi). We had a variety of foods and were able to get to know everyone more personally. I highly recommend this company! Everything we have done with them has been top notch.
Our guide, Brando, was pretty cool and made the tour enjoyable. Their pickup system is very well organized. Everyone is added to a group chat where they share the bus’s live location, so it’s easy not to miss the pickup. The first stop is a restroom break, followed by a 45-minute hike. After that, we visited the Tres Marías statues, a salt mine, and then stopped for snacks. The snack stop had lots of options, including chips, cookies, chicken nuggets, juice, pisco sour, and plenty of sauces. There’s another restroom stop before the final highlight at the sunset viewpoint. One small thing to note: there is an entrance fee that must be paid separately, either in cash at the office or by requesting a payment link through WhatsApp.
