Very informative and fun. Hotel pickup was prompt. We enjoyed the appetizers during the presentation. Great to get a chance to use the telescopes. Guides are very passionate about what they do and see to really enjoy sharing their knowledge.

Jonathan and Hugo provided a very special and memorable night for us! We knew from other reviews that we were in for a good time. But the experience exceeded those expectations, as we were treated to an education on star formation and life cycle. The observation of celestial objects built progressively over the time there, ending with a wonderful climax. I won't spoil the details, but it was all very well done! For visitors reading this, I suggest allowing yourself a couple days margin of error if possible. Our original booking date had to be canceled on the day of as the weather forecast did not cooperate, with cloudy skies. Fortunately we were here for an extra day and night in case that happened, and they were able to reschedule us for the following night. It worked out for the best as we ended up being treated to perfectly clear skies and a beautiful experience. Highly recommend to all visitors to San Pedro to Atacama!

Our guide was superb the experience was fantastic. But maybe too long waiting around. Eg while one group were looking through the telescopes maybe the other group could have their pictures taken?

Yes. The colour of a star mainly tells us about its surface temperature. Blue and blue-white stars are the hottest, white stars are also very hot, yellow stars such as our Sun are intermediate, while orange and red stars are cooler. Colour can also help astronomers understand a star’s type and, together with other observations, its stage of evolution. Our original 10 p.m. tour was moved to an earlier time after the previous booking was cancelled. The driver collected us punctually from our hotel, then picked up an Australian family before taking us to an incredibly dark observing site. We received a very warm welcome and were seated comfortably while our guide introduced us to the night sky. He was professional, knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic, explaining everything clearly and making astronomy fascinating and easy to understand. We learned about the Milky Way, stars, nebulae, star clusters and dwarf stars. He also explained why stars appear in different colours and how their colours give us clues about their temperatures, with blue stars being hotter and red stars cooler. It was fascinating to realise how much information can be discovered simply by observing the light from a star. Our guide also took wonderful individual and family photographs for us, with the Milky Way, Moon, Venus and stars providing spectacular natural backdrops. The highlight was looking through the telescopes. Seeing the Moon, Saturn and its rings, stars and other celestial objects directly with our own eyes rather than on a screen was absolutely fabulous. It was amazing to realise that what we were seeing was actually there in the sky above us. Our sincere appreciation goes to our guide for sharing his knowledge, expertise and passion for astronomy so generously. His friendly manner, thoughtful explanations, patience and attention to everyone made the evening particularly enjoyable and meaningful. It was much more than a stargazing tour. It was a wonderful astronomy lesson, an unforgettable experience and a reminder to appreciate the Earth, our environment and our place in this vast universe. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved "The roofless experience" in the Atacama Desert! It was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. We discovered so many things about the night sky that we had never known before. The sky was absolutely breathtaking, filled with countless stars, and Jonathan, our guide, gave us fascinating and very professional explanations throughout the evening. We also had the opportunity to look through a telescope and see celestial objects and phenomena we had never seen before. We took beautiful photos with the incredible night sky in the background, and even enjoyed some delicious snacks during the experience. The whole tour was truly special, fascinating, and immersive. It was definitely one of the experiences we remember most from our time in the Atacama Desert. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Atacama. It’s something you shouldn’t miss!

Great experience. Jhonathan and team clearly care and are passionate about stargazing. We were able to learn about the southern skies, observe the skies through telescopes (seeing Saturn and its rings was a highlight) and take some amazing photos (and learn how to better utilise our phone cameras!). The tour starts very late but it’s worth the wait to see a very dark sky. Saw many shooting stars too - very special!

Great experience with lots of cool learnings and photo shoots and food and wine! If you are doing this in August, be sure to wear ultra thick as it gets freezing cold!!

The experience was great! The photos were well done, they tried to get through it quickly for a large group but ensured everyone got a good photo to be happy with at the end of the experience. The drink + snack board was a great touch while we were learning more from Jhonathan educating us before we dove into the telescope viewing. We saw so many different things and he always explained and helped ensure we could see what we needed to. Definitely recommend the experience!

We cannot rate the experience highly enough. From start to finish, Jonathon put so much effort into making the night as magical as possible. The sky itself was beautiful, but everything was so thought through on the tour that it made the experience perfect. Jonathon and his wife went to extra care to ensure our allergies were taken care of and that my partner was kept safe. The snack boards were delicious, as was the wine. Jonathon is clearly very passionate and extremely knowledgeable. It was a privilege to be able to listen to him speak about the stars and learn so much whilst gazing at the beautiful views. Each of us got plenty of time to use the telescopes, it wasn’t rushed and Jonathon wanted to make sure that we had all seen everything. The whole night ran seamlessly. It was magic and memorable from start to finish.

This was my favorite activity in Atacama and we went on four different tours! From the moment I stepped out of the van and looked up I knew I was in paradise. Being able to observe the Milky Way with the naked eye is a priceless experience, and that coupled with wine, snacks, and professional photos makes this a no brainer. Jhonathan and Jhonathan were both amazing, knowledgeable tour guides who imparted so much fun knowledge about astronomy and chemistry to our group. Thanks to them we were able to even observe some constellations!. If you're a space aficionado, this tour is an absolute must.

I did this experience with Jonathan who is extremely knowledgeable about astronomy and did an excellent job highlighting the stars, constellations, and galaxies in the sky over the Atacama desert. It was a very small group with 3 people which gave it a very personal feel.

One in a lifetime experience! Words can’t describe how amazing it was. Beautiful place and atmosphere, magical views… Jonathan was so sweet, friendly and passionate about his job and in providing the best experience for us. Seriously, just go!!!

Jonathan was a very enthusiastic guide. We loved his enthusiasm . We spent about an hour learning to take photos of the sky with our phones. Then we looked at stars in two telescopes. It was freezing. My recommendation is to wear tons of layers, a hat and gloves and be prepared to freeze. The only thing I would have liked is more instruction on the constellations before spending hours looking at stars in the telescopes. The food was a charcuterie board but we didn’t really get a chance to sit and eat it. If it is going to be a very cold night, I recommend that they provide extra blankets and maybe a fire. All in all they tried very hard to make it a nice experience but with the cold temps and ineffective itinerary, it was not great.

An incredible experience, we could not recommend this highly enough. Jhonatan and his team were brilliant, their knowledge was brilliant and their passion was clear to see. The experience was split into two parts - the first section Jhonatan taught us how to take photos of the night sky, and also used a high quality set up to take profession photos of us with the milky way as the backdrop. The second section was all about educating us on the night sky and using two incredible telescopes to see various types of star and formation. This second section was accompanied by wonderful food and drink which we had been contacted about in advance to accommodate any preferences and dietary requirements. We wouldn't hesitate to book this again if we returned to the Atacama Desert.

This was like fulfilling my childhood dream, to see the sky this vivid as per what the books have been discussing. Jhonatan was very knowledgeable in discussing the important bits about astrology in simple terms which has been the highlight for me and my partner along with the view as well, the perfect photo and the way he taught us how to capture the night sky are just bonuses. That magical moment under the twinkling night sky will definitely be one of the most romantic nights I’ve had in my life. That as a start of our Chilean tour definitely made us want to come back again soon. I can’t thank you enough team

Jhonatan and his team were incredibly knowledgable and the absolute highlight was clearly seeing Jupiter, and the Milky Way through the telescopes as well as shooting stars. The additional charcuterie board and drinks were a really nice touch to have while we listening to Jhonatan’s astronomy talk. We also had professional photos taken which showed the incredible night sky, stars and the Milky Way and we were shown how to take proper photos of the sky and stars using our phones. 10/10 experience that I would highly recommend.

Our entire trip to Atacama was fenomenal, but this tour was the highlight of the trip. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing. Pictures will never depict the astonishing scenery. We are space nerds at heart. This tour, played directly into our love. The tour guide Jonathon, was so incredibly inspired, insightful, and genuinely interested in not only what he was doing, but also in us as guests. By the end of the very short night, he knew all 12 guests by name, showed and shared with us some wonderful facts about the night sky, and showed us some incredible sights through the telescopes.

This was a beautiful experience. It's good for novices like me and experienced star gazers without access to giant telescopes like my husband.
