I was confused and misunderstood the pick up location. I thought it was my hotel because they asked for my hotel details. I was also confused because I was bounced around between so many different agencies and contact numbers when I tried asking questions before the tour date. They are a reseller in Argentina that resells to local agencies that resells to the final agency. This would have cost half the price had I booked locally. When we discovered the mistake I asked if I could drive my car to catch up to the tour they refused. When asked to move the date, they refused. When I asked for the park pass I paid for to use different day, they refused. So they stole my park pass at the end of the day so I had to buy another one to do a self guided tour. I would not work with this agency.

Itinerary
In the afternoon, begin your journey to discover one of the world’s driest and most hostile zones of the world: the Atacama Desert. There, you will visit geological formations created by the unique combination of clay and salt.
Located inside the Flamencos National Reserve, the worldwide known Valle de la Luna is a natural Sanctuary, set of landscapes of incomparable beauty and that resemble a fragment of the lunar landscape, to which it owes its name.
Once inside the reserve, you will visit a geological phenomenon known as Salt Mountain Range and will admire the landscape from different spots. You will pass by the ‘Amphitheatre’, a structure that evokes Roman civilization, sculpted by nature and made of rock and salt. It is more than 40 metres high and can be seen from miles away!
Mysterious forms of salt and mud will begin to emerge as we approach the area of "Las Tres Marías". You will understand the delicacy of the clay while visiting those natural formations, sculptures craved by nature: These statues are the female guardians of this cosmic landscape.
Next up, walk on the Great Dune, from where we'll be able to see the Andes, Domeyko mountain range and the Salt mountain range.
On your way back to San Pedro de Atacama, you’ll make a stop at Kari lookout point "Piedra del Coyote". For the perfect closure on 'Small-Group' tour, you will admire the dusk; get ready to see how all the colours change in the desert! Located at 2,550 masl., this viewpoint is one of the most famous postcards of San Pedro de Atacama, with a great panoramic view of the Salt Mountain Range, where water, wind and temperature combined their forces to produce this interesting canyon.
At the end of the trip, you will be driven back to San Pedro de Atacama.**Schedules are estimated.** Attractions may be visited in a different order

The valley of the moon is a spectacular landscape, but I feel that the tour is a little overrated. You only spend about an hour in the valley, at the same time as all the other tour groups. As a result, the dune lookout is crowded. There was a queue when I visited and it was low season. The guide before us was taking dozens of photos for each person in his group so needless to say that took forever. A couple photos per person should be enough in a crowded setting like this. The sunset spot is outside the valley and while it’s a nice location, it’s far from spectacular. You are looking down at rock formations from the plateau, so not a great angle for photography.
Fantastic trip and fantastic guide (Alex). The first guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Great time!
The experience was good but I guess this was a little overpriced. At least some snacks/coffee, wine or food can be included with this price. Moon Valley was good but the sunset was overrated.
The Valley is wonderful. In the middle of the tour there was a thunderstorm and the park was closed, but our guide Ernesto improvised an amazing tour with the van and let us eventually enjoy a gorgeous sunset. He saved the day. Recommended.
The guide was very kind. But I would go with a different company to this location next time. The van was hot and cramped compared to Puka Rami agency tours.
A wonderful tour with a fantastic guide (Ernesto) ! The landscapes on Moon valley are breathtaking !
Moon Valley is amazing view on my eyes , even though we faced a little bit of challenge during the tour , but our guide still give us wonderful experience . And the last sunset comes out , and draw a beauty ending .
The tour to Valle de la Luna and other tours I took were great. However, Frank the guy who booked my tours was horrific in communicating tour details. I asked if it was possible to shift the astronomical tour to a day earlier and he said he would let me know. Never heard from him so when I finished the ancestral tour I visited the office and was told I’m booked. This left me with no time to grab a warmer jacket. In addition, I booked a transfer to the airport and had communicated to him via WhatsApp the time I had to be at the airport. Three messages over 2 days and no response. Again I went to his office and was informed my pick up was at 7:30am when I informed him I had to be at the airport by 7:30am. Miguel (although didn’t speak English) was very helpful and corrected my pick up time. I recommend not booking all your tours with this agency as once they have your money they don’t care what happens to your bookings.
We booked the tour after seeing the great reviews online and it didn’t disappoint. The scenery was other worldly and truly stunning. Our guide Javier was amazing and really made the trip. He was really knowledgable and very passionate which made the trip as great as it was. He was so happy to answer all of our questions and to take photos of the group, would definitely recommend!
The tour was amazing! We got to explore and see so many beautiful places. The tour guide spoke both English and Spanish so everyone understood the history he was talking about. Highly recommend.
Definitely worth it, but the sunset isn't quite as worth staying around for as the rest of the tour. Enjoyed seeing the beautiful vistas and moon dust sand dunes. Felt like the sunset was nice but extended the tour for the sake of extending it rather than enjoying the star of the show which was the valley and dunes themselves.
Poor weather conditions closed the moon valley park (part of the intrigue of a desert vacation is its unpredictability) so I took the alternative tour offered by the company. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the atacama region's history and geology, it was a pleasure learning from him! He gave us great travel tips for the area and took us to an unforgettable spot to watch the sunset as a close to our tour.
A quick tour, efficient- good conversations with our guide , Alexandro, which I appreciate . Thoroughly enjoyable . The sunset view was wonderful
Very cool tour of some incredible landscape. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. Meeting point easy to find. Great way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommend.
Phillipe was our tour guide and we had the MOST amazing time. This was the hilihht of our time in Chile. I wish we had been able to stay longer in Atacama. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about the Atacama desert. Truly life changing.
All of the parks and reserves around San Pedro have entrance fees. You must get your tickets online and before you go. Try to do this in an area with good internet as many places in the area have poor connectivity. They have many choices of prices (age sensitive). We were told that you could only pay online, but after being unable to do so we set out anyway and were able to pay with credit card and help from the entrance attendant. Normally they do not like to do this but you can try to insist. They only accept cards, not cash, in our case. Do your homework ahead of time. And always carry a lot of water. All places provide bathrooms.
Amazing tour guide! Very friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. We got to experience some amazing hikes, views, and memories to last a lifetime! 10/10 recommend
In a van with no AC in such heat can be rather difficult. Driver so unpleasant and rude. He went crazy on a guy because he stepped out of the pathway and that would damage the park. I understand and agree we shouldn’t affect the environment when visiting but that was way over board. When it came to the Whipala or something like that (company doing the tour) they harassed me for money to pay the entry to the park in cash. They sent me texts and it was so unneeded and ouch, why can’t we all just make money with honesty? The van and the driver/guide were not as bad as this agency. I wish I had booked my tickets at Caracoles street there are so many agencies and they are all kinds of people there selling all kinds of tour. Lesson learned for me. Never again.
I thought I made a huge mistake in the first little bit of the hike, but the rest of the hike was not bad. Ernesto was a great tour guide, and he did a really good job leading the hike and made everything feel special with the pacing of the hike. The locations we went to were all great. Highly recommend this tour!
The great dune, Las Tres Marias, and the salt ridges were all amazing sights that I highly recommend seeing, and this tour definitely got us around to all of them. The sunset at Coyote Rock was a bit underwhelming -- in an arid desert with no clouds, there's really not much to look at during a sunset if you don't want to stare directly into the sun! The guide was also very unclear at the visitor center about where to go -- he parked the van and then ran off without telling us where to meet him and in how long.
Guide Alex was very knowledgeable, not only about the desert and minerals, but Chilean history and anything else we could think to ask him. Fascinating landscape, interesting history, beautiful experience.
The office staff were friendly and helpful making sure I had all my tickets and knew when and where to go. Our driver (Alexander) was friendly, informative and gave us plenty of time to take in the views. Really nice to be unhurried. Valle de la Luna itself was magical! A truly otherworldly place. Absolutely stunning landscapes and a must for anyone coming to the Atacama.
Great guide, good information. Good value for money and the guide Alex was someone who knew his stuff.
A wonderful afternoon in the Vally of the moon. It’s an incredible place and the guide was informative and chatty , it was well placed giving plenty of time for photos.
Stunning scenery and a must do when visiting San Pedro de Atacama. Got so many good photos and watching the sunset was definitely the highlight.
Samuel, Thiago, and Francisco were a great team! I greatly enjoyed the tour, the information on the geology added greatly to the appreciation of the scale of the moon valley. They ensured everyone was taken care of on the small but impressive hike and the booking agents were proactive about what you needed to bring along. They also were more than willing to take photos for solo and group travelers which I really appreciated!
Great views, amazing sunset and very helpful guide. We were well looked after and had a great time. Thank you!
Best trip in the Atacama. Dry good guide. Very well tun tour group. We actually left on time unlike all the other tours I did. The terrain and sights in the Moon Valley were majestic.
Special thanks to Victoria for communicating with me and answering all my questions leading up to the tour. The tour of Valle de la Luna was great; depending on the season, the tour will either begin at 3 pm or 4 pm so make sure to double-check. I would recommend bringing a mask or a scarf to cover your nose and mouth as the wind can be strong and can blow a lot of sand. Our tour guide was informative and knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. The scenery was beautiful as the sun dipped below the horizon for sunset. Back in town around 7:30-7:40 pm. Highly recommend!
The tour guide was knowledgeable and the views were beautiful. The hiking was hot, and this was one of the cooler months! The hike or walk, was short, but because of elevation we could really feel it. Watching the sunset over Moon Valley was probably my most favorite thing to do in San Pedro de Atacama.
Beautiful place … the tourguide was very informative and interested.. good organised.. very nice day
Absolutely stunning views and beautiful landscapes. It felt like we were on another planet! Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Thank you for this great experience!
Great for getting the highlights of Valle de la Luna. Great tour guide and picturesque stops. It is a relatively short tour, so people wanting to spend a lot of time here to explore the trails more should opt for a different option. However this tour was perfectly timed to get to a lovely overlook at sunset for a fantastic view. The park had several very different geological formations so each stop looked very distinct
What a unique part of the world. A must do. Communication was fantastic and everything explained in advance as far as meeting point (centre of town) and entrance ticket costs. Our guide spoke in both English and Spanish. We did an easy uphill walk/hike to a beautiful look out, saw salt flats and a beautiful sunset from a view point to finish. Nice and early back about 6pm.
Excellent experience! Javier was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable about everything we were exploring, helpful with tips and tricks for the weather, and a great photographer. This tour is not to be missed!
Wonderful! Our guide was charming and knowledgeable, the valley is spectacular. You will truly feel like you are on another planet.
The guide, Ernesto was very knowledgeable and good. We learnt about local geological formations and the science behind the formation which was very interesting.
Valle de la Luna offers stunning landscapes and is very much worth a visit. However, this tour did not include all that was advertised. First, the entire tour lasted between 3 and 3 1/2 hours, including travel time, not the 4-5 that was advertised. Moreover, we made just one stop in Valle de la Luna, not the 3 advertised. It was a great stop, as we hiked to some impressive vista points, but we were in the park maybe 90 minutes total, instead of the 3 hours advertised. Our guide was friendly and enthusiastic, but not particularly informative. The sunset finale at a viewpoint outside the park was well-executed and a highlight. Frankly, if you have a car, you are probably better off just seeing the park on your own. Valle de la Luna is very close to San Pedro. You have to buy a separate entry pass anyway, which you must get online at least a day in advance, tour or not. Also, hotel pickup/dropoff is advertised, but this did not occur either, although since San Pedro is such a small village, this was not a terribly inconvenient. 17 people seemed a bit much for a "small group tour" as well, although we did all fit comfortably in the van.
The tour was well organized and the tour guide was really nice and made it interesting but it felt rushed, especially for the sunset. We got the start of the sunset but could have stayed on longer with other tours, especially when we finished the tour over an hour early.
This was a great tour! Mostly driving and stopping at view points with some short “hikes” in between. Super well-organized and hit all the highlights in the area, ending with a beautiful sunset over the valley. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and spoke both English and Spanish as we had speakers of both languages in our group. Highly recommend!
Beautiful tour around the Moon Valley. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Easy to follow. We enjoyed it
The trip we took was amazing. The views were indescribable and the tour leader we had was well educated on everything we were experiencing. He spoke in both English as well as Spanish and knew how to answer all questions fully and meaningfully.
Great guide, wonderful landscapes. It's high season, but it didn't feel too crowded/ like we weren't given the time to see everything. A must do if you're visiting Chile. A highlight was seeing the sunset on the Andes. Very good communication in advance of the trip, we were impressed!
Extremely knowledgeable guide. Very well conducted tour. Very efficiently managed with clear instructions; the guide was very knowledgeable about the terrain and the history
This is an amazing tour. The whole moon valley is a beautiful landscape. We did this tour in March 2023 and our tour guide Javier was excellent! We took several photos and the sunset from the view point was out of the world! I will 100% recommend this tour if you are in San Pedro de Atacama area.
This is a must tour if you are in San Pedro de Atacama area. The very unique landscapes were amazing and our tour guide Javier was the best! The sunset experience was splendid!
Amazing tour, sights, and guide. The guide was very organized and knowledgeable. Efficiently run. I highly recommend this tour. Packs a lot of beauty and scenery in a half day. Go for it!
Some additional information for other travellers about this tour. The plus points: on time, 12 in the group and good knowledgeable guide and the Valle de La Luna was impressive. The concerns: At over £50 per person you don’t get much for your money … in my opinion! Guide is also the driver and covers both Spanish and English. No hotel pickup, attraction is only 7 minutes away from the collection point, entrance fee is on top of the tour price which you get a message from the tour operator to say it must be purchased beforehand, another £11-12 purchased online or they can purchase for you for an extra fee (approx £5 on top) spent 2 hours registering and the website wouldn’t take a UK address. Then contacted the tour operator and they apologised saying we can collect and pay on the day (without fee and if over 60 it is half price). Never saw or was given the entrance ticket! I appreciate Chile is slightly more expensive than other Latin American states but what did I get for my money… not a lot for a minivan, guide/driver and bit of diesel. Again, in my opinion!
The view from the top of the large sand dune. The whole experience was exceptional m. Phillipe was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in detail drawing maps in the sand. He took every opportunity to make sure we had the best experience ever and we were almost the last to leave after sunset
