An unforgettable introduction to the Atacama Desert. Our half-day tour to Valle de la Luna felt incredibly thorough and thoughtfully curated, allowing us to experience far more than we expected in just a few hours. The desert landscape is truly otherworldly. What made the tour particularly special was that it wasn’t just scenic viewpoints - we also set out on a beautiful hike, exploring different formations up close and learning fascinating geological insights along the way. Our guide was a very knowledgeable and warm woman who kindly took individual photographs of everyone, which was such a thoughtful touch - especially meaningful during our honeymoon. To top it all off, we enjoyed a lovely picnic prepared by our guide. Sitting there, sharing food while overlooking the oasis, felt incredibly special. Highly recommended for anyone visiting San Pedro de Atacama.

Our tour will start from our office, gathering the entire group of passengers. This trip focuses on 3 important points. The Valley of the Moon, Central Crater and finally the viewpoint of Ckari. We start by touring the important points of our main destination, visit the salt caverns, the main dune, the amphitheater and the three Marias, salt caverns, which is located in the middle of the Sal mountain range. We move to the viewpoint of Ckari, to enjoy a sunset of beautiful colors and an aperitif. Recommendations: Wear pullover, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, mineral water and comfortable shoes for walking.

Spectacular! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time watching the sun set over mars Valley with Pisco sours.
The only activity like this we have ever been on where they collected you from your hotel bit then dropped you off without warning two.miles away and said it was normal
A nice visit to this unique area of Chile. Very dry-5% humidity so bring water and moisturizer/ lip balm. The landscape is so different from most deserts.
A great afternoon tour. Especially loved the walk through the desert. Nice little stop for pisco sours and dramatic sunset stop.
The tour guide was very helpful in taking photos and knowledgeable and friendly. Moon valley is also a stunning site recommended for tourist.
This tour could have been better if our guide gave us more information about what we were doing and spoke more English. It was advertised as an English speaking guide. He did both Spanish and English with a greater emphasis on Spanish. Great energy and super friendly.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and could share his love of the beautiful region and its geography without being dull. Well worth the money.
Very nice tour, guided by Andrea who was very cheerful, informative and fun. Highlights were sitting quietly in front of an impressive rock formation listening to the salt warming up in them making creaking noises and later having pisco sour and snacks overlooking the Luna valley at dusk.
The tour does what it proposes to. It's a 4h tour through the Valle de la Luna, which is a beautiful landscape but for me personally 4h was too much. The landscape does not change much, and after the first hour it's just more of the same. It starts with climbing the highest sand dune for a great view, but afterwards it could be just a car ride through the landscape (30min) instead of many small walks (3h) in the scorching sun.
Nice way to spend an afternoon getting to see the desert have a few drinks and enjoy the sunset! Guide was funny and knowledgeable
Valle de la Luna is a must for San Pedro de Acatama, it is just so so so beautiful! Walking there is like walking on another planet ❤️
Amazing experience. Our guide was fantastic, very friendly and had plenty of information—loads of stops and a bit of walking with opportunities to take breathtaking photos. The sunset was the highlight of the day.
the weather caused our tour to be canceled. very disappointing. we did get updates from the tour company to let us know.
Be prepared for it to be hot and dusty, and you will also walk a couple of miles over the different stops that are made. The guide explains the rock history as you gently walk through the area and why the area is like it is. The picnic at the end of the tour is very well prepared and a nice touch. Friendly knowledgeable guide.
Place fantastic and guide good but NO aperitif as advertised and dumped at back of town with NO help to get back to hotel SO TOOK AN HOURS WALK!!
We had a great time on this tour with Cristobal. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot! He took the time to explain things and our group hung back so we weren’t as crowded with the summer crowds. The sunset was beautiful but definitely windy so bring layers.
We took this tour last year. The guide doesn’t speak English at all, and keep repeating the same information over and over. They also don’t let you move and ask you to be next to them all the time. Amazing place but awful guide
Brilliant tour covering everything with an amazing guide who provided useful insights about the area.
This tour is a must-do!! We had done a salt flats day tour the day before this and were underwhelmed so we were a bit nervous about this tour. But this was light years better! Our tour guide, Daniel, was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. You could tell he really loved what he does, he loved the history of the area, and he loved taking really cool panoramas and pictures of the people on the tour :). You’ll make a few different stops on this tour and he would always explain the history (in Spanish and English) and then let you roam for a bit so it provides a bit of flexibility which was lovely. Great tour!!!
Great tour of Valle de La Luna and Valle de Marte! The views are otherworldly. Our guide was knowledgeable of the geological history, spoke English well and had a good sense of humor. Only one short, moderately strenuous hike at the beginning (considering altitude) and leisurely walks after.
Just Beautiful, good bus, good group, very nice guide, but his English should be improved. Except for that it was perfect.
Had a fantastic tour at the Valley of the Moon with Jared as guide and Ariel as driver. Jared was extremely knowledgeable on the area and geology in particular, and handled both English and Spanish speaking guests with ease, never making us feel like one group was being unfairly prioritised. We got snacks on the trip and the only slight issue was a 1h+ wait for the sunset at the end, but it was worth the wait. Highly recommended!
Was interesting, great landscape, moderate hike, wear sunscreen, picked up from hote on time Medium size group, Snacks were a nice added bonus.
My family and I had the good fortune to visit Valley of the Moon. Our guide was excellent, he had a fantastic knowledge about history, culture, and legends.
Highly recommend this tour! Our guide was amazing and very knowledgable, and it was fun to meet several people from all over the world. I think it should be renamed "hike" instead of "tour" though (I wasn't prepared and stupidly wore sandals - I don't recommend that). Be prepared to walk through lots of sand and rock, and bring sunscreen as the sun is SUPER strong. Definitely need to do this tour if you're seeing Atacama for the first time.
Very nice experience, very good English-Spanish speaking guide, fantastic landscapes. The experience was worth the price (not expensive anyway). Something definitely to recommend
Only 15 minutes away from the town of San Pedro Atacama, you find yourself hypnotized by the rugged mountains in the desert, the underground caves you crawl through on your belly, the sand dunes that have been sculptured by the winds and the panoramic view at sunset. This was one of the most rewarding hikes of my life time.
View from a observation platform is wonderful. The young girl guide speaks English well and is kind. The driver drove safely.
This tour was arranged through Ruta Chile -- great sites and itinerary. There's a 1 hour climb up through Moon Valley so make sure to bring shoes that can walk across rocks and sand. They also make sure to stop at a lookout at sunset (and they provide snacks) so everyone can get photos. However, our tour guide Mauricio is a crook. He gave us change that was counterfeit money and we didn't notice until after the tour. Tried to track him down but no luck. I'd highly recommend doing the tour, but probably not with Ruta Chile and definitely avoid Mauricio.

Perfect amount of time, beautiful sites, and the best tour guides of our entire trip! Pick up @ our hotel was right on time, bus was comfortable, and the views were tremendous. This tour does require a good amount of walking multiple stops, not all at once--nothing too strenuous, but you should be aware, and bring lots of water and sunscreen! Opportunities to do a few harder walks/climbs, but no one had to do anything beyond their comfort zone. The sunset has to be seen to be believed--amazing.

The place looked Martian and epic. We also visited Valle de Martes/Muertes which was interesting. It was unforgettable. The tour operator picked us up from Hotel in time and all went smoothly. It'd be cheaper booking locally but booking via Viator just took the anxiety out as we could plan ahead

This afternoon tour is a great way to explore Moon Valley. It has 4 stops in moon valley before the final sunset viewpoint. We got an opportunity to walk through caves, hike up a sand dune and visit death valley. Our guide, Pablo, was knowledgeable and friendly. The best part was the coffee and snacks at sunset point, which no other tour seemed to provide. Our evening was capped off with a gorgeous moonrise over the mountains. All in all, highly recommended.

Beautiful scenery! Also well organized by Desert Adventures everything went smoothly. Only downside is that is was quite busy. Recommend

Due to heavy wind the Moon Valley Tour was cancelled. But we were offered a tour to watch the stars at night. So we took that one and asked if we could also go somewhere to watch the sunset above the desert first. The guides said that this is no problem. So we saw an amazing sunset and after that we drove to a little village where the inhabitants told us some interesting facts about the stars and constellations and it was so dark there, you could even see the milkyway. This tour was awesome! And so was the company as they fulfilled all our wishes :

This is a good trip and worth doing. The Valley is beautiful and well worth visiting. Our guide Marco was excellent and very informative. The only shame with the afternoon only tour is we paid to go into the 'death valley' but did not get anytime to actually walk in to it as we had to make it in time for the sunset. I would suggest that the tour is slightly longer starting a bit earlier or for those who want to see the place more thoroughly - book on to a whole day tour as this is a whistle stop tour.

Simply amazing. The landscape is breathtaking. This is a MUST DO for those staying in San Pedro. Our guide, Simon was superb.

Except for the van without a functioning air conditioner, the rest was very good. Be prepared to walk and climb. The guide was very knowlegible in all matters and was very nice. In sum, a good tour, but the van was inexcusable!

A very pleasant surprise. Expected much more low key sightseeing but enjoyed some great hiking too. Nice knowledgeable guide.

Perfectly organized. See good dinner. Lots of interesting information. Beautiful sunset mood great viewpoint
Wonderful trip!! We did the same day we arrived in SAN Pedro. The guide Manu was very good!! He spoke English and Spanish. Passed a lot of knowledge during the walk. Valle de la Luna is very beautiful!! I highly recommend!!
Super Organisation, lustige Reisebegleitung.
Although there isn't much walking, you have to walk on soft sand and some steeper places, I really liked choosing sneakers. The guide was almost Brazilian, he communicated so well with us. He explained many legends, the formation of deserts, everything impeccably! The entire tour is beautiful... But the sunset at the end is enough to make any atheist believe in God again. I cried with emotion (and maybe also because I drank a few too many pisco sours from the crowd who weren't ready for alcohol at snack time). Note: take a coat because you start the tour in the heat and return in the mild cold (this is in May) I booked all my tours with Deyd and I don't regret it!! She organized my entire trip, including the order of the tours.
It was very good. Just take care to bring plenty of jacket and touch, plus some cloth to make a balaclava.
I paid in advance for this tour, scheduled and confirmed for 22.10.2019, but due to the demonstrations in Chile and the bans on the road that leads to São Pedro do Atacama, the tour was not held. I'd like to know what my compensation will be.
The tour is cute not binding you will enjoy this landscape enjoying a carefree walk in tranquility.
