If your Hotel is located on Ayllus far away from the downtown, please let us know to arrange a meeting point for being picked up.
We will travel to the west of San Pedro de Atacama to meet the Cordillera de Domeyko, a spectacular formation that coexists in parallel to Los Andes. First we will visit the sector of Yerbas Buenas, of great historical relevance for its rock art, since it has one of the most important groups of petroglyphs in the region. The tour will transport us to the time of the indigenous caravans, adding historical and cultural value to the experience.
Then, and crossing Matancilla, a sector rich in flora and fauna, we will find the Valley of the Rainbow, named for the variety of tonalities that can be seen in the surrounding hills: earth, reddish, brown, green, white and yellow colors , which combined with the white salts and the blue sky, make up a unique place. Then we will visit the viewpoint where we will contemplate the Rainbow Canyon where we will enjoy the landscapes that the desert gives to us, includying the cultural and geographic history behind of these places
After our incredible experience in between the geographic and cultural history of Atacama, we will return our trip back to San Pedro de Atacama. The drop off will be at the same point as where you were picked up (meeting point or Hotels from the list)

Amazing place to visit. Nature is so beautiful and this is definitely up there as one of the best.
It was phenomenal, one of the best tours I’ve gone on…full of amazing geology and rock formations. It was really fun, and worth every minute…excellent guide!
Great views, delicious and varied breakfast. Bastian was a very passionate and helpful guide who took lovely photos of every one of us.
Nata (our guide) and Carlos (our driver) were exceptional hosts. Nata amazed us with her energy, thorough knowledge of the stops on the tour, and her precise timing that kept our group away from the crowds. She slipped seamlessly and tirelessly from Spanish to Portuguese to English. Carlos was a safe driver and an excellent breakfast chef. We had a great morning and would recommend this tour to anyone!!!
Hearty vegetarian friendly breakfast Knowledgeable and funny guide Prudent driver Very good organisation for pickup, visits, and regular toilet breaks I wholeheartedly recommend
Our tour guide took time to explain in both Spanish and English to engage all tourists and made sure the trip was educational and interesting. The breakfast is delicious :)
Incredible scenery and nice breakfast. Although we booked for English speaking there was only a driver who spoke limited English and no separate guide.
A great, easy walk through spectacular red, green and white hues with spectacular landforms and a chance to see amazing petroglyphs from some of Chilies original inhabitants. As a professional geologist I enjoyed the technical aspect of the rock formations and my wife loved the colors and land forms. A tour for all that we found much more interesting and fun than some of the more popular tours that cost a lot more.
Javi was a great tour guide and the driver was great too. Enjoyable morning seeing Rainbow Valley and a good breakfast supplied. Thank you.
This was in someways our favorite of the four tours we took from San Pedro. It started early in the morning, but was a five hour instead of 10 hour tour. The Rainbow Valley was the most spectacular thing we saw in the Atacama, though many other scenes in the desert were also amazing. The guide was great and made the visit to the petroglyphs very interesting and meaningful. It was a good combination with the Rainbow Valley.
The programme is interesting and it is well delivered The guide knows his subject and the ground well
This tour was one of my favorites of my trip. The guide Mauricio was really knowledgeable and gave us time to wander and explore. He also was a great photographer. Hierbas Buenas was also really cool to explore. Would definitely recommend!
While the tour itself and what we saw was excellent I strongly recommend that you never never ever book through viator. They have ruined my vacation with a complete lack of communication and a total failure on logistics. The website says this tour is 4 hours so I made plans accordingly. It was over 5 hours and I missed my 2nd tour completely. Now Viator is pointing the finger at the tour operator and they are pointing the finger at Viator. I booked with Viator. Viator took my money. So Viator has a legal responsibility to fix this but all they have sent me are ridiculous emails about how much they care, but they have actually done NOTHING. And after I told the tour guide about the scheduling issue, he made no effort to help, place a phone call for me......NOTHING. Then the tour agency tried to rewrite history and made up even more excuses as to why they have no responsibility but they are equally at fault when they did nothing to mitigate the situation. There are many tour companies in San Pedro where you can book direct and not have to deal with Viator making endless excuses for failures while claiming they are SOOOO concerned. Take advantage of those and stay away from Viator! But there is one thing that Viator does really well - hit you with endless spam, emails and pop-ups trying to sell you more tours after the ones they booked failed. That is the only part of their service that is absolutely guaranteed.
This tour was great ! We got to see lots of ancient petroglyphs and hear about the history of the first people in the area, as well as all about the surrounding landscapes. It was cool to learn what mineral deposits created the colours in this valley. The only thing I was a little disappointed in is that the tour said we would visit a local handicraft town, and we did not do that.
Absolutely gorgeous locations and so much wonderful information (with a very fluent bilingual guide) about the petroglyphs, Indigenous culture and symbolism, and geology of the Rainbow Valley. It was fascinating and the guide was incredibly attentive, even with us as the only English speaking couple on the tour (and me walking slower with a cane). He was also an incredible photographer and knew all the spots to get perfect photos with the sunlight at a gorgeous angle through the rocks. Overall, this far exceeding our expectations and we would highly recommend it!!
Communication was clear and expectations were set! The people are awesome. Igor did a fantastic job explaining the history, culture and overall geography of the region! Definitely recommend!
The tour guide, Rafael, was amazing. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helped tourist take the best pictures. The views were really lovely and it was definitely worth the visit. I paired this morning tour with another shorter evening tour and it was a great way to see lots of different parts of Atacama. The petroglyphs were interesting to see but of course arcoíris was the real showstopper. Photos don’t do justice to the colors!
Excellent tour! Ths giude Ivan is one of the best guides I've ever done tour with. He gives excellent explanations, has an amazing knowledge of the fauna and flora, also the origin of the formations. Also, the breakfast served is delicious. I fully recomend it.
Stunning Rick formations and ancient writings on rocks. Helped by knowledgeable guide on Maurizio. Well worth a visit
Excellent English-speaking guide who was interesting and very considerate. One of the most beautiful strolls of my life where there was no climbing. The sanctuary in the cave was like a Cathedral. A home-made breakfast was served to everyone's satisfaction.
If you do not do anything else in San Pedro, do this. The primitive rock art is amazing and the scenery spectacular. The guide Simon is very knowledgeable, and not just about this tour. I have a walking disability and without his help and encouragement I would not have been able to manage.

Good trip and an excellent guide. Very knowlegeable about the geological features of the Valley.
Some fantastic different colours and crystals in the rocks

The Rainbow Valley was spectacular. Tour includes breakfast.

Excellent Trip - We only had 5 people so it was a bit more personal. Superb scenery with stunning landscapes and color. Superb for photography. 2nd only to the Valley of The Moon Tour, but should not conflict in term of time overlap. Go early to avoid crowds andante better lighting

Really enjoyed this tour, and the colours in the valley were spectacular. Only four in the group with a mix of Spanish and English speaking. He took time to explain geology features, and did not rush us.

some area land were difficult to drive after snow melting, the driver did best to drive over and the guide helped us took nice photos. It was an impressed tour.

Excellent experience! The guide Thomas was great! With plenty of time at each stop for photos and walks!
Felicitaciones.
Locais muito bonitos e preservados. O vale do arco-íris é único e fantástico! Vale a experiência. Contudo, não ganhou 5 estrelas, pelo fato do guia não organizar o tour. Ficamos perdidos em um momento sem saber para onde ele foi.
Spectacular rock formation with the presence of metal minerals that give it diversity of colors. Surrounding riverbeds that when it rains in the mountain range transform into flows that wash away cements... incredible. The guide Diego excellent in his work. It flies the time of the visit. He misses the name and signs of atacameñas. Wear hat, blocker, comfortable shoe, glasses. For kids it can be a little long.
A good tour to learn about the history of the inhabitants of Atacama through the petroglyphs and to enjoy the valley. Alex an excellent guide with good knowledge, aroused our curiosity about the multiple things we found along the way. Congratulations on your professionalism and good work.
This valley is much more beautiful and interesting than the Valle de la Luna. Especially towards evenings the light is fantastic for great photos. You can also stay here with your own car (motorhome). In the morning, herds of llama are often seen walking down the valley. Always happy
A beautiful outdoor walk. The mountains have different colors due to the different composition of their rocks. It is a pleasant walk and not very difficult, even for older people. It is important to protect yourself from the burning sun, dry air and intense cold in the winter, but it is worth visiting.
The tour passes through a series of rocky formations of various colors. It is beautiful, but does not reach the feet of other tour of the Atacama, such as the Vale del la Luna. Maybe I'd dispens him.

Muito bonito e interessante. O guia Ricardo faz a diferença dessa excursão.
As explicações da formação das rochas e do seu povo antigo foram muito interessantes.
