Andres, our guide was phenomenal. He explained everything we wanted to know. Gave a history and background of every single aspect included in the tour. Must see

Itinerary
After a 1 hour drive from San Pedro de Atacama we arrive at the third largest geothermal field in the world and the largest in the southern hemisphere in the Atacama desert. At 13,780 feet (4,200 meters) above sea level, the Tatio Geysers are a natural wonder that will take your breath away, in more ways than one. Later, we enjoy a delicious breakfast before visiting the next point.
See endemic flora and fauna, and stop at a lagoon to see flamingos.
We visit the town of Machuca for about 30 minutes where there is an old church and where you can also eat a llama roast. On Mondays and Tuesdays the town is closed, so we don't stop. Afterwards, we return to San Pedro de Atacama.

It can be very cold in the morning; you get there before sunrise. Dress warm, enjoy this beautiful trip.
Great tour, definitely recommend the geysers are awesome to see and our guide was really informative about all the spots we stopped and keen to answer any questions we had
Chris was a great guide, fun and organized. Great breakfast was also provided considering the needs of vegetarians.
George was a fun and knowledgeable guide who was flexible enough to let us have a few stops- slight changes to make the most of an amazing opportunity to see and photograph flamingoes and Vicunya in the wild and also ensured that we were safe and were given a interesting and informative understanding of the endowment, phenomena, flora and fauna that we were visiting. A wonderful experience. Thank you!
Awesome tour guided by Anita and team. They were really informative and lots of fun! The geysers were incredible. Highly recommend taking this tour.
I’m so happy I chose this agency for my tour! Everything was organized perfectly from start to finish. The itinerary was incredibly well planned, packed with amazing experiences, and every stop was worth it. The biggest highlight, besides the stunning scenery, was our guide. A true superstar! Professional, knowledgeable and funny:)
Andres was a terrific guide. He was helpful, informative, and timed everything perfectly. He made sure everything we needed was taken care of. My only critique is you are picked up at your hotel but dropped off in town and have to walk to your hotel which wasn’t bad for us but I guess it all depends on where people stay. I will also say that the communication on WhatsApp from the company was superb, helpful, informative, and they responded very quickly. They handled every thing, including getting tickets in advance for entrance. Getting up for a 430 pick up was daunting at first but worth every moment and every penny as the views at sunrise were unbelievable!Highly recommend this tour! Thank you Andres Ju and our driver Julio!!! It was an unforgettable experience!
It was -18 C when we got there. Dress very warmly indeed. great explanations by the guide. good group size. we saw the sunrise over the mountains onto the geyser field. the high altitude meant you had to tqke care - i recommend having a coca tea at your hotel before you set of. A great breakfast was provided at a small village at only 4000 metres altitute - the meal was well designed and was great in the sunshine.
The tour was exactly as described and was a great experience. Our guide, Anita, was fantastic—very cheerful, energetic, and friendly. Her positive personality made the early morning start much more enjoyable. She shared a lot of interesting information about the geysers, the surrounding area, and local wildlife, and she was always happy to answer questions. Anita also helped participants take photos, which was greatly appreciated. The timing of the tour was perfect. Visiting El Tatio early in the morning is definitely worth it, as the colder temperatures make the steam columns from the geysers even more impressive. What impressed me most was how well prepared Anita was. Even though some participants had not dressed warmly enough for the cold conditions (-15C), she had spare blankets and gloves available, showing how much she cared about the comfort and safety of the group. Breakfast was also very good and well organized. Overall, this was an excellent tour with a wonderful guide.
Well organised and greet guiding team
Andres Pablo and Julio were first rate. It was a pleasure to have a tour with people who were truly knowledgeable as well as passionate about what we were being shown. It was an early start and pretty cool but these three kept our interest throughout. The geyser area is not Yellowstone but has a character all its own. An excellent tour with a great team for support. Highly recommended.
This tour group was so organized, efficient, and super friendly. Our guide, Francisco, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Worth the early wake up call and cold weather!
We took multiple tours with this company (Baltinache Lagoons, Luna Valley, Piedra rojas and Geysers el Tatio) during our time in the Atacama Desert, and overall, I would recommend them. The coordination through WhatsApp was excellent. They were very responsive and even helped rearrange our tours so we could acclimatize better, which we really appreciated. One tip: if your hotel offers a packed breakfast, take it with you. Breakfast is included on most tours, but it may not be enough if you have a long day ahead, especially if you have dietary restrictions. The guides can be a bit hit or miss. We were lucky to have Anita for two of our tours, and she was amazing - knowledgeable, kind, and made the experience much better. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for every guide, as they can be quite rude at times. That said, with group tours, there are limited options, and the overall experience was still very good. Overall, the company is well organized, easy to communicate with, and offers great tours in the Atacama Desert. I would recommend booking with them.
The tour is great, Sheryl our host was really nice and enthusiastic. She gave us a lot of fun facts. The geysers are beautiful. It will be very cold though early in the morning so prepare yourself for that.
Andres was an excellent guide, the driving was also safe and fast through the difficult roads.
Pukarumi is professional and well organized. Had a pleasant experience with Jeronimo, tour advisor at San Pedro office, patiently explained & helped us to plan our itinerary. Their guides are professional, passionate about nature, knowledgeable about the place. Special shoutout to guide Lorena and Francisco. They are very detail in taking care of us, explaining everything we were amazed, and very personal addressing all our needs. (We booked 6 activities with Pukarumi throughout our 6 days in San Pedro.)
Cool experience with knowledgeable guide. Got to see some animals which was not expected. Altitude is no joke so prep early.
Everything went well, our tour guide Brandon is very knowledgeable and breakfast was good too.
This was our third tour with Pukarumi and once again, good communication, well organised and an excellent driver. We were fortunate to have Brandon again for our guide as he really is excellent. Geysers were amazing to see, followed by a substantial breakfast and a visit to Machuca, view of the volcano and the flamingos too.
Great half day tour to the geysers with Pukarumi tours. Our guide was Aslye and she was excellent - knowledgable, friendly, and was able to answer lots of questions. She also was very firm about the importance of being respectful to the animals which we really liked. And when cara were speeding past us at the flamingo lagoon she was signalling to them to slow down - also appreciated this! The breakfast was top notch - best scrambled eggs that I have had in 3 months in South America. Delicious fresh bread, avocado, fruit and coffee. (Also meat, cheese and cake which I didn’t have). The geysers were beautiful - really worth the early rise. I have been to geysers in NZ and Iceland and Bolivia and thought these were fabulous. Also shout out to Brian, our very safe driver. And to Walter who cooked the tasty eggs!

A good way to see some lagoons while in San Pedro. Half day tour is nice for those trying to maximize their time if you arrive before 14:00 on your first day.
Pick up was well communicated..our driver was actually very cautious in driving, but this was making him always being last..the van was ok, but was a bit run down already and it was packed till the last sit...we have reached the site 10 min before sunrise, even though i was concerned we would miss it...the geysers are amazing !! We were guided through them in nice pace..Stil maybe starting 20 min earlier would be better and less hurried..i sat on the seat just above the last tire and my back was killing me when i came back, but that is mostly due to the road being extremelly bumpy and bad luck getting this seat..nice breakfast and good guides, guiding in 3 different languages..all in all great trip and worth booking it, you will not regret it..
We have had a great tour to the Tatio geysers! The guides Francisco, Daniel and Gerardo were fantastic. Great explanation about the fauna and geysers. Breakfast was really good. Would recommend!!
Our trip started EARLY, with a long drive to El Tatio park. It was worth it though, to watch the moon set and the sun rise over the mountains while our guide Anita gave us the history of the area and individual geysers. Anita made the trip - her obvious enthusiasm for the flora and fauna of the area was infectious! She pointed out things in the park that we would not have noticed - like colourful bacteria and even frogs living in the hot water. She was constantly pointing out wildlife, and we spotted birds, llama/guanaco, wild donkeys and a fox - all with a commentary of their place in the eco system. It was a joy! 😊 No big cats this time though!! Thank you Anita (and Brian for doing the driving!)
Early drive up a good road (bumpy for last 30mins) to a beautiful valley to watch sun rise over Andes while geysers steam in the early light. Delightful
Great communication, helpfulness and information to ensure your trip was spectacular in every way. Brilliant trip, people and never to be forgotten breakfast. Special mention for Juliana who provided so much advice and guidance prior to our booked trips, thank you.
I took tours to Baltinache lagoon with Francisco and then to the Piedras rojas, Tatio Geysers and Valle de la luna with Brandon. All of the tours were fantastic. Both Brandon and Francisco added to the experience they were kind and helpful and gave great information about the places which we visited. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
Great tour with an amazing guide named Franco. Clear explanation in english with a great sense of humour.
Really good experience with great knowledgeable guides and amazing sights. Would thoroughly recommend it to all.
I live in a high altitude city at 5,000 feet and have mountains near that are up to 12,000 feet. But the altitude on this trip was still too high for me. I have no cardiac or respiratory issues but I was fearful of having a medical crisis after I had an oxygen level of 79, and blood pressure too high. The guide insisted I wait 2 hours for an emergency vehicle to take me to a lower altitude. I felt I could not wait, she became angry and was arguing with me and said I had to wait. There are no medical services to speak of, no oxygen, or doctors near the venue. So I had to ask a kind stranger to drive me down the mountains to a town of lower elevation. So just fyi there is really no medical help to speak of.
Loved the tour and the guide. Nice stops and explanations. The scenery is breathtaking. Do not miss it!
Alex was amazing. He drove very safe and we were the first to one of the geyser sites, despite vans passing us and us being the first people to use the bathroom. He knew everyone and seems beloved. After touring the geysers, he made us an amazing and substantial breakfast. Some people were piggies and ate more than their share of dessert, meaning some of us never got one, despite there being plenty of food to go around. I had a car rental, but chose to hop on the tour. You can make it in a car, but make sure to have a spare tire. It seemed like a chaos of traffic in the morning darkness, so you would really need to know where you are going. Alex knew the flow of how other tours operated, so we got some amazing shots, and he also knew the timing of geysers so we could hear them build, watch them erupt, and watch them end. Very worth it to check out the geysers with Alex from Whipala!
The geysers were definitely worth a visit, but be prepared for the cold! It was -5°C before sunrise (in late summer), so wear two layers of socks. The delicious and varied breakfast under the rising sun warmed us up again. This was a well-organised tour.
It was cool trip. Despite getting hit with a major storm the night prior our tour bus driver was able to make up it to the geysers. Very cold up there so make sure you bundle up.
The geysers are amazing — and walking among them, seeing different geysers rise according to their unique cycles, was really impressive. Our guide, George, was very informative. Breakfast was good. Definitely worth the early wake up but dress warm! It is seriously cold!
It’s an early start and it was -5C but warmed as soon as the sun rose. The geysers are not as spectacular as other places of the world where I have been but neat if it’s your first time. Following a light breakfast, you should get to see flamingos at a lagoon stop. There was one stop at a vast meadow like area with an amazing mountain backdrop. It was my favourite view and part of the trip. Our guide Anita was a bundle of fun energy with a contagious laugh. You really enjoy yourself when the guide is passionate and keeps you engaged and educated. She made this a fun experience.
The tour was well organized. Tour guide, driver and assistant were all very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time there.
Anita Paula was a great guide for my trip to the geysers and as well as my trip to the valle de la Luna on a separate day. She was very informative and very well organized and kept the tour entertaining and fun with her knowledge and sense of humour. Thank you for the great experience in San Pedro’s de Atacamba
Great guide & amazing experience. Andres’ english is perfect and answered all our questions with sincerity and helpfulness, and took loads of cute pics of me and my boyfriend
A bit late on the pickup time, but oh so wow Adventure! Beautiful, breath taking, excellent breakfast, many interesting stops and a lot on information from our guide.
This was an excellent tour. The geysers are spectacular and well worth including as part of your trip. Brandon our guide and his team were friendly, organised and knowledgeable. My only comment is that we booked the tour in Spanish and without prior notice it ended up all being in English, for us that wasn’t an issue and you would be able ask questions of the Spanish speaking guides but this might not work for everyone,
4:30am is the meet up time but it's worth it. The geysers are beautiful with the sunrise. It takes about 90 min to get there. The rest of the stops felt like an additional that was not necessary to us because we have already seen flamingos in another lake and the stop in the final village was rushed it was only 15 minutes which gave us time to be in the queue to the toilet. So if you want to see the oldest village of Atacama pee before you arrive there
This is an absolutely amazing way to see the geysers, made even better by the best tour guides from San Pedro de Atacama! Anita, our guide, brought awesome energy to the early morning experience, and was super knowledgeable about everything we saw.
Had a great tour today with Gomer, Francisco, and Martina! Tour starts picking people up around 4am (tour company coordinates shuttle pick up for everyone in San Pedro) and the drive to the geysers takes about an hour to 1 hr 15 minutes. The geysers are definitely worth seeing and it was beautiful to watch the sunrise. They coordinate breakfast, which was delicious, and overlooking a beautiful vista.
Our trip to Geysers del Tatio was unforgettable, largely thanks to our guide, Francisco. His incredible energy, passion, and storytelling truly set this tour apart from the rest. Also, the pathway was seamless thanks to our driver, David. It was a standout highlight of our time in Chile that we’ll cherish forever!
Francisco is an amazing and very knowledgable guide that clearly loves what he does! The timings ran very smoothly and communication before the trip was very good. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested!
The agency sent us advice on how to prepare for this high altitude tour, which allowed us to enjoy the day to the fullest. The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. Needless to say, the geysers and landscapes along the way were gorgeous. It was cold - but totally worth it!
Spectacular scenery, good breakfast fixed by our guide and driver. We also had chance to take pictures of wild life on the way back to San Pedro
