Highly recommend Whipala, the tour to Rainbow Valley was amazing, and the tour guide Manuel couldn't have been better - highly knowledgeable, kind, a great sense of humour, and also made a delicious, quality breakfast. Perfect experience!

Itinerary
An essential excursion, a unique place in Latin America. It's worth waking up early, it's worth dressing up warm to weather the -10 degree temperatures. A wonderful environment that offers the opportunity to be very close to different types of geysers that very early in the morning offer impressive fumaroles. The tours that offer a breakfast there give a plus for being in an impressive place.
This expedition will also allow us to visit the petroglyphs of Hierbas Buenas of great historical importance based on rock art, where the Atacameño people left a vestige of their culture through these (place of great geological content).

It was a great experience. They must be prepared for wind so they must have the appropriate clothes. Eith these there is no problem
Alex made a wonderful job! It was the best tour we did in San Pedro de Atacama. He has a huge knowledge and explained everything patiently in spanisch and english. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Beautiful place to visit and hike with the guide. Learned a lot about the valley from the guide, breakfast is provided
The moon valley is amazing, but since there was an accident, we were unable to finish all our tours.
I am very disappointed with both the Rainbow Valley tour and the complete lack of follow-up from this agency. I understand that your tours operate without separate drivers and that the guide also serves as the driver. This arrangement worked out ok during my Red Rock tour on Tuesday. However, on the Rainbow Valley tour, this setup significantly affected the quality of the experience. During the most important part of the tour — the second half — our guide had to leave the group in order to drive the vehicle to the ending point. This meant we were left without a guide during what should have been the highlight of the experience. I noticed that other tour groups had guides accompanying them the entire time, which made the difference in service very clear. I traveled in Chile for 16 days and joined many tours during my trip. This was the only agency that did not provide both a driver and a guide, and unfortunately, it showed in the overall quality of the experience. This significantly reduced the value of the tour and left me feeling disappointed. What is even more concerning is that I contacted the agency afterward to express my concerns and received no response at all. A travel company should stand behind its service and communicate with its customers, especially when issues are raised. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this agency.

Had a wonderful morning tour to Rainbow Valley with Marta as our guide & Orlando as our driver. Prompt pickup at designated time, relaxing tour at a leisurely pace, Marta provided a lot of valuable information at each site, Orlando did a fantastic job as well. Special thanks to Orlando for laying out a hearty & delicious breakfast for all of us at Rainbow Valley. I would recommend this tour with Whipala Expedition if you are visiting San Pedro de Atacama.
The experience was amazing. Guides were very informative and caring. They took the time to explain and show us the attractions.
The Rainbow Valley trip was amazing, with so many colorful views of rocks. The dry waterfall was unforgettable. The Yerbas Buenas Petroglyphs reminded us of our human history and culture on the South American continent. The guide, Javier, was nice, experienced, and knowledgeable. He prepared a delicious breakfast for us. I highly recommend Whipala Expedition, the tour company that organized this trip. They provided clear instructions before the trip and communicated with me promptly. I even added more trips with them during my stay in San Pedro de Atacama. Their staff were professional and respectful. I enjoyed all the trips very much.
I really enjoyed this trip. Alex, the guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. The location was very pretty and it was nice to just take a stroll in the peaceful scenery. My favorite part was seeing the petrogylphs and learning about the culture of the people who made them. I'm glad I had the opportunity to take this tour. And just in case you were wondering, the provided breakfast included hot drinks, bread, some eggs, some meats, and a couple other things.
Great place, so much landscape variety. Javier the guide was super knowledgeable and explained everything in both English and Spanish. The food was also great!
Javi was our bilingual guide and just provided us with simply the best you can expect from this tour: astonishing landscapes, enriching explanations, friendly atmosphere and a delicious breakfast made by Javi himself on the spot. There's just no reason not to try this tour, so go ahead !
Everything was super well organized. Our guide, Alex, spoke fluent English and shared tons of interesting stories, full of humor, about geology and history. Honestly, he might be the best guide we’ve ever had! There was plenty of time for photos, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this tour to anyone – you won’t regret it!
Our guide, Ernesto, was excellent! He taught us a lot and made the trip so fun. I highly recommend this tour. It is beautiful - like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
This was one of the best tours we did in Atacama. The views were incredible and petroglyphs incredibly interesting and different from what we’d seen before. Alex was a brilliant tour guide and took time to explain things to us in English even though we were the only two taking the tour in the language. Highly recommend!!!
Alexander was an amazing, eloquent, impassioned guide with a great command of English. He took us to extra stops as well and seemed sincerely happy to spend a day in the desert with us.
I can 100% recommend this tour! The Tour guide Ernesto is the nicest and puts in a lot of work to ensure it is a great excursion for everyone. He is very knowledegable about the tour‘s spots and gets everything across in a very entertaining and funny way. All this made this tour my absolute highlight in San Pedro de Atacama! P.s.: The tour also features the best breakfast with e.g. freshly made scrambled eggs, guacamole and brownies which is beyond every other tour breakfast
Our guide was very personable, knowledgeable, and able to communicate in multiple languages. This is one of the less popular attractions in San Pedro, but it's well-worth your time and money. Spectacular colors in the rocks and incredible history with the petroglyphs, along with great wildlife sightings on the road. Highly recommended.
This tour called for an early start and although we were sleepy, Ernesto's energy and delicious breakfast got everyone excited. We were the only couple who have English as a first language and we were pleasantly surprised as to how much Spanish we understood, although Ernesto made sure to translate any aspects we did not understand. On the way to our first stop we pulled up roadside to enjoy the llamas crossing (all very road safety aware). We were told we would be climbing an elevation of 1,000m which you could definitely feel, although the menthol plant Rica Rica really did help to ease the feeling of sickness. We found this at our primary stop, Yerbas Buenas. The various petroglyphs of llamas, dogs, pumas, monkeys, flamingos and humans were fascinating. We even tried cactus for the first time- I’m not sure how to describe the taste other than a sour kiwi. However, the real star of the show was the Rainbow Valley itself. A particular highlight for us was the dried waterfall, where we all climbed up to admire the 20m or so column. Today was also probably the most interesting geology lesson I've ever had. Ernesto went into great detail about the different minerals in the various rocks and gave each of us examples to study. Walking around the scenery, it felt like something from a movie because of the contrast of colours. It was easy to see why it has this name as we stood and admired the red, white and green formations. All this excitement and exercise made us quite hungry and Ernesto recommended a great restaurant called 'Jardin Meraki' which we visited as soon as we were dropped off in the centre of town. A very enjoyable day overall! Amy and Jack
Ernesto led our tour and we didnt know what to expect but it was an amazing trip! An insane breakfast with a view followed by an informative english speaking tour. He answered all of our questions (even some stupid ones), and the way he chatted with us all and made everyone in the group comfortable was great. Would definitely recommend this tour- a highlight for us were the petroglyphs, you cant miss this!
Absolutamente arrebatador!
Lorena is a lovely person, very cheerful and kind, she created a sense of closeness and trust right away. The tour itself is beautiful, every landscape, every explanation of the difference in color and components of each one was extremely clear and consistent. Group unity was achieved and Lorena was always willing to answer questions and also to help with photos.
Good experience. Hotel pickup, the breakfast was good, and the guide was passionate. I recommend it!
Guide Daniel is very enthusiastic and very attentive. Made the trip even better. Besides, the place is beautiful! Maybe my favorite in Atacama. It was very worth it.
The guide was very kind. He knew a lot about the subject. I usually travel alone so I spend my time chatting with the guides and asking questions because I am curious, and the truth is that he had the knowledge to answer any question about the history, geology of the place.
Fantastic landscapes. Incredible colors in the Rainbow Valley. Sergio was a great guide, full of knowledge and motivation. Everything was a perfect fit. The petroglyphs were also amazingly well preserved and interesting.
The guide Lorena is wonderful! The tour was very good and fun! Note 10!
Tour that by the way is not very common among those who travel to Atacama but very well worth it! Beautiful views, a little history and empty places. It is not a long and tiring walk, it was very good! The guide was very friendly and polite
Very good guide Javier, in addition to having good knowledge when delivering the tour. Totally recommended ⛰️🫶🏼
Alex, our guide was great! After picking up at the hotel, we went to a lookout point, then stopped briefly for a few Guanacos and then drove directly to Rainbow Valley. What a nature experience! <3 Alex has conjured up a delicious breakfast and explained to us a lot about the origin of the valley. Afterwards we went to rock drawings - what is exciting is that many generations have immortalized themselves here in the rock formations. Everything was great, I learned a lot!
It was a very good experience. Alex explained a lot of things and met my expectations. Alex did great as a guide, I give him a 10 out of 10.
Spectacular! From the first moment super professionals. Very well organized. Marta our guide and Orlando our driver have been great. We highly recommend working with WHIPALA expeditions. You can contact them online and they wait for you when you arrive with everything organized.
Breakfast with the petroglyphs. Then tour with many explanations. Enough time to take pictures at Rainbowvalley.
Excellent tour, very attentive guide, kind and with a lot of knowledge. Note your ability with different languages. It was a very nice morning!
Excellent experience. Nicolas very entertaining and dynamic to tell the story about the place we visited. And your companion Luis very willing.
Excellent tour, the guide very concerned to explain in detail the tour route with excellent layout and theme content
Excellent guide and driver Alex Briones, very friendly and clear in the explanation of the tour, nice educational landscape and suitable for the whole family. Comfortable transportation and good price, excellent breakfast. Congratulations to the guide
Wonderful walk! Our guide Alex was very kind, polite, demonstrated a lot of knowledge and good communication. The van was very comfortable, clean and looked new. Very delicious breakfast.
All the tours we did with them was perfect. The guides and drivers are very friendly and attentive, and have made our experience much more pleasant.
We took a walk to the Arc-Iris Valley. The place is wonderful, out of the ordinary! Our guide, Alex, is an encyclopedia, knows everything about the local culture and besides prepared us a very good breakfast! Alex is punctual, polite and speaks multiple languages! Super recommend!
Excellent tour of the Rainbow Valley, beautiful natural beauty. Very rich breakfast varied, with scrambled eggs, rich creamy Chilean palta, kneaded bread, juice, tea or coffee and stay sweet.
Manuel is an exceptional guide, he knows very well the geology of the desert and the history of these places. He took us to have breakfast in a magnificent place, not crowded with tourists, and then we walked along two routes both very beautiful. Highly recommended! With the same agency we also visited the Valley of the Moon!
The place is very beautiful. Those who like history and archaeology will like it. It is a quieter walk ideal for a day that you intend to rest. We took this walk the day we left. The guide was great! I had a lot of knowledge and very friendly! I recommend!!
Beautiful landscapes with rocks of different colors, a blue sky and very few tourists. Daniel is a very friendly, funny, amateur photographer and interesting guide.
Alex offered us a superb discovery with history, geology and rich information about the arcoiris valley and petroglyphs. It was punctual, perfect driving and prepared us a 4 star breakfast. Thank you and congratulations.
A very nice excursion with a guide, Alex, who demonstrated exceptional knowledge of history, probably by hobby, and geology, sure by training
Great excursion, Alex, our guide, has been fantastic, told us a lot of super interesting things, highly recommended
The petroglyphs themselves are cool and the Rainbow Valley is beautiful, but the experience was more than special with Guide Ernestito, always smiling, full of information to share. It starts at the time when he joins the group and asks everyone to present themselves, this is already a differential. His knowledge is huge and treats us in ways that make us feel at home. Note 10!
The experience was excellent and that was thanks to Ernesto Guide, charismatic, friendly, very good his energy, didactic to tell the history and geography of the area. Excellent breakfast. The places are beautiful, but the Guide is the one who takes the applause by taking us on this adventure.
