Rodriguez and hi team was amazing! The only thing I was not satisfied with was the 2 pictures-they were of bad quality. For such a once in a lifetime experience, I would expect better pictures, but overall, it was an amazing night. Thank you Rodrigo, Paulo and Katherine. Gracias!

This is the best excision we did in Atacama. Rodrigo is an incredible knowledgeable guide who has so much passion for astronomy! The set up is beautiful and the way it’s set into the ground with blankets and a fire keeps everyone warmer than you would be on any other astronomy tour. There also lots of food and drinks to enjoy! Couldn’t recommend this more.

If you are going to book Star gazing look no further! Rodrigo is a phenomenal guide and an astronomer in his own right. His passion, informative yet friendly approach and the incredible organization (transport, camp site, and food + a professional photographer) for an incredible price.

The experience was well organized. Pickup and drop was convenient, tour was about 3 hours from pickup to drop which was adequate. The experience was excellent, location was perfect to see the night sky on a new moon night. The view itself was amazing. Rodrigo guided us through the constellations and explained patiently. Tour includes photos taken by staff, tripods were provided to take photos ourself as well. 2 Telescopes were set up to view several artifacts which the guide explained before the viewing. The night ends with drinks and snacks along a bonfire. This is a must have experience when visiting San Pedro de atacama. Worth every bit.

Rodrigo provided an amazing tour!! He shared lots of information as we stared up into the crystal clear night sky. There was also larger telescopes, tripods for taking your own photos, food, and blankets. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, this is definitely it!!

This astronomical tour has been a highlight of my Atacama visit. To see Venus so large and bright and The Milky Way so close and clear was incredible. Rodrigo spoke so passionately about the universe with a quiet calm that drew you into his knowledge. You ended up with as much enthusiasm as he had! Discovering stars and constellations together with his story telling was a real treat. I came away with not only knowledge but photos of The Milky Way .. even one taken on my own phone thanks to Pablo. The telescopes, tripods a warm fire and fabulous food and wine all made for a fantastic evening.Thankyou so much.

It was such a great experience, Rodrigo and Pablo did an amazing job to make everyone feel welcomed, we could observe a variety of astronomic objects through the telescopes while the bonfire was perfect to get warmed during the winter night, highly recommended

One of the highlights for our trip to San Pedro. The tour is given in the desert, in a carved out space with two high amazing telescopes. Presenter is a passionate astronomer who knows the firmament and its stories. We are star-chasers, and winter in San Pedro with this tour, you’ll see the southern sky like no other place.

Can’t recommend Bajo la noche de Atacama more highly. Rodrigo is incredibly knowledgeable and the facilities were really nice. The telescopes were top tier and we learned a lot and saw a lot too. Plus the selection of drinks and snacks (canapés!?) by the fire at the end were lovely. Highly recommend going with this company.

Great evening w Rodrigo and Pablo. The night sky was the ‘star’ of the show, but Rodrigo’s commentary, the food and drink around the camp fire as well as telescope viewing and photo opportunities were also wonderful. Highly recommended if you want a ‘light’ star gazing experience.

We absolutely loved our stargazing with Rodrigo. He has a wonderful calm energy, voice and presence. And his knowledge is incredible! We were lucky to have the perfect conditions for the Night Sky, but I think even on an imperfect evening, you would have a great time! It was so kind of him to show us how to use our phones to take photos. The professional photos they took were awesome! The snacks and drinks were a bonus :) thank you so much, Rodrigo!

we had a great time! it was a really great experience for people who live in cities especially, and never get to see stars like that. one thing that surprised me is how clustered the stars really are, they don’t look that way a lot of the time because of light pollution. Rodrigo was great! he had a laser pointer that made it really easy for him to guide us in learning about the constellations. he was happy to answer any questions, and was very kind. the wine and snacks were a great addition to the event and it helped make the groups more comfortable! some notes so that you are prepared: we went in april and it was freezing outside. i would wear layers. they provide blankets, but even with a light puffer, t-shirt, and jeans i was cold. they also don’t provide hot chocolate and tea till the end, so don’t expect to have that warming you up in the beginning. the driver picks up everyone in a specific order, so you may not be picked up right at 7:40pm. it really depends on if you are the closest or the furthest from the observation sight. **The picture taken by the photographer are included

This is a wonderful night out to see and learn about stars. There are many telescopes and the small group allows for many different stars to be viewed.

Amazing experience. Rodrigo was incredibly knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour to anyone whether you’re solo traveling, a couple or with family. Driver picked us up and dropped us off to the hotel. Wine and snacks once we arrived. It was a 10/10 experience!!

This was an unforgettable experience. It brought back my childhood looking for constellations in the sky with the exception being I can view them almost like a dream in the clear skies of San Pedro de Atacama. The guide was very knowledgeable and you could see his passion for astrology show in his work.

This tour was the highlight of our stay in San Pedro de Atacama. If you are planning to book a stargazing tour, this should be the one. Communication regarding pickups was excellent. We started the evening listening to Rodrigo share his vast knowledge and then were able to look through telescopes. He showed us how to take night sky photos with our phones. We ended the evening with snacks and drinks and a wood fire. An unforgettable experience, you will learn so much!

The Atacama is known for its dark skies and astronomical observatories. So getting out to see the southern night sky is a mist-do. I’m glad I picked this tour. Good transportation and communications, and Rodrigo is an excellent guide. He’s super knowledgeable, having written books on the subject. He started with stargazing with the “naked eye” and telling us lots of interesting stories, before taking us to see several celestial objects up close through professional telescopes. Rodrigo speaks slowly and clearly, and took time to answer questions. Note that it gets COLD out at night (even in mid-December) so bring layers. They provide blankets as well. At the end he shares wine, coffee, hot chocolate and a variety of sweet and savory snacks which are enjoyed around a campfire. We were picked up after midnight and arrived back at the hotels in town about 30 min later.

Really enjoyable and interesting evening with Rodrigo - such a friendly and knowledgeable guide. The whole evening was very well organised and personal - he loves what he does and it shows! We got to see some spectacular sights through the two telescopes and learnt a lot as well - made us want to do more stargazing in future! We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the evening - sat around the fire pit at the end with drinks and food was lovely. Well worth the price. The group size was good - everyone had a good amount of time with the telescopes. Would definitely recommend!

Easily the best tour I’ve had in San Pedro. Rodrigo was an excellent tour guide. With Rodrigo’s tripod, I was able to take some Astro photographs with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and they came out better than I was expecting. First time doing astrophotography. I would highly recommend this tour if you are an English speaker. I saw Orion’s Belt, Betelgeuse, Sirius, the hunter, Jupiter, Saturn, star clusters, and so much more. My only wish was it was a bit longer so I could enjoy and take it all in. Even another 15-20 minutes would have been nice.

Stepping out of the bus to see the night sky like someone threw glitter onto it was a wow moment, a feeling that only grew when the wonderful and extremely personable Rodrigo took the time to showcase his talent and his knowledge about seemingly every star and constellation. Seeing the moon, Saturn, a nebula and Jupiter with its own moons among other beauties were special moments that I am extremely grateful to have had. The hot chocolate and snacks were also very scrumptious.

I live in NYC. Much as I love it, you don’t see many stars from the middle of Manhattan so I jumped at the chance to join Rodrigo and his colleagues for a night of looking at the heavens from one the last truly dark places left on earth. To begin, Rodrigo gave us a sort of orientation to the night sky, pointing out famous objects and some less known and giving us stories about the constellations and humanity’s millennia-long effort to understand our place in the cosmos. And then we got to the telescopes! Saturn and 3 moons, the Andromeda galaxy, the Orion Nebula and many more. Truly a magical experience and one of the highlights of my trip to South America.

This astronomical tour was one of the most incredible experiences we’ve ever had — truly a highlight of our trip to Chile. The Atacama Desert has some of the clearest, darkest skies on Earth, and seeing the Milky Way stretch across the sky with the naked eye was breathtaking. Our guides, Rodrigo and Pablo, were exceptional. Rodrigo’s passion and knowledge brought the night sky to life — from spotting the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds and the core of the Milky Way to glimpsing the Andromeda Galaxy 2.5 million light-years away. Through the telescopes, we saw Saturn and its moons, a diamond star, a butterfly cluster, and even a million-star globular cluster that looked like a sparkling flower. Pablo captured a stunning family photo with the Milky Way in the background — a memory we’ll treasure forever. To end the evening, we enjoyed wine, hot chocolate, and homemade snacks under the stars. The tour was well-organized, family-friendly, and flexible — they even adjusted our pickup since we arrived late. Overall, this was a phenomenal 5/5 experience and easily the best stargazing tour we’ve ever done. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

What an amazing and humbling experience, sitting quietly underneath a blanket of stars, in the absolute silence and tranquility of the desert. Gazing through professional telescopes, set up to view some interesting star clusters and the moon in very sharp detail. What made it even better was Rodrigo's excellent knowledge of numerous stars and constellations, all explained in both Spanish and English in a very soothing voice which made the experience even more calming and peaceful. And at the end, a cosy campfire and some hot drinks and delicious snacks. An evening to remember for a long time. Also a huge thanks to Pablo for some great professional photographs!

Unforgettable night ! Rodrigo knows the sky perfectly and showed us by telescope some breathetaking objects. An hot chocolate around the fire at the end of all give a special touch at the experience. Absolutly raccomanded.

The tour operator is extremely kind, professional and knowledgable within the field of astronomy what made the entire experience more intense and enjoyable. The entire tour was well organised and comfortable despite colder temperatures outside. The only negative side was that this tour was supposed to be English-speaking tour, however, 90% of participants were Brazilians so very quickly the tour turned into Spanish/Portuguese-speaking tour.

This was a highlight of our trip. It is well planned out and the guide is very knowledgeable. We got some amazing pictures and a fun night to remember! I highly recommend this tour.
