Astronomer At Atacama Picnic And Star Observation

The entire experience lasted about 60 minutes, if not slightly less, excluding pickup and drop off. We were led into a circular patio area where our guide spent less than 10 minutes pointing out 3-5 of the most common constellations (e.g. scorpio, sagittarius) in the night sky, then we were separated into the groups. One group got in line to have two photos taken of them while the other went over to the two telescopes they had set up and took turns viewing each one, one of which was fixated on the moon, the other on Saturn. The groups then switched “activities”. I did appreciate that the guide offered and helped us to take pictures of the image in the telescope with our phones, but the entire “activity” consisted of just glancing at each of the aforementioned planets 1-2 times, with no deeper discussion or analysis. After that the groups were brought back together and moved over to a small fire pit where they had set up a few platters with hors d'oeuvres and beverages. We stood around for 15-20 minutes snacking then we all got back on the busses and left. Although the guides were nice enough, I have to say this tour felt completely pointless and I can’t recommend it at all, especially for the price. I went into with the understanding that it was the worst possible time of month to be viewing the night sky and still left severely underwhelmed. Even during new moon periods when deep space observation is impossible, I think they should spend a lot more time with customers using the telescopes. Maybe view different objects within our solar system and/or add a historical perspective with a discussion of how Andean cultures have interpreted the night sky in their belief systems.

Only do this tour if you speak Portuguese, don’t care what time the tour starts/ends, ok waiting in the dark freezing due to poor communication, not seeing the milky way clearly, and getting photos a week later. I did the roofless tour the night before and that was better in every way. Roofless had a darker location to see milky way/stars, small group with personal attention, clear communication on pickup/dropoff in English, on time and way better pictures that were sent in less than 24 hrs. This tour was delayed 2.5 hours with no reason given and disorganized with everyone rotating stations in groups. My friends and I were the last ones to get photos done at almost 2am when milky way was setting so it was barely visible. We were led out into the desert walking 10 minutes by a photographer that did not speak English. When we returned to the site, everyone was gone and the photographer took us back to the hotel. It took constant messaging on whatsapp for a week to finally get subpar photos. I rarely write reviews but I feel like this is necessary to warn others.

This tour seems a bit disorganized. The start time of our tour on 10 September 2026 was delayed by more than 2 hours but we were never provided an explanation on why it was delayed. Additionally upon arrival at the star gazing site, my group felt like we were being herded like cattle through the various stations that were set up. Lastly, we didn’t end up taking our photos until close to 1:30am and the Milky Way had already disappeared beyond the horizon. You could tell this may have an off night for the tour agency and while we appreciated being returned to our hotel by the guide themselves, we didn’t make it back until 2am, nearly 2 hours after the scheduled end. Would recommend a different tour option.

They were competent, met the schedules, warned well in advance and also warned and recommended how to dress and what to eat for each walk. The guides were careful and present, ensuring a good knowledge of the aspects of each tour.

The astronomical tour was excellent! The explanation of the guide on the stars, astros was very good. The tour was really like we dreamed! Valle de la Luna was also very cool, we met the most iconic site of san Pedro de Atacama. Lagunas baltinache was a wonderful experience too!!! Those lagoons with beautiful salt and coloring are surreal!!! Meeting the vallecito was unforgettable, accompanied by the cocktail in the desert, it was simply spectacular. As well, floating in the cedar laguna was a very different, striking experience that will stay forever. And our last walk, valle del arcoiris, which in our opinion was the most beautiful and wonderful. Those very different tones, contracting, left the surreal scene beautiful.

Even with intercourse with tours, we had a very good support in the physical agency of San Pedro de Atacama. I highlight the excellent care of Beatriz and Débora who helped us to quickly solve our problem.

We arrived in San Pedro do Atacama without any trip reservation. We went to several different agencies to make the trip budget and we were very well received by Beatriz, Débora and Bismarck. Débora and Bia made our script, without commitment, and explained everything we needed to know. We closed with the we love and it was a great decision. We went on 7 different tours, including the salar of uyuni, and it was all sensational. We had support for almost 24 hours and everything went wonderfully well.

Astronomical tour with is magical! Seeing all the stars was exciting along with all the learning through Astrocoya. Also since, I have done all my tours in Atacama with We Love: valle arcoíris, laguna cejar, valle de la luna, geyser, ruta de los salares and red stones. The astronomical tour was amazing. I made 3 tours by the company WeLoveChile (Astronomico, Cerro Toco and Uyuni) and I liked them all very much. On the Uyuni tour, I had a problem with the car, quickly I sent a message to the seller and guide Débora and she solved my problem very quickly, and I sent the message very late.

Very good. The only issue that I think q needs to improve is the quality of the photo on the astronomical tour. Sky looks pretty in the photo, but people get a bad definition, different from other agencies. Besides, you handled well.
