Terrantai Lodge Hotel

This lovely Hotel ticks all the boxes. It’s just a block away from the Main Street, which is far enough to be quiet but close enough to enjoy all its conveniences. The decor is amazing … traditional ceilings in the main building and riverine stone walls throughout. Our room was small, but well kitted out and had our own private garden to provide green space. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Carlos who attended to all our needs. The hotel has three daily events for guests: lunch snacks, afternoon tea and evening wine tastings. Breakfast is from 4am to cover the early morning tours. Great base to explore Atacama.

One of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. Nicole welcomed us on arrival and set the tone for the whole stay - warm, unhurried, generous with her time and full of good advice about San Pedro. She made us feel like guests in a home rather than customers in a hotel. The lodge itself is beautifully crafted. Adobe walls, cactus-wood ceilings, river-stone detailing, hand-woven Andean textiles - it feels built rather than decorated, and every corner has been thought about. There is a real commitment to sustainability and to local materials and craftspeople behind it, not just a sign on the wall. The location is the best in town: right in the middle of the centre, so the plaza, restaurants and tour operators are all a two-minute walk, yet the courtyard and cactus garden are completely quiet at night. The small touches are what make it. The Tambo snack table with dried fruit and nuts through the afternoon, tea time, a wine tasting every evening, and live Andean musicians playing in the lounge. Breakfast is excellent - made-to-order omelettes, good bread and cheese, fresh juice and proper coffee. If you are going to San Pedro de Atacama, stay here. Thank you Nicole and the whole team.

From the outside the hotel is very unassuming but when you enter you're met with an amazing, genuine welcome and enter a little oasis of peace and tranquility in the desert! The facilities, the service and especially the people were all amazing. They really made a difference to my stay. It's ideally situated just off the main street so within easy access of bars, restaurants, etc.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Terrantai Lodge. The room was perfect, with a very comfortable bed and linen. Wine tasting and tea time were a very nice addition and a good way for hotel guests to meet each other. The hotel is perfectly located. It's incredibly quiet when you're in the hotel, yet you're right in the middle of town, with shops and restaurants all around. The staff were attentive and able to recommend things to do and places to see. We would definitely return!
