My brother, his wife and I took the walking tour of San Miguel de Allende on Feb. 2, 2026. Our guide was Ana. We all thought she was great. Her English was good. She knew her history. Since she was born in San Miguel, she gave us a personal perspective. She made the history come alive.

Itinerary

Marimar is truly amazing, super friendly, gives a lot of information in an interesting and passionate way. I had a great time learning about San Miguel and visiting lovely places I wouldn't have found by myself. If you want to experience San Miguel, don't think twice and book a tour with her. It's 100% worth it! Gracias Marimar!
We were shuffled off this tour and provided with one by another guide with a different company. We almost missed it due to late notification via text message. The tour we did was good and covered the main points this one would have. The recommendations by that guide ended up sending us on a goose chase. This tour included water while the one we were on did not. Im sure the actual tours by this guide are wonderful, but we didnt have that experience to rate it.
Our tour guide was Marimar, and she was excellent! I wish we could have spent the whole day walking around SMA with her. She is so knowledgeable and her love and enthusiasm for SMA made for a great experience.
Marimar , our guide , was very knowledgable and catered to all of our needs and questions. We had a very enjoyable tour of San Miguel. She followed up with some additional sightseeing suggestions. A 2 hour tour was the perfect amount of time to get to know the city.
I am now sitting at the meeting point for my tour and the Tour Guide did not show up. After another tour guide contacted her she finally sent me a text ten minutes after the tour was supposed to have started, saying she was sick. She can’t be that sick as she offered to do the tour tomorrow. My only day to take this tour and I don’t get a tour, even though I booked five weeks in advance. Not reliable.
Marimar was an awesome guide. Learned a lot and saw interesting places we never would have found without her.
Marimar gives an in-depth historical account to keep you interested. There could be an upgraded to cover another hour, Far to much history here.
Marimar was our tour guide. She was excellent, I would recommend her to anyone that wants to know the history of this beautiful city.
Our guide, Miramar was excellent. Her English was very good. She was very knowledgeable about the history of SanMuguel from its origin to the present.
Marimar was an excellent guide. She was a wealth of knowledge about San Miguel and after the tour she sent us a list of restaurants and sites to visit.
We had a great time. The tour was just the right length and the guide was excellent. Very informative and helpful
Lovely tour guide, very informative, friendly and helped us with suggestions for other tours in San Miguel
I booked this walking tour through GetYourGuide, and I am so happy we did! Marimar was a great guide, she was friendly and spoke perfect English, and she showed us sights that we would not have seen on our own, such as the unfinished murals. I strongly suggest a tour with Marimar, and I will book another one when we return. Thanks for a great tour!!!
This was a great tour, guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and attentive. Thank you Jahlal! Highly recommend. Gracias!
Marimar was super knowledgeable about the history and dates and evolution of San Miguel. She showed us some amazing places
Informative and fun. Terrific guide, who was well informed and flexible . Well-paced. Could do it again just to hear new things!
Understand the interactions between colonial explorers and the indigenous people. Also the history of the dam and the diminishing river water supply.
marimar told us some history, but the tour was not worth it. not much to see. she showed us no place to take good pics either
Great orientation walk. Enjoyed having guide to ourselves that day. She spoke quietly but we saw a lot and were very happy with her attentiveness to questions and special stop requests.
Great tour overall & leader. However the first 20 min was a sort of a waste of time with the description of Aztec mythology—not what I signed up for/class lecture. She could have shared that in 5 minutes. Otherwise, a nice two hour way to see the San Miguel.
Miramar was a great tour guide. She showed us around the city and gave us a lot of historical information. Would definitely recommend.
This was more like a historical tour versus a walking tour. While it was very interesting to learn about SMA's history, we weren't able to get to walk much or see much of the town at all
Our guide was great!! It was very informative. My only issue was that the description said that the guide would be available for questions during our stay here but she didn’t respond. It’s okay, we totally enjoyed the tour. Would recommend.
Luis was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. His historical information gave us a good base for the rest of our stay. Would highly recommend his guided tour.

Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the history of San Miguel- amazing how she knew so many dates and facts. I highly recommend this walking tour- you'll get to know the city and its rich history so much better and also get tips on where the locals eat.
Marimar our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and very kind. The two hours passed so fast, we really enjoyed the tour!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the historic sites of San Miguel Allende. She was very professional, friendly and her English was excellent. We learned a lot and enjoyed the time with spent with her.
Marimar was so knowledgeable about her city and gave us many highlights and tidbits outside of the typical tour info. It brought San Miguel and it’s rich history to life in so many ways and even touched on the intertwining of why the it is how it is now.
The points of interest were well worth the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable, personable and helpful. A great way to introduce yourself to SMA central.

Marimar was a great tour guide. Informative and very professional. Showed us galleries and churches I would have passed by. And bought everyone a cool drink at the end. Recommended.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great understanding of the history of San Miguel de Allende
My husband and I were lucky enough to have the tour guide to ourselves. We learned so much about the town’s beginnings, its people, architecture and art, early conflicts and outcomes, and the wealthy elite and influential artists. I highly recommend it - great value for the money at the beginning of our two week stay in San Miguel.
Seeing the amazing art was great, tour guide was lovely but gave way too much info about history and dates. Would have preferred to get more oriented to the city!
Love our tour guide. She was VERY knowledgeable about San Miguel. Gave us great recommendations to different neighborhoods, art scenes, restaurants, etc
