One Painting In One Day Doors Of San Miguel

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Fernando is very knowledgeable and a talented artist as well as a patient instructor. He had all the materials available. I learned about techniques to create an acceptable painting as a novice artist.

Great morning learning the techniques of painting from an artist. He had everything set up for us and patiently walked us through the steps of completeing a painting we can take home. His kind wife even bought us coffees from across the street. It was just a fun way to learn to paint and have a wonderful day in SMA.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Christi's place to find out that I was only student. I picked up some good techniques that I wasn't taught in the past and I'm happy how my painting turned out. I had a good time.

My sister and I had a wonderful day together learning so many painting techniques and coming home with our masterpieces! The instructor is a San Miguel artist who was delightful and very skilled. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed the Doors of San Miguel painting class! It was such a fun and enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The instructor was interesting, engaging, and very informative, especially when it came to the actual painting techniques and process. I learned a lot without feeling overwhelmed, and most importantly, I had a great time. I’m also really happy with my painting — which was a pleasant surprise! 😂 I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun, creative experience in San Miguel.

I had a really fun experience painting a door of San Miguel with Fer! I hadn't painted with acrylics in years, so it challenged me. I was doubtful about my painting at first, but thanks to helpful instruction and after going in and layering several times, I liked the result and had a really fun memento from San Miguel that I had created. (Still need to add some shadows and detail...) I definitely recommend this experience. I also did an Urban Sketchers class with Cristi, and got a lot out of that class as well.

The instructor was very knowledgeable and extremely patient. You could tell he had passion and wanted students to do well. I felt encouraged even those I had no artistic talent or background. Thank you for such an amazing lesson.

While parts of this experience were enjoyable, and the teacher was both kind and knowledgeable, I left feeling a bit frustrated. I think this would be a wonderful activity for beginner painters, especially if you’re going with a friend and looking for a fun, guided experience. However, experienced painters may feel somewhat constrained by the structure of the class. The class follows a very structured, step-by-step approach, and it does not include some of the basic tools many painters are used to having on hand, such as a ruler, which made the process feel more limiting. If you’ve had years of training in a different style or method, it can be difficult to adjust. To get the most out of it, go with a friend and set aside your usual process and simply go with the flow.

I learned so much! My teacher often modeled a new technique for me on a sheet of paper so my final product was 100% mine. I’m a novice but came away with a painting m proud of!! Would definitely recommend and teachers are bilingual English/Spanish.

I was very happy with my Doors of San Miguel painting experience. It's at least 30 years since I painted, and that was with water colour so I was keen to learn about acrylics. I was not disappointed. I learned what supplies I would need to acquire, how to plan and lay out a painting, how to apply layers, how to mix colours - in. short everything a beginner needs to know. And I have a not-too-bad first painting. One of my classmates posted our class photo. That's me in the pink hat.

I learned such a lot from our very helpful maestro. From knowing nothing I now know what supplies to purchase and how to go about producing a painting. Also I enjoyed the day very much.

What a great way to spend the day! We were both beginners and learned some basic painting and composition techniques from our instructor- an experienced artist. Bonus was seeing a different side of San Miguel and having a fun souvenir to take home! Highly recommend!

This was such a wonderful experience! Fernando is an excellent, patient, and kind teacher. I've been painting on my own for two years, and I learned so much in one session with him! It was fun, the time went quickly, and now I have a piece of art to take home!!

I had a lovely day learning some painting techniques from Cristi and completing my door painting. Funnily enough, one of the inspiration photos of doors in SMA was a door I had seen earlier and had also taken a photo of. Her advice was so helpful that I’m not ashamed of what I created and would definitely go back to another class!

We had a great time at this painting class. As beginners we learned a lot and really enjoyed our time with Fernando. It's a must do activity while in San Miguel!

I did the sketching workshop, and as a novice I learned a lot, as did people who were more experienced. At first it seemed slow, but in fact Cristi was just very calm and thorough. A really rewarding and enjoyable few hours.

This was an incredible painting workshop especially for beginners. This workshop covered a number of techniques and various tools. I highly recommend this one day workshop! Very professional and all supplies provided. Trust the process and be amazed!

I’ve been doing art for many years and wanted to branch out and try loosening up my style. This was a great class for that. Straight forward and helpful direction. Got many good tips and tried out some new techniques, overall lots of fun!

I’ve never held a paintbrush and I was very nervous about doing this activity. I am so glad that I went. The artist was a jewel and so kind and patient. His instructions were wonderful and I felt very comfortable in my elementary artistic abilities.

I loved this class! They were both so patient and awesome with teaching my grandma, aunt, and I! We all made some mistakes which they helped us fix calmly and I learned a lot from them. I really appreciated the way they taught us techniques like shadows and perspective to use on future paintings.

My family and I had a great time! The class was accessible for beginners and the paintings came out really well. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the beautiful studio, knowledge instruction, and positive atmosphere. It was cool that we each got to choose and paint our own doorway so now we have a little collection of different paintings we could hang at home. We would definitely go again :)
