Elisa was a great guide: knowledgeable, warm and very good at adding historical details that made the tour even more interesting!! By the end of our time together, I felt confident to step out on my own, and further explore places/sites that had piqued my curiosity during the two hour excursion - the yummy lunch spot was an added bonus! Highly recommend the Landmarks and Lunch tour, and Elisa! 💖

This was a wonderful introduction to the city's history with many locations we wouldn't have found on our own! Elisa was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. Enjoyed it very much! Highly recommended.
Elisa was an amazing tour guide and a wealth of information. She had such a pleasant personality. I highly recommend this tour.
Elisa was delightful and such a great tour guide. She showed us the city and got us acclimated to centro. She showed us places that we returned to later. We very much enjoyed our time with her
You will be told of places to go that you might not find on your own. Mary was a delightful host who hails from Minnesota but now lives in San Miguel with her chef husband.
Our guide Elisa was so knowledgeable and we learned such great history about the centro area of San Miguel. She also sent us many recommendations for more things to do after the tour. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and chocolate truffle was an added bonus. A great tour.
The guide spoke excellent English! There were 9 of us, so no headsets were needed. The lunch was quick and delicious! I highly recommend this tour. The guide said she would send a copy of our group photo. Hope to get that soon. Worth the money!
Guide was very knowledgeable and personable! Tour was about an hour followed by a great lunch. Highly recommend.
My wife and I signed up for this walking-and-tasting tour and had the great good fortune to be guided by Elisa Torres, a friendly, knowledgeable, English-speaking lifetime local (her family has lived here for generations). Armed with her deep knowledge of SMA history and all the fascinating factoids that bring an ancient place to life, Elisa will have you falling more in love with San Miguel de Allende with every step. The tour began at the parque in front of Templo San Francisco, a place of great historic significance. But don't think this is all work and no fun. The first thing Elisa did was hand us freshly handmade churros tucked under a blanket of delicious cajeta (goat's milk caramel). Best way to start a tour EVER. About midway through the tour she'll take you to a restaurant that already knows your allergies or dietary restrictions. That's planning right there. After lunch, expect to stop by a family-run ice cream stand for a final, delicious treat. Between tastings, you'll get your fill of fun and fascinating info. Elisa seems to know everyone, and they seem to know her. She knows their stories. She knows who is selling genuine artworks and crafts made by hand by indigenous artesans, and where you are likely to run across Chinese-made lookalikes that purport to be the real thing--and that cost even more than the real thing. She'll take you to several must-sees and point out others you shouldn't miss. We've been ticking off the list she gave us and there isn't a clinker in the bunch. If it were possible to give this tour--and this excellent guide--6 stars, we'd do it without hesitation. Book this tour today. The company that operates it, Taste of San Miguel, is a top-flight outfit that offers multiple tours, and we're certain all their guides are excellent; in fact, we've booked the nighttime Ghost Tour with them as well. Our thanks to Elisa and the team at Taste of San Miguel for a terrific day in SMA.
Wonderful tour and guide. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend it highly. Learned a great deal
Our guide Sam was amazing! We opted to book a private tour because we had small children and grandparents. It was very much worth it. We were able to go at a slower and more flexible pace which was perfect with a 2 & 6 year old. Booking was incredibly easy and transparent. Thank you for a wonderful morning, Sam!
Our tour was amazing! And it was because of our wonderful guide, Elisa. She took her time with us and is so knowledgeable about the history of SMA. She made it so interesting. We would definitely highly recommend this tour with her. We were a group of 9.
Amazing experience and definitely recommend it. Learned a lot about the local history and culture. Very knowledgeable tour guide.
Our San Miguel de Allende Landmarks and Gourmet Tour was an unforgettable experience! We explored the city’s most iconic sites—each one brimming with history, color, and charm—before diving into a delicious culinary journey. My favorite dish was the taco de jicama, my favorite drink was the mezcal de frutas de pasión, and my favorite postre was beautifully prepared with pan de muerto. We visited five incredible restaurants, sampling everything from creative appetizers to exquisite main courses and an indulgent dessert.. Our guide Pascal was absolutely spectacular—knowledgeable, a talented musician and passionate about sharing both the city’s history and its vibrant food culture. Their storytelling and attention to detail made the tour come alive. This experience was the perfect blend of culture, flavor, and fun. Highly recommended especially if you’re traveling solo, great way to connect with expats or other travelers.
Less was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable. I like his personality. He's kind of dry and direct. He asked what information we were most interested in and stayed focused on that.
Mary was wonderful. She explained everything and the history of San Miguel de Allende real good . A lot of good information . The chocolate , lunch and churros were all excellent. I will for sure book with when I come back with my family
This was a great overview of San Miguel de Allende... with a delicious lunch and chocolate tasting. Wonderful tour Guide - Elisa. She is very sweet and Knowledgeable. I look forward to recommending her tours to Friends 🧡
Sam was our tour guide for the day and was ext ordinarily friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating! In addition to the local sights included on the tour he pointed out many other places of interest that we might be interested in visiting and exploring. The lunch and chocolate shop he took us to were outstanding! However, the best part of the tour was his knowledge of the area, its history, and his recommendations for the many other places we might want to explore during our month in San Miguel de Allende. We feel that we’ve made a friend in San Miguel and will definitely recommend him to others!
We learned a lot about the history and culture of San Miguel de Allende in a short amount of time. We never felt rushed. The meal at the conclusion was the perfect lunch and a visit to the chocolate shop capped it off beautifully.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Vail was knowledgeable and engaging, and the afternoon was cultural. Vail took us to some of the most appetizing restaurants.
Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about SMA and has many stories and historical facts to share. His deep understanding of life in Mexico .. with all its glory and problems … enriched our tour. He is American (from MN originally) and has lived in this land for more than a decade. He speaks fluent Spanish and Finnish also. Lunch was delicious at a typical SMA restaurant, as was ice cream at a vendor outside the Vince t.
Alisa Torres was a delightful and very knowledgeable guide about San Miguel as well as choosing appropriate restaurants to get a flavor of the city. We highly recommend taking a tour with her! Mary Catherine and Arthur Chavoya
The tour guide, Jon Pascual, was great. He was knowledgeable. He was informed about the history of San Miguel. He was personable and a joy to have as a guide.
This is my 3rd Viator tour in a year in San Miguel. Each has been great. Sam was our guide for all three. He does a great job and took us to yummy local places to eat.
Excellent guide, very informative, lots of local interest. The lunch that was included was very good. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Pascal was a fabulous guide, full of knowledge about the history of San Miguel and Mexico, an entertain story teller, and a gregarious host. This tour provided a great overview of San Miguel.
Elisa was a wonderful guide. A friend from Minnesota came to visit, and I booked the tour to get her some background on this beautiful city. Elisa is very knowledgeable, and having grown up in San Miguel, she provided some extra insight into the culture and traditions of Mexican families. I highly recommend this tour!
We took the Landmarks and Lunch tour with our 5 star guide, Elisa Torres, who brings her many generations of history and family life in San Miguel de Allende to turn this tour into a extremely unique and exceptional experience. Beyond her extensive knowledge, Elisa is tremendously personable and it was a pleasure spending time with her on this very worthwhile tour of central San Miguel. Thanks Elisa for a fantastic afternoon.

Great tour hosted by Sam. The city is beautiful and has a ton of history. We have been to the city before a few times over the years so we have a bit of knowledge and understanding of it. But with Sam our guide, we learned so much more. He is an American that moved there and has become a first rate local. As you can see the love he has for San Miguel. Overall the tour was fantastic, the provided lunch was fantastic and the host Sam was fantastic. If you want to have a fun time and see this great City, take this tour and ask for Sam. Mark
We had a fantastic walking tour in San Miguel de Allende starting with a unique twist: delicious churros to kick off our adventure! The highlight was definitely the lunch at a charming local restaurant, where we enjoyed authentic dishes that showcased the region's flavors. The guide shared fascinating insights into the city's history and culture, making for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this tour!
Pascal was very informative. Gave great tour with good mixture of past and present history of SMA. Highly recommend his tour.
Our tour guide, Elisa Torres, gave our group a most interesting and enjoyable tour of beautiful San Miguel de Allende. Born and raised in San Miguel, Elisa imparted not only her knowledge of the city and its history but did do with a heart to that spanned the many generations of her family and their real life. We saw lots of architecture presented with the story the peoples that brought it here from churchs to revolutionaries, and the dwellings they inhabited making the current beautiful city, feel as if are were back in time. It ended with a wonderful lunch that exhibited traditional delicious foods chosen to depict their true heritage, with delightful conversation regarding the good and how connected their families remain to it this day. Bravo, I Recommend Elisa Torres as a tour guide for anyone who wants to get a glimpse of this beautiful city.
Tour guide Elisa was amazing! Her tour perfectly matched our interests: churches, architecture, history and food! I would give her 10 solid stars if it was possible. Elisa is approachable and answered all of our questions and then some.
When someone loves their town, you just know. We had so many questions on the history here and Elisa filled in the gaps nicely. Elisa not only shared the history, but through the tour, you get a better idea of the sense of community in San Miguel de Allende. The town is a jewell as was our walking tour. So many little things we would have missed if we hadn't done the tour.
Elisa Torres is an outstanding tour guide. Her knowledge of the history of San Miguel de Allende was incredible. We learned so much about this beautiful city. She exemplifies the beauty of the people and community found here. Highly recommend you take this tour with Elisa.
Elisa T. was an excellent guide and exceeded our expectations. She was very knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations on what to see in SMA. I highly recommend.
Lisa Torres was lovely and gave us so much history we never would have known. It was just me and my husband so we were able to set the pace. Although, it would have been nice to be with others. Since we went on a Monday, we didn't get into one place of the most wealthy family. So, I'd advise a different day. The lunch was very good. And, it was the first mole I actually enjoyed. Don’t hesitate. Good value.
We all loved the history, inside stories, and tips for the city of San Miguel. Saw churches and other landmarks. Our guide Victor had great restaurant recommendations as well. We all really enjoyed this tour. The lunch was excellent! Highly recommend Victor and this tour.
Excellent food along with entertaining stories told by Victor gave us an experience we will remember and talk about years from now.
Loved the walking tour with Victor. He gave just the right amount of information and lunch was delicious!
Les and Elisa took our group of 18 on a tour through the market, around to several local churches, and finished at a local restaurant. The tamarind popsicles were a nice treat on a hot day! Extremely knowledgeable about San Miguel de Allende.
We are lucky to be here for Easter. The fountains, windows, and alters are all decorated with flowers. The city is packed with tourist. But everyone is so respectful.
Elisa was an amazing tour guide! She greeted us with churros. She was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of San Miguel.
We had 8 friends and 2 others on this tour and Les was great. He was so knowledgeable and provided us with the highlights of the history and culture. He is so passionate and we all left with learning a lot, having fun and enjoying a super lunch at the end. Highly recommend. Ask for Les.
We took this tour with Elisa Torres as our tour guide. We learned so much about the history and architecture of San Miguel de Allende. Also, the food was excellent and very authentic. We highly recommend this tour!
What a wonderful experience! Elis was a great tour guide, very knowledgable (as a SMA native) and fun to be with. Her tour focused on the churches, differences between then, and the history behind the colonialization and integration of the ancient indigenous tribes. Following our history tour we had lunch at a fantastic place which served us an authentic Mexican lunch. Highly recommend!
Our Guide, Elisa, was amazing and really knowledgeable. Lunch was tasty and authentic with a unique ice cream treat at the end.
Sam was our guide on the Landmarks & Lunch tour and he was really great, knew a ton about history and was very personable. The lunch at the end was great also & Sam gave us lots of recommendations also for the rest of our trip!
We really enjoyed our tour with Victor! He has deep knowledge and passion for San Miguel and showed us the city through his eyes. We loved the history, the locations we saw and the mole lunch at the end! It was truly a wonderful experience!
